They sent 5 guys to load our stuff and it took them almost 5 hours. Delivery day: Arrival was not until after 9:00 pm and only a driver (Sam) and helper. Could tell unloading was not going to end until early the next morning. Myself, wife, daughter, son-in-law, and 11 yr. old grandson all had to help unload----done at almost midnight. Still had to put bed together (Sam asked "how does this go?"), electric fireplace, dining room table, etc. together. Wife felt sorry for them and suggested they stop and call it a night, get some sleep, and come back tomorrow am. She brought coffee and donuts but no Sam!! He never came back; never called, and left the state! Still don't have our stuff put back together. Sam won't answer his cell phone anymore, and company just shuttles us off to other people to call. Now you know why they only accept cash or money orders at delivery---no way to cancel those!! They've got your money and you're stuck cleaning up the mess-----literally!! Guess it will cost me even more money to find some people locally who can put our things back together again. Use these people if you wish, but buyer beware. Lots of promises; some kept and some not. Gave them the option of discussing this issue before writing my review but as usual heard nothing from them.

California Relocation Systems made the entire process easy, and for that alone I am very grateful. The estimate was straightforward and made perfect sense, the estimators did their best to determine the size of the move and the movers themselves calculated the actual size of the move which was about 20% more but Tamer was very through with me and helped me understand how I was being charged. He helped me out with some of my precious antiques to make sure nothing happened them. I bought all of them dinner. I have never seen guys so grateful for pizza! They were all so nice. All of our belongings arrived in the given time window and everything had shown up as promised. We’re all relieved to have this done and over with, time to settle in to our new lives at home, work and school. I can’t complain about the final price and given that and how stress free the entire process was I’d certainly use them again in the future.

HORRIBLE company. Run, don't walk away from them!
They vastly under estimate their quotes and then charge you massive fees once your items have already been loaded.
Worse than the cost is the service. They didn't bring my items for almost 3 weeks.
The driver extorted an additional fee from me once they got to my place and refused to unload my goods until I paid them almost $200 in cash.
They LOST several of my items worth approximately $1,400 and offered me $53.40 as settlement 3 months later.
AVOID THIS COMPANY!

After weeks of non stop, phone calls my husband and I really liked Tom. CRS was not the least expensive by any means, but I trusted my gut. Tom took his time and answered all our questions. He didn’t tell us what we wanted to hear like some of the other pushy salesmen from other companies. We were getting told our items were getting delivered in less than a week From Los Angeles all the way to Nashville. We were also told the companies “happen to have a truck on that route” which could have been true but it sounded like a sales trick to me. I’m very skeptical of everything and this was no different. I saw some negative reviews but for some reason I trusted Tom. Tom spent hours on the phone with my Husband also. Move went great. TJ and his entire team were awesome. They asked about all of our sentimental items. What was very important before they started. Jim kept in contact with us and all our items were delivered in a timely manner. We got notified when out items were load, 48 hours out and then the night before. Nothing was severely damaged. The few things that were scratched George took care of. I’d personally recommend George, Tom, Jim, and Dawn and the entire Cali REelocation team to anyone looking for a moving company and Tom deserves a raise!

I regret using this company, and I hope my review might help save someone else the stress, hassle, poor service, and broken stuff that we have had to deal with.

We moved from C.A. To N.C. In our search for movers we contacted many companies and this one had the lowest price. However, when they showed up, the price doubled. We did have a bit more stuff than we expected, but not that much. Once they have your stuff loaded and getting ready to leave the state, you’re kinda stuck. They guarantee to have your stuff to you within 30 days, but when it’s late, they say, “we promise to get your stuff on a truck within 30 days.”

Their communication and follow through is terrible. They say they will call a few days before they arrive, but that call never came. They also said they would call a few days before delivery, again that call never came, and they called the day of and said, “we’re here”.

Every single box we had was smashed, or broken, some so badly that the box completely ripped open and the contents fell out. We are missing many items from small kitchen appliances, to a full box of baby clothes. When the delivery truck pulled up and they started to unload our belongings, they dropped my pellet smoker off the back of the truck.

All of our stuff was packed in a house that had monthly pest control. We never had a single cockroach, but now that we are at our new home, we have opened the boxes that weren’t already smashed open, and they are all full of cockroaches.

We also received some other people’s stuff mixed in with ours but we told the movers to take it. I’m sure a lot of our missing stuff ended up in some other state.

They will probably reply to this review and say that they did a great job and to file a claim for any damaged stuff, but don’t believe it. Please please please, go with a different company.

What immediately set California Relocation Systems apart from their mover counterparts was their customer service. From the time I contacted them, until the drop off of my things, they were consistently communicative and extremely systematic. I’ve come across companies that were disorganized and it really showed down to their customer service. This moving company had the total package and I’d be happy to recommend them to anyone who is planning a move from California to Florida.

DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS!! I WAS AN IDIOT AND BOUGHT INTO THEIR SCHEME. Kristin baited me at first with amazing costumer service, but as soon as the mover showed up it was a COMPLETE nightmare. Amount other things, they HUGELY overcharged us (original quote was just over 5,000 and we needed up paying 11,000), they didn’t bring a truck big enough for our items at pick up, they came at 1am and yelled profanities when picking up the other half of our stuff, they wouldn’t move all
of our items into the rooms we needed when they delivered our items, but MOST SIGNIFICANTLY now HALF OF OUR STUFF IS MISSING and NO ONE will call us back with an answer. (They even lost half of our sectional couch, part of our headboard and part of our sleep number mattress- so it is obvious that they are incredibly reckless with how they move and store items). Jim has hung up on both my husband and I on multiple occasions, Dawn won’t call us back regarding our lost items, and Kristin is now nowhere to be found after she pretended to care. We are now in the process of filing claims and making complaints through the FMCSA and BBB, but I cannot express in adequate words how AWFUL this process has been and how incredibly emotionally and physically draining it has been dealing with this company. Once again-DO NOT BE FOOLED!! PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. IT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE ON MY PART THAT I WILL BE LIVING WITH FOR A LONG TIME- for half of my life is now missing.

Cali Relocation Systems was the best moving company I've ever hired. I'm retired military and I've moved A LOT. I've used all of the major van lines. I was going to use them again but this time I was the one paying the bill. On past moves the military paid.  I never had to worry about the cost. Tom was the first person I spoke to (he called me as soon as I put my information online) he wasn't pushy, was very informative about the difference of a carrier and a broker and their DOT profile. I did see some concerning reviews but Tom gave me a good feeling. I spoke to 4 other companies and California Relocation Systems wasn't eh cheapest but Tom is also ex-military so that helped. Customer service was exceptional. Dawn and Cindy kept in contact with me and Jim answered the phone after midnight the night before the move when I had some last-minute questions. The day of the move Anas and his team showed up when they said they would. I heard from him about one hour prior to arrival. He had 6 guys that were ready to rock. He even brought be a cup of Joe from Starbucks. All around great experience. George gave me expedited delivery to Albuquerque. The guys didn't offload the truck. The same crew met me at my new home. They set up all of my beds, my dressers, tables and even helped my daughter with her dollhouse. Thank you so much for all help guys!

RED FLAG #1
We recently used them from L.A. to Chicago in July/August. First of all, when making our reservation we spoke with TOM who seemed nice and assured us that they have dedicated trucks and were not a broker - we believed him. He said we would receive a call 4+days prior to our pick up date to confirm our inventory, pick up date, etc. NOBODY EVER CALLED. We had to call them 2 days prior to our pick up.

RED FLAG #2
During pick up, SAM KHALIFA persisted to tell us that we needed 1800 cf of truck space. We moved from Chicago to L.A. a year before and only used 1200 cf so we knew how much space we needed on our return. SAM forced us to pay the additional charges for "1800 cf" even before the truck was loaded. He also left prior to the truck being loaded and never came back. Once the remaining "local" hired crew were done, they said they could not tell us how much cf we used in the truck.

RED FLAG #3
During loading, the crew had dropped 6+ stacked chairs on top of me, my husband, Sam and the mover himself, causing damage to all of our dining chairs. The crew assured us these would be repaired while at their loading facility (in Bell) prior to being shipped out to our final delivery location. FALSE. Our chairs arrived untouched and damaged from the fall.

RED FLAG #4
The whole entire time, SAM kept insisting we write him a positive review. Over and over again. We called him later in the day to reconfirm the chairs would be repaired and after he assured us they would be, he again asked us to write a positive review.

RED FLAG #5
During delivery of our items in Chicago, our items were delivered by "Roadway Moving" - a third party freight company and NOT a direct delivery truck of "Cali Relocation". So, Tom lied during our reservation calls.

RED FLAG #6
Also during delivery, the foreman had to use a porter truck to be able to unload our items at our place. He rented a U-Haul truck that was 26 ft long, our items had about 5 ft space to spare at the back, so doing our measurements we only calculated 1240 cf (as we initially knew). So, SAM, TOM, JIM, GEORGE, DAWN --- we'd like you to respond to our complaint and email. At this point your company has showed no integrity or honesty. You are aware about Sam's cockiness yet it seems to be a common experience here.

RED FLAG #7
A bunch of our stuff arrived broken. We are glad we purchased additional independent insurance. But CRS only offers 60 cents/lb - NEVER use this default with any company. Items that were broken:
- (2) filing cabinets whose wheels are bent beyond repair
- Patio furniture with metal legs bent
- Various boxes arrived SMUSHED
- Dining chairs damaged at pick up that were not repaired
- Dented stainless steel trash cans
- Broken XL outdoor planters

For all else reading this, DEFINITELY TAKE HEED IN ALL OF THE WARNINGS. Use someone else who will be HONEST.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $9465

I was moving to North Carolina and I received three bids from three different moving companies. One came out and did a walk-through, but I didn't like the way they acted and their price was twice as much as California Relocation Systems. The foreman Tamer came out to also do a walk through. I like they have the same guy that will be in your house on move day do the in home estimate. The other company that I talked to didn’t follow up on any questions and they offered half the price of what Colonial did. But I figured since they really weren’t giving me much attention, they didn’t want my business either. After speaking with all 3 it wasn't close who I would give the job to. I couldn't be happier with my decision. The price ended being about $754 dollars less than what Tamer gave me at the in home estimate. The delivery to Raleigh North Carolina took about 6 days. The guys at delivery were very nice and put all of my furniture together. The customer service was great. I'm happy we choose Cali Relocation Systems.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $9765

Well executed moving experience with a group of dedicated professionals who are highly motivated. This move was structured in a logical manner, which is why none of my belongings were damaged or lost. I’ve heard that these things are very common during a long distance move and this was my biggest concern going into the moving process.

But the California Relocation team insisted that this wouldn’t be an issue because of how they secure their customers belongings. Now after witnessing it for myself, I have no more reason to doubt them. I would use them again for a long distance move in a heartbeat. If you’re relocating from California to New York, call these guys and give them a try. Say Julene sent you!

I used California Relocation Systems recently for my long distance move and they did an outstanding job. Their crew arrived on time, packed all my furniture and fragile items and carefully loaded everything to their truck. They were very polite, efficient, fast and professional. My delivery was as scheduled, nothing was broken or damaged, and the price I paid at the end was very reasonable. An amazing experience. I’m recommending this moving company to everyone I know.

1,400miles, nothing was broken, no leakage of any kind and all this was on top of the fact that it had been in storage for 30 days between moves! Having an interval like this means that they had to move my items at least 3 or 4 times. But what motivated me to write the recommendation was my two delivery guys, both named Angel. Wow.. They were so concerned to not just to get the right bed in the correct room but aim the bed the right way and get it located just right. And the younger of the two Angels was concerned that that he find the the little handmade cardboard box containing the glass insets to go in my bedside table indicated on the item list. Little things like that. I mean these were big 230-240lbs dudes, strong as ox but still actively concerned about the details. They went out of their way to make the delivery as quick and as cheap as possible. Recommend CRS without hesitation .. and just hope that I get the two ANGELS again! Peace!

I booked my family’s move across the country with California Relocation Systems and in hindsight I have to say that I made a fantastic choice. The main concern that my husband and I had was the timing of the move- with three kids it’s not the easiest thing to pack up and go a couple of thousand miles to a new home. Clothes, furniture, really everything is out of reach for a period of time. The good news is that our belongings were delivered quicker than we expected and everything made it through just fine. The furniture, the kids’ toys, even my husband’s golf clubs were delivered without a scratch. On top of that they even arranged to have one of our cars transported so the whole family could make the drive in one vehicle. As a mother that was very important to me so I could keep my eye on everyone and help to make sure that we all arrived safe and sound.

I did my homework, it was up to me to budget the move and get the best possible service at a reasonable price. I can safely say that I succeeded, the price was fair and the quality of the move was everything that I hoped it would be. Five stars California Relocation Systems, thank you for making a very difficult situation easier than I expected, if my husband gets transferred again we’ll use your company next time for sure.

Avoid this company like the plague. I was quoted one price when I provided a detailed list of items I was planning on taking and was told that based on those estimates that I was only using 50% of the paid for space. I ended up taking less than what I told the person giving me the quote and when my items were picked up the price doubled. Not sure what their computation for estimated cubic feet was, but it was way off. So after having to shell out more money, and of course they didn't give me the new estimate until all the items were on the truck, my belongings leave my possession. Right away I provide my dedicated rep who told me they would be my point of contact throughout the move the day I can receive my items because they said it will be up to 14 business days from that date before I receive delivery on the other end. That was 27 business days ago and I still don't have confirmation that my items are even on their way.
First the excuse was weather, then they said the truck that they were expecting to pick up my stuff didn't show. Then they start telling me that the reason for the delay was my dispute about the large change in price, even though this hasn't been brought up at all and no one will even respond to any of my phone calls and I'm lucky if I get a text.
From start to finish they have lied, not followed through on promises, and been completely unresponsive. Most amusing thing is their outgoing message for the phone that no one answers says how much they value great customer service. What a freaking joke. DO NOT give these people any of your money.

I was moving for work and found California Relocation Systems on Google. I have to be very carful on who I hire because I have extremely expensive furniture. I took three quotes per the regulations of my employers and decided on moving forward with Michael. Michael was very friendly and was meticulous on going through my entire inventory and explaining how my antiques, paintings, china, and most importantly my sports memorabilia was going to be packed. His quote wasn’t the cheapest but Michael made me feel the most comfortable out of all 3 companies I spoke to. I received a welcome call from a nice lady named Dawn whom went through the complete process of my move then emailed me a recap of the conversation. She explained to me they will bring all of the packaging materials and do everything for me and didn’t have to worry about anything. I also bought the full valuation insurance from Bakers International. Robert and his crew showed up the day before the move to do a walk through and give me a revised estimate. Our move was done over the phone with Michael so I wanted to make sure the price would not change. Michael’s quote was pretty much dead on. Everything Michael explained to me at the beginning was how it went on moving day. Robert and his team took their time made sure I was comfortable with how my more expensive items were being packed. I have 2 small children. One of the guys was so kid with them. Played with them while I was doing the walk through with Robert and being extra nice to my wife (who was extremely nervous). Robert and his team were on time both days. I was so happy with the job they did. I had to be at work the following day which was a Friday. I paid extra for a guaranteed delivery day and they were right on time. It took them 3 days to get to us. Bright and early Monday morning Robert and his team were there ready to roll. It took them all day but they unpacked and reassembled all of my beds, tables, and even hung my 80 inch Television. I bought all of them dinner and got to know Robert on more of a personal level. I can’t say enough about California Relocation Systems. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for great service and a truly great moving experience.
