Long-distance move from New Jersey to South Carolina

The best in every part.

I recently used American knights moving & storage to move my household stuffs to the newly rented apartment in South Carolina. Their employees have been sociable and cooperative. What made me surprised that their consciousness on every sector of work. The movers arrived on time just at 8 a in the morning exactly according to their quoted schedule. They were reliable and completed the move again within the timeline. If I am asked to say about them, I would rate them as good, dependable and efficient movers to whom you can leave your valuables. Their cost was also attractive in relation to the service provided for me. No broken items, no dirt items or no cracked items I found in the stuffs. They are the only mover for me.

Long-distance move from Ohio to New Jersey

Excellent process.

I highly recommend American knights.
Throughout the whole process they did everything excellent. They always replied my call and responded my emails quickly. Their estimate comparatively reasonable, moreover I think, for the weight of my stuffs that was lower. Because they wanted to keep their promise that the guys wouldn’t change the initial price. The crews were on time on calculation time and loading day. The care they took with the protection for my belongings made me really happy. They transported my items within the time frame they promised. Thanks American Knight for changing the stressful experience into a great one. You are really true mover.

Long-distance move from Ohio to New Jersey

Late and Broke Everthing!

Started off well: quick, friendly, and competitive moving quote.  The day of the move also went well with 4 guys moving everything in a very efficient manner. Then things went out of control.  I called multiple times to confirm my delivery date (was supposed to be 7 days later), but no one would call me back.  7 days after the original delivery date (I was staying in a motel all this time with a few pairs of clothes), they finally said someone would be by at noon that day (I had to take a day off from my job after I was already at work).  It wasn't until 6 pm that they showed up and it was only 2 guys!  Worst part of it was one guy was the driver, so he didn't help move anything.  It took 1 guy 5 hours to move all my stuff in and assemble it (I was so frustrated I even helped!).  Here's the worst part: they lost the screws to my bed frame (so it is still unassembled), they destroyed a side table, damaged my desk, broke half my kitchen plates and glasses, damaged my high end stereo speakers, tore apart the fabric on every corner of the mattress and box spring, and crushed every box that was moved (thankfully most of the stuff in the boxes were only scratched because of that).  They left my apartment at almost 1 am.  I will never go with this company again and highly suggest you avoid them, as well.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Do not recomend.

Do not use this company they have the worst service ever! They said my deposit was refundable
Then they tell you. 5-7 business days delivery they give you a date then when that date comes they say is another week then when you call again to confirm is one more day cause the driver doesn't want to deliver that day even though he is only 20 minutes away from where we live and then I call to complain and they hang up the phone. I do not recommend this company.

Long-distance move from Mississippi to Illinois

Flawless service.

How many stars I should give them! I think at least hundred.  The best decision I have taken this year is hiring American knights movers. They expertly moved my duplex household belongings from Mississippi to Illinois. They kept all things intact to move between both separate places those have great distance. I was highly satisfied. They maintained excellent communication with me. Their supervisor helped a lot suggesting me moving tips and to make the inventory list. That made the entire move flawless.

Long-distance move from Texas to New Mexico

Fast, safe move.

I don't understand all the negative reviews about this company.  All I had was a great, timely and most important safe delivery of my furniture.  They even transported a grandfather clock which can be very difficult to move.  Not one bit of damage and they even had to transfer the whole cargo from a small 14 foot truck to a semi and back to another 14 footer to get to my house which is on country dirt roads.

Long-distance move from Texas to New Jersey

Bait with low total $cost but 3x more expensive.

Main compaint is that they promised $1500 range and then when all items were loaded on the truck, it came up to be $4200.  After I complained, they reduced to $4000. Beware:  They can give you cheap price as a bait and then charge you much and much more.   At the end, you just want to move, so no choice but to pay the price. Uncomfortable experience.

Moving made easy..

I have moved many times in my life. I always dread moving. Lifting all that heavy furniture and appliances. Now that I'm getting older that has become even more of a challenge. I decided to hire movers to move all of the heavy items during this move. That was one of the best decisions of my lifetime. The moving team showed up on time and worked quickly and very efficiently. No time wasted. They moved a complete large truck load of my heaviest items in 4 hours plus 1 hour travel. For less than $500 we were moved.. Wow, that was amazing. They took apart the furniture that needed to be taken apart and reassembled it at the new house. They helped setting up the furniture at the new house. They were everything we could have ask for and more. Money well spent and my back is thanking them today.. I would highly recommend American Knights Movers.. I don't impress easily and I have been known to be very demanding, but no need to be that way with this transaction. This was moving made easy.

They steal your belongings.

Moved from California to Atlanta. Damaged and stole lots of my belongings have paperwork to prove with pictures and still no repayment from this company. They hit you with the bait and switch. Quote you one price, load your belongings and up the price. When u are moving who has the time to debate price once they have all your stuff on their truck. Also I paid the pick up drivers a Lil extra to try n guarantee my items where not stolen or damaged and my items still were stolen and damaged. All around horrible move. DO NOT. DO NOT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Long-distance move from Texas to Colorado

Worst experience ever.

I booked the company based on the good ratings and the fact they actually have their own trucks. Having your own trucks doesn't matter if you can't get them to you client anywhere near the time you promise. I understand that sometimes things happen, but when you book a plane ticket for 4 based on the moving company showing up by 12, and they can't show up by 7, something is wrong. I ended up having to cancel their services and get a penske truck, load it, drive it myself. I lost the money I had spent on the plane ticket and had to miss a day and a half of work because they couldn't be anywhere near accurate with their timing. Horrible experience.

Long-distance move from Texas to New York

Horrible Moving Company.

This "Unamerican" Moving company are swindlers. My move was in June of 2012 but I'm still furious about how I was treated. What wasn't broken or damaged was stolen of most of my furniture. They really went out of their way to be as un-American as possible. They quoted $5,500 for the move and added another $3,500 to the price before the same truck in my then driveway the company.
- Do not rebuttal comments or reviews left. I would have been better off renting a moving truck and a car trailer and taking turns with my husband driving from Texas to New York. I have regretted not doing that. The way they packed some of the items were horrible and made them get damaged. When my items finally showed up two weeks after the pickup in Texas, there were items missing that no one can pack, a trash can, a step-ladder and wheels were broken off other items like a pantry I owned and a laundry sorter. I'm still trying to find a replacement wheel for the laundry sorter almost four years later. I don't believe in throwing things out that can still be used. I'm by no means a millionaire. The movers that were hired in New York to move the items off the truck were ex-cons that weren't at all interested in working at all. One of the guys, whined the whole time how it was his birthday and fought with the driver to pay him first before moving anything which was over an hour's time. Coincidentally, it was also my husband's birthday and my husband and I were moving more of our things we spent $9,000 to be moved than the movers that were being paid to move our things. That same guy was also whining about moving heavy things. Dah, a real wood entertainment center weighs a lot and hey, don't move people's things for a living if you have a problem picking up people's heavy furniture. It was also raining and the driver was throwing our household goods off the truck in the middle of the rain. Did I mention the driver was very rude also? Well, I had a certified check made out for the rest of the amount for a grand total of $9,000 for the move to ensure I would not be milked out of anymore money. The truck that was moving our stuff had a big hole in the ceiling in the back of the truck. About ten boxes of our stuff was drenched ruining books, etc. Can you imagine spending a small fortune for the items you paid to have moved and then a lot of them getting ruined? Well, if you hire these foreigners plan on that exact thing happening. None of the employees that I have met were originally from the U.S. How can your name be "American Knights Moving" and you don't employ any real americans? You are better off moving yourself or selling and/or giving all of your stuff away before leaving. Their mediation to settle the claim you file is a complete joke! After nine months of waiting on the company to settle my claim, they tried to award me $5. That's a horrible joke! Thousands of dollars in damaging furniture and breaking more than a few things also. A box with pesos and other coins I had collected that I wanted the movers to tape up and put on the truck ended up mysteriously missing! At least over $100 worth coins that I didn't claim to be missing because I thought my claim would be settled for at least $1,000 to replace missing and broken items. So, they're also thieves!

Very bad company.

In September 2017, I used the moving service at this company but it was bad. This company charged me more money and spend more time to deliver the staff to my new home. When they delivered to my new home, they asked me pay cash and then they can load off the staff. Also they damaged my staffs (computer, chair, sofa and book shelf, lamp and so on) and most boxes were broken. This is the worst moving company which I met. I never look for this company again. Bad company, bad service, bad employees and high charges.

Move Houston 3 Bedroom.

These folks Jennifer, Kobi, Henry, Jose, and Luis provided all info I needed including coming to my house to provide free quote. Time spent loading and unloading was exact with the crew working quickly and efficiently. Unloading was to a 10X20 storage unit but Jose did a masterful job of utilizing the space. They always called 30 minutes before arrival and always met schedule. They are great.

Long-distance move from Austin, TX to Chicago, IL

Terrible move to Chicago.

This is about an American Knights move from Austin to Chicago in August 2018. I’ve held off on writing a review because the memory is painful. American Knights was negligent in the move:
They sent my queen mattress to the wrong city (!), broke other furniture, and tried to extort a $200 “long carry” fee when they brought the wrong truck in Chicago.

I do give credit to the dispatch team for being communicative and sympathetic. However the move was terrible: American Knights showed up late in Austin, causing trouble with the building elevator reservation. They were scheduled to pick up my mattress in Houston that day but rescheduled – and missed the new window. In Chicago, the truck they brought was too big (despite a $395 “delivery shuttle” fee to cover exactly this), and the delivery team tried to extort a $200 additional “long carry” fee.

My queen mattress was not on the truck. American Knights tracked it down a week later, on a truck to NYC. It arrived six weeks late; I had to buy another mattress in the meantime. My heavy, Italian wood dining room table was destroyed – looked like someone dragged it a long way over course concrete.

Don’t hire American Knights. And if you do, don’t expect them to do the job effectively or on time.

Moving truck caught on fire everything lost.

Last year, everything we owned along with 2 other families was lost. This company lied and was incompetent. Our moving truck caught on fire. This was last May and today we are still unable to reach the person in their company who's job is to help. Misty.
Chose another company, because if anything goes wrong you will regret it.
My family has suffered so much from this loss and is angered by the way it was handled.

Long-distance move from Texas to New Mexico

Moving to Las Cruces New Mexico.

I have been made promises from the beginning by Angela and now by Lilly.  When the movers came out for the first packing they were late and then they did not take everything.  My sister called the dispatcher and they told her to put it in a closet and they will pick it up on the final packing.  When I scheduled the 2nd packing (1 day before I was leaving for Algeria) they came out at 6:00 and told us it was too late, I had too much to pack.  I told the packers that they took the inventory, my house should be no surprise as far as the content.  I fed them dinner and they came back the next day to pack.  I had to prevail upon a friend to stay and supervise to make sure EVERYTHING was loaded on the truck as I was on my way to Algeria.  I was instructed by Angela to let her know when I wanted the furniture delivered.  No one said I have a minimum of 25 days after notification to get my furniture.  I was told to read what I signed.  I was told on Thursday that my furniture would be delivered on Monday or Tuesday.  Then I was told there was a truck problem.  I asked for an update, then finally called and was told the truck was fixed that my furniture would be delivered on Thursday – I asked for this in writing.  So Far I have received nothing.  Oh yes, I have now paid you in full and I have no furniture and no guarantee I am going to get my furniture. .

Long-distance move from Texas to Virginia

Horrible company, DO NOT CHOOSE, Absolutely NO customer service.

Short Review:DO NOT DO BUSINES WITH AMERICAN KNIGHT…
People I interacted with: Theresa (Sales), Jesus (Operator), Max (dispatch)

Longer Version:
I chose American Knights for my move fromTexastoVirginiajust because their quote was $100 less than American Movers. This turned out to be a BIG mistake.
The sales agent was Theresa who was very nice and friendly in the beginning but later on dropped the ball completely. She had absolutely no coordination with their dispatch section and stopped caring about my move.
I had to vacate the apartment and hand over the keys to management before 4 pm on the day of the move. The movers committed time of 9 am but showed up at 3 pm…. 6 hours late!! The sales agent Theresa dropped the ball and So, I had to directly deal with their dispatch blue collar worker named Jesus who was rude, ignorant and lacked professionalism. No customer service ethics or communication skills.
After showing up 6 hours late, instead of apologizing, the driver Jesus started negotiating with me and increased the price on the quote. He threatened me that either I pay up the money or he will go back. They very well knew that it was my last day of the apartment lease and that I had no choice but to pay up. I paid them as per the revised quote. THEIVES!
They kept my stuff in their Texaswarehouse for a month and on 29th April I gave them the final delivery address in VA. The dispatch section promised May 10th delivery but FAILED miserably and informed me on the day of the move that my stuff is still in their Texas warehouse!! All these 12 days… the sales agent communicated that everything is as per schedule! After bunch of frustration filled phone calls …they committed May 19th delivery. BUT here was another surprise…on May 16th I got a call from their dispatch that the truck is 50 miles away from my place and the delivery would be tomorrow between 11 to 1 pm and if I am not there, they are going to charge me $100 per hour as waiting charges.
I was frustrated and helpless, as they hung up the phone on me when I tried to argue that the company committed May 19th as the delivery date. I had to miss my work next day because the delivery time told to me was 11 am. I lost my entire day’s pay only to see the moving truck pulling into my apartment complex at 5 pm.

This whole experience was pathetic and beyond me.
Companies like American Knight should not stay in business. They are rude and unprofessional and treated me as if I am a fool who is paying over $1700 so that he can beg on his knees for moving favor.

DO NOT do business with them… Period

Even after reading so many bad reviews, if you decide to do business with them….then be ready for following:
PROS:
- Cheaper quote and false promises …until you pay deposit and are stuck with them

CONS:
-          Late pick up and delivery
-          Rude blue collar workers to deal with, no communication ethics
-          False telephonic promises
-          Terrible communication and customer service
-          Paying at least $300-500 more than the quote
-          Damaged good, all my picture frames broke, mattress shape gone, scratches on all
-          Bogus claim process
Their fleet size is a lie. Pickup was done by American Knight but they sub-contracted it to American Van Lines which made the actual delivery.

A Great HONEST Moving Company.

We went with American Knights because of the first impression we got of the salesperson. The company was able to pick up and deliver sooner than scheduled so that made things easier for us. My husband is confined to a wheelchair and it was imperative his medical equipment was in place before he arrived by plane.

We received a binding quote of $4000.00 for the move beforehand and nothing changed - even though I have heard of companies that give a low quote and then raise the fees once you get your household loaded.

The gentlemen who did the move were very professional and great to work with. Everything arrived undamaged and they left with everything in working order.

We would definitely recommend American Knights to anyone who is planning a move.

Terrible Company!

They were terrible, they hung up on me several times, Max the manager argued with me and I DID NOT RECIEVE all of my items, I was missing 3 very important boxes, and I recieved a box that belongs to someone else.. I stopped payment on my check because of this and can not get ahold of anyone to solve the problem.. just logged into my bank account and they charged my debit card a second deposit because they could not cash my check, however they never even told me they were doing this, which in itself is credit card fraud that I am currently reporting as well.. they still have yet to contact me to solve the issue.. I recommend you NEVER use this moving company, they are RUDE,UNRELIABLE, NOT TRUSTWORTHY, AND A TOTAL PAIN TO DEAL WITH.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!

Pickup and delivery.

If I were only reviewing pickup, I would have rated this move "excellent."  The movers arrived on the appointed day (they had tried to change the date last-minute, I raised a stink, and they left it).  There were 3 movers and a branch manager, Jesus Rodriguez.  Jesus was very friendly and professional, and the movers were efficient and friendly, as well.  I had a bad experience with another company that charged me for putting my mattress in plastic, packing some pictures, etc.  Jesus did not do that, and even disassembled some lamps and put them in a box for me.  The price charged was what I had been quoted, whereas in my previous experience, the actual price ended up being much higher tha the quote.  All in all, I was satisfied. Two days later, I realized I had packed my passport, and needed it for an upcoming trip.  Everyone at American Knights was so helpful.  When I called, they figured out that my stuff was at the storage facility in Dallas (I was using an extra month of storage since I didn't have an apartment in my new city yet), which is where Jesus works.  Not only was Jesus willing to stay late so that I could drive to Dallas from Austin, he located the box with the passport himself, and had it waiting for me when I got there.  In addition, he did not act put out or frustrated, though he had every right to be.  He went above and beyond his job description, and I really appreciate it. My things just arrived yesterday, about 10 days after the date I gave American Knights (they have up to 21 days to get your things to you).  The driver they sent was neither particularly friendly nor professional.  He arrived later than he had told me he would, and shoved the paperwork at me and asked for money.  He also asked me to start taking blankets off of furniture, and I had to request that he put a table back together.  The independent contractor he had helping him was great, though - very friendly, professional and efficient.  In addition, the price for my remaining balance did not change.  I do not know yet if things are broken or missing, as I just started unpacking.  But overall, I am satisfied with this company.  For the price, which I think is very fair, the service was good, and much better than my previous experience.

Sloppy job and missing items.

The office was friendly with the intial setup. When the actually works came by. We had to remind them as they were leaving to box up the bathroom items and the laundry room. They rushed to do everything but it's not our fault we had a 3 bedroom house. The day of the new delivery. The driver called us a few hours late because he overslept. When they got here. They had teenage kids helping their parents unload our ideas. distroying some plants and scraching our new hardwood floors. They put our desk back together wrong. While missing a frame that held our king size bed. Some boxes were missing numbers so the driver had to guess the number for the list. It was funny that we were missing some of the electronics and to this day they can't find it (playstation 3, xbox, and a netbook). not including a sensor trash can that was on the list but the driver insisted that it was in a box. I would avoid using this company. Besides the gentleman who did the quote for us. The service was horrible.
