Long-distance move from Verdunville, WV to Baird, TX

Bad Experience.

Its been 22 days and no delivery yet. I called every day to give me the updates of my delivery, No answer from them. They told me we going to call the dispatcher and let you know but I haven't heard anything yet. No one reply to my emails. Terrible business they are.
Before I took the decision to sign with them and set up the pickup date and the costs, They were answering my phones and emails and texts like crazy. They called me 10 times before I took the decision to go with them .
But now no body answer me and give me updates. Its been 22 days no delivery yet.
I will keep you updated after the delivery.

Excellent Movers.

Great experience with Alliance Van Lines!! Effective communication in the weeks leading up to the move to ensure schedule and crew alignment. On the day of the move the team showed up on time and got right to work. They had the truck loaded up in short order and took great care handling all of my items. The unload went just as smoothly. Very approachable, professional, and efficient. Thanks guys!!

Great Services.

This was the first time I used a moving company and was so happy with this company. The guys arrived the morning of the move a few minutes early and were extremely efficient and personable. The price was exactly what I was quoted what they say you will pay that is what you pay & they took extreme care with all my furniture, TV's, entertainment system, some delicate furniture items and even moved a few patio things that I almost forgot. I highly recommend these guys!

Unbelievably poor etiquette and customer service.

This moving broker company "dropped" at the end of the second day of my two day pick up window. I signing a contract, paid a security deposit and scheduled a pick up window four weeks prior to my move. I was contacted five days prior to my move to confirm the pick up window. I was told I would be contacted directly by the truck drive a day prior and two hours prior to pick up. After I did not hear anything during both days of my pick up window I was concerned. I called Alliance Van Lines Inc. and was told that my move had been cancelled. They did not contact me to let me know this or have any offer of rescheduling or compensation. I was left with two days to rearrange my moving plans prior to leaving the state. I cannot believe this company continues to function as a business with this unimaginably poor level of customer service.

Nightmare!

Run as fast as you can! IF that is all you read good and go find a true respectable moving company. We have been without our stuff going on 2 weeks..we had to purchase an air mattress, new clothes, kitchenware, you name it just to make it by. The company simply doesn't care and uses an ill worded contract to get by without having to deliver your stuff when you asked. (10 days, up to 31 days, only business day count, etc.) This also includes a misguided distance definer of when your stuff will be delivered..but only if they have a full truck. Not only have they lied about times, dates, and pickups, but the level of disrespect they have towards people is beyond me. They sell you on guarantees and promises but only for you to sign the contract and not back them up. Who can live without their whole house for 1 whole month? I repeat..RUN!

Excellent Moving Service.

David and John were wonderful. They are both very polite young men. They used blankets and wraps to protect some of my larger furniture and got the truck loaded pretty quickly. They managed to move my furniture in under 4 hours even though I had to return to the old apartment leasing office for the new key I left there. When I came back, they had already unloaded my outside furniture and was waiting. They made sure the furniture was placed where I wanted. It was a pleasure working with them!

Scam do not waiste your money. Only a reseller.

I contacted Alliance Van Line to help my widowed mother move to live with me. I believed they were a large reputable company and I was willing to pay the corporate rate to be sure my mother had reputable business to deal with. I did pay more than the disreputable sounding movers who called to bid my job. But I got the exact same disreputable movers but paid several thousand dollars more. When the car mover arrived he had to have cash and no receipt. When I told my wife to refuse the pickup they gave a receipt. When he delivered the car he said we didn't pay and had to pay cash to receive the car, as if this guy ever took a car without being paid first. He then back pedaled when we reminded him he signed a receipt.
The mover of the house hold goods can not deliver on the time I was told my the sales rep at alliance, because we were leaving out of country just under three weeks after the pick up. Trying to get help from Alliance operators and customer service was merely rude, demeaning, and quite evident had no intention of ever helping. In fact laughed at me that I did not ask if they were brokers before making the deal. Their website filled of "Alliance Van Lines is a Florida Long Distance mover and relocation provider. We offer a variety of interstate moving services". but in very small font on the bottom of the website says they are brokers. So I guess their lawyer thinks that will save them from consumer fraud legal action. We will see.

My subcontracted mover's advertised phone number is a cell phone. My Alliance rep sales email returns undeliverable. If I try to speak with him on the phone if I tell the operator who I am I get hung up on. If I refuse they refuse to forward the call or provide me with a supervisor, or legal department.

Since they refuse to allow me to speak to anyone other than an operator I will be conducting my own investigation, and seeking assistance from the Florida Attorney General.

Obviously I do not recommend this company. Anyone interested in a class action law suite feel free to contact me.

Great Movers.

Not only did Alliance Van Lines give me the best quote around but their movers of Trevor, Scott and Larry are the best. I have never seen a team worked so in sync before. I had a 4 level home to move from and they handled everything perfectly. Nothing broken or scratched and so much fun to work with. You can tell when employees are happy. Way to go Alliance Van Lines.

Excellent Work.

I've used this company 2 times in the past year. They helped me move int my storage and then to my home. The most recent move was all the way to New York City, NY. They are the best priced moving company in the area, but also the best value. They can provide movers and a truck or just movers.
They've never broken a single item, always been on time and professional. I highly recommend them. The owner accommodated my change in schedule with no quarrels.
I've referred three friends. They've all had the same professional experience.

A Move to Remember.

Absolute nightmare. If I could keep one person from using this company, I will be satisfied. The company they subcontracted to was not only 6 hours late to pick up my items, but they refused to honor the terms of the contract. They refused to break down furniture, they came up with an estimate nearly double what Alliance did (despite my having several fewer pieces of furniture and about HALF the boxes allowed in the quote), the mover actually gestured to one of my boxes and said "see how this U-Haul box says 6 cu ft on it? We actually count them as 9 or 10." I wound up jettisoning most of my furniture because I just couldn't afford to move it. Then they want to charge me for the flight of stairs, even though I'm supposed to have one flight of stairs free (and it was only one flight of stairs, as I was on the 2nd floor). Anyway, I was hoping to make things as headache-free as possible because I was moving cross country for a new job. If I refused the late movers, I would not have been able to move on time. So now it is my worst nightmare - I have been sleeping on the floor and living out of a suitcase for 3 weeks at my new place. The subcontracted company emailed me only once to tell me I still owe them money on delivery, but they would not say when delivery is. When I inquired about that, the scheduler was rude and basically told me I'll get my things when I get them. I'm not sure my stuff even exists anymore. (FYI If you look, average delivery times for cross-country moves are 10-14 days - so with 3 weeks plus I am NOT being unreasonable.) Don't use this company; it's a joke.

Awful. Avoid. They will try to rip you off.

Their contract means nothing. They locked us in, then changed everything. When I tried to back out, they pointed to their contract, which allows them to raise the rate after locking it in but doesn't allow you to take things off the move in an effort to lower it.

Read the reviews on other sites. My wife and I knew this would happen as every other review says something similar. But we took the leap anyway and it bit us in the ass.

I guess we should have known when the BBB complaints was the first thing that came up when we searched for the company on Google. So it's kind of on us.

Just avoid it unless you really want to give them all your money.

Worst Moving Experience Ever.

Every Single one of my pieces of furniture was delivered to me damaged. Do not believe in the white glove service they promise over the phone. They are a broker and not the company actually moving your items. I have missing items and screws and now pieces can not be put back together. I was charged an additional $700 dollars when the movers showed up tp move because supposedly my estimate was wrong. When they didn't even take everything I had listed on my contract and still had to pay more. Very unprofessional and very difficult to deal with now that I have everything damaged.

The worst company I ever paid.

I have had ultimately the worst experience with Alliance. The I have now been emailing with them for a week. After I sent them all the details of how their mover screamed at me and scratched my furniture, their estimation expert miswrote the contract, the company refuses to take any responsibility for the errors it has committed. I want other customers to know how poor this service is and be dissuaded from using them. I was taken in by their 'nice agents' who made promises they were unable to keep. Two weeks later I am still fighting for my baggage and trying to get the company to take some semblance of responsibility for the days of frustration I have endured.

I think the 5 stars come from employees of this horrible company.

Let me say this is a horrible service.
As a person that has moved multiple times using U-Haul and has helped others move, I understand how to pack/unpack and deliver things safely. However, Alliance Van Lines has been an ongoing headache.

I hired this service to move from Houston to Florida, and received all the information at once from Ryan at Alliance Van Lines. Their estimate seemed to be about half of what I was going to pay at other services. Over the phone, Ryan was incredibly organized and provided me with real-time emails answering and updating all my information. However, I was not told (nor it has been stated in any documentation) that they hire third-party movers for household items. I was only made aware that the car pick up would be different from the Alliance Van Lines house pick up.

Their timelines for picking up and dropping off were completely different from the original estimates. They picked the car July 8th, the household items July 11th, and they dropped the car at Florida July 12th and our household items July 21st. l was told to do two money orders (one for pick up and one for drop off) but I somehow ended up giving both of them as there were "additional costs". Other additional costs were asked in cash and I was given a final receipt (invoice) that is hand-written. If you are going to be paid by an employer, hand-written receipts are not reimbursed by companies. I have been requesting from Alliance Van Lines to have a digital document validating this hand-written receipt since August 2019 and they forwarded me to the third-party movers who cannot assist me. I will be reimbursed less than 50% of what I paid.

I would love to say that my experience was fine, but after packing everything with care, I saw the Florida movers drop boxes in front of me and place things with the THIS SIDE UP turned down. We helped with the packing and unpacking to make sure our furniture was fine and still, they broke glass and our air fryer.

I have tried to be patient by requesting the invoice as a digital PDF, or any type of documentation that I hired their services, but they only provide me with the original estimate. Honestly, I have been waiting to get this document to get my +$4000 that I paid back from my employer but Alliance Van Lines has been avoiding my emails. Their customer service was shallow and only cared for payment.

Please, learn from my mistake, go with any other service.

They lie to get your contract.

Alliance Van Lines is the worst moving company out there. They will Lie to you and make false promises to get you to sign the contract, then that is the last you will hear from them until they want paid. They sub contract out the move to other movers, and will not take any responsibility for anything that goes wrong. I was told by the salesman Renee that once I call to tell them I am ready to have my stuff delivered, it would only be a few days to get my stuff, but that is a big fat lie. It takes 14 to 21 days to get your stuff once you tell them you are ready. The movers also left so much of my stuff at my old house, I had to rent a trailer to get the rest myself. They do not return emails or phone calls, and I left many with not a single response. I finally got a hold of someone from customer service this morning, and she had no desire to help me at all and could not give me any possible delivery date. I also informed customer service that my sons extra diabetes stuff was in our belongings, and we only brought a few weeks supply with us because the salesman told us it would only be a few days from when we told them we would be ready(as I stated before)Customer service acted like they could care less. I had to click one star to be able to post this, but if I could, I would give them a negative 100 stars. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND GET YOURSELF STUCK LIKE I DID.

Good Moving Service.

We chose Alliance Van Lines for our move that based on their reviews and the only feedback I have is their booking system but their people were great. We booked in a move at 7AM and the guys arrived on time. They got to work straight away and our house was packed up in the truck in no time. Even when 1 had to make some calls, he continued moving, even when I told him to take 5 mins to finish the call. They were very careful with our stuff and we only had to unpacks. I will definitely recommend Alliance Van Lines to any of our friends and family who need movers!

Bad Costumer Service.

I spoke with a consultant and a manager, and both have outrageous costumer service. Both threatened and approached me with scare tactics if I wouldn't book with them. It surprised me but it definitely showed how unprofessional they are. They have about 10 complaints recorded just in 2019 alone (recorded in DOT website). Ultimately, I'm happy that they showed who they are as a company and glad that I didn't go with them at the end.

Incompetent Circus Show.

As the Subject states.. INCOMPETENT CIRCUS SHOW! I had full confidence in my sales man Rene would deliver on his promise and it was a disaster. I could have hired a couple of teenagers with that drivers licensees and they would have done a better job. Do not fall for the "Moving Coordinator" crap. They will tell you yes to anything just to get your deposit, once they do they will outsource your contract, thus leaving them off the hook for anything that goes wrong after that. Do yourself a favor and hang up on them! Poor communication, Quality Control is non-existence, they do not vet who they outsource to, and they do not keep the third party company honest and leave it all to you to manage and coordinate.

Great Experience.

The supervisor and team team who came from Alliance Van Lines were very friendly and quick. They carefully wrapped up our furniture and fragile items (tvs, mirrors, decorations). Last year, we moved across the hall of our old complex and it took weeks. They made this move a lot less stressful and quick. There was a bit of a hold up moving into the new place as other tenants were also moving and the elevator had to be shared. During that time we were able to unpack- nothing was damaged or broken. We are very satisfied. They're very efficient and nice, they know what they're doing. I've heard so many horror stories about bad moving companies but that was not the case with this company. We would use them again and recommend them if you're moving (even across the hall).

Unethical, Lied, Terrible Company.

Alliance Van Lines, like many other movers emailed me and called when I put out into the interwebs that I was moving from CO to TN. I have never been through this process before and everyone I had talked to were from companies I hadn't heard about. I made a call to Alliance a couple of weeks before our semi-sudden move and spoke with Mark. He was friendly, still pushy like some of the other guys I talked to, but he seemed ok. I wasn't ready to book with them, but he pressured me citing a few things: my move was coming up quickly and the cost would only increase..this company should be trusted and has "five star reviews" all over the internet..we will take such good care of you..these were all falsehoods. This company has terrible reviews, except on moving review cites (shady..) They are a broker, not a moving company and they are not upfront about this. They take a large portion of money from you for a "deposit" and do zero work. They are horrible estimators and do not show up on site to see your items. In fact, when I asked to have someone out, it was suggested to me that I seek out another estimate from another company and then to let them know what that company said and they would honor that estimate. I started to feel uneasy after some research, especially after finding out that they had such horrible reviews and were not really a moving company. I reached out on my cancellations day to cancel. I was ignored. My phone call was not returned. And I recieved an email the next day saying I missed the cancellation window by 15 minutes. I tried to reach back out to my supposed agent who was helping me through all this, Mark, and he did not respond. He wouldn't even talk to me anymore via phone or email! No one could tell me why. I spoke with the dispatch manager John. He was rude and aggressive and completely unsympathetic. He even said, "maybe moving just isn't for you" and refused to refund my deposit. Firstly, half of my stuff was not taken by the movers. It wasn't an underestimation. Items on my inventory that Alliance estimated were not put on the truck. Second, when I signed the document Mark sent me, which he was very hastily trying to get me to sign without encouraging me to read anything, he portrayed it as a credit card receipt. He said this one is just a quick signature, no big deal..it was a big deal. This company is not upfront about who they are, they are NOT a moving company. They took 652.00 of a 2500 move for lying to me, treating me rudely, ignoring me, and to do an inaccurate over the phone estimation of my stuff. Always ask in advance if the company is a broker. NEVER use a broker to book a move. I am taking this far and wide so no one has my experience. Do not give your hard earned money or your time to these people during a stressful and eventful thing like a move. Finally, because they do nothing to educate you on the process, nor make any attempt to be upfront during the "sell" they don't mention things like you'll be without your stuff for up to 21 days legally..just go with uhaul or pods and save yourself from this scam.

Long-distance move from Orlando, FL to San Antonio, TX

Is there a - 5 stars, because they don’t deserve any at all.

First let me say Richard was very misleading in the entire process. I had spoken with numerous moving companies and was exhausted. I trusted his advice and went ahead and signed with this company. Worst mistake ever. I provided all of my items and had an estimate of $5200. Which was reasonable for a large move. FL to TX. Let me just say they are a broker and they outsource to whatever company they want. First the movers arrived a day later than promised. Then when they showed up they had a truck that was completely full.. No packing supplies and had to run to Home Depot to get some. Not to mention they had no idea how they were going to move my stuff. They ended up going and getting another rental truck and loaded that one with all of our stuff. This large truck sat in our driveway for days apparently. But that’s not even the worst of it. It was a full move/pack service. And my 5 year old could have done a better job. Things were just randomly thrown in boxes, it made no sense. We had tons of things that arrived broken, and their insurance is complete joke. I honestly have no other words or advice other than do yourself a favor and go with ANYONE else because I don’t think you can get any worse service. Oh not to mention they completely lie to you. We gave them a window to deliver our items, and apparently that window is just the start of their 10 day delivery windows. So it took us 2 weeks to get our things. Then the truck arrives at our new destination in TX, and it isn’t the same truck they picked our stuff in, it’s probably the biggest truck I have ever seen. This is when it got even more complicated, they increased our delivery fees because their truck had a hard time parking on the street and they had to park away. So we had additional delivery fees, etc. so now we are closer to the $7k mark and wouldn’t unload our things unless we agreed. So we were stuck. Now that our items have been delivered we have so many items that are broken, desks, computer monitors that were packed horribly, large TV with a hole in the screen, not to mention all the small broken items in boxes they just shoved in. Oh and did I mention the items that are missing. I could go on, but the anger and frustration this horrible company caused I have no words. Seriously if you value your things, and your sanity stay far far away. Packing and doing it yourself is stressful but I would do it if I knew how this would have turned out. Disgusting that this company is even still operating, and I don’t know how these sales people can sleep at night. We have a few thousand in damaged items, that are a complete loss. A $500 computer monitor only weighs 3 pounds, therefore their insurance would pay us $1.80 for it. Yes you read that right! .60 cents per pound! What a complete joke!

**beware- They Lie!!

The salesperson assured me the quote she gave me was for a 5x10 unit at full capacity would be 402cf. What she neglected to tell me was that if I went over that cf I would be charged extra. As a matter of fact she assured me that the quote was firm price and unlike other companies that give you a low price only to charge more on moving day. She said there was no way judging by all the items and size of unit that it could be more. So guess what? Movers came and wanted 400.00 extra because my unit was at 500 cf. So now I’m stuck because they have a deposit of over $600. I called Customer Service super rude and told me I should have read my contract. Which I did by the way. Oh by the way, I also have in writing that they would beat any price. Guess what? A Big fat lie! Pay a little extra and get a POD is my advise. It would have basically came out to the same but without hearing a bunch of lies and dealing with terrible deceitful people.

Avoid using this company. Horrible service, they immediately hand you off to some other company you never heard of who provides equally terrible service. Calling customer service, accounting, billing, no help, that is to say when you could even get a real person on the phone. Long-distance move from Boston, MA to San Diego, CA

Not great.

I booked a move with alliance van lines and their subcontractor ocean moving handled my move (which I wasn't informed till 3 days before pickup). Alliance person said they only hire movers with 4-5 stars, but ocean moving has 1.5 stars on yelp and 2.3 on Google. Very disappointing. The price was good, the pick up went well, but nothing after that.. Blake at alliance said the delivery would take 9-12 calendar days. It actually took 4.5 weeks.

Ocean moving review:
Delivery date confusion: I thought the fate meant the first date I'll be able to receive the delivery. I had no idea that my stuff would be warehoused till after that day, which was one week. It was very frustrating to find out about this, which delayed the delivery, which in the end, took 4.5 weeks (pick up: 7/25, delivery 8/21).
The mover guys who picked up my stuff were all fine.

This review is mainly to file a serious complaint against George, the main guy who made the delivery in san Diego. Initially, he said he'd deliver between 2 and 5 pm. He then called the morning of and said he was pulled over for broken light and that he wouldn't get here till 5-7 because he had to fix the light. It was inconvenient, but I wasn't going to bring it up stun free stuff happens. He didn't end up arriving till 8 pm and the real problem began. Before starting to unload, he wanted to see my apt. He said there's overcharge of $1 per feet after 75 feet from the truck. Then he started measuring the distance from my apt door to the elevator then from the elevator to the truck with his feet. When I booked the move, I was told that the surcharge is if the truck can't be parked within 100 feet from the apt building. The geico was parked maybe 10 feet away from the apt entrance. When I mentioned this to George, he said that wasn't true and that the distance was from the truck to my door including inside the apt building hallway. That sounded ridiculous. He said the distance was 325 feet, so $250 overcharge but he'd only(!?!) Charge me $150. The amount I owed was $590, so 150 was a lot. I tried to negotiate, but he wouldn't back down. I had a few friends coming to help me, so I asked him to wait for them to come. One of them is in the moving business himself, so I thought he could help me negotiate. Then George said he wouldn't talk to anyone but me since I was the customer. Well, I was the customer, so I can have him talk to my friend if I wanted to. It took my friends to get to my place about 10 min, in the meantime, George threatened to start charging me for the wait time. Well what about him being 3-6 hours late?? 5-10 min wait for my friends was nothing in comparison! The moment my friend walked into my apt, George started pointing at him yelling, who are you? I won't talk to you! Then he started claiming that my friend threatened him, which is completely not true. George is the one who started antagonizing and verbally abusing me and my friend. He was acting crazy, so I said just unloaded everything and my friends and I would move the stuff up. So I paid the $590, signed the paperwork. We finally went back to the truck and the other mover guy was unloading my stuff. Then George voted into it again about my George even though he wasn't doing anything. George said he was calling the police and told the the other mover guy to stop unloading. They wouldn't even let me touch my stuff even though I had already paid and signed! We waited for the police for a while, who never came. Even if they came, they would've been on my side. I guess George finally gave up and unloaded all my stuff. After a long wait, they finally left and my friends and I carried the stuff up to my apt.
