Long-distance move from Cincinnati, OH to Los Angeles, CA

A nightmare/Horrible Experience. Had to hire an Attorney

Over the course of my 21-year career, I have moved domestic and international over 15 times. This was by far the worst experience with a mover. My experience with this organization has been extremely concerning.

1. They lost my 65" High Definition television. And several items were delivered damaged.

2. After waiting three (3) weeks for household goods to be delivered, movers delivered several boxes that do not belong to me. These items belong to another customer.

3. After several Months, these boxes are still located in my home. They have failed to make arrangements to deliver these boxes to their rightful owners.

4. After paying for 12 Months of storage upfront in full, I received emails every Month demanding additional monthly payments.

5. After receiving four (4) Months advance notice of my scheduled delivery date, it took an additional three (3) weeks past the scheduled date to deliver household goods.

6. I was given incorrect and misleading information seven (7) times when contacting the organization. They cast the appearance of having contempt for the customer with no sense of urgency to resolve issues.

7. They stated they never received the claim forms sent by certified mail and signed for by one of their employees.

8. After they stop returning my phone calls and no longer responded to my text and emails, I had to secure the assistance of an attorney and contact the BBB, FMCSA and Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS) for help.

Long-distance move from Cincinnati, OH to Sherman, TX

Beware of this company.

Upon initial hire, things ran smoothly. As soon as a contract was signed, the trouble began. An original estimate of 1398.00 went up to 1798.00 and items were even removed from original inventory.

When it was time for pick up, the drivers were 4 hours late. I was also told I would pay at delivery of goods and they would accept a credit card. Well, that changed as well. They only wanted cash or money order and could not give me a delivery date.

Each time I spoke with this company, information changed. Nothing was consistent. Do NOT use this company. They will take your money and try to run.

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to San Diego, CA

Terrible experience.

I hired North star Van Lines and they sub contracted me out to the worst moving company out there. Not only did they take forever in delivering my belongings, 4 weeks, nearly everything had some sort of damage. My antique vanity mirror was smashed and much of my furniture was scratched and broken. I submitted a claim and they waited 40 days to turn it over to their insurance company. Don't use these people!

Long-distance move from Palm Coast, FL to Henderson, NV

Bad Move.

First Unique was scheduled to show up at my house to begin the moving process between 9 and 11 am on Feb. 22, they finally showed up at 3. That was the start of the nightmare. It took them until March 19 to get my furniture to Nevada and charged me over an additional $1,186.00 to unload, in effect holding my belongings hostage. Several boxes were severally damaged, and as a result, all the contents were broken, shattered really. My couch was dirty and had a tear in the back, computer broken, dining room table missing (the legs and chairs made it) a toolbox full of new tools such as a drill, and 2 boxes are nowhere to be found. Forget getting any customer service. If I had known that Roadway out of Jacksonville was going to farm out my belongings to a company like Unique, I would NEVER have used them. By the way, that Roadway is not the real Roadway but a shotty company using the same name.

Long-distance move from Raleigh, NC to Philadelphia, PA

Well only one item severely damaged and one item lost. :-P.

They were assigned to move me from NC to PA by White Glove Van Lines. Apparently it is a thing that one moving company sets you up with another one. Without me realizing it, one driver+helper was loading me up, then my stuff was being passed on to another driver+helper. But there was no delivery date - I just had to wait an pray they didn't run off with my possessions. When my stuff still didn't come days later, they told me the driver had been busted in Virginia. When my stuff finally came it turned out it had been moved to Florida and then up to Pennsylvania. Finally, they wouldn't move me in until I paid the balance of the agreed upon amount. Had to pay cash. In the end, a cherished end table was broken in half, and one box of stuff was gone. I also got a box that didn't belong to me. Awful experience, but they did move a lot of stuff, and only broke one thing and lost another. :-P.

Long-distance move from Florida to California

Worst moving company ever.

I paid $9000 for white glove and got anything but. Loose knives dumped in a box; every piece of furniture scratched, dented or broken; delivery over a week after promised date. I have done 4 moves long haul and this is the absolute worst I have had. No attention detail or care for my items. A treasured memorial item dedicated to my mom who passed away crushed into pieces and left on the lawn with no regard. This company is about the money only and will treat your stuff with no respect, do not use them!!

Long-distance move from Beachwood, OH to Boynton Beach, FL

If the other poor reviews didn't convince you to run..Read further.

I live in FLA. Moving my family things from Ohio after death of mother. This company, Unique Van Lines, may be provided as a 3RD PARTY in a move (you won't know until several days before). Awful from beginning to end. And, it's not over yet from my position. THESE FOLKS HAVE ALL KINDS OF COMPLAINTS THROUGH THE BBB. LEAVE YOUR DEPOSIT AND RUN AS FAST AS POSSIBLE TO A DIFFERENT PROVIDER.

When they didn't arrive during the first or 2nd window of time (total: 9 hours without showing or calling) day one of scheduled move, I could have found another company to move me that day, and wish I had. 1. Be sure you have a BINDING estimate with the original organizer of the move or the charges may go up several times for all kinds of reasons, which I thought ludicrous. I had everything ready to go and packed BUT furniture and things I could not box. They arrived and immediately wanted to charge more for everything from packing supplies to cubic feet to weight.

2.Know that you can't be assured of the Pick up date. They ignored the 2 dates originally scheduled~condo lease ending~ I waited 7 hours day one in a vacant home for their arrival. NO call (I called them when they didn't show), and they didn't show until 3pm the next day. Weren't reachable by phone during the 2nd 7am-10am window of pick-up. They were more than 1 full date later arriving to move. LIED AND SAID TRUCK BROKE. Seriously? That's as good as dog eating homework..

3. They are non-responsive via phone and so is their 3rd party arranger (before and after 9-5) who I contracted the move through originally.

4.Valuable antiques and family heirlooms are destroyed. Save yours and hire someone else.

5. Regardless of their lies and untrue statements, the furniture and boxes ALL go to storage IMMEDIATELY (mine were to come straight south without storing but were clearly exiting a DIFFERENT TRUCK 1 week later). After seeing lampshades that broke (in boxes marked "fragile"everywhere), the LACK of care packing and moving was astonishing. They placed furniture in boxes WITH breakable items?! As one reviewer mentions~looks like they played soccer with blanketed furniture.

6. They make you pay cash when they arrive with belongings, BEFORE seeing all the damage (IE: stuff isn't unloaded until they are paid). Thousands of dollars worth of damage here seen AFTER unloaded.

7. One item missing. And besides negligence, there has been no follow up to find it.

If this review and others here didn't convince you~go look at BBB's reports. This company also changed locations a year ago (different miami address) and claim to be a different company. They are the same.

Beware Beware. Really Be aware of this company. :(.

After our truck was loaded by Unique Vanlines on 8/27/18, they informed us we had more than estimated. We had to pay them additional right then otherwise they'd remove our stuff from the truck right into a the alley way (which is where the truck was being loaded). We feel this was under duress.

9/5/18 the company contacted me, saying our stuff would be loaded on a truck today but we had to pay $1000.00. I told them this wasn't correct. He said in order for it to go out on the truck I need photographic evidence of a money order. Again I told them it was incorrect. I contacted Interstate Moving Company to help get things sorted, they hired them for us. We didn't pay the additional grand on the 5th, our stuff was not loaded on their available truck.

~9/12/18 unique vanlines got in touch with me stating that the additional grand was a clerical error. That our stuff would be on the way.

If it weren't for their clerical error our stuff would have been on the way 9/5/18.

We received 3/5ths of our belongings on 9/17/18. The fella they gave the job to was only given a partial amount of our things to deliver. When we pointed out that we wouldn't send table legs and not a table top, etc and I had the paper work with the box numbers did he agree that the full amount wasn't delivered and made note of that on my forms. It was in my right not to give them the full amount due as the full amount was not there so I withheld a portion.
We paid for a full service move yet they sent one person to do this and he arrived around 11:00 p.m.

It took Interstate moving company and us continuously contacting them to finally receive the remainder of our belongings. Unique Vanlines said they sent us over half of our belongings within the 30 days that it doesn't count against them. Essentially they gave us the rest of our stuff as a courtesy. They knocked $200.00 off delivery.

The remainder (almost) came at 11:30pm 10/21/18. 2 missing boxes they cannot locate, a missing picture box containing our own art work, and wedding photos, etc. They said they were unable to recover these items.

All 5 shelves damaged, both desks gouged, end table trash-worthy, table top and entertainment center scratched up (the blankets that were once very secure on pick up were essentially falling off and some of the labels were attached to the items instead of the blanket). CD shelf punctured, and heavy duty boxes smashed due to improper stacking practices or lack of care.

This ordeal caused an extreme amount of stress to myself, my husband, and my family. They put us under duress, held our items ransom for a grand and only when that would not work they sent 3/5 of our items, a calculated amount, so they wouldn't get reprimanded for exceeding 30 days which by all accounts they did because our items should have gone out on the 5th if it were for their shiesty antics.

My husband had enough and ended up filming about it on his youtube channel.
They've put us through enough that people should know about it so they don't end up in the same situation.

My move.

Run Run as fast as you can if they pull up to your home.. Horrible would be a polite way to express my move. My contract was originally with Charter Lines, and if they call you especially a Richard hang up. These are not movers they are not even want to be movers. Charter bids your contract out apparently to the losest of low.
It Took Unique to load my apartment 7 hours. they had no tools needed to go but tools no stickers had to wait for stickers to arrive they tried to have me sign blank contracts so they could raise the price then proceeded to lose my dining room set and ruined my bedroom set along with my daughters and all I get is sorry for your inconvenience you take peoples personal belongings and life long items and ruin them. When they delivered my things it was a different truck and boys they hired of of Craig list, I even helped unload the truck. they were also unloading furniture that did not belong to me and I had them load t back up I get thanks for being honest. apparently whoever has my dining room hutch is not an honest person I kinda wonder if its not the movers take your things in lieu of short pay.. My daughters mattress had holes in it her box spring all ripped my mattress was wet and stained and the bed frame cracked..
then if Unique show up on your door step your better off moving your self.

Long-distance move from Loganville, GA to Austin, TX

Terrible movers, they break furniture and up costs.

I used Unique Van Lines because I was getting a good price and their stated expertise at moving grand pianos. I also made the mistake of not purchasing additional insurance. TERRIBLE MISTAKE!!

This company sub contracts all its work, so they don't have any quality control. They will not talk to you in person once you are under contract, that speaks volumes.

They arrived, doubled the cost, and had none of the necessary equipment for moving a piano. The head mover was looking up moving pianos on his phone.

Piano wasn't packed and transported properly, hinges on the lid were broken. $1000 to repair. Also they destroyed the washing machine (dented hard enough that the side touched the tub), Knocked a side off the china cabinet, which caused the glass door to come out of its groove and break.

They also only sent 2 people to pack up my things in the truck, which as I said included a grand piano.
I think you could recruit people off the street and get a better job. Save yourself some heartache and look elsewhere.

So don't be fooled by the cheap price, it lures you in and then you're stuck with untrained movers who don't care.

One star because I can't go lower.

Move GA to TX.

Overall we are disappointed in services provided for our move.

We are not novices at moving so we know what can occur during a move. This was our worst move in 10 domestic and overseas moves.

We explain below our evaluation of

Mover Selection – We chose poorly

Pick Up and Delivery dates – Pick up delayed causing problems with incoming residents, delivery 20 days after first available date.

Work ethic of Pick Up and Delivery crews

Communication process with movers – Very Poor

Claim Process – Disappointing

We used Unique Van Lines after contracting with a broker go between. We were not aware they were brokers and not movers themselves. This kinda confused us, but it wasn't until those last few days before our move that we were informed it was a different company.

Our pick up date slipped by 2 days. This created a conflict as we had less time to clean up before the incoming occupants arrived. The mover showed up in a 'rental' truck and the boxes that I thought I had paid for to cover our mattress & box springs did not show up, they were placed in plastic bags. It was implied that they would be placed in boxes at the storage facility. When they arrived at our new address the mattress had the plastic bag on it, but the box spring had nothing on it, and in fact it had been transported on the outside back of the truck and was wet and muddy.

The delivery time was also confusing, it was indeed in the contract but not clear at all to us that the delivery could be anywhere up to 21 BUSINESS days after our requested delivery date. We actually wondered if the delivery would happen at all. As the delivery came, it was also in a 'rental' truck. The mover and his crew were removing things from the truck and taking them into the house so quickly and not paying any attention to the inventory log at all. In fact there was very little attention paid to the inventory on both ends of the move. Due to the muddy condition of the box spring, it was concealing the fact that the bed frame had been broken (and we were not informed). There were several broken, chipped and damaged items, and several significant items were missing, did not arrive of delivery. Since the inventory had not been checked off properly, it was not detected for a few days. There was also a piece of furniture that they tried to leave with us that was not ours (we had them take it with them).

We took some time reviewing everything and did submit a claim for our damaged and missing pieces. We did send the claim to an incorrect address, but did receive a return receipt for the claim. No one contacted us to inform us of our error. Nothing more was done in processing until we contacted them for follow up. Nat that point we were given an option to send our claim documents via email for processing. We did that, and again waited and did not receive further action until we contact the van line again. This second submission was not sent till a few days before the Christmas – New Year period. We expected a delay in processing but felt totally ignored. Again no action until we initiated re contact.

A settlement was offered, per contracted specifications. But we are very disappointed in the settlement, and the lengths it took to get it resolved.

MISSING BOXES, 3 MONTHS LATE

Do not book. Fraudulent company. I hired the broker Alliance Van Lines who then hired Unique Van Lines to handle my move from Florida to California. Pick up date was September (the first week). They finally delivered Christmas Day (December 25). Over 3 months of waiting and spending a lot of money to buy things I already had in my boxes. Every time I called Unique or Alliance asking where my stuff was, I got excuses and no answers. Customer service was horrible. When the boxes arrived, they were all rummaged through and broken. Oh- and HALF OF MY BOXES WERE MISSING. The truck driver called the company who told him they accidentally left HALF OF MY STUFF IN STORAGE IN FLORIDA. How is that even possible? So I learn the day of delivery that 10 boxes are missing!? Extremely unprofessional, scammers, and they should be out of business. I am planning to take legal action and work in the television industry. I will make sure their shady practices are highlighted all over the news in South Florida. This was a nightmare experience. Please do not use Unique or Alliance. They are criminals!!!

Long-distance move from Ohio to Arizona

Never Use Again!

This is the moving company I got when signing up with National Moving Group, Inc. for my move from Ohio to Arizona. I was told by National Moving Group, Inc. delivery would be 4-10 days from 6/19/14. However, when my belongings were picked up the driver stated a federal law has to have a 15 business days out date to be added to contract but would not change original agreed terms of delivery. I needed a fast, smooth delivery because of a handicapped family member moving with me who needed their bed. Once everything was picked up, the excuses started including long distance from Ohio to Arizona, truck broke down, no driver available, you are our top priority, we are loading you today but not done for many days and anything else that I could be put off with. Frank and Ashley from National attempted to contact Karin at Unique Van Lines to resolve but both parties did not put the customer first and resolve this matter promptly and professionally.  Several of our items are missing and damaged, crates were broken and repacked, brand new riding lawn mower was broken not to mention 31 days to deliver. The delivery driver cursed in front of my family and did not assemble our items that were unassembled. I remained in contact by email, phone, and text with both companies in a calm and professional manner throughout this delivery process. Neither company resolved this issue and did not care. .

Don't believe what's promised!

I was hoping to write a positive review when my move was said and done, but unfortunately this is not the case. I trusted Ben when he gave me the quote and date of delivery. I was told my stuff will be delivered around June 2nd or the 3rd, and it was delivered on Monday June 9th. I was lied to from the start. I had other choices I could have gone with, but decided to go with them because Ben was nice and very helpful, until I signed the contract, I've never heard back from him again. You would expect a call to see how everything went.. not the case. I called so many times trying to get some answers and to make sure they understood the sense of urgency with my delivery, however all I got was staying on hold while they said were trying to find out about my delivery etc. There are many companies I checked with and rec'd quotes from and I went with them because of pricing and communication with Ben. I spoke to Patricia, Maria, Karin and Josh in the office. I have to say that Karin didn't show any care of feelings of any kind while I explained the situation to her. The customer service received from them was not the best by any means. It was unfortunate for us that we went with Unique because we had ample time to get settled in before starting to work, but becuase of the lies and carelessness on their part our move was chaotic and stressful. We were blessed to have friends in the area that we stayed with because otherwise we would have paid for hotel and meals. I would say be careful of  promises to you and make sure you are not in a deadline situation for delivery. I hate to write negative reviews, but hate to see anyone else go through the same we did. I thought I had done my homework.. if your move is not close by and has to be re moved again..maybe they are not the right company for you. We had many items broken and a table pedestal cracked due to so much moving back and forth. I'm not going to bother doing a claim because it would be a waste of my time after the little care I have received from them. You be the judge if Unique is the right company for you.

Beware a fraudulent company.

Beware guys, I have had a very Bad experience with this transportation company Unique Van Lines, when I called initially there was this person called Brian picked up the call and asked for the inventory list and gave me quote for a 1 Bedroom stuff basically of about 1350 and tell me this is a door to door service no extra charges apart from what is given in the quote and then the Driver turns up (from Platinum Van Lines) on the day we have to vacate and packs your stuff and revises the quote and says the cubic feet now has gone up (even when you don't add any inventory from your initial quote/Contract) as per him my couch is too big suddenly, they I asked why it's a regular couch he says no it's not a regular couch and not a regular TV stand and adds $250 , not only that he adds Packaging for tape they used to wrap my inventory, about 13 tapes and a cardboard to cover the glass doors of the TV stand (mind that it's not a box where my TV stand went in it's a card board used to cover the mirror and wrapped it with tape they added $110 ..now u can imagine what would be the cost for tapes and a cardboard from Walmart and suddenly from nowhere he tells me that they have carried it more than 75 feet and adds up $ 153. And they add up the 7 % fuel charge on top of it. The sales person said there wouldn't be any charges apart from the given Quote.when you talk to the people in their Office no one answers your questions they either don't answer you or they either don't pick your call, or they tell you they have to wait for the driver to give them the information to see why he added, I had to nag them asking why are these extra charges added when the sales guy told me there wouldn't be any additional charges. Now after nagging them for  10 days to know why they have added these additional charges they say it is in the contract and the quote is always incorrect as the person giving the quote didn't see the inventory in Person. Isn't that stupid to tell that? They are in the business of transportation and when I say a regular TV stand or a king Mattress or a regular Couch they will always calculate the maximum Cubic feet for that Item isn't it?The sales person will fool you first with wrong information and then the driver and office people will cheat and rob you with additional charges.Giving a quote of 1350 and I had to pay 1900 finally. And the worst part is the delivery came after 3 weeks. So please beware of these 2 companies Unique Van Lines and Platinum Van Lines.

Unique VanLines Miami FL.

This experience was bad from the beginning when I weas told my belongings would not switch vans from my old home to my new home,  When my belongings arrived, they were stacked into a maze in the van.  The drivers were drinking, they were throwing boxes from the top of the stack to the movers who may or may not catch them when tossed.  Half of my things were damaged or missing, such as my mattress looked like it was run over with a truck, and they "professionally" wrapped it!  There was not one box I could save and reuse as they were all damaged.  One driver laughed when he unwrapped a lamp they had "professionally" wrapped and it was broken in pieces.  The move was in October and after moving to different claims adjusters, they have given me my .60 per lb in damages, with no consistancy on their weight at all.  Father and Sons claims they are no longer using this company, and the BBB rates them a C-.  There is nothing good I could say about this company and their customer service.  They do not return phone calls.  You have to bagger them.  That is not a good way to do business.  Never again.

Horrible Moving Company.

This moving company is terrible.  They were late picking up & delivering my belongings.  They ruined my bed,box springs, cloths and several other items.  They also stole a very expesnsive ski bag that consisted of brand new snow skis, boots, poles and snow ski apparel.  They have not been apologetic in any fashion nor have they done anything to rectify their complete negligence.  Their costumer service has been nothing but rude from the beginning to the end.  The owner, Karin didn't have the common courtesy to respond to several of my emails just to apologize.  They are very unprofessional and terrible business people.  Stay far away from them as possible and do NOT use their services. .

Poor Customer Service.

The movers people themselves were nice. But the company will not work with you. I weighed all my items and when the truck weighed it was 4000lbs more!! Which cost me additional $3000. I was present at the 2nd weighing when my stuff was loaded, but was not present when the weighing was done prior to them showing up. So was the whole truck on the scales?? I ask for a simply reweigh when my stuff showed up. I wanted to be present at the scales for both weighs. But they said they could not do that. Then my stuff came on a totally different company. Moving.

I had gone through a broker Long Distance Movers who seemed competent. But I would never use them again because the moving company they contracted with was Unique Van Lines. That's when the issues started. They tried to charge me extra saying it was more than 75' from door to where they parked (which it wasn't) when they came to load. And, they did not get to my house until 8 PM. I called Long Distance & they got part of the charge waived. Poor communication finding out when belongings were going to be delivered. When they got here my new desk was broken into several pieces (I did get paid a partial amount for the damage) and many boxes were damaged (they were scattered all over the truck). My belongings were going into storage & because I was in pain waiting for surgery I could not unpack and repack the boxes so took longer than 30 days which prevented my being able to file a claim without knowing what damage there was. There were many dishes, antique glassware & special bowls broken, as was my near new computer. Many of the antique glassware pieces had been in my family for many years. I was able to determine that they load a truck & take it, I believe, to FL and reload to take things to their destination. What started out ok was a disaster and I feel if Long Distance Movers should have known the kind of movers who actually moved thee belongings.

Long-distance move from Columbus, IN to Miami, FL

Unique van lines / we pack.

I hired WePack who outsourced the move to UniqueVanLines for my move from Indy to Miami.

The only good thing about this was the initial phone call with the salesguy Arthur. He assured me over the phone that all my stuff was 100% insured and that any broken, missing, dented, scratched or damaged in anyway item will be paid for or replaced.

Movers came in and packed everything into boxes. They did a terrible job of making sure things were securely packed. I did noted that out but they told they were the experts and to relax. At that point I didn’t have a choice so I let it go.

When we got to Miami, scheduling the delivery of things was another mess. Initially they said they will deliver as soon as I call them, but when I finally called them to deliver they gave me a 14 day window. I guess we were supposed to spend money on a hotel or sleep on the floor till they decide to show up. Initially the driver showed up 2 days before the move in date. Of course they didn’t let them unload cause our lease hadn’t even started yet. Additionally, the building I moved into needs to be notified 24 hrs in advance before a move so you can imagine how hard this was with these people. Luckily it only took them a few days but I believe that's because I had to call then 3 times a day to try to get them to deliver the things. The people I talked to over the phone (I think her name was Maria) weren’t very nice either

So they finally deliver the stuff. While delivering they scratched the newly painted walls (see pics). They did a terrible job building the furniture (see pics) they broke some stuff while moving (See pics) and then left. I started unpacking boxes and found a bunch of stuff broken (see all pics) including a $1,000 Gibson Les Paul guitar and an Acoustic guitar which was completely smashed (See pics). A few glasses were broken, some expensive paintings were scratched, the couch was scratched, coffee table was set on its corners and all 4 corners were scratched/dented, the TV speakers were broken off the base, some lamps were also destroyed and the list goes on (see all pics).

I filed the claim form with all the damages which added up to almost $10k. They have finally replied 3 month later (only because I started emailing them daily for a reply) and they are offering me $181 for all damages. They didn’t even say sorry for the trouble, instead they are blaming me for not reading the fine print on the supposedly 100% insured claim.

Lastly, they offered 1 month of free storage between the pick up and the drop off . That was also a lie. Its only free if you get you stuff out before the first month. If you go over a month they charge you that first month.

I guess if you want to save a few dollars but go over all this trouble go for this guys.

Long-distance move from Boynton Beach, FL to Ann Arbor, MI

Literally the Worst Service I've ever experienced.

STOP!!: Even if your reading this as unique van lines is packing your stuff, cancel your service with unique van lines and call a different provider. Its not worth it. I got assigned unique van lines through a contractor and didn't read the reviews until it was too late, take them seriously!

I'll just explain the incompetence of unique van lines in chronological order. First the broker tried to up charge me. Then unique van lines tried to up charge me. Then they gave me a 48 hour range of when they would be picking up my stuff, and did not let me know until 24 hours before hand so I had little to no time to plan. They then tried to up charge me a third time. Unique Van lines gave me an estimate of 5-10 business days to deliver my stuff. It took unique van lines three weeks to deliver. When unique van lines did deliver, they had LOST the pieces to assemble my bed. I now have a 2,000.00 un assembled BED FRAME MISSING THE PARTS. And a company unwilling to help rectify the situation. I haven't unpacked my boxes yet but I expect much of it to be broken or stolen and will update my review as such.

You expect problems with movers but Unique Van lines is a different story. The level of incompetence exhibited was likely criminal. I honestly have to make a few calls and see if this is something I should call the police about, or at least a lawyer. Save yourself the trouble, pay a little extra somewhere else, these guys are crooks.

Long-distance move from Dublin, OH to Pensacola, FL

Don't Ever Use this Company!!

I used a broker - and will write that nasty review next - and they subbed my move out to Unique. When they arrived at my home in Ohio they said I had more items than would fit in my 288 sq ft and the cost would increase by $300. When I checked with my broker on this they never got back to me. Then when I called to check the delivery date they said they didn't have to tell me..and they showed up one night at 9 pm asking for the money before they would unload. I called their customer service manager and she threatened to leave the stuff by the side of the road if I didn't pay up! Then one poor man who didn't speak English took two hours to move my items with one two wheeled dolly. He broke the legs on my sofa, splintered my TV stand and dropped the box full on dishes off the truck. If I had only read your post before I would have asked for another mover. Be warned, these are NOT NICE people and they don't deserve your business.

Long-distance move from Hampstead, NC to Gales Ferry, CT

Move From Hampstead, NC to Gales Ferry, CT.

It's been a year since we moved back to Connecticut and we are willing to write a review for Unique Van Lines.
-They never arrived on time.
-They damaged 2 Flat Screen TVs out of 3
-They damaged our 110 yrs old Piano
- Lost 2 leaves for antique table
- Broke my husband's motorcyle
- Broke several antiques
- Damaged our gas grill
- The movers never called back
- They arrived with pick-up truck and a goose neck trailer that was painfully undersize for the contents for the household content
-And when they had to get another Rider, it was up-charged to $2000
- Upon arrival to our to home, we discovered that the truck and trailer was unable to get to our driveway, causing another upcharge at $750
- Dispite the fact that we told them upfront that large trailer would not be able get down the driveway
- After the move, we contacted their home office so we could start the claim process
-It took at least a month to the claim forms involving calls and emails
-When finally submitted the claim form, they came back with $348 resolution; dispite having several thousands damage and lost items using some ridiculous value and weight formula (Read the small print)
-Realizing leagly,we were screwed and we had accept their offer
- Four months later, we got the Declaration of Claim; we promply signed it and had it notarized and sent it back to their offices.
-Then started the parade of emails and phone call inquiries for resolution of this painful event. Everytime we'd call the person to speak to wasn't there or blatently we'd get hung up on
-After five months, they cut the check and it was on it's way
-Fourteen days, we finally got the check
- In short, this is the least professional organization that I have ever misfortunes of doing business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
