Dishonest! Do not use this company.

They quote you one price and once the shipper arrives he tells you another price. They give you ship dates and never arrive or call. They had our shipment for two months and still gave us the run around. They have no problem taking your money but do not deliver the services promised. We ended up picking up our belongings.

Long-distance move from Ogden, UT to Colorado Springs, CO

Absolutely the worst moving company ever hired

Very small studio apt. move from UT to CO, Bait and switch with the square footage- tried to charge more at time of pick up and then outsourced to NV company - NO communication. STAY AWAY. They would not settle on a date of pickup- moving target then they call the day of and show up with a drive that spoke no English- was very rude to me - and then refused to take my stuff- then threatened to leave - I got a hold of customer service and they worked it out with the driver- but then they held my stuff fo the full 14 day period for deliver and came on a sunday- my stuff was throw in a budget rental truck (Streamline Movers - Las Vegas NV- a subcontractor) and I asked them to go through the invenstory with me- they would not until i released payment- they held my things hostage until I paid - then they just piled it up in my storage unit- and I was left counting the inventory myself- most boxes were damaged - retaped poorly and overall things were treated like garbage, my 2K mountain bike wheels were bent and twisted handled bards- completely brutal. I had NO furniture, nothing over 50lbs. They treated my things like trash and they were so awful to deal with - no one returned phonecalls and or my concerns - Most of this had to be done in cash - execept the deposit and I lost that as well with my Credit Card since they said nothing was damaged- BS I have photos and now I have to deal with them directly, CJ was a liar an scam artist once he took your money he was like a ghost- trash business they run and I would be careful, I lost 1500 I should have done it myself - they cost me 2 weeks extra in an airbnb - I hope they go out of business for such awful treatement of my goods - thank goodness no family heirlooms or valuables - I would be filing a claim - and probably will with state of FL. Move Date Nov 15, 2024.

Long-distance move from San Diego, CA to Dania, FL

I was Hesitant in the beginning, but it worked out wonderfully

I have to share my experience with Alliance Van Lines.. I was very hesitant to use a moving company again. After talking to several companies and gathering several quotes I decided on going with Alliance.. I spoke with a gentleman by the name Larry who was very kind and informative.. Although it wasn’t the cheapest of my quotes nor the highest, I now see it was done accurately. In past moving experience I was up charged at the time of the move, and had a horrible experience with the past movers customer service. Larry added proper fees at the time of the estimate and was very detailed on my inventory compared to my last moving experience.. I’m had one minor issue and was able to reach Larry and he addressed it Immediately. My Items arrived within a very reasonable timeframe. I highly recommend them.. Again thank you Alliance Van Lines and I’ll definitely recommend and if need, use you in the future..

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Florida

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS OR IT WILL COST YOU!!!

Basically, I contracted with Alliance Van Lines and gave them a list of what we were moving. Based on that list, they estimated 817 cf. and I paid them a deposit of $1180.

A few days before the move, after all was packed, we revised the list to 931 cf. I paid them another deposit of $789.39 for the difference . That left a balance of $2506.62, half of which they said I would pay on the day of the move and the other half when our items were delivered to Florida.

The company actually doing the move, their sub contracted “Expert” Movers from NJ, came on the day before our closing time. When 90% of our items were loaded onto their box truck, he said “we’ve reached the 931cf limit. I estimate it will be about another 300 cf left”. I protested and called Alliance. Alliance Dispatch was on speakerphone with them and all Alliance could say was I needed another binding estimate from “Expert” Movers to move forward. They did not challenge their figures which they themselves calculated based on the exact list that we provided. 300 cf is 1/3 more space than what was already loaded. The driver said it would be about an extra $1200 and they wanted cash. Then he called his office and said, “just give us $1000 extra". I said absolutely not. Since they had most of our belongings on the truck and we needed to vacate before noon the next day at closing, I was in a bind, so I adamantly said, "only $800 extra. I don’t care how you figure that out, but that’s it.” So he adjusted the final cf to 1156 cf based on the amount of money, not any accurate measurement at all. They left and I figured I’d take the issue up with Alliance and “Expert” Movers. On our way to Florida down I-95, I spent hours on the phone with both companies stating that there was no way we had 1/3 more cf than what Alliance had agreed upon and that the 1156 cf figure was based on a dollar amount, not a measurement. So all Alliance said all they could do was to have “Expert” Movers remeasure the load before delivery (it was taken to their wear house in NJ to be loaded on to a tractor trailer). They came back saying 1156 cf was the accurate measurement, and at that point Alliance bowed out. “Expert” movers agreed to reduce the $800 extra cost by $100, so I owed them $700 at this point in addition to what I owed Alliance.

When the tractor trailer pulled up, he demanded cash or no unload at our destination. I paid it and we got our belongings, some damaged as well.

After contacting the Florida AG's office, a representative and I spoke with John Edwards, Alliance's dispatch manager. All he could say was that the 1156 cf was an accurate measurement according to their sub contracted movers, refused to admit it was not accurate as it was never measured at my home, and was exactly the same in the warehouse in NJ with "Expert" Movers but based on an adjusted cf figure from a dollar amount at my home. Sound accurate to you? He said without pictures there was nothing he could do in spite of "doing the right thing". Stay away from these unethical people!

Long-distance move from Florida to Arizona

Bait and Switch - they will take your money

WARNING!!! AVOID!!! They will provide you with a great quote and then show up and try to charge you way more. I started out at $4200.00 then I did the review again before the move and they increased the price to $5500.00 I thought that would at least be safe, they showed up and wanted $11,000.00 to move me. They said I had way more stuff than what was quoted. Of course, I said I cannot pay this much I don't have it. So they tried to find another mover to do it for cheaper and they cam e back to me at $9000.00 on top of my $800.00 deposit. I explained I cannot afford it as I don't have the money for this. Of course they said ok if you reject the offer we are keeping your deposit. So I lost $800.00 and had to rent a truck and move it myself. Now mind you my original quote was for 1200 cubic feet and after the movers showed up they said it was 2300 cubic feet and thats why my price went up so much. So the original quote was almost 100% off. You would think they would have an idea when you provide a detailed inventory. They do not know what they are doing. To make matters worse, I packed all of my belongings in a 26ft truck to approximately 1700 cubic feet. So after the movers did a visual inspection of all my belongings they tried to over charge me on the spot by 600 cubic feet and not give me my deposit money back. This company tried to put me in a corner on a day that I planned to have everything done. Thankfully I was able and prepared to say no and had the time to make other arrangements. Most people do not have the option and they have to get the move done that day. I cannot imagine how many people have been taken advantage of by this company. Very disappointed with the experience. The lease they could have done was give me my deposit back since they completely missed the mark on the original and updated estimates. Their contracts are set to take advantage of you. Do not give them a deposit and I would recommend that you only work with a company that does a visual inspection of your goods and provides options if they are going to increase they charge for any reason. Be careful out there, apparently a lot of these small movers operate this way.

Long-distance move from Ardsley, NY to Madison, WI

Worst experience EVER

I booked a move with a $750 deposit with Paul Levine On April 11th, 2025 for my daughter who was starting a new job. He was very responsive and accommodating and told me they could deliver her things in the first two days of May. I missed some she had for the move so contacted to add the items I missed and expected to add to the price. They were again very accommodating. Then I looked again at the contract and there was no specified delivery date. I called on April 14th and 15th, no one answered on the 14th and on the 15th the woman said they have a 21 day delivery window – its in the fine print paragraph 8. I texted Paul directly and it took him two days to respond. When I made the deposit, I was told they could meet my delivery needs until the after cancelation time then it was we can’t guarantee anything. I immediately told them that was not what I agreed on and I could not do the move that way. This was NOT what I agreed to.

Awful

Our initial experience with Alliance started off well—but it quickly went downhill. They brokered our move to a company with a reputation for damaging belongings and failing to deliver on time.

Our delivery was over two weeks late, and when it finally arrived, many items were soaking wet and damaged. Even the movers, who were subcontracted by Move On ( move on is the company subcontracted by alliance) admitted this kind of mishandling is typical for them.

When we tried to contact Move On, they hung up immediately. Alliance, our original point of contact, has been equally unhelpful. We trusted them to handle our move professionally, but instead, they partnered with unreliable companies and put our entire move—and belongings—at risk.

Long-distance move from Santa Rosa, CA to Manassas, VA

Lots of fake reviews. Lots of red flags.

Cancelled my move after too many red flags.

The agents on the phone seemed professional and very friendly. The price they gave for a cross-country move was amazing (too good to be true). I read the contract details, and it was standard language for a moving Broker; for example, they can cancel your move if they're unable to find a truck and refund you in full (leaving you stuck without a move).

That language only scared me because the company has no reviews older than 6 months, and all the reviews seem fake (confirmed by Yelp, showing them as "not recommended" and Google, which removed their business page. Also see their BBB page, which shows them as being in business for 14 years, but with reviews only since January 2019.)

I had paid a deposit which the contract showed as fully refundable with enough notice. I gave notice, and had to endure multiple high pressure sales calls before getting the refund 9 business days later (despite the contract saying 7 business days).

Be cautious with this company.

On 6/11/2019 I was contacted by Jennifer from Alliance Van Lines offering me $100 in order to remove this same review on Yelp. I can't be bought (well, maybe for $1 million..).

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Worst move ever.

Moved to Florida they treated our belongs like garbage. To many broken, wet boxes. They had no care for fragile and lied about the weight of the load. They didn't have enough room so they had to rent another truck (U Haul) they delivered the first truck the second truck went straight to Miami where they unloaded and put our stuff on another truck that went BACK TO NEW YORK and then finally a week later made it to our destination and then they tried to screw us out of another $700 saying that was the balance due to weight.. This was the worst and most deceiving experience. The insurance is a joke..I would never ever recommend them..they don't even deserve one star they are a negative..

Very Unprofessional.

If I could give -5 stars I would. 1st Devin Burke lies to us and tells us that we can put down 649 and if we find another company before the day ends we can have a full refund. We find another company and call back to get our refund and he cuts us off, overtalks everyother word, insulted us and would not compensate. I ended up just hanging up on him because it was clear he was an uneducated fool. So we ended up inconveniently having to call our cc company to dispute but have to wait til the payment post which holds our money up and have to pay full price at different company. So if you want time wasted, lied to, manipulated then go with this company. If you're smart after reading this. I would pull every piece of furniture hand by hand from Ga to Az before I ever think of doing business with them again. Namaste.

Liars.

Complete trash. They call and get your money for a broker fee and then hand you off to a mover. When I mean hand you off I mean completely wash their hands of the move. I recently had my personal items moved out of state. The mover damage almost all of my items. 4k is losses. My wife was pressured into signing a insurance doc for which she did not understand at the time of the move. After 120 day claim process the co offered us $90.00.

Due you due diligence and select another broker.
FIRST CLASS THIEVES.. MY ADVICE WOULD BE IMMEDIATELY FIND A NEW CO OR DONT USE A BROKER AT ALL.

Long-distance move from Atlanta, GA to Jacksonville, FL

Awful movers.

It was awful from beginning to end. On the broker Side it took five attempts for them to accurately categorize all of my inventory. It wasn’t until a competitor who actually did an in-home walk-through was I able to get an accurate account of what it was going to require for my belongings to be moved. Because of what they told me I knew at the estimate I was getting from alliance it’s going to be false and that once the actual movers got there the cost we’re going to escalate. So I had my parents make two separate trips from Florida to Atlanta Georgia to retrieve approximately 1/3 of my belongings just to get the cubic square footage down to what they had estimated. Then the movers got there although all of my house with Pat they took eight hours to move the furniture into the truck and then they still found a way to claim I had 50 extra boxes and increase the price by $379. Once we got to my destinations they dropped one of my most prized possession pictures and broke the frame. My framer said that to replace the frame alone it would be $250. Then when it was time to reassemble the furniture they brought the wrong pieces in order to assemble one of the bedrooms it was one of the most frustrating disorganized moves I’ve ever had and I’ve moved cross country three times. I literally got into an archery match with one of the workers which nearly led to a physical altercation. My recommendation would be to avoid this company even if other companies charge more.

Stay Far Away: Useless Brokers Contracting w/ Hostage Moving Companies

I’ll start by owning the fact that I’m an idiot and I didn’t do my research when it came to booking a move, and that’s how I ended up brokering through Alliance Van Lines. 27 days later, I’m in a standoff with the hostage moving broker Alliance contracted my move with, and Alliance has washed their hands of the situation (and what’s better, they have fine print saying this is totally within their service terms).

Here’s what you need to know before making my mistake:

1. Alliance are not movers, they’re moving brokers - they say this on their site, but when you call them for a quote, they’ll make it sound like they’re the ones moving you / the ones you’ll be working with (“we have a truck going there on X date”, “we’ll be leading you through the entire process”, etc.).

2. Alliance will reference their good BBB rating to gain your confidence, but at the end of the day, their BBB rating is irrelevant. Once they hand you off to a set of movers, their contractual obligation to you is over. There is no reason you should EVER book a move through a broker. Book directly with a moving company.

3. Alliance has a methodical approach to getting you to book with them. They’re super friendly & helpful when they’re booking with you: quick to answer the phone, quick to follow up, attentive, etc. After you tell them your moving items, they’ll go back and forth with their scheduler (putting you on hold several times) to “get you the best deal”. They’ll highly incentivize you to book right then, saying they can only give you certain discounts if you book right then. They will discount the initial quoted cost at least a couple of times if you tell them you’re not ready to book after “consulting with their scheduling team”.

4. Once you agree to book, they’ll require you to sign the contract while on the phone with them. I can only imagine that this is to make you rush through reading the lengthy terms of service agreement, which contains all the info you really should read before making this mistake.

Highlights include:

-Alliance not being responsible for anything beyond handing you off to another company

-Alliance’s terms of service that you’re signing are superseded by the terms of service for whoever they book your move though

5. Alliance is deceptive in the info they provide you around your move. When I asked about the optional move insurance, my representative Lisa M told me that I was already insured up to $10,000.00. Because of this, I declined the additional coverage. Come to find out in the fine print that you’re guaranteed up to $10,000.00 of coverage based on a prorated dollar amount based on the weight of your move. That rate is $0.60 per pound based on their weight estimate, meaning if the movers break all your stuff, they’re going to pay you pennies on the dollar (read: your $3,000 couch that weighs 300 pounds is “insured” at $180 if they break it).

BOTTOM LINE - don’t make this mistake. Book directly through a reputable moving company with their own trucks. Brokers do nothing but skim money off the top and then wash their hands of you.

As for me, I’m stuck in a hostage mover standoff with the “moving company” Alliance booked me through. Come to find out that the moving company is not actually a moving company, but another moving broker. They’ve handed my items off to another transportation company, who has scheduled to deliver to me twice now, but on the day of delivery never shows up, never calls, never updates. Every time I call, they tell me “it’s going to be 5 or 10 more days.” We’ve been doing this for almost 30 days and I’m being told it’s going to be another 10.

This will inevitably end in small claims court, which will cost more than the move itself, and it’s very likely I’ll never see my stuff again. Book smarter - don’t make my mistake.

Horrible service, missing boxes, 3 months late

If I could give this -1000000 stars I would. Pleas do not hire them. I hired Alliance for my move from Florida to California in September. They seemed promising and legit at first. They picked up my belongings the first week of September. The company they hired to handle my move didn’t deliver til Christmas Day. That was over 3 months since pickup!! Not only did Alliance not give me any answers every time I called and asked for my stuff, their customer service rep was rude & told me it was out of their control since they’re the broker. They never apologized for the inconvenience. On top of that, when my belongings arrived, only HALF of my boxes were delivered. The truck driver called his boss who told him they accidentally left the rest of my stuff in the storage. They didn’t bother to tell me that until they delivered. The boxes that did arrive were banged up and obviously rummaged through. This company should not be allowed to do business. How is it acceptable to not deliver for 3 MONTHS? Then deliver only HALF the boxes without telling the customer beforehand? And RUMMAGING through their belongings? Please please please do not hire Alliance. I am planning to take legal action against the company they hired to take care of my move.

***** DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY****

. I couldn't make this up. These people are Brokers, when I called about my issues, basically said, too bad you are lying. Subcontracted mover showed up with a truck 3/4 full. I have a 3 bedroom house, I said it won't fit - sure it will he says - I insisted it would not fit. No problem, they started unloading the truck filled with someone elses property onto my driveway . Photo Attached. I live 3 miles from Meth city - they cruise our neighborhood nightly and steal what ever is out - These movers said another truck will come in a day or so for this other persons property left in my driveway.

Skip to a few hours later - truck is all but about 2 feet from full and they haven't loaded 1/2 of my stuff. No problem, they will send another truck for the other persons stuff in a day or so and pick up the rest of mine - NOT - I made them unload my stuff.

There were 3 movers, the boss, an older gentleman and a very nice young kid. The boss was rude from moment one, the older gentleman had massive diarrhea and destroyed my toilet and bathroom. None wore masks or gloves, so much for covid in California. The movers were so bad the nice young man called me 4 days later to see if I was okay and apologize for his coworkers actions. He informed me the boss and older gentleman were smoking METH on the way to my house.

I had to rent a uhaul and have friend help me pack it. I am still fighting with the credit card company to return my money for services not rendered. Who ever's stuff this was, I hope you got it. I'm so sorry, I had no way to find out who you were - it may still be in Big Bear California.

Listen to the warnings - DO NOT USE THEM

WORST experience I've ever had with any company - their customer service philosophy is practically non-existent. They told me so many different things for a selling sake and none of it was true when it came to the real service.

Nothing happened as it was supposed to:

- scheduling a pick up time

- receiving my things "within 7-10 days" (got it after more than two weeks)

- every person I spoke to either withheld info from me or yelled at me

The 2 biggest thing I am upset about is 1. I had requested my personal data as a customer and for it to be deleted (and according to CA law, this is a right that I have) but I was instead told that I am not allowed to have access to my own information and that I was a waste of their time.

And 2. When they finally arrived, I had a few of my things broken and no one will respond to my inquiries. The amount of mental and emotional stress and anxiety they gave to me is not worth the amount they charged me - DO NOT use them!

Service recommended.

Some friends recommend this company since I am in the process of moving across the country. I am moving across the country to find and maintain another job. So I have to move with the most care to another city. Alliance Van Lines assisted me with the most care.

I had to move some high tech equipment, and valuable electronics needed for my job. Therefore I had to get a quote from this company. The charge was about $2250, and that was before I receive a special discount from this company. The movers I met were very polite and quick. They made sure to handle everything with care and counted each item in every moving box. This company is well worth the price.

Great service. I would use them again!

Alliance Van Line is a great moving company! They are very kind, professional, and punctual. I had to make a quick move from Florida to Missouri with two children. It was crazy, but with the services they offer and all the care they put into making sure your things arrive safe moving was so much easier. So none of my things were lost or damaged. They gave me a reasonable quote for how far of a move I was doing. I was able to be moved into my new house in the time frame I wanted! If I have to move again I would continue using this company as well as recommend to friends and family.

Great Company!

I had just recently graduated college and was offered a job in South Carolina, which was great. But the problem was I currently lived in Pennsylvania, and over the last 5 years had accumulated a ton of stuff. Luckily in my search for a moving company, I came across Alliance Van Lines. I was looking for a company that can handle all of my belongings with the care as if they were their own, as well as relieve some of the stresses that go along with a big move. Saying they did just that would be an understatement. They went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. Their staff took excellent care of my belongings, and I have no complaints. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs help moving. Great company!

Big help for a modest price.

I want to give a huge thanks to Alliance Van Lines for helping me and my family make the move out of our 4 bedroom house.

Even though we have a lot of furniture and had kind of a mess due to us getting short notice for moving, they got us all moved out in under 4 hours, which honestly impressed me. On top of that our movers Tom and Will were super friendly and personable, and had us laughing even though my wife was stressed to start the day.

For anyone looking to move, I’d highly recommend Alliances services, they were very professional and reduced a lot of the stress that comes with moving. I will definitely be using their services again in the future!
