Move from Maryland to California. Supervisor of the unpack was very unprofessional. Much to familiar with me, and denigrated the other movers on the job who were doing all the work he did very, very little. Broke a shelf to a cabinet in front of me because he handled it carelessly, and then showed no remorse. Just told me to put a claim in. They damaged several items in the move. Fortunately, none were irreplaceable. I expected there might be some damage on a cross-country move, but it was more that I was disturbed by the laissez-faire attitude about it. Instead of an apology, it was, "Oh, that's broken. Hm. Well, you can make a claim.".
SCAM ALERT!! The sales guy Rob C is a complete liar. The company is very misleading and everything they do is in such a way in that you cannot fight the charges. ** Bay Flower Moving Group (not May Flower Moving Company) is really just a front for North American Master Lines (not North American Van Lines). Asked him several times if his company was in someway related to North American Master Lines (http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/moving-and-storage-companies/north-american-master-lines-in-hallandale-beach-fl-90062254) and he said several times he had never heard of them. He claimed that they "owned" their own trucks but the movers for pickup showed up in a North American Master Lines truck! I have a picture to prove it! ** When we were setting everything up with them like our pickup and "first available delivery date", we needed to have a couple day window as to when our stuff would arrive as we were moving across the country and I was planning on driving my cars out and my family then fly in after our stuff arrived. Rob told me the scheduled truck had to be on the other side of the country by January 2nd so he assured me that the truck would there by the 29th or 30th of December. So this is what we planned all of our travel around. Our stuff was pickued up on the 22nd of December. When I arrived to our final destination, I called to see where the truck was. I couldn't get a hold of Rob (see below) so I called customer service and she told me that my stuff was still at the origin distribution site waiting to be packed onto the semi! I was shocked as that meant it was still at least 3 days away and my family was coming the next day, expecting to see a house with a lot of boxes. She continued to tell me that a move of this length would be at least 7-17 business days. We had to buy a lot of stuff just to live. My stuff was finally delivered today on January 6th. ** We gave him an itemized list of everything we had in our 3 bedroom townhouse and he gave us a "estimate" for $3,200 for 766 Cubic Feet (~$4.20 per cubic foot plus their fees) sounded great to us as this was the same amount of money to rent a U-Haul. What I should have done was the math to figure out the linear feet in a truck this be. Based on an 8ft wide and 8.5ft high box truck, it left me with 11 linear feet in the truck which would never fit all of our stuff. He told me on the phone that the movers would have a line in the truck and when they got to that point they would say, "Would you like us to continue packing?". They were also suppose to do a quick estimate of whether they thought it would fit in the allocated space. Both of these they never did, they just kept packing the whole truck which was 1600 cubic feet. At the end, the total cost was $7,400!! ** When the movers came to pick up our stuff, they made me sign the contracts before they started packing. One of the key things in the contract is I would under any circumstances fight the charges with my credit card company. They made me sign a materials contract that said I would pay for whatever materials they felt were "necessary" for the items being packed. On that list was packing tape which I thought was weird and they charged $4 per roll. I thought to myself, how much tape could you possibly use on a few pieces of furniture? They used over $400 worth of tape as they would literally wrap one piece of furniture (with furniture cover) with several rolls of tape. Some of their contracts were actually from other companies that they just blacked out the name of. Very unprofessional. ** Rob sounded very sincere over the phone. He's a sales guy though. From the beginning he said his phone was on 24/7 if I ever needed to contact him. Before our move, this was true. When I tried contacting him wondering when our stuff would be delivered, he stopped answering my phone calls. I called him about every hour that day (29th) and no response. Left him a voicemails. He did eventually give me a call back and said he would look into it. I didn't hear back. Called him over and over again the next day and still no response. I used my fathers phone, which has a different area code, to call him and he answered! After I learned he was screening my calls, I knew he was just a big ol' liar. He gave me some lame excuses but it didn't matter. I confronted him on everything that was going on (ie different companies, the tape fiasco, improper practices of pickup movers, delivery date..) and he had lots of excuses. He said he would talk to the owner about it the next day and get back to me. Never heard back. ** Delivery! When we got the call that our stuff was finally being packed on the semi and would be delivered in 3-5 days, we were elated! The truck driver called me on the 5th saying that he would be here the next day and said I needed CASH for the remaining balance of a little over $3,000. I got a money order as the invoice said that I could. I filled out the money orders making them out to Bay Flower because I was told that they only use their own trucks. The truck driver got frustrated because he worked for a different moving company and couldn't accept them but after some arguing he did. He then counted my stairs and said because I have more than 7 stairs, they would charge extra. Rob and the customer service rep told me this only applied to outdoor steps when I had asked him about it earlier. So I had to pay him $150 extra since they had all of our stuff. They worked hard and were nice but very shady when it came to company names. It took me several times to get out of the truck driver what company he actually worked for. **Stay away from them! It's not worth the hassle.
I was not excited to move out west, mainly because I had never been to the west coast before, and because I knew that it would cost me a small fortune to move the little things that I had, out there. Luckily I found Bayflower Moving Groupvwho were able to offer me a great deal going cross country. But what's more important is that their reviews made me feel like my items would be handled well, since frankly if they weren't work a lot to begin with, I wouldn't even bother moving them. I was happy, as well, that they were able to crate my television for free, since I couldn't be bothered to do it myself. The movers were polite, the job was done quickly, and the delivery didn't take as long as I had anticipated. All in all a great move that really made the whole experience of moving a lot easier.
Here is my experience with bay flower. I needed a mover from NJ to fl, so I put my information online and was contacted by bay-flower as well as several others. Bay flower was the last to contact me and I was about to go with a different mover where they told me they saved me from a broker situation, so I put my trust in them and boy was I was wrong. They told me they were actual movers and not brokers and that this price I had was binding. Before the actual pick up they were very respectful and looked promising. So they came to pick my belongings up and they came with individuals that looked like they haven't slept in days, so anyways they come to tell me my cubic feet was higher then expected they then tripled my price. So I had to take this price because I had to get out of my place and had no other options. So after I got forced into this ridiculous situation, I then went far into looking up this so called "Bay-flower" which by the way they use that name to trick you into thinking they are mayflower, they were other known as north American master lines who has the same problems tripling prices and breaking and stealing items. If you are moving stay far away from these phonies before you are stuck like me. I will not stop until they are stopped I can promise you that.
**stay Away From Bayflower Aka North Amercian Masterlines **.
Here's my experience with this sad excuse of a business. I found this company online by there reviews, they seemed to be very reputable and could handle this move from fl to TX. They gave me a binding price over the phone where I pressed the issue of a in-home, they explained that the guaranteed this price and it would not change so I put my trust in them. When they got there before they even put anything on the truck they said I had 2000 more cubic feet then what was estimated and my price went from $2700 to $7000. They are con artist and said that any other company who came out would have charged me more and acted like they were doing me a favor. That is why I wanted a in-home, so I had already gave a deposit for 800 so I pretty much had 2 options let them keep the 800 and risk this again and go with someone else or deal with this bait and switch static. My stuff when delivered took almost a month where they said 5 days and my items were broken and some stuff was missing. Please do your self a favor and stay far away from these crooks. They are better known as north American master-lines who was a scam company but they now changed there name to bay-flower which is not! Mayflower. Do not get confused please. They also bury bad reviews with fake good reviews. Stay away!
My husband and I went with Bayflower Moving Group for our move to Florida just last weekend. These guys were just awesome as far as a moving company possibly could be! I can honestly tell you that the way that they handled themselves was pure professional. They came and picked us up, did all of the packing and such.
So when they arrived to our new home and unpacked everything, they were just awesome, again! Unpacked in a very efficient manner, all of our items were in the same condition. They even put all of our furniture back together!! Wow! Thanks guys for a great moving experience, I hope everyone can enjoy that as well:-).
We just used Bay flower Moving Group to move from a townhome in the Laurel, MD to a small home in Miami, FL.The crew of three showed up at the front end of the 1 hour arrival window. They called the day before to confirm again, they called 40 minutes prior to arriving to let us know, and the dispatcher texted me twice during the day to check in and make sure all was going well. These guys worked their butts off moving our stuff. They were hauling large pieces of furniture up those stairs all afternoon, carrying items on their backs, and hardly breaking a sweat. The whole time they stayed friendly and courteous. The flat rate that was given to us was very reasonable. I remember using movers years ago and getting charged for every little thing, even the rolls of tape. Bay flower Moving Group just gave me one price and I didn't have to think about the specifics. They delivered our items the following morning. Finally with about all of the boxes unpacked nothing was broken but a few of my old shoes were missing, soon to find out that was my husbands doing. So yes, these guys were pretty much awesome.
Best moving experience. Thank you Bayflower moving.
OK. Choosign the mover was stressful. It was difficuld to understand the quotes and to feel comfortable with a stranger moving us. However after speaking with Dave at Bayflower moving we felt confident in their service and credentials and we were not let down. They came on time and were professional from start to finish. They wrapped and packed all my goods nicely and we had no damages. we were thrilled with their workmanship and just wanted to thank them again. Keep up good work Bayflower!!
We had BayFlower move us to North Florida for business reasons. We couldn't have asked for a better move to be honest. They really took great care of me and my family. BayFlower did all of our packing for us, it was a little bit more expensive but was worth it I can honestly tell you that!! We are very happy with their services that they provided to us. Happy family we are that all of our household goods were in good hands!!
BayFlower Moving Group was able to deliver the consignment one day early than specified date. I received a call from their office to confirm their arrival with my belongings. A large truck appeared in front of the apartment I reside. There was no notably smashed or scratched item found. Our owner in old apartment had stern rules. The movers were quite adaptable with strict regulation to load on truck. They brought sufficient cartons and pad for trolleys. The pad prevented the trolley from dragging and making sound. They did let me have good piece of mind while the drove off the move. I would highly suggest them.
