Centennial Moving

I was initially very skeptical with using Centennial Moving, not necessarily because they had any bad reviews, but it's difficult to find a moving company that you trust to move your valuable items, especially across the country. But I don't really have any negative comments about them. Service was great, from the initial customer service representative (thank you Kate) to the actual movers (both in Mississauga and Edmonton). They came at the time they stated that they would arrive at our home, they wrapped any items that needed to be wrapped, did it well and efficiently, gave us all the documents we needed, and then when they arrived in Edmonton, it was the same thing. Arrived on time, unloaded everything efficiently, and carefully as well, placed it where we asked them to, and did it all quickly. The signing of the documents, agreeing to prices and the move was all done very smoothly and without any hiccups. If you're looking to put your trust in a company that will ensure your possessions are well handled and delivered without issues, I'd highly recommend Centennial Moving.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5200

I liked the system that allowed us to categorize and list our belongings. It allowed us to get a pretty accurate quote which helped us plan for the payment and avoid any surprises at the end. We did have a box that we wrote "Fragile" all over that was obviously at the bottom of the pile at some point because it was pretty banged up when it got to us. Thankfully we packed it well with lots of soft things around the fragile items, which saved them from damage! Nothing went missing or got broken.

My experience with centennial movers was 100% from the moment I sent in for an estimate and got a call from Lucy within a day. I was moving from Moncton NB to Ontario. she was always right there for me from day 1. I was quoted a price at the beginning for a 1 bedroom apartment and ended up being just a little cheaper than I was quoted. Even when I sent the final inventory list the price came down again. The drivers were quick and efficient and took special care of my belongings. They wrapped everything in blankets. Even my bike and bike rack were wrapped. I was emailed 3 days before the delivery men came and they called 15 mins before their arrival so I had plenty of time to be prepared. I was told they would be there between 9am and noon and they came promptly at 9am so no waiting around all day for them. The move from Nb went perfectly. When I got to Ontario I was given a date of the beginning of January. I left Nb beginning of December. I got an email that my delivery would be here in December so I got my furniture earlier than expected. I got everything off the truck and nothing was broken. They had taken special care of my things. I would definitely use them again. My experience door to door was flawless.

We recently moved from Toronto to Calgary and used Centennial Moving's services - packing and shipping. Our sales rep Jacob was very helpful and assisted through the entire process. The packing team was diligent and arrived on time on the day of the move and they ensured that every single item was packed properly so that it was not damaged during transit. We shipped almost all personal items from a 2 Bed room condo including furniture, electronics, books, toys and home decor. They took utmost care to ensure crockery, glass items, decor pieces were packed properly and marked FRAGILE wherever necessary. The delivery estimates were between 1-5 weeks and it arrived in 4 weeks and 2 days. We are very happy with the service and would definitely use them again if required. Highly recommended.

The transportation of my 1 bed apartment from Quebec to Toronto was outstanding. Departed on schedule and arrived on schedule. Mike, our foreman was very organized and showed great efficiency at both load and unload. He led well and had a good working relationship with his helpers. It all meant everything went properly. Great to see these guys with such a positive attitude. Not a negative thing to say about them. Centennial has some great movers and will keep this in mind for the future.

Just finished today with the packing and loading of our household goods. Moving from BC to Brampton ON. Wanted to let all know that the Centennial crew were excellent. They really have everything you would hope for in a move. Proficient (hard working) movers throughout the packing and loading. Careful, with no incidents. Pleasant and professional throughout the process. We have used other companies over the past 35 years on a number of long-distance and local moves. This Centennial crew are as good as any we have run into over the years. So looking forward to receiving my load in 10 days time, I feel safe knowing that the same excellence will be on display there.

My experience with Centennial was fantastic. They were speedy in order to provide the estimate, and the communication was the same on all my follow up questions. They gave a window of arrival and also drop off in Toronto and they stuck with it. And best part of all was they were quick and efficient with the load/unload. I was very impressed that they could get it all on due to my larger furniture pieces. They moved everything carefully with no damage. They handled everything perfectly. Both crews did a fantastic job and I'm so grateful for all their help. I'm so glad to have found this company for my move, and will recommend them to anyone in need of help moving.

Move from Toronto to Vancouver.

- I paid extra 1k for packing service, but the packing was not done very professionally (for which I do NOT blame the crew because they were overworked and exausted). The packing crew IS the moving crew (3 people in total) and they ended up working from 9am to 9pm on the moving day!

- THE BIGGEST problem I have with the moving company is that they sent insufficient crew members everytime! I told them and sent them pictures of how many things I have to pack and move, they sent 3 people to us in Toronto and only 2 people in Vancouver for moving funiture and nearly 100 boxes into a 3-story townhouse! Those 2 poor men were exausted! they didn't have enough time to rest, and there's no extra crew to help them or move heavy things in turns. We ended up telling them to put all our boxes in the living room and we had to do a lot of moving ourselves.

- No in-person estimation, I submitted my inventories and the actual price is a lot higher than my quote (which I accepted but it would be a lot better if there's in-person estimation before the quote).

To be fair, customer service Nicholas is fine and all the moving crew are helpful and nice people.

BUT Overall, will not recommend to anyone or use the company again because I don't think they treat their employees well. All the crew members are Ukrainians recently arrived in Canada, they deserve to be treated better :(

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $10800

I moved my belongings from Vancouver to Toronto. Like other reviewers I ended up paying twice the quotable amount for a 1 bedroom apartment weight. Funny, I didn't even have all the fixtures of a one bedroom I.e. bed frame, dresser etc. Just a mattress, no couch, side tables or anything and still my belongings weighed in at double the weight! The problem I had with this experience is I literally had to guide the process myself, ask all the questions, double check I wasn't going to be nickle and dimed with "extras" and was met with "silence" when I said I was unhappy with the service along the way and thus concerned. The patronizing attitude I got from the Store Manager made me sure that I was going to share my experience. We live in a capitalistic country, SERVICE MATTERS or you seek out the competitor. The Manager told me "I was wasting his time, he didn't see the problem and they can't guess all the questions people had out there. I likewise did not see a contract that would have allowed me to elect supplemental insurance or services. My goods arrived later than I was told, then they told me I would have to pay another $200 dollars if the truck/trailer couldn't fit on my street (they waived it later because my goods were received a full week later than expected). 1/4 of my framed pictures ended up arriving broken. Given the attitude of the business I didn't even bother to try and claim them. I'd had a terrible experience and just wanted it over with. I had requested additional packing and they told me I didn't. I picked this service based on the reviews and wonder if I just got the dud? But I dug a little deeper and noticed others have had the same experience. Next time, I'll take a bit more time on this. I think it does matter where you've learned your "Customer Service" training from. These folks bring to bear a non "north american" service model which means, they are always right and the rest of us are just lucky they are doing the work for us. If I hadn't asked consistently what are all the steps? Is there supplemental insurance I can purchase? When will my goods arrive? etc. etc. it was never offered up. I had to keep following up myself! Not good enough and given it ended up being more than double the quote with a weight that I couldn't verify and when asked if I could was told that would cost me extra too! Overall, avoid this service if at all possible.
