WORST COMPANY AND WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE !! So many extra hidden charges and when they already booked you they do not answer the phone anymore and they hide. I got extra charged because they will be using the stairs and I was never told that in case they can not use the elevator, there might be extra charge for using the stairs,all I needed to be mentioned but that did not happen but they sure mentioned they have been 30 years in this business and according to them I am supposed to tell them what size is the elevator, 30 years in service is long enough for them to be asking be those questions and letting me know what will happen. On the phone when I tried to ask them if the price is final and if there will be any other charges they said no, that's all, turns out I have to pay extra for packing which that was supposedly included. PLEASE do not use this company because you will be screwed so bad and when you try to call them, they hide and they send somebody else and when you ask for the supervisor, they are at lunch break ! PATHETIC!!

I contracted Charter back in March for a move Aug 20 from Virginia to NYS. They quoted me a binding quote and said they were piggybacking me with another going same way. The consultant, Shawn told me to expect 2-5days and never gave me any indication that my move was 'sold' nor that it would sit in a warehouse at the Moving company in Maryland. I would not have used them had I known all this. The drivers from One Way were 3 hours later than the time making it after 11pm before truck was loaded and then I find out they are only taking to their dispatch in Maryland. It's now been 8 days, still don't have my things, incurred an unnecessary hotel charge which no one seems to care about plus the final total was way over the original quote. Extremely displeased with this service. I would have made other moving arrangements had I known about this inconvenience and more money.

My family and I recently moved from the area to Jackson, MS. A family friend recommended Charter Van Lines, as they had used them in the past. First off, the movers were very generous and could hold a good conversation. If they had any questions regarding the items that they were moving they would ask in a kind manner.

They were very efficient with their time as it only took a couple hours to get everything packed (we pre-packed smaller items). They packed all items with care, wrapped fragile items and covered furniture.

When we arrived at our new home, they gently unloaded all the items for us and provided a check sheet for us so they could ensure all our items had arrived and were undamaged. One of the workers even suggested where we should put certain items of furniture to get the most space out of our rooms. Overall great decision to choose Charter Van Lines.

I would definitely give you a 5 star rating for a great service which you have done on moving my home equipment and Appliances from Milpitas to Las Vegas. This is the first time I am using this company and I must say I am very impressed with their services. I really appreciate you for the excellent timing and schedule. These guys are unbelievable! We couldn't have done this without them, no question. My family and I were moving from Orlando,FL to Philadelphia,PA and we were researching for a good moving company that can get the job done! And Charter Van Lines were the answer to our prayers!

The movers helping us were so nice , could actually hold a good conversation and extremely helpful and extra careful with our belongings. Usually I'm nervous when moving a large amount of stuff from state to state and yet everything arrived in perfect condition!They were FAST and efficient and I felt at ease with them handling our furniture, and were able to rearrange our furniture in the new house based on our preferences.

The rate they charged us was beyond fair. Much cheaper than other estimates we had.

This is one of the best decisions we have ever made. I highly highly recommend them to anyone!

Charter Van Lines ruined my moving experience, estimated 2600 for the move and when the movers showed up (charter is a broker not a mover) I was charged 4600 for overages even though my inventory matched. Of the 4600, I had over 2k in ruined property. I filed claims and called every day and nobody returned my calls. I continued to call daily and they told me they’d look into it which they clearly never did. I called again today and was told the overages look normal. I was then hung up on by customer service.

Today is day 13 that we are waiting for our furniture to come.. our estimate given was $2600 deposit required $525 on day of reservation.. we had to call twice to get a pick up confirmation, I spoke to Mark R..our end total was $4600.. I have called every day for the past 4 days and no body can tell me when they will be delivering our furniture.. however I did see on the contract it says 501 - 1500 miles 0-10 days after that $ 50 days can be claimed ?? I wonder if this is going to happen.. people in short PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS.. PLEASE GET ANOTHER COMPANY TO MOVE YOU.. THIS IS PATHETIC.

Charter, posing as a moving company gave me the best estimate I could find for my move. They required a 500 dollar deposit which I later found out was illegal since movers can not take a deposit. I was informed by another company that Charter is a broker. So there my story begins. That 500 bucks could have gone to a legitimate mover. Well they sold my job to something called One Way Movers out of Baltimore which I can not find on the internet. One guy showed up to load my things. He worked from 4 30 to 12 30 am. I called One Way the next morning and asked when my things would be delivered. I was told 1-6 days with Saturday being day 1. By the way they picked up my things on Wednesday. OK then, I get a call on Saturday saying I need another 1800.00 dollars with 900 right away before they could even deliver it. Seems Charter, crooks that they are, gave me a low estimate so they could get that 500 bucks and my possessions were almost double what they quoted me. I told them exactly what I had. I did not have the money and had to borrow it to get my things delivered almost two weeks after pick up. I had many things broken and also have not found some of my things. I sent an email to One Way and got no response. Seems this practice is quite common. You have to pay a ransom for your own possessions. I called Charter Van Lines to complain and they hung up on me. Not good business. Better Business Bureau and any other group will hear from me about this.

This company was great to work with! They were very professional and through throughout the entire moving process. I was quite nervous about moving since this was a longer trip then what I’m used to but they helped me through the whole process and the experience turned out to be quite fun. They made themselves available anytime I needed help or if I felt something was wrong, but nothing was ever wrong. When they were actually packing my things they were very delicate and gentle to make sure that nothing would be broken on the trip. If anyone is planning a move anytime soon in the future I recommend you use this company for the move, they are prompt, professional and available anytime you need them.

UPDATE..8/15/18 and still my belongings have not been received and still can't give me any updates. Arrow is trying to say they want to put my stuff on freight train and Charter says that is incorrect but neither will respond to my request for the location of my belongings. I plan on hiring another moving company to get my stuff away from Arrow and Charter. This is one of more horrible experiences of my life. These people have no regard for my stuff, they shouldn't be allowed to do business. I will be filing a lawsuit after. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!



WARNING!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR LONG DISTANCE MOVES!! During the several phone calls to set up the move, never once was it mentioned that the 4-14 days they quoted me was BUSINESS DAYS. Fast forward to moving day 6/30/18 and after hours of packing all my stuff in their truck, the cost is double what they quoted me, they hand me the paperwork to sign and now I'm forced to agreeing to 30 BUSINESS DAYS FOR MY STUFF TO GET HERE since it's already on the truck and I have to be out of my rental that day!! How can you give me an estimate of 4-14 days (that's why I chose this company) and then forget to mention it's more like business days and closer to 30?? The company Charter Van Lines sent was Arrow Moving and Storage from Vegas and they are terrible, go read their reviews. I agree 1000% with every 1 star review on their page and 1 star reviews are all they have! I didn't pick Arrow, Charter sent them, this is the type of moving companies Charter will contract your move out to. It's common practice it seems to double the cost of the move upon arrival. I've moved from CA to PA seven times now and previously I've used Northwestern and never had this issue; they have an estimate when my stuff would get here and like magic, it got there. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TOO! Every time I call the person on other end of the phone is completely obvious they don't care and plan on making no effort to find out where my stuff is. As of today 8/9/18, all my stuff that was picked up 6/30/18 is still not here. I've never received a single phone call to update me about when my stuff will get here or what is going on. This company absolutely does not care about its clients once they have your belongings. They contract your move out with local moving companies and then wash their hands of it. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

If you have had silimar experiences with Charter or Arrow I encourage you to do what I am doing and file a complaint with the FTC. I feel so swindled and taken advantage of by both these companies.

This company saved me time and money with their quality services. I have moved around my entire childhood and was over moving another thing on my own. I didn't know anything about moving services or which one to pick. I called one service before this one but the employee seemed to busy to talk about my move. I called this company next, thankfully. The company gave me all the info I was looking for and asked if I had any questions. They seemed eager for me to choose their service. The prices I found were very reasonable as I didn't want to pay too much for the move, or have to wind up doing it on my own. The day of the move the employees were patient and careful with my belongings. They made the move quick and overwith before I had time to have any concerns. I was very satisfied with the company service and rates. The employees came to do their job and make the move as comfortable for me as they could. I knew they could tell I was nervous, but their patience settled my nervousness and then it was over! I highly recommend this company and now know who I'm using from now on! Thanks guys.

I am waiting for stuff still. I have been waiting since 7/31. It is supposedly on its way and should be here today. I have gotten 5 different delivery times and dates. I am not happy and will never use a mover again. I was not told this company was a broker and didn't actually do the moving part them selves. Their contract says too many different things than the actual movers and their "quote" was way off and I had to pay 500.00 more than what they said. I will only use U-Haul from now on and move myself.

I used Charter Van Lines to have my truck transported from Michigan to California. I didn’t think my truck would make the trip if I tried to drive it and I didn’t want to buy a new vehicle once I got there. I did some research and decided to have it transported. I had never done anything like this before so I was somewhat confused on how it would work. Charter Van Lines customer service really helped me out and explained how the process would work. They assured me that my vehicle would have a safe trip. They also scheduled everything for me and the driver came and picked it up on time and unloaded it on time. It was a pleasant experience working with Charter Van Lines.

We were moving from Arkansas to NewYrok and having two boys it was a huge stress. We didn’t even know where to begin. We began searching and ran across Charter Van Lines, we decided to give them a chance and sent them all our information online to get a free quote. We were very impressed with their prices and decided to give them a chance. And honestly it was the best decision we made. They took charge right away and literally lifted everything off our shoulder. They wrapped all our fragile items super hard and took excellent care of them. Everything arrived on time and without a scratch. I couldn’t believe their excellent customer service skills and positive attitude. They made you feel like it was their pleasure taking care of your items. I highly recommend and would defiantly reuse.

Charter Van Lines were by far the best company that I could have called for my long distance, cross-country move. I needed to move in a hurry due to starting a new job and they were able to come out quickly and get me moved. Not only did they load the truck and transport my truckload of household things, but they also packed everything for me. I couldn't believe that they would even offer to do that. I have so much stuff, it's amazing that they were able to get everything packed and loaded so quickly. 96 They were very helpful and kind to me during the entire process. They helped me stay stress free and I am very grateful for that. If I ever need to move so far away again, I will be calling Charter Van Lines.

I had lived in Oklahoma and used Charter Van Lines for relocating to Dallas for a new job. They were relatively fast and made everything pretty easy, I just used them for some bigger items that were too hard for me to transport in my car. They picked everything up and had a time frame that it would be at the new location and I actually got a call ahead of time to make sure I was there to receive my things. There pricing was fair for the most part, my company was helping me with the relocation costs and gave me a budget to stay under. If I decided to move again in the near future I would definitely think about using these movers.

Charter Van Lines are the must corrupt company we"ve ever known. They not only farmed us out to Ocean Moving and Storage who on the move from Cape Cod, Ma to Greenville, SC. damaged so much of our property and stole about $40,000 of jewelry and personal belongings! We've tried to call 11 times (Charter) and not one call back!! Our boxes that did arrive came crushed and broken glass falling out of the torn cartons! Leg on our living room table broken off and so much more we can't even fathom what actually happen!
JAY CARIONE, was so wonderful on the phone, telling us how wonderful the company is, they will set everything up, (NOT)how curious they are, horrible!! Ocean Moving employees needs to go the JAIL!!

I don’t really write reviews, but I had to for this company! I must say that this is one of the best companies I have ever used for moving. Not only were they professional, but they made sure my furniture was handled with care, and that my overall moving experience was pleasant. Since I was moving into a new apartment, I was already worried, especially because of the fact that I had tons of precious paintings and glass tables. However, their professionalism and joyful attitudes eased my fears. They also finished very quickly which was surprising, yet refreshing. The website is very, very easy to navigate and use, and when I called for a question, they were extremely helpful, useful, and friendly. It was such a relief to deal with professional company in such a stressful time of moving, so I would recommend this company to all my friends and family, as well as use it again in the future!

Earlier this year, my husband was offered an incredible job across the country and we decided to relocate. I am so grateful that I found Charter Van Lines because I had no idea how to move all of our things. You would expect some aspect of cross-country moving to be a nightmare, but they made every single step of this process so easy! They showed up on time, packed all of our valuables with such care, and loaded/unloaded everything so quickly. All we had to do was show up to our new home and the Charter Van Lines team took care of everything else. Worth every penny!

I had to write a review for Charter Van Lines after the great service they gave to my family! My grandma decided to move back to Michigan to be closer with her extended family. With selling her condo putting stress on my parents, I decided to take on the stress of moving. I searched around and found Charter. They helped me shop around to find movers who provide interstate moving. After I told them what my grandma needed (packaging and moving), they found the right movers for our needs. Charter was able to work with us throughout the process even though they didn’t need to since we were already working with the actual movers. Charter even went so far as to follow up a week or so after the move to make sure my grandma had all her belongings! I highly recommend Charter Van Lines for any and all moving needs!

So Charter Van Lines saved me from a huge headache concerning moving my grandparents across country! My sister and I needed to move my grandparents to her home in Virginia after their house had been pretty much destroyed (long story) I live in a small apartment so there wasn’t much room left for them to stay with me. My grandfather had a stroke last year and my grandma has complications from type 1 diabetes so they weren’t able to do anything themselves which given their current health is understandable. My issue was that I worked two jobs and had three little ones to take care of so it was very hard on me to try and figure out how I was going to pack all of their belongings and move them so far. Also I’m a tiny gal so moving all of my grams heavy antique furniture.. it all seemed like a lose lose situation. Just when I was going to pull all the rest of my hair out, my coworker gave me Charter’s number. ( I daily vocalized my frustration with the move at work) I called the number, had a friendly consultation and soon after they sent out some guys to pack and load their stuff. The people they sent were friendly and even listened to my gram who was very concerned about her antiques being damaged. Everything arrived to my sisters and they unloaded and unpacked everything with ease. It saved me so much time and avoided so much stress. I would recommend them a thousand times over!

Needed to move to New York for a work transfer. Based on a friend’s advice, I decided to give Charter Van Lines a call, and am glad I did! They made the move an easy and painless process. Extremely careful with my stuff (this includes boxes that didn’t even have FRAGILE written on them), and friendly to deal with. The service was above and beyond expected, so I give them my highest recommendation for anyone looking to have an easy and hassle-free move, as well as making sure all your things get taken care of properly.

Charter Van Lines could not have made our move more convenient. After an unexpected job change, we were nervous about the process. We have two dogs and a lot of stuff, so we were prepared for a tortuous process. We followed positive recommendations about them, and we were blown away at the attention to detail they had for our move. Not being prepared for a living change, we assumed we'd lose a few things in the process, but Charter Van Lines kept a detailed list of our belongings, and helped ease our anxieties about the trip. They offered us auto transport as well, and while we didn't need it, the fact that it's a service they offer is impressive. We don't plan on moving again anytime soon, but we'll be sure to contact them if we do!
