I was doing a one bedroom move from Bournemouth to York, it was within a certain timeframe I had for my things to be moved, so it was crucial to find a mover that would be reliable and cost effective. The cheapest quote I found was from Anyvan, with it being a large move in terms of location, I was very 50/50 about using the service considering reading prior reviews, a lot of which seemingly negative. I had a text from the courier service who informed me of the drivers contact information about a week or so before. I got in contact to ask a specific timeframe, as it was scheduled between 12-6, however I was not told an estimate for which time the driver would be arriving, although I specified as early as possible. This was taken into consideration and on the day I had an early slot bang on 12. However there was very minimal contact between the driver and myself. Upon arrival the driver helped me put everything into the back with good care. Nothing was thrown or handled badly. He was very quick in doing so and set off straight afterwards. I was told the delivery would take place the following day, and that the house would be contacted with a time, I was given an estimated time of around 3-4. My house back in York got the call that the delivery would be arriving at 3, which was convenient. The driver handled everything well and put it all into the house for us. There was no hassle, all was done quickly and with caution so everything was taken care of.
In terms of communication is where this company lacks, you have to ensure to phone the courier for the drivers personal info if you're wanting to make adjustments etc. I made a couple of which that I specified last minute but there were no troubles with there being extra boxes and no extra costs. Overall I'm glad I chose this service over any other, for the price was manageable and the service was quick and to the point.
I'd recommend for smaller scale moves especially, I can't comment on how a full house move would go however my personal experience was a positive one, everything going and arriving in time, allowing me to make my journey the following day a stress free one.

Booked a studio move literally across the country. After reading about some of the reviews on here, I was a little skeptical and nervous to say the least. But my worries were unfounded.

The folks showed up right at the beginning of the allocated time slot. Despite having to make multiple trips up and down a flight of stairs, they had no complaints and went about it quickly. In less than 30 minutes, my flat was emptied, everything was strapped down in the van and they were off.

Unfortunately, they were stuck in horrific traffic on the way there and had to deliver everything the next day instead. Nothing they could have done but they were professional about it and kept me updated throughout.

Unloading went even faster than loading and they even offered to help me carry some furniture to different rooms if needed. There were some slight scratches on my bed headboard, but it's the side that will be against the wall so I wasn't too bothered. And there was a slight break at the back of my bookcase, but it's just a cheapy one from Ikea so it was expected and doesn't affect it much.

Overall, pleased with the result and glad that everything went as smooth as it did.

I am sitting waiting. I have been since before 11.00 the eta given by the driver. At 12.45 I rung him, no reply. I ring AnyVan, they say he will ring. 13.10 he rings with new eta 17.00-18.00. We have 3+ hours ahead of us. 14.20 he rings again. Eta now 18.00 - 19.00. He still proposes to drive to Lincoln. I at nearly 70 now have to drive 175 miles in the dark when I should already be there. AnyVan always pleasant to talk to but can obviously not produce the goods. I really feel I would like some compensation for the stress I have been caused today. Anyway. If you are considering using AnyVan my recommendation is DON'T
I have not even got there yet, so I will update my review with another if I survive the experience.

Arranged for my daughter to have some bits collected from A to B.

The driver broke down - his fan belt broke (basic maintenance, especially if you are a long distance driver. You should know your vehicle) -so had to wait for the AA to show up (90 mins apparently). This left him behind on his "deliveries".

He point blank REFUSED to deliver the goods the same day (took him TWO hours to call my daughter and tell her that he was "behind") despite her paying for the delivery.

Now, my daughter has mental health issues and autism - so this happening really got her on edge and almost causing harm to herself.

AnyVan were rude and obnoxious. No help what so ever. Will not be using again, that is for sure!

I would strongly advise NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY although I was very concerned the van was too small and stated this on numerous occasions my furniture was crammed in the van resulting in damage to my furniture. I am now having trouble getting compensation for the damaged items even though the driver admitted they had broken an item of furniture, other items damaged were discovered upon unpacking after the drivers had left. This company states they are insured for damage but are unwilling to pay out when there is a claim caused by them.

This was the second time I used Anyvan for removals. I was completely happy from start booking to completion. The booking process was easy and the price, excellent. I was kept fully informed and received text messages and contact details prior to the removal itself, Darren and his team made the move easy and trouble free. I was delighted with their service. Highly recommended. I don't plan on moving too often, but would use this service again without hesitation.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Booked for removal 12-3pm. Van not here at 3pm.

Called driver at 3.10pm no answer. He text back saying van broken down. Anyvan blankey state couldn’t supply another driver or offer alternative.

So I’m left on my own to sort out my removal on the day I’m meant to move out of the property. Once I asked they said they will just refund me and that’s it.

That’s what you call bad service.

What an unreliable company. Don’t use them if you want peace of mind that someone will be there to help you with an already stressful move. Your driver might or might not turn up and you’ll have to pay more to find another one on the day.

Booked way in advance and was told I could easily change my booking online up to 48 hours in advance. A few days before the move, I tried to change the number of boxes on my booking but the website said I wasn't allowed to change anything (even though it was much earlier than 48 hours in advance). I had an absolute nightmare trying to speak to customer services about it. Tried the live chat but people kept closing the chat on me as they couldn't help. I sent an e-mail that was never responded to. I phoned up and was passed around from employee to employee, put on hold, passed around again, on it went.. Eventually someone told me the price would be DOUBLE for the new order (bear in mind, I wanted to change it to around 10 FEWER boxes than before). I obviously refused to pay this, though I was stuck needing to move in a few days. After me explaining the situation over again for the hundredth time, the customer service employee said they would phone the driver and then phone me back. He then told me the driver had agreed a 'special price' of £200 more than I originally paid. I paid it because I was desperate, but really I feel cheated. Why should the price increase by *any* amount when it included less boxes than originally estimated? Please avoid this company - their customer service is awful and they will cheat you out of more money if you want to change anything on your order.
