AnyVan

I posted an add on Anyvan and accepted a quotation of £174. When the requested deposit of £34 was paid I was sent an email stating the remaining amount of £140 will need to be paid once the job is completed.
The contractor Move2U completed the job and were great throughout and once the job was completed they advised me that I need to pay the full amount as Anyvan does not pass on any funds to them. The guys done the job and I paid them, bare in mind I was advised otherwise initially by Anyvan. When I contacted Anyvan they all stated that the the £34 go to the contractor as part of the £174 payment. After insisting on clarification we ended up on the same email trail with all parties and putting down the jobsheet and the invoice the contractor confirmed that they have no knowledge of the £34 and Anyvan is the entity that can answer that question. From that moment the anyvan agent stopped responding to emails. Two days later another agent confirmed that they kept the money and is not refundable nor is part of the quote contrary to what they advise on the original email. Luckily I am insured on my credit card so will be taking that payment back.
Be very careful in your dealing with Anyvan as you can and up out of pocket!DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!!

These guys were amazing. They worked so so hard. I had underestimated the load and they squeezed it all in without complaint. They had to do an extra load which they fitted in the same day for all my garden stuff ( I paid them for an extra load).
I was worried they would have a heart attack they worked so hard!! They were polite and very helpful. They helped move furniture from the garage indoors at the other end too!! I can't fault them and would certainly usenthe instant quote anyvan service again. Brilliant!

Listed a job and paid up. Collect some outdoor furniture from a friend and deliver to central London. Then the trouble started. The job was subcontracted to another driver who kept us waiting ALL DAY before telling us he was having trouble with heavy traffic. He didn't get in touch and we had to phone and phone the other driver and hassle to even get a response. There was no heavy traffic on that route. That was simply a lie. He eventually turned up at 10.30PM on a Friday night and expected our night porter to help him. Worst still their customer service is zero. Phones permanently engaged, emails not replied to, nobody gives a damn. I spent hours trying to get through and get someone to take this on board. They just made it so hard they're banking on you giving up. After 10 days of endless pursuit, they offered £20 credit (as if i'd use them again!!) and truly don't care. DO NOT USE ANYVAN. They're truly dreadful.

I placed an order by telephone with AnyVan (who describe themselves as “The UK’s favourite delivery, removals and transport marketplace”) for a motorcycle and accessories to be
collected from Brighton on Friday 29th June, delivery to be made near Launceston either Friday 29th or Saturday 30th June, in time for my departure to France.

When the order confirmation arrived, there were many mistakes, including the collection name, the delivery name, the delivery address (which bore no resemblance to the address I had
provided) and the special delivery instructions were unrecognisable. This happened in spite of the fact that I had used the phonetic alphabet to spell the names.

As soon as I discovered the errors, I contacted AnyVan
immediately to correct them. I explained several times that I was in an area of practically zero mobile phone coverage, and that email was the only effective way of contacting me, but this was ignored as the driver repeatedly tried to phone and text me.Their automated email response system promised a reply to my emails within an hour, but this rarely happened, often taking many times that, on one occasion over 20 hours. I tried driving outside the village and phoning them, and eventually, after many attempts and being kept on hold for so long that the battery ran out on my telephone, I managed to get through to an advisor on the night before collection. Shortly afterwards a response
to my email finally arrived. When I
checked the revised online booking confirmation, the names and delivery address had been corrected, but the special delivery instructions (vital in a small village with no street names or house numbers) were garbled, this time in a different way. My attempt to confirm with the driver that he had the correct delivery details resulted in no response until the following afternoon, by which time the goods had already been collected.
Eventually the delivery arrived, but only after I had
waited in for a second day, and after a succession of confusing and contradictory text messages which seemed to suggest that the delivery would be delayed until the Sunday. In the event,
only a part of the consignment arrived. The seat, topbox and the documents were missing, which meant that I could not SORN or tax the vehicle or use it. I contacted AnyVan immediately, but once again they failed to answer in good time. I made three separate suggestions for getting the goods to me, and
in an attempt to help, I delayed my departure to France as they offered to deliver on the Monday. Eventually I had
to leave and a neighbour waited in all day, but the delivery did not appear. When I carried out some detailed research, I discovered that the work had been subcontracted to a company whose head office was in a house in a residential cul-de-sac on the outskirts of Southampton. This was hardly consistent with the boasts of being “proudly featured in The Times, The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph The Daily Express, and The Financial Times”. Ten days and many emails later, the remainder of the consignment has still not been delivered, and I am still waiting for answers to my emails.The email trail between us in an attempt to clear up the mess now runs to over 5,000 words and 13 pages, yet we are no further forward. AnyVan seems to be incapable of giving a straight answer to a
straight question, preferring to ignore the questions altogether.
The audit trail is a catalogue of broken
promises and incompetence, with a complete inability to grasp the gravity of the situation and to take customer service seriously. One email even invites me to “Rest assured your items are in safe hands” which in the circumstances feels
like a bad joke.Looking at feedback from other customers on this company, it seems that I am far from alone in this experience, in spite of their claim to having 30,000 good reviews and being “The UK’s favourite delivery, removals and transport marketplace”
My advice is to avoid this company at all costs.
