Long-distance move from Carrollton, VA to North Port, FL

Moved from Virginia to Florida-Worst Moving Experience

Our items were picked up on June 28, 2022 and finally delivered to us on August 9, 2022. We were told that for that distance the longest normal time to wait for delivery is 15 days. The do not count weekends in those 15 days, which is ridiculous. When I am living in an empty house for that amount of time, it does not matter whether it is the weekday or the weekend. The cost of the move was around $13K, so we expected a better experience. I wish they would not have taken the job because I am sure they knew they were not going to make those 15 days when they contracted with us. To me that is dishonest. We got a credit for a whopping $160 for our trouble. Not only did we have to wait 42 days for delivery (and yes, that includes weekends), when we got our delivery we were aghast at the condition of the boxes. They were crushed and falling apart. Items marked "fragile" were on the bottom of the pile. My husband's father's china that he brought from Japan during the Korean war were in a box that was destroyed (see picture). The crew consisted of 2 people, and they had no idea how to put the bed together (it is a Sleep Number). A relay switch was missing, along with the screws for the TV stand. The guys just shrugged their shoulders and told us to send in a claim. Do not use this company. I have moved about 20 times in my life, and utilized a moving company for about 1/2 of those moves, and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. It was a stressful, expensive experience that I hope to never have to go through again. Do not use American Knights Moving- for your own sanity.

Long-distance move from White Rock, NM to Herndon, VA

Contaminated our Boxes and Apartment with Rat-Waste Biohazards

Exhausting and completely unacceptable behavior on multiple fronts but let's go through this.

1: On pick-up they were a full day late and we were not given advanced warning of it until several hours after they were to arrive.

2: Following day were told they'd arrive at 8:00, didn't arrive until 11

3: Didn't write down the "latest delivery date" on contract while claiming it verbally, presumably to prevent liabilities.

4: No attempt to deliver by the specified date, waited 6 weeks for drop-off. Boxes were just put into a local storage unit and untouched for over a month while movers kept saying they needed to find a truck. Delivery time estimate was between 9-11 am and they didn't arrive until noon.

5: Entire boxes and all large furniture (couches, desks) were contaminated with rat droppings and urine which were also tracked throughout the whole house. Biohazard cleanup company advised clothes should be unpacked outside in case dead rats fall out and every item from boxes should be sanitized or discarded. Entire household requires cleaning as well.

6: Ignoring the biohazards for a moment (what a statement) some other boxes showed severe physical damage as if tossed around or jammed into hard objects and many boxes were crushed at the top as if from dropping on top of one another.

TLDR: consistently and excessively late, rough handling of boxes, and egregious biohazard contamination from rodents.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Damage all my furniture.

To whom it may need some information.  This company is the worst that you can hire.  I have move a few tmes, 7 to say the least and have never encounter this problems, and have never place a complaint in my life.

I will be happy to show all the paper work, and I am in the preocess of filing a sue against this comapny.  They not only damage my furniure but stop paying the insurance that I Have on record, so I was denied by the insurance company.

Please do not hire this company, read all the reviews and complitas that they have against them. You will be very dissapointed.  and if you need proof off all the damages they caused please do not hesitate to email me.  Claupdv@gmail.com.

Danger!! do Not Hire This Company!!

Danger!! Do not use this company!!  I planned a move from Houston to Dallas.  I was promised/quoted a 32' truck which would handle (promised) 2000 cubic feet of space.  The company arrived with a 26' truck and told me that there would be an additional $650 charge for a second truck.  I complained and they waived the fee, but that was jsut foreshadowing of what was to come. The movers loaded all of my belongings into one truck and drove to Dallas. They screwed around in Houston all day and didn't arrive at my house until 9pm.  When there, they demanded more money than what was quoted and said that they would not release my things until I paid.  They put me on the phone with their "regional manager" that belittled and threatened me.  While I was talking to the manager, the workers quit/left because they didn't think that I would tip them. Nothing was resolved and the driver stayed at my house until 11pm while threatening to drive back to Houston with my things.  I finally agreed to pay more than quoted to get my things and the driver came back in the morning to move us in.  We were bullied into paying more than what we were quoted and on top of all of the aggravation, the mover complained to my wife the whole time. I never write reviews on anyone, but please do not use this company!  Since our experience, I have called the company multiple times to retreive the extra money that was charged and they will not return my call. These guys should be out of business and I hope my review will influence at least one person who would make a mistake by using the company.

Long-distance move from Texas to California

Doen't pick up on time; and rude customer service.

I ordered for moving from Texas to California. My mover was supposed to pick up my stuff on Monday, but they called me that they cannot because they were busy (Don't over book). However, I said ok. They were supposed to pick them up on Tuesday from my storage, which they did not without notifying me. On the day, I even emailed to the moving consultant (who took my order) to ask the drop off date. The response was " Yes our Driver will be picking up today. Our dispatcher will have a drop off date tomorrow afternoon." So, I waited for the call from dispatcher. I did not get any call by the end of Wednesday. I called and I found out that they have not picked up my stuff yet. Their customer service was terrible. It has been already three days behind, but they do not think nothing is wrong! The moving consultant was very nice, but their service is not organized at all. Oh, I got a call on Tuesday morning 7am in CA time (I am already in CA) from their customer service "how did you move go yesterday?" The lady had no idea about the delay. I am still waiting for calls from them to be notified when they are picking up my stuff and when I am getting them here in CA.   .

Long-distance move from Texas to Georgia

Worse Company Ever!!

If you have any breathe left in your body DO NOT use this company.   They were 9 days late on delivery and I was missing boxes with important information that was packed and the company does not care.  CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST WITH THIS COMPANY.   Lets not forget about the extra charges for 2nd floor that the customer service representative fail to tell you about until the movers get to your residence.   This company was the worse decision I have made all year.

Long-distance move from Texas to Washington

Great Move.

After reading several reviews, I was hesitant to use any moving company - but I took a chance on this company. I'm glad I did. While the pickup was late, it was the same day and they were very professional and apologetic. The driver had a new truck, but you could tell there was engine trouble from the sound of the engine, so it was understandable that they were a little late when driving from Houston to San Antonio. After that, the experience was great. They arrived on time with my stuff, all intact. They unloaded with care and the price was exactly what was negotiated from the beginning. I have recommended these movers to other people.

Long-distance move from Texas to Iowa

Trashy packing, damaged goods, nonprofessional and very late delivery.

I am so motivated to write a review about my bad moving experience with Right Start Moving and American Knights. I signed a contract with Right Start moving for my move from Dallas to Iowa City for a full service pack and move. People from American Knights came to pack my stuff. First they arrived an hour late and then as soon as they stepped into the house they concluded that I had lot of stuff and raised the price. Needless to say that calling Right Start Moving was useless since they did not pick up my phone nor did they answer my voice mails, when thry were so prompt about it before I signed the contract. Since I was running short on time I signed a new contract with increased price. But what a trashy job they did with packing! They brought huge boxes and Literally just threw our stuff in their. They did not care whether the stuff was fragile or glass or whatever. They packed our counter top oven on top of wine glasses which of course broke when we received them. We have so much damages to our plastic wares and glassware! They threw in our XBOX in a huge packing box which had other hard things on top of each other. My 900$ mattress has a big tear and greasy stains all over. On top of this when the movers did not listen to our concerns when they were packing our stuff. I was told that the stuff will reach in 7-10 days but our stuff arrived so late. The dispatcher at American Knights did not answer my phone calls nor did she answer my voice mails. I had to dial another extension to reach her but I must say the guy was kind enough o walk over to her desk and talk to her. My advice would be to stay away from American Knights and Right Start Moving.  I had a very bad experience, I paid a whole lot of money and I have so much damage that I so regret going with them. .

Long-distance move from Ohio to New York

Great job.

I have moved from Ohio to new York. I have to say the best move yet. I will use them again. They were on time, fast, very nice and kind, very respectable. The three guys were amazing. I have been moved before but nothing like this. I have gotten all my things. Nothing was missing, nor broken. Just a happy face from me. Thanks so much. I was so very pleased with my choice. This time better than when I used United Van Lines. Then there were some broke things and TV was missing. Prices were OK, but I really just paid to have all my things broken or missing. My heart was at my feet. They were as useless as a clock flavored lollipop.

Long-distance move from Texas to Arizona

Highly recommended.

Moving is considered one of three stressful matter in life. I have already moved many times in my life. Day by day all movers are getting crazy with their prices which are out of range. But in my last move, luckily I found American knights through one of my friends. Their rate was quite reasonable and affordable to move me from Texas to Arizona. There was no hidden cost in the final bill also. The representative, Megan, have been helpful and informative. On moving day they called me one hour early to inform that they would come. Arturo, The leading person, arrived with other three crews. So far I can remember Joseph and Max were two names out of other three folks'. Unfortunately I forgot the other one’s name! However, they were skilled and supportive to meet my demand. Throughout the move they worked very hard and ensure the safety of my all belongings. I highly recommend them.
