Long-distance move from Reading, Berkshire to Reading, Berkshire

Fraud.

Booked the services charged the deposit, called after 2 hours to cancel the booked services (3 days later). No refund of £46 pounds deposit.

Actually its not a deposit its their commission for £ 80 work to be done in £150 (for a 0.2 distance move of 2 bed house , dismantled bed that too)

Fraud company stay away

Moreover I read the below a bit later

Just don't use them.

Beware of this middle man company. They gave me the quote then on the day it ended up being £219 more. AnyVan hadn't sent my additional inventory which resulted in the drivers having more stuff than expected hence the massive increase in price. When I contacted customer service they basically blamed me even though I have the additional inventory all written in email. Don't waste your time thinking this is a good price - it won't be a good price on the day.

Long-distance move from Reading, Berkshire to Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire

Awful Service.

This was a terrible experience, the worst moving company with which I have ever dealt. The service was considerably overpriced (£140 all-in) for the service provided. I had to chase the driver directly (head office declined to help) and multiple times to request a booking. I explained that I needed a morning booking due to constraints in my day; they ignored this and booked me for midday with notice given the night before. This forced me to change my plans at short notice to accommodate them. I had also elected to booka second man for an extra charge of £30 and provided detailed information as to parking, access and the number of floors for both locations. The driver had not received or read the information and had to be convinced at length to assist me in moving a chest of drawers down one set of stairs - all other items, including a mattress and cot, I had placed on the ground floor at his insistence, to avoid a quarrel. The driver treated the estimated number of items (estimated because I had no way of knowing the exact number of items, such as the number of boxes, until packing was finished) as a comprehensive list, outright refusing to transport anything more than itemised, in spite of having space in his van. This forced me to make an unnecessary extra return journey from Oxfordshire to Berkshire in the midst of rush hour in my car to move five boxes and a couple of loose items. Overall, a company to be avoided.

Great Service.

Wanted corner sofa collected from shop to home.
Got a call 2 hours before time to say they would be at shop an hour before due time but said they would wait. Met them at collection point 1 hour before arranged time and the 2 men were excellent. They delivered sofa unpacked it and put it together.
Really impressed would recommend Anyvan every time.

Do NOT use this company appalling.

On the face of it they come across as well organised and efficient . The reality sadly is completely different. I was told I had to organise 2 deliveries as one of the items I needed to move was a piano which apparently needed 'special' delivery company so had to pay an extra £250 for this
The first guy came late even though I had paid extra money for him to arrive within a fixed time because the items were being moved from my mother's house where an elderly friend let them in as a favour to me as I had to be in Wales to receive the delivery.
He did not take all the items even though one of the things you have to do is fill out a list including dimensions not because they would not fit in his van but because he wanted to do another job on the way (which ironically he ended up not doing). There was no communication with me about this even though he and the company had my mobile. I had to ring to get a delivery time as it was not on the tracking device. When they did arrive they broke the front door.
The next day the piano was supposed to arrive.Although they collected it at 8.15am they did not arrive until 3.30pm (for a 2 and a half hour drive) there was no information on the tracker. The driver tried to charge extra money for collecting the items on the list left over from the day before even though I had informed anyvan and they agreed that they were responsible for ensuring those items were delivered and booked them on the next delivery.
When they eventually arrived they were extremely patronising and rude and said they had been removing pianos for years and would fit it into the property, Their concern was then that I sign a waiver for any damage to the property or the piano, They then said the piano was too large to fit in the house and kindly offered to take it to a skip for an extra £120 at which point I was really distressed as this was my late mother's piano which had been in the family for many years - and refused to refund the journey and then left the piano outside my house because they had another delivery to do even though my builder had offered to come down there and saw the bannisters off the stairs if that was the issue.
The piano stayed in the street all night in the pouring rain.
My builder came round with his son today - and guess what - they got the piano into the house with their 'zero' experience of moving pianos within 5 minutea!! and it is now in my living room so I am asking for a refund.

We used any van to pick up a two seater and three seater setters they were very well priced very well organised they were very polite and helpful people. They would let you know when they had picked the item up and when they would drop it off. I don't really know what else to say they were brilliant at there jobs I would recommend them to anyone else and give them 10 out of 10 for the job they were brilliant thank you.

Cancellation policy.

I recently booked a van to move furniture from Carlisle to Bristol. Dealings with the company and driver were very efficient but the afternoon before the job, the driver texted me to say that his van had broken down so he wouldn't be able to complete it. Anyvan weren't able to find me another van that day and just said that I could either cancel or rebook. No offer of compensation was made, even though I spoke to two members of staff to explain that I'd been seriously inconvenienced by having to rearrange the collection and drop off arrangements with people at two properties at very short notice. I also asked the manager to send me the contact details to make a complaint and received nothing. When the job was finally completed, the driver was very efficient.

Great way to find the perfect relocation company.

We had a complicated move of furniture from Penrith (near Carlisle) to three other northern locations and I was struggling to find a company to do this. The anyvan system let the perfect company (located between two of the destinations) to find us! And the movers themselves were fantastic. I have already recommended Anyvan to friends and would use it myself again.

Long-distance move from Colchester, Essex to Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Shame.

After booking a van for a specific confirmed date I was informed by the driver that it would happen over 2 days..

I was very clear on how this needed to work, my online chat person confirmed this was all OK, if I had been informed of the 2 day job I would not have booked. I went back to Anyvan who said the dates
were on the job sheet, I had just looked at the confirmation email which only stated 11th.

Anyvan stated if I wanted a same day delivery I would need to pay a further 100 pounds..I canceled and asked for an immediate refund, I was then informed this would take 3 - 5 days.
SHAME ON YOU ANYVAN
The last Anyvan representative I spoke with clearly has not taken customer services skills at any level.

Terrible experience. Would never use them again.

Terrible experience. Driver failed to make proper arrangements for pick up, meaning the arrangements failed. Anyvan then try to charge me an extra £27 to re-arrange, whilst the pick up location are also charging storage for the failed pick up item. Numerous emails to resolve the situation, but no satisfactory outcome. I am now suing them for a refund, storage charges incurred, and hours of inconvenience, whilst also having to now make alternative arrangements for the pick up. anyvan have failed me miserably and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Vile company.

Absolutely shocking , 3 hours late and degrading as they went though every single item , refused to take bags instead of cases , customer service shocking and cost was more than double of a local man who I had to get after there staff left.

After multiple phone calls got a 3rd back as a refund.

Unless you know exactly what you have in your house to the last item , they will leave your stuff and not refund you as I was told by two managers.

Long-distance move from Chester, Cheshire to York, North Yorkshire

Delivery.

I got a call from anyvan on the morning of the day of delivery, implying that the driver was outside the shop from where my item was going to be picked up and that the shop was closed and wouldn't open for another couple of hours. Anyvan told me they would now have to rearrange everything and get another driver. For that I had to pay a 50% surcharge which was £44. I then spoke to the owner of the shop from which my item was being picked up and it transpired that the driver had in fact already contacted him on the afternoon before the day of delivery and had then been informed of the shop's opening hours. So the driver was fully aware of the time when my item could have been picked up and could have made arrangements accordingly rather than pretend he was outside the shop and his schedule had been thrown into disarray. Anyvan claim that it was my fault for choosing a timeslot between 8am and 6pm which I assumed covered the delivery time but is apparently for the pick-up time. This is not clear on the website. Either way, the driver was fully aware of the shop's opening times well ahead of setting off so there was no need to "rearrange " anything. Charging me an extra 50% of the delivery fee was an utter rip-.off.

Long-distance move from Chester, Cheshire to Harrogate, North Yorkshire

Don't book a sunday delivery.

I booked a collection and delivery today (Sun 28th April 2019), I was apprehensive being a Sunday, but they didn't "delivery"!

Haven't hear nothing at all, I tried texting nad calling the driver which got me no where.

It wasn't until I called into AnyVan that afternoon that they were able to tell me that the driver had been issue the wrong pick up day "due to system error".

They hadn't any intention of calling me to let me know though and I only found out by waiting on hold 10 minutes to speak to someone. I tried their online support but they just told me to call as their system said it was all fine!!

Members of staff have said how much they have been struggling to get drivers to work for them recently! They said they could rebook it today, but it was "unlikely to happen".

They actually lied to me on the phone originally saying its a system error, but now I have requested compensation (which they are offering NOTHING) as it was down to the drivers mistake, who will be fined instead.

They have rearranged it for tomorrow meaning myself and the person the item is being collected from will have to take the day off work.

I will update this view if the service is actually provided.

Large furniture move.

Itemised items on my phone. Rang Anyvan to confirm. Very polite and helpful. Paid by card, no problem. Driver soon contacted me to confirm his name and estimated pick up time. Driver and mate again contacted me to say they were half an hour away. Furniture was loaded without fuss. The furniture was secured. I met the van at the other end, the furniture needed Taking to a first floor flat, no lift and very long corridor. The move was efficient, the driver and mate were polite. No problems at all. Would use again.

Don't use, scam artists, robbed £768 for cancellation. HORRIFIC.

Company quoted me an absolutely extortionate £768 for a booking on a 1 bedroom flat removal, they had the "option" button of cancelling the booking on the website which gives the buyer a false sense they can cancel. They asked for my card details at the very beginning.

I managed to find a much cheaper company that offered a lot more for under half the prices. So I contacted any van telling them their services were no longer required, someone else had undercut them at a mere £360.

The first thing this woman said to me apparently irked by my honesty, quite coldly "well you won't be getting a refund" (nothing - was ever stated about these new "terms and conditions" to me! At any point)

She wanted to hang on to my £778 for no service and cancellation! The absolute gall of this company is not just intentionally misleading, but underhanded, deceitful and completely dishonest. No reputable company would try and rip of a client of nearly £800 for nothing, not to mention the astronomical fee they were quoting me for a one bedroomed flat move.
She then proceeded to tell me I could rebook the day if I wanted (which would come to a whopping £1142!)

I am in tears about phoning this company and trusting them with my money I do not feel they had any remorse whatsoever, any concern or consideration they just want your money and will say and do anything to obtain it.

Off note their website says they guarantee to be cheaper than elsewhere, which is completely untrue evidently. I obtained a quote from another reputable company for 2 vans if needed, for £360.

Anyvan also has an option of cancelation on booking saying your money will be completely refunded to your account on a cancellation. This is a lie

£1,148 they wanted to take for a 1 bedroomed flat removal. How can anyone justify this

I am blown away at the nerve of this company. They knew exactly what they were doing. They had a completely callous attitude. In tears about this on the phone, I had an awful day.

How on earth can they justify £1148 for a one bedroomed flat removal van?

They shouldn't of taken my money end of discussion. For no job and no service, and the cancellation was confirmed over 24hrs before hand

They are evidently scammers and their attitude is that of a sociopath on the other end of the line. They genuinely do not care at all and will withdraw your money for nothing, and no service if you leave them payment information

This company is the lowest of the low, I'm absolutely blown away with how they deceive others. They are a predatory group that intentionally misleads

The matter has just been reported to trading standards and ombudsman I will be taking things further.

I am horrified, upset, highly stressed and in absolute pieces about the level of deception and sheer nerve of this company. It's made me physically unwell from all of the stress, which is something I am supposed to avoid. I have vasculitis which has now flared up I am now incredibly unwell as such. I was shaking when I put the phone down at what they have done and their complete gall, they never notified me any terms and conditions about taking my money

Awful, AWFUL experience and I want to warn others about this company!

Movers that don’t like to move things..

Drivers were late and lost despite me being on the phone trying to give them instructions. When they did arrive , the decided they couldn’t fit the items through the door and said they didn’t have time to dismantle . If only they weren’t almost an hour late then!
At the next drop off, they just left the items by the door and didn’t bother to wait for anyone to let them in and receive the goods.
Don’t use AnyVan unless you want to stay in all afternoon for reason and then charged for a service you don’t receive.

Flexible removals of small items.

Absolutely shocking service currently being offered by Anyvan. 1 job on a flexible date was not allocated, I had to spend two days trying to find out what was happening and then without any notification AnyVan didn't complete the job and didn't even bother to let me know. This despite being promised numerous calls back and other failed promises. Now a second job is in exactly the same situation. Lack of communication is a real problem as is lack of reliability. The live chat refused to speak to me when I was trying to find out what was going on. If you want something guaranteed to be picked up and delivered as stated then use another more reliable company. I wont be using them again.

Long-distance move from Canterbury, Kent to Southampton, Hampshire

Do Not Hire This Service.

DO NOT HIRE THIS SERVICE. We went through reviews beforehand and decided to ignore the occasional bad reviews, and go with this 'cheaper' option. Bad idea.

Absolutely disgusted with my service. I was informed at time of booking (when I hadn't finished packing) that any little bits and pieces that needed adding could be done so for an extra fee on the day. The drivers were so rude and left with half a van empty, when all we had left to take was a few pictures, a wine rack, and an ironing board. Our car was packed full so we couldn't take them. We even offered to pay more, but they said no and left. This meant we had to leave these items and return for them at a later date, 140 miles away. On arriving at the new house, the drivers placed all our items downstairs, including our superking mattress, which we then had to try and get up the stairs despite my partner having a broken hand. Their attitude was so disgusting whenever I asked them to place something in a certain room, that I felt uncomfortable being in their presence and ended up going to stand outside until they left.

When I complained to the company about our experience, the customer service representative fought me tooth and nail on each issue, spoke very condescendingly toward me, and completely contradicted what the initial person on the phone said to me when I booked. Considering I booked over the phone, I expected the information they gave me there to be correct, but apparently it wasn't and they were just trying to make me happy so they could take my money. As for the extra items, apparently the drivers will not take anything that's not on the list, although when I tried to amend my order online prior to the move, it would not allow me to do so. The company also told me we had booked for a 'ground floor' move, so the drivers weren't obligated to take anything upstairs, however the representative on the phone at booking simply asked what kind of property we were moving into (a house), and didn't specify that we had to state some items would need to be taken upstairs.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY. We paid £500 for this move, and would much rather have paid a couple of extra hundred for a good, local company who would do their job properly. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Didn't turn up! Never again!

Booked a house move three weeks in advance, had to pay in full three days before the move. Rang the number given the day before the move to confirm.
On the day of the move nobody turned up and Anyvan customer services were less than helpful. A very stressful day became ten times worse. Still awaiting an explanation of what went wrong.

Would never recommend. Van sent too small for the contents of house. Ended up having to hire our own fan and pick up what they left. And a 170 mile journey to take it too. Excellent service.

I had to move a 3 seater sofa within 1/4 mile. When I request for quotes from other companies I got £45 and upwards. When I saw AnyVan I found their quote reasonable. When they said 2 hours I thought it was too long. However, at the delivery address the door was too small and the driver helped to remove the door and take the item into the house. The driver was very friendly, professional and courteous. I will definitely recommend AnyVan to friends and family without hesitation. I got exceptional service for my money.

Please do Not Use.

Please do not use this company, its a scam. They are a bunch of rude and arrogant individuals who are only concerned about taking your money. After they arrived to move my stuff, I was told some of the items are not on the list. I even agreed to pay extra so they can take the items but was told their van cannot take every item since they had other things to pick along the way. I agreed and said they should take what they can and go, but it turns out they had other plans. I decided to leave without taking any items and told me the company has asked them to leave. The customer service refused to talk to me because I had made the booking and put my son's name cos the items were for him. When my son contacted them, they told him they can only refund half the money I paid for the removal. From what I see, this is their method of making money without working. They are definitely SCAMMERS. Please AVOID AT ALL COST.

I cancelled my move with Any Van.

Having used AnyVan 4 times in the last 7 years, I thought I would do so again. Oh what a mistake!
Their current quote website was very ambiguous and unclear. This meant the information that I gave for the move was not what they needed. To rectify this that increased the quote again and again.

In the end I was not happy and cancelled my booking!

Please Read my Story.

PLEASE EVERYONE DO NOT USE ANYVAN.

I bought an item on gumtree and it was linked to ANYVAN. I TRIED TO POST THIS ON THEIR FB SITE BUT IT WONT ALLOW. MY STORY.
three weeks ago I purchase a patio sliding from gumtree and accepted the bid from AnyVan because of the urgency I selected and accepted the quote. The item collection date given so I forward a copy to the seller, stating the date and time. The day of collection arrived and I got no reply from the driver until late that evening offering and apologising for non collection. AnyVan said they gave the driver a penalty and as a good jester they refunded me £9 I was shocked As the item was located in Durham, it's only an hour away. He said he will collect the item at lunch time. Both the seller and I tried to contact him. I then contacted ANYVan and they apologised and said they will find a replacement driver, it took two days and another driver was allocated. He said he would collect the item the following morning. Around 12pm. I got a text from him stating he is unable to collect because he thought it was a patio door. Why would I pay so much for an item when I could have purchased one local. I asked the driver if he read the ad. I indicated that a sliding patio door and the photo as described in gumtree. A sliding door means a frame a fixed panel and a sliding door. He demanded payment and I called AnyVan he then sent me a text saying he got paid.
I contacted AnyVan again and after explaining to the agent he agreed relisted the item as he indicated that his system would not automatically list it like I want. I said the driver said he got paid this is not good customer service as the error was your system listing, again he, his name was Paul promised that a manager would get in contact with me ASAP. I waited no call. Easter weekend. On Monday I contacted AnyVan and they apologised. They said they were looking into reallocating someone, Yesterday, I had my pug put to sleep so I was sad and disappointed. I called them again and someone who I spoke to said she would look into the case. I told her again about the incident and that my pug had died she seemed genuinely kind. This morning I got a call from the driver who said he will collect the item between 2 and 3. I sent a message to the seller and at 3pm I had a miss call. It was AnyVan, I returned the call and the most rude individual named Mark from Gateshead office said this to me. The driver went to the collection point. The item is not as described, he is demanding another £40 to collect, and I have to pay AnyVan a fee of £20. I asked immediately to speak to a manager, he said those are the manager instructions, and he won't be bothering her, further they have cancelled the booking and will not be refunding me my payment. I was shocked stunned I would normally respond in an ungodly manner but I am so depressed about my pug.
In the past AnyVan have a rule that if you do not cancel the booking within a day you will not be refunded. If they do not call you back within half an hour they will credit your account. I have lost £80 because a seller delayed and they refused to refund me. When I contacted the via web chat to get the their FB information the agent was hesitant and gave the link but it did not allow me to post. I warned AnyVan in the past that their activity is unfair and is in violation with the consumer protection act. PLEASE SHARE THIS I WILL COPY IT AND SEND IT TO THE CEO.
I have lost £100 for the sliding patio door, £45 delivery and
my builders cannot finish my office porch.
