Centennial Moving

First time using this company and couldn't be happier! Everyone we spoke to through email, phone and in person were all very kind and helpful and answered all questions promptly. This was our first province to province move so it was important for us to find a company that would be with us every step of the way and make it as easy as possible. The pick-up process was quick (2-2.5 hrs) since our family had boxed and labeled everything ready to go. The moving crew was on time and helped us pack any items that needed extra padding. The drop off was also just as quick and all our items were handled with care with no damages. The movers we met for both the pick-up and drop-off were all very nice and funny. They made the whole process easy and stress free for us. We are thoroughly satisfied with the service that was provided and would definitely recommend them to everyone!

Overall, this is a positive review for Centennial Moving. It was a relatively smooth and pain free experience. It's a shame the pick up date can't be formally locked in to prevent any fears of it being cancelled just 48 hours before, but I'm not sure if that is industry standard.

Robert & Eric on email answered any question I sent their way and provided me with information when asked. The drivers and their team were professional. Nothing was broken, and all my items arrived within 30 days.

For some additional context:

- We didn't pack any furniture other than 4 dining chairs and a table top

- We packed everything ourselves

- No large breakable items such as mirrors

- We did include large glass picture frames, crockery, PC monitor, exercise bike, and a mattress (double bag it)

- We used 'heavy' moving boxes from home depot, some black plastic crates and heavy duty bags for the mattress

- We padded the inside bottom of each cardboard box, and left soft items on the top knowing they would be stacked to prevent damages

- We labelled and numbered each item ourselves

- We saran wrapped each box for extra protection

Quote & Communication pre-pickup:

Compared to other companies they were quick to respond for the initial quote, and gave me the info I needed with each follow up question.

Pick Up:

This might be common for other companies, but it is somewhat unnerving that your pickup could be cancelled 48 hours prior to your pickup date. We were contacted a week in advance that our driver couldn't make our initial date due to a family emergency (no complaints there, grateful we were told 7 days in advance) luckily the new date was just a day earlier than our initial date due to a cancellation. On the pickup day itself we were given a window of 12 to 4pm, but the team arrived at 10:30am which caused a bit of stress as we were finalising our packing. The team were a little confused at why we were given the original window of 12 to 4, but were professional and patient as we finalised our packing and took care putting the items in the truck.

It would be a nice improvement to receive a call that Centennial were on the way as we were caught a little off guard.

Transit period:

Not sure if other companies provide updates, but I found that I had to reach out to get the status of my delivery which wasn't great when a huge amount of my valuables are somewhere in the country. I did get an answer each time I emailed, with a rough ballpark of when it might arrive, but it would be great to receive some updates from Centennial without asking if possible. Just to know it was in transit.

Delivery:

Again I was given a date and time frame for the arrival of the truck, but this time the team gave me a heads up that they would be arriving within 15 minutes which was great. The team were considerate unloading all my items, taking the same amount of care for all of them and the payment by credit card was easy.

Everyone's experience is different, but the team and service made this a good one.

We had the pleasure of having a wonderful crew loading our belongings in Calgary for shipment to Guelph. All folks were extremely courteous, professional and very skilled in insuring our stuff was handled with care and respect. We have used Centennial in moves since 2019 and although we hope this is our last move, if we do move again we will call these professionals!! We can't say enough about the quality of all these folks. They all have a great attitude and are ready to make something as stressful as a move as pleasurable as possible. All of the movers were interested in our stuff and had suggestions as to where to place items and we enjoyed joking around with these wonderful folks. Don't even consider another mover for your move!!

A fantastic company and experience – five stars! I would like to thank Centennial for providing such a fantastic service in supporting our recent move. I, my husband, and our two small children (one aged two and the other aged 4 months) moved from the Montreal to Toronto area – not an easy undertaking at all, but thanks to you it was made smooth and incident-free! Everyone we spoke to at Centennial was exceptionally professional and helpful, and ready to answer any questions and amend quotes for us. The pick-up and delivery were timely and smooth, and the service was excellent value for money. They offer a range of options and services as well as support at every stage of the process, and I am delighted to be able to thoroughly recommend them!

This is an excellent moving company! Everything is super organized. When I first reached out to the company, I received all the information I needed from Robert Lazu. He answered all my questions very quickly. Different teams in the company collaborate very well. Before dispatching, Eric from the dispatch team contacted me and confirmed my delivery info. The drivers are always right on time as promised. Plus, they will do all the other preparation work to make the delivery smooth. For example, they would order the shuttle service beforehand if needed. For someone who hasn't got a chance to familiarize the new place and city, this is really helpful. Overall they are on top of everything. I highly strongly recommend this moving company!

I’m gonna start this review by saying that the actual movers, the guys putting the stuff in the truck were excellent and deserve a five star review. They were nothing but friendly and polite and very very efficient. The company itself is a gigantic pile of garbage that I would never ever use again for any move. We provided them with a detailed list of our belongings. We unfortunately underestimated the number of boxes that we had. We ended up with approximately double the number of boxes that we initially thought we would need. This meant that the actual weight of our move was significantly higher than what we were quoted . this is not the problem. The problem is that because we had a significantly higher weight our moving time has gone from 2 to 3 weeks to 5 to 6 weeks. This means my wife and I are sitting in a essentially empty apartment while all of our belongings are out there in the ether somewhere with this garbage company. Getting anyone on the telephone is like calling the Vatican, good luck getting through to an actual human being. My emails don’t get answered. The guy doing the actual move told me that he as a professional mover would have no idea how many boxes he would need two months before a move. Therefore the fact that I as an amateur can’t be faulted for under estimating our belongings. Do yourself a favour and do not use this company under any circumstances.
