Long-distance move from Norwich, Norfolk to London, Greater London

So far, so good.

Have used AnyVan twice now for quotes. In both cases, the jobs were moving several boxes between locations almost 175 miles apart. The quotes both came in below what it would cost me to hire a van and do the work myself. Although I am sure that AnyVan take a commission, I still ended up saving money, so cannot complain. On the one occasion I have needed to contact their customer service, I was answered promptly, and my problem resolved immediately. Will definitely be using AnyVan in future.

Removal.

Had a man called Jon from trusted movers come and give me a quote for a move.it was aagreed that I would use his srmervice but I was told after that he may not be able too get all of my stuff on the lorry. Then when I got a new date a day address he became very hostile and demanded money even though I had signed nothing or looked at his terms and conditions. At one point he got his partner too call my housing. Each and demand money threatened me with legal action. I have been very upset over this and my trust in this company haso been reduced too nothing.. can't get hold of anyone too get my promised refund back . . Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Velda gooch.

Brilliant service.

I can not recommend this firm enough, from out initial contact to the last piece of furniture being moved in, everything was done very professionally, we booked on line and put down room by room what we required to be moved, a price was quoted (which was very reasonable), and a date arranged, they kept us informed on everything, they even emailed the drivers name and what time they would be arriving, On the day everything went smoothly, the guys who moved us were brilliant, and a credit to the firm, it took a lot of stress out of moving, if you are moving, not just house moving, anything that you need moving at a reasonable price, use these guys, you won’t be disappointed.

Long-distance move from Oxford, Oxfordshire to Oxford, Oxfordshire

Quote and feedback cannot be trusted.

I accepted a quote for a move from Moveover that was estimated to last 1h30. The job lasted in fact 3h and the mover asked us to pay him double the amount we were initially quoted. How was I supposed to know how long would the job last?
Anyvan refused to take our side, yet acknowledging that movers are not supposed to have hourly rates. The quotes you are given on this website cannot be trusted.
Worse, when I reported my experience in the mover's feedback, advising future customers to be careful about the hourly rate, my feedback got deleted. The feedback records of the movers therefore cannot be trusted either.
Needless to say that my next move won't be with Anyvan.

Appalling service.

Very poor service
- First attempt: cancelled on the morning of delivery
- Second attempt (the following day): no show. No reply to email, impossible to get through on the customer services line. When I got through, the person claimed they had called, emailed and left voicemails (if one of these hadn't worked I could believe it, but all of them? They'd called and emailed the day before and subsequently with no issue..this is flat out not true). They again didn't have a driver. The person I spoke to became quite rude.

Thiefs! Dont Ever Use Them.

Booked the service a week ago for today. Been calling the driver for three days, someone who I honestly think was the driver took 2 of 6 calls saying driver was busy and will call me in a while. Never called me back. Tried to talk to someone from Anyvan Customer Support. Waiting at phone for between 15-20 min everytime and never took my call. Today's moving day and still haven't news from driver or anyone, just that they would appear in some point between 8am to 6pm! Just had to cancel it and find another way to do it and lost 100£.
Definitely not recommended at all.

Crap Service.

I booked any van for a collection of an item I bought of ebay, the booking process was fine, but the service on the day was dreadful

i organised for collection of the item to be between the hours of 8AM-6PM, the driver assured me that he was collecting the item at 1:30, and he would be delivering to me for 16:00PM, so I organised to leave work early

i then called him and he told me that he would call me back, he didnt

i was informed that the item had not been collected, at 6:30pm, he collected the item at 7:00 and delivered to me at 9:30PM, which completely wrecked my plans for the evening

also I paid for two workmen knowing that im not strong enough to lift the item, and he came on his own, and I struggled to get the item into my house.

when speaking to Anyvan, wanting a refund, they decided to only refund me for the additional cost of a second workman

not a happy customer, ive been assured that the service is usually better, but I will not be using them again.

Do Not Hire Them.

We hired a van just to collect a wardrobe in time, they said it will be fine, still the driver turned up an hour late so the seller was busy by then, after that we couldn't even call the driver, we couldn't track him he was basically gone with our 40 pounds we payed for this poor service and they still didn't refund our money or move their pinky. If I knew this is going to be so stressful and waste of time and money I would've just waited a few hours for a friend to collect what I wanted. Service is poor, talking to costumer service was also stressful and they are basically thieves.

DO NOT USE - They are criminal.

I rarely look to publicly complain however.. I cannot urge against using AnyVan enough. They are simply criminal and have stolen my money - they did not carry out the job and have decided to keep my money regardless.

They don't see anything wrong in keeping my money right before Christmas as well!

their customer service is simply atrocious. No understanding, no consideration and no apology.

Bad driver.

I would not trust this lire idiot again. He won't answer phone text or email. He was late picking it up then tells you will deliver Sunday then Monday then no reply. I could not get hold of him again. Then we had to phone the police to get any joy but all he did was lie and being stupid on the phone and not answering it. Just laughing at us. Then he decides to get someone else to deliver it and we got the furniture on Thursday 12.30 am. We missed some items from the delivery. All in all this man does not deserve to call his self a driver. I have seen better, but never seen worse in my life. So all be warned. He's a useless driver.

Long-distance move from Plymouth, Devon to Exeter, Devon

Poor customer service.

I got a quote for picking up and delivering a welsh dresser from Totnes to Exeter on Saturday on the 30th April next day delivery.

Put the details in and got a quote, paid the deposit etc. But I could not accept the price, the website wasn't working properly and I only say the in progress of being allocated with a van.

The following morning I tried to get through on the phone, After 17 minutes I was still 4th in the queue. So I thought I would try the online chat, Pleasant enough but not able to anything, not even to look and see if I had been allocated a van/driver. She took my number and said I would receive a call within 30 mins. which came and went,50 mins later I went back to the online help chat.

So I asked her to cancel the request and refund my £25 deposit. Hey presto as soon as I said that the text came through saying I had one,

I have been told that I am unable to get my deposit back. even thought I have asked to cancel before the van was allocated.

Hopeless and frustrating experience, get more people on the phones, get the website working and do some training so at least the online chat girls can help.

Needless to say I shan't be using them again!

Scooter delivery.

Collected my scooter from Cornwall and delivered to Manchester.
The scooter was immaculate and I was worried that it would get damaged as it was not packaged. I needn't have worried as the driver was very professional, knowledgeable and ensured my scooter was fixed diwn correctly and covered to avoid damage/ scratches.
It arrived in the same condition.
Excellent service that I would highly recommend. Would not hesitate to use this company again.
Also fantastic value. £98.00 from Cornwall to Manchester. Brilliant.

Service from Anyvan.

Received quotes and a phone call from Anyvan. They wanted me to sanction business immediately. Unfortunately as goods were not manufactured this was not possible. Had some good quotes then not a thing. Had to supply all sorts of details some of which were not possible as good were not manufactured.Contacted Anyvan 3 times to no avail and the last time the customer service representative was not interested.
I WOULD NOT DEAL WITH THIS FIRM AGAIN.

Long-distance move from Portsmouth, Hampshire to Edinburgh, Midlothian

Never used before, but will use again.

I wanted to bring a chair I had bought from some people in Chichester up to my home in Southern Scotland. Anyvan were advertising on the Gumtree page where I saw the ad for the chair, so I thought I would give them a go. They kept me informed throughout and didn't let me down. Chair arrived in perfect order. If I had driven the 750 or so miles to Chichester and back, it would have taken a good 14 hours, the petrol would have cost about £160 and I would probably have had to stay the night somewhere. So, although it looked expensive to begin with, it was actually good value.

Any excuse.

I have dealt with some truly awful companies in my time but anyvan take it to a new level. I wanted a old sofa (it cost £35) moving a Quarter of a mile and they gave me a price of £68.the next day at 16:55 I received a message asking me to call them. They closed at 17:00. Eventually I had a txt conversation with a rep who told me there was a problem with my postcode, which I cleared up and that there would be a additional charge because there men would have to use a lift which meant additional work. My bill was now going to be £102. £34 pounds for pushing a button!the next day , the day of delivery(which I had been paid extra for) 5 minutes before the end off the 2hr time slot I received a message asking to call them. I did this to be told that there was a problem with my postcode! I tried to explain to the rep that I had sorted this out last night but anytime I tried to answer the reps statement , she kept shouting me down saying don't talk over me. I told her that if you tell me something as a customer I had the right of reply. Don't talk over me was the reply. Eventually she told me that she now could not give me a time before 4pm. I said then I want my extra payment for my time slot guarantee back but was told this was not possible as I was still guaranteed a delivery before 16:00! The rep also told me that they had tried to call me earlier to clear this up. However they had not as there was no missed call on my phone. It was an outright lies. Without doubt this company are the biggest bunch of charlatans with the most outrageous customer service. I am as yet still awaiting my sofa and the yet more extra costs I know are coming. I URGE ANYONE THINKING OF USING THIS BUNCH OF CON ARTISTS TO AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!! you will regret it, I promise.

Long-distance move from Preston, Lancashire to Cardiff, South Glamorgan

Disgusting business practice avoid.

My partner is moving 200 miles across the country to move in with me. We booked with anyvan 6 weeks before the moving date to make sure nothing would go wrong. The day before pick up and delivery they contacted us to say the couldn't do the job and would pick up a day late and deliver two days late. My partner feels like she was bullied into accepting this. I took two days off work to make sure I would be home when the van arrived and then to unpack some of the boxes the following day. I am self employed so lost ~£350-400. I checked the website and I could rebook on the original day but would have to pay an extra £200. Disgusting business practices, lied to both my partner and myself.

How long is your bargepole?

How long is your bargepole? I had an AnyVan driver who destroyed my property, the eBay item that was supposed to be delivered, threatened my husband and in the 48 hours following this clown coming to our house we had 2 attempted break ins and had to spend £550 having an alarm system installed. AnyVan customer service have been beyond useless. On the first phone call I was treated like a fantasist who had made the whole sorry tale up. When I uploaded photos of the damage and the CCJ we now have against the driver they were still useless. Best thing is they never verified the driver's home address, so we now have an unenforcable CCJ and I have had to shell out more cash appointing a tracing agent to find out where he lives. When I phoned them asking for the clown's date of birth to assist the tracing agent they refused to give it to me.

Long-distance move from Edinburgh, Midlothian to Edinburgh, Midlothian

Unprofessional job and damaged items.

I used AnyVan for a housemove since a real mover wanted £700 to move the contents of a two-bed flat down the street, which seemed excessive. The items for the move didn’t fit in the tiny van that arrived on the day, and the men returned the day after to finish the job, which was inconvenient for me. In addition, after moving in, I noticed that the doors of my wardrobe had been scraped. It wasn’t much, but I didn’t bother to claim this on the extra insurance cover I’d bought. Then, I did a load of laundry and my washing machine was leaking all over the kitchen. I had an engineer come and have a look at it, and he said it had been dribbled, and that this might have contributed to the leak (it was fine before the move). I called AnyVan and told them that I wanted to claim this on the insurance, and they told me that because more than 7 days had passed since thre move (I’m on day 10–which is an acceptable time, for me, to get installed and use the washing machine and wait for a convenient time to work from home to wait for the engineer to come) there’s nothing they can do. This is extremely frustrating, and buying a new washing machine (which the engineer told me would be best) will bump the AnyVan price up to the same price as a real removals service wanted to charge me for the move. Be wiser than me and go with a real removals service, and stay away from AnyVan. They’re not worth the money they’re charging, unless you’re happy to pay for an inferior service.

Long-distance move from Southport, Merseyside to Newport, Gwent

Pick up from selling on Preloved.

My item was bought and the seller organised collection with Anyvan. I was given a date and a time between 12am & 6pm. The details and emails were between my buyer and Anyvan. The driver rang in broken English to say when he would arrive. The driver missed our property and rang to say he couldn’t find us. He couldn’t understand my directions and I couldn’t understand him. I waited at the end of a farm track & he eventually came running on foot, with ‘papers’. There were three men in an ‘E’ reg van that I doubt was taxed or insured. When I was supervising, the third man was rifling through our skip, as we are moving! I would NEVER recommend them again. It’s not a company, it’s a rich kid sitting at home online and recruiting any old [EDIT].

Promises, but no delivery..of items or of promises!

I booked a pick up and delivery with AnyVan. Pick up had to be on a specific date by a certain time or storage fees would become payable by myself. I was told that this had been made clear on the order form.
The day before pick up I received a text message asking me to call AnyVan, which I duly did, only to be told that the driver who was meant to be doing my job had pulled out and that they were having to contact other possible drivers to see who could do the job.
The day of pick up I received another text message asking me to contact AnyVan, which I duly did. After a long wait to speak to someone I was asked if there was some flexibility with my job as they hadn't found anyone else who could do it, despite what it said on the job order form in the first place. I said there could be flexibility if AnyVan were prepared to pay the £25 per day storage fees which, of course, they weren't. I was also told that the transport company had tried to call me on several occasions to apologise but I can 100% assure everyone that not a single missed call has flagged up on my phone. Even the customer services person I spoke to said he was very embarrassed for the awful experience I had with AnyVan and that he wasn't surprised I was never going to use the company again.
Be warned: big on promises and small on delivery. Never mind the prices: are you going to get what you pay for in terms of service or the goods you want or are you going to be left high and dry like I have been?

Do Not Use I am Not Joking.

Sadly as I am an "always look at the best of things" kinda girl I gave this company 2 shots.

around 6 months ago I purchased a bookshelf from ebay and booked any van to go and collect it as my car wasn't big enough. 1 inch of snow and bam the driver didn't show. He also didn't tell anyone he wouldn't be there and didn't cancel the job either. Eventually it was rectified by customer services however I had to argue with them to solve it.

The second time is now (well this week)
I sold my sofa on shpock and the lady used anyvan to collect it. I sat in for 8 hours waiting for them and they didn't cancel or show. she had to reshedule for 3 days later and even then it was an open ended 2 day appointment slot so no one knew when they would show up. Luckily they did and the lads were lovely.

However I bought a replacement sofa on ebay and also had it booked it with anyvan. driver called lastnight to tell me he'd be at the other person's property by 12. at 12:30 he texts me to say he's delayed by BY 6 WHOLE HOURS!! and it may be tomorrow and not today at all (neither me or the other party are available tomorrow hence it being booked for today)

So I call customer services to see if they can allocate another driver and what their protocol is to find out that this driver is the one that failed my first booking and that their time is an estimate (an estimate doesn't have a 6 hour time gap) when I informed them of this their customer services called me cheeky and started being rude and lippy with me. Then when I asked to speak to a manager or the complaints team I was told he is in the complaints team and I had to report my complaint to him.

So now here I am probably like lots of other people reading their god damn awful reviews wondering if my sofa will arrive this evening or if it won't. I really don't understand this company. People pay you to do a job and you can't even be bothered? I hope you sink!

Excellent service from AnyVan.

Any van provided an excellent service. They phoned the day before to give us a delivery time and texted the next day. They were spot on with their timing and the delivery men were extremely competent and friendly. They had two drops to make and they were on time and efficient. The price for the removals was very fair. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and would highly recommend them.

Expect to carry your furniture yourself.

Really disappointing experience.

I booked two men and a van to move eight heavy items of furniture to my new house. They turned up on time and the driver asked me if I wanted him to get out of the van and help load! I said that yes, I did, but he then did almost nothing during the move as my girlfriend and I helped the other man carry our very heavy furniture. His apologetic and clearly embarrassed colleague even carried a tumble dryer on his own at one point.

I paid extra for one item to go to the first floor, but I didn't feel able to help carry it upstairs (and the non-lifting AnyVan man clearly wasn't fit enough to do it) so my furniture remains downstairs.

After explaining the situation to customer support, and seeking a refund on the extra I paid for two men and first floor delivery, I was told that since they had turned up on time and my furniture was delivered then they can only offer a £40 goodwill gesture, which is well short of the cost of the services they failed to provide.

I have paid for a two-man service, only to have one of them stand by and watch as I carried my furniture myself!

I will not be using this company again.

I regret my decision to choose this terrible company.

I had a terrible experience with this company who not taking responsibility now.

My box with electronic gadgets has sent missing. It was loaded on to the Van along with other boxes.
But not delivered to the destination.

Raised complaint to the AnyVan who has taken their hands off saying there is no evidence and hence they can't help.

I have been left with no assistance now.

This is by far most terrible customer care and experience team I have ever spoken to. Would never choose this company in future.
