Long-distance move from Miami, FL to Jamaica Plain, MA

Excellent Movers.

I can't recommend Alliance Van Lines more than this. The team moved our very full two bedroom flat into storage and then back out again into our new flat quickly and without any problems or damage to any of the furniture. The men who came were great at keeping in contact before the move, to make sure we knew what time they were arriving and that we were ready for them. The next moment in a swift they moved our stuff out storage and into our new flat. The whole experience was very straight forward and the price was very reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend Alliance Van Lines to anyone.

Exceptionally Good Group.

Alliance Van Lines was an exceptionally good group to work with. They truly eased an already stressful spot. Their team was courteous and efficient. They were also concerned with protecting our firm such as floors and wall corners etc. They arrived when they said at our abode and also at our new location. It was really seamless. We wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone considering a move.

Long-distance move from Nashville, TN to Lexington, SC

Alliance is a scam.

Biggest mistake of my life having these people conning me into moving. It’s been four weeks I still don’t have my furniture they only took half of what they were supposed to and now they’re holding my furnace hostage for the full payment. They are a scam and the people they hire will scam you even worse. They use the line white glove treatment. They use the line oh it’s by weight only everything has been a lie from the very beginning.

Giving it a one star because I have to rate to leave a review.

First of all whatever you do DON'T sign with this company. First off, you don't get signed up with this company they sign you over to some other company. We originally called them for a quote and price, our sales rep was Blake - he was a really pushy sales rep trying to make a sale and sold us complete bull crap that our furniture would arrive 2-3 days from when it was picked up. The company that we got arranged with was called Ocean Movers they are also based out of Florida. We received a call on Sunday night from a women informing us that the movers would arrive between 9am-11am on Monday the movers didn't show until 6pm that night my husband and I waited all day with terrible communication saying they should be there within the next half hour and it ended up being like that the whole day. My husband and I were moving from Boston to Virginia. We had job interviews lined up the next day that we obviously had to rearrange. 6pm rolls around after constantly being told they should be there soon, they finally show after wasting my whole day of not knowing when they would show up. We get handed a contract that was completely different contract of what we were told on the phone with Blake the sales rep from this company. Like I said we were told 2-3 days our furniture would arrive. The contract from Ocean Movers indicates within a certain miles of where you live it will take that many days. Our distance came to over 500 miles which the contact stated could take up to 14 days!! Who in their right mind cannot have any of their belongings for 14 days? I asked one of the movers who seemed to be the one in charge since the 3 of the other gentleman didn't even know how to wrap up our furniture correctly. The moral of this story is my husband and I wouldn't have went through with this company if we knew it would take this long to get our furniture. I advise that the sales rep reads contracts to other company's so when he is giving information out that it is correct. Its been a week sleeping on an air mattress and it isn't fun. We got told our furniture should be here tomorrow and Im not going to sit around waiting all day ill have to see it to believe it.

Professional movers !!

I must say that people make it very hard to know which direction to take as everyone has a difference in opinion from time to time. I met them at my new place and they were in and out so fast I could hardly believe it. They took extra special care of my things and hung up all my clothes in these incredible wardrobe boxes and re-hung all my clothes in the new place. Night and day differences! Thanks again for another exceptional STRESS FREE MOVE!

Don't do it.

Don't Do it.

They are "so helpful", when booking and taking your non-refundable deposit (50%). But they never tell you that they are simply outsourcing the service to some fly by night small operator. You verbally tell them what date you need your property and they say, "sure", only to discover that the contract omits any such date. I waited two weeks for my goods to arrive. The packing was shoddy and transport was horrible. No communication. I had to call almost daily to finally get a delivery date and then they didn't show up. Horrible service, no customer care. The only answer you will ever get is "look at the contract", that is written with absolutely no customer protection.

I'll pay double somewhere else next time!!

I CANNOT EXPRESS THIS ENOUGH_ DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY, GO ELSEWHERE. I AM NOT A DISGRUNTLED CUSTOMER, I AM TRYING TO HELP SOMEONE JUST LIKE ME!

Very rude when handling disputes, I was hung up on upon a number of occasions by both Alliance Van Lines and the company they contract out to In Sync Movers. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! They will take the information you provide them with and then fail to reflect the information accurately in order to present you with a great competitive quote while shopping. They will constantly remind you to watch out for companies who are looking to just book the trip and gain the money when they are indeed that company. I had to file a FTC and BBB complaint against them, I will be contacting the media tomorrow and I have an appointment with my lawyer later this week. DO NOT TRUST A WORD OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS! It sucks that they have my stuff right now, so I cannot even imagine what kind of condition it will be delivered in. Additionally, while placing the order- the sales rep "Patrick Harris" literally stated to maybe make the movers some lemonade or bake them some cookies for them to help me- BUT THAT IS IN THE CONTRACT, how a professional could even suggest this is unheard of. Additionally, there is a breach in the contract, where I the mover was not notified of the change to the cost of shipping and my proxy who was send to oversee the shipping was unaware of what was being requested. I gave no consent to anyone to alter the contract, he believed he was signing for the itemized list. This contract swindled TWO VETERANS, mind you TWO DISABLED VETERANS!! I would not do work with this company if you can avoid it at all cost, I would. As far as their contracted moving company InSync movers, my issue was not with them, as the contract was with Alliance VanLines, however, their reaction and customer service to the situation was horrendous!! As I called to establish payment for the services they rendered, while inaccurate and failure to notify me of changes, services were indeed rendered and they deserve to be paid- they were extremely rude about the entire situation. Do not let them steal your money and above all, for them to treat disabled veterans in such a way is distasteful.

For a full break down of the exact scenario, along with dates and full names- feel free to look at the FTC website and BBB for the official complaint.

Long-distance move from Lithia Springs, GA to Hollywood, FL

Do not use them.

Called for a quote from GA to FL. Daniel S. was super rude after being told we wanted to look around for other quotes. Since it’s a job relocation they want the best bang for their buck. By the end of the conversation Daniel was yelling and cutting us off. He told us we needed them-they didn’t need us as well as they have military contracts and didn’t need our money. I wasn’t even a customer yet and he ruined any chances I had of using their company. This man even sarcastically offered Hawks/Falcon tickets just to get the sell. I get how quotes and conversions work and this is not it. I will never use this company and I will make sure to let everyone know never to use them either. I did call back after the call to speak with Daniels manager (Shawn Kelly) he heard my complaint and apologized. He said it sucks that we have to write a review and weren’t even a customer when they probably have bad reviews from people they actually serviced. Please don’t rent from this company who hires customer reps that have no regard for the customer.

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Phoenix, AZ

Terrible company.

Booked my move from Illinois to Arizona in May with Daniel Stevens - everything he told me was a lie! My estimate was $1600. Never told me he was just a broker, sold the job to Moving Depot - another miserable company! Late on pick up, kept referring to my belongings as "Shit", gave me bunch of paperwork to sign, never filled it out. After the truck was packed he told me I need to pay another $400 because I had too much "shit". They delivered two weeks later, then I had to pay another $300 for shuttle, because supposedly they were having my one bedroom apartment on an 18 wheeler truck that wouldn't fit into my neighborhood. What a BS! The delivery was made at 8:30 PM with one man dragging all my belongings to third-floor. He had to ask my neighbor to help him bring my bed up. Needless to say bunch of my stuff was broken and damaged and my beloved custom build bicycle is missing!! I'm pissed! I paid extra to have it on the damn truck!! Also missing is my 7 foot tall floor lamp and the rails for California king bed. They had me file a claim with movingclaims.net another bogus company!!
Needless to say stay away from these people! Bunch of liars and thieves!

Long-distance move from California to Washington DC

Horrific from Beginning to End.

To say that I am disappointed in my experience with Alliance Van Lines is a severe understatement. From the very beginning, this company and its affiliates have been an absolute nightmare to work with. I write this review with the hope that I can save someone else the aggravation and distress that this experience has caused me. Moving is stressful enough without being shafted by an incompetent agency.

Be forewarned, the company will lure you in with promises of major discounts. My agent “Tracy H” lured me in with a rate that seemed too good to be true (it was). Then, they will bait and switch you. Once you have signed the agreement, Alliance wipes their hands clean and will refuse to connect you back with the agent you worked with in the beginning. They transfer your contract to an obscure third party that has little to no information about your previous conversations. Do not bother calling customer service because they will tell you they no longer have any control over the process and that you need to speak with the dispatch that THEY coordinated.

The contract is filled with ambiguous clauses about additional fees that the movers completely exploit. Surprise, surprise be prepared to pay an additional $225 because the movers “had to walk more than 100 feet to your door.” When scheduling delivery, the company claims to provide 30 days of free storage for your items. Following this, you reach back out to schedule delivery to your residence. You are expected to provide them with an “earliest delivery date” that will vary up to 21 days from that date. Naturally, I provided an earlier time frame to accommodate for potential delays while I searched for housing.

Lo’ and behold, the company contacts me and states they will be delivering the items two days after my earliest indicated delivery date. I advised that the items were supposed to be delivered to storage and await delivery since I was still searching for housing and staying in a hotel. The response from Alliance is “there is nothing we can do” and “most shippers would be really happy with that turnaround.”
When I called Customer Service for clarification I was told that it was my problem and that I was “only unhappy because we are telling you what you don’t want to hear.” MAYBE I was unhappy because they did not adequately communicate information down the chain and do not responsibly share information with their dispatch and moving partners.

Needless to say, this company is a joke and I will absolutely never use their services again. I move almost annually for work and therefore utilize moving services often. Their disorganization and, most of all, their apathy and attitudes when I contacted them to resolve problems have lost them a customer for life.

I implore those considering Alliance Van Lines to look elsewhere.

Please do Not Use.

Alliance van lines is the biggest scam company. They will tell you all sort of lies to get your business. They are a broker company and outsource your move to some other really bad company (also scam). Devin Burke was the rep we spoke to and he just kept on making things up to get our business. He guaranteed us so many things and had an answer for every negative review we spoke . Unfortunately we fell for his niceness and got scammed. The cost on the day of the move went up by $1000, that is cause we were promised one thing by Devin that the actual movers were unaware of. Like mattress covers, tv boxing (Devin said they will do that for free), they did not. The movers on the day were like you need to sort that out with the broker company not us.

Overall we had a horrible, stressful experience and were lied to, cheated and scammed. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS THAT THIS COMPANY AND THEIR LIES WILL BRING. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE!

Nightmare from Hell Movers!!

What add started out very good with great customer service from Dylan has turned into a nightmare!! We still haven't received our furniture that was picked up in Arizona on Dec 15. 2019 to be delivered to Orlando, on Dec 23, 2019 and nobody has a estimate time on when it will be delivered!! We keep getting the run around & no one is returning our phone calls. Whenever I do get a person on the line, they say they have 10 days after the first available date, then 14, then 21 business days and now 31 business days after the first available date. STILL NO FURNITURE!!

We have been given all kinds of excuses; the holidays, it's a long drive but as of today Fri Praying that Jan 17th NO ONE has picked up our furniture in Arizona yet, it's not on the way!! What was suppose to be an ASAP move has turned into a No Movement At All !! Praying I get my furniture back.

Quotes one price, forces you to pay double on delivery.

They initially act helpful, concerned, and willing to assist you to make a big move from NY to Texas. Then they quote you a price, pack you up and on delivery make you pay DOUBLE what they quoted you and lose hardware for your furniture, making it useless until you spend more money to get new hardware. They are unapologetic, NOT helpful, hard to reach when you really need to handle issues, and they plainly LIE about their quotes. This company is problematic at best, and horrendous at worst and a huge split in reviews between 5 star and a ton of 1 stars with nothing inbetween further shows that they really have a LOT of issues. I would HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere unless you want to be forced to pay WAY more than what you were quoted when they came to pick up your stuff for a move.

Sad.

Notice they don't claim their name on Yelp? I swear they were on here when I booked. Must have had a bunch of fake reviews. Where are you now? They are a bunch of crooks and [EDIT] with zero values, ethics, foresight and follow-thru. They will ‘woo’ you in to ‘trust’ them and then dispose of you (and the ‘manager’, Aisha will hang up the phone on you the you try to confirm and ask logistic questions) to whomever is willing to take the move/trip and show up - who knows when - with your things damaged and missing whilst they try to extort more cash on the spot from you to even make the delivery happen with their less-then-professional on-site ‘staff’. My things – if they even arrived – were mostly damaged. In addition, they damaged the walls/doorjams/grass/everything they touched in process of ‘moving’ them in. Zero knowledge. Zero strength. Zero awareness. Zero customer service. Don’t buy-in unless you want to pay to not really have your stuff delivered; have it sort-of delivered broken; or have to be extorted and try to manage the ‘crew’ once onsite because they cannot organize and lift and move. OH, HEY, BTW! Where is my box of family heirlooms with my last name written all over the outside of the box?!??! Do you really need my dead grandfathers’ handcarved wooden bowls from New Zealand? Do you even know here that is? Did you steal it or just forget where it is with your sophisticated sticker system? And, if someone found the box at some point, did they just let it sit somewhere or did they STEAL it? Hope you enjoy the glassware and the carvings. Whoopsies. Fuckers. Get your shit together. Karma is all yours now.

Alliance Van Lines is a ripoff company.

Alliance Van Lines did nothing but rip us off! Don't use this company!! From our experience they don't move anything. They find a company to move your furniture. They found a company to move our furniture and their truck drivers looked strong, but lost and ruined too much of our stuff, they were very careless. Poor Services.

I am so disappointed on how all this movement went. Really bad communication with the movers so unprofessional and unprepared. I have no idea or clue on how you guys contract the moving company but I will expect at lease a vetting process with the company you guys hired.

No follow up on how the process is going. I am very dissatisfied with the movers. Very poor service, lack of courtesy. I thought I was hiring a professional movers company not even close. I hire Alliance Van Lines thinking they treat military and veterans with respect and care for us. But what I saw is far from the truth. Miss the delivery date no phone call took the date off from work. They arrived 2 days later with half of the household goods. with no explanation.

Long-distance move from Portland, OR to Mooresville, NC

Awful.

The worst moving company my husband and I have ever worked with. Not only did they not let us know about the 21 business day DOT regulations regarding delivery but they intentionally underestimated what the cost of moving would actually be even though we gave them all of the information for what was being moved. On the day the movers came to pick up our stuff we were told we would have to pay $2,000 more than quoted. If we didn’t do that, we would have been out the deposit paid to Alliance Van Lines, so we had no choice being so close to our move.

Our stuff was picked up on 6/7, we told them we were available for delivery on 6/16 and now it’s the 30th and NO ONE has any idea where our stuff is. We have called 14 times looking for an update on where all of our belongings are and they keep telling us they have 21 business days to get it to us (WHICH WAS NEVER BROADCASTED). I understand DOT regulations are in place, but you’d think the booking company would make this information known so people can plan accordingly. At this point we are under the assumption our items are lost in transit due to the fact the company is claiming they haven’t heard from their driver for 7 days and admitted they have no idea where our items are. Please keep in mind, when you hire this company they are going to hire another company to do the job, and that company is going to hire ANOTHER company to do the job. Our first inquiry with Alliance Van Lines was on the 19th and they referred us to talk to their subcontractors, instamovers. We have been going back and fourth with instamovers since then and they have not been able to verify or get in contact with the driver. As of today, instamovers gave us a number for a different company that supposedly handled the trucks, and that company informed us they have no record of our order. After speaking again with Alliance Van Lines, letting them know our concerns, they informed us there is nothing they can do and they didn’t see anything wrong with our stuff being untraceable because it’s still within the 21 business day window after our expected delivery date (WHICH NO ONE INFORMED US THIS WAS EVEN A THING!!) I would have never given the date of 6/16 when my items were picked up on 6/7 if I knew our items could take 21 BUSINESS DAY from 6/16 to arrive.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. Moving is stressful enough and now my husband and I are in a new city with no idea where are life belongings are or any clue when they will arrive. Please please PLEASE use any other company. Don’t be us.

Terrible! Bait and switch!

Bait and switch!! In my personal opinion this is the worst moving company I ever used!

My husband was a builder so we moved a lot in Florida and every mover we use was very professional and basically had the same procedures

They ask if you want a detailed itemized quote to get a more accurate pricing which I did. I have a detail of every room. I live in a 1900 square-foot home for packing and moving he quoted a complete move no matter how long it takes them no matter how many guys no matter how many boxes and how much tape is was 4500 total.

Another company came in and quoted 5000 and this company had done the walk-through I should have used them!

Alliance movers Gerard kept telling me he was a five star company we will take care of your fragile items. (NOT TRUE!) I had moved two years before into my three bedroom 1900 sq home and it was 1700.

Alliance movers only sent to young skinny kids to move and they showed up at 1:30 PM to start.

They had started packing the truck while they were still packing each room around 8 PM they had said the truck was full and it will cost more money to move the rest of the house they had not packed the master bedroom and master bath the entire kitchen and the first bathroom and garage as quoted!

I ask where they were taking their enterprise truck with my belongings on it they said to a hotel because they are from Fort Lauderdale what the heck is that even legal I did not want them leaving my guard gated community and taking my belongings to a hotel where they could be stolen or confiscated.

THEY HAD ENTERPRISE RENTAL TRUCK SHOW UP 930 then they STATED THEY WERE NOT MOVING MY ITEMS INTK THE HOUSE UNTIL I paid 4500! But my kitchen master and bath and garage or storage were not packed or moved in the truck As per the quote.

I called Julie ( the manager) who said would not deduct the money for the half of the home they had not packed or moved. She would not let me speak to an owner I asked many times to speak to regional manager or an owner. She kept referring to cubic feet of the truck and none of this was discussed in the three phone calls I had with Girard. He stated the garage was 450 and storage 250 and if I moved them myself I wouldn’t be charged for them. Julie said it was going to be another $1800 to go back and get the rest that they were charging per cubic foot and that I needed to refer to quote. That wound be $7400 for 3 bedroom move one mile!

Bait and switch! Buyer beware!

I own my own biz and asked her numerous times to speak w the owner she states there was no owner to speak too!

Terrible biz in my opinion!!

The worst moving company in fla.

So for a three bedroom home for packing they did not show up till 130 they worked until 9 PM that’s eight hours they did not start unloading the truck until 130 pm and they were done at 5 there. Total fee $7400 for a 3 bd 1900 sq they moved half demanded 4500!

When they move the items in the house it was atrocious they were NOT CAREFUL AND SCRATCH MY NEW WOODEN FLOORS left they DIDNT USE BLANKETs or cardboard. I kept telling them they ignored me and went to the truck to get more furniture I was so upset and mortified that my new floors are being scratched my furniture is being scratched and I have have so many pictures witness’s of everything being scratched.

Then While unpacking my beautiful vase with flowers in it and arrangement I was so expensive around $1000 they stuffed in a giant wardrobe box with dumbbells inside they also stuff my dumbbells on my satin Formal wear!

I have videos while unpacking this in shock!

PACKING TERRIBLE FRAGILE VASES PACKED WITH DUMBBELLS BROKEN OF COURSE. Irreplaceable.

Picture frames glass broken.

I have filed a dispute with Visa and I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau I hope this does not ever happen to another person.

- [ ] Please be advised that I am not angry over the fees I literally just wanted my home packed and moved and was willing to pay the 4500 or 5000 that another company had quoted. They kept saying referred to the cubic feet in your email “this was not explained by Girard” on 3 phone conversations and it doesn’t matter if it’s one medium size truck and every other moving company had moved me to the 3 bd for 1700 to 1800.

This company is a spam! After talking with Chriss and paying them for a moving service from NY to Miami, they sent another company for my stuff "A plus Van lines". They charged me extra 500 dollars. When I called back Chriss to complain, they said he wasn't there and when I explained the situation they answered: "Sorry, we are just the brokers!!" I asked them why they didn't tell me that at the beginning, and the woman answered: You never asked. I ended up receiving half of my stuff and paying extra!

Great during sales, not that great on delivery.

This company is a broker, it's hit or miss on who will end up carrying your stuff

Sales call: WHITE GLOVE SERVICE! YOUR STUFF GETS THERE ON TIME! NO HIDDEN FEES!

Actual experience:

- Move was delayed 22 days

- After you're locked in, you stop talking with the super cool, smooth salesperson that gives you all the assurance and just talk to an ops person that says "we have no update"

- Additional fees appeared during moving day!

- Alliance makes around 30% of the whole move, just brokering the transaction without providing any service. Avoid these guys :)

The actual company was that transported our stuff actually did a good job. Nothing was lost, and the only damaged thing was a table that got here with a hole in the middle (haven't submitted request for reimbursement yet).

Alliance Van Lines Reviews.

I am amazed that they received 5 stars on your web site. First of all, they are brokers, not a true moving company. I expected an Alliance truck to show up at my home. Instead it was two men in a rental truck (they did a good job loading the truck). However, they were late showing up at my home, and despite a box-by-box review of goods to be shipped by the Alliance customer service department, after loading, the drivers raised my price 400 dollars as they stated I was overweight I sent three emails and made several calls to try to reach the salesmen who sold us this package .. he never responded. I sent and email to the customer service person who reviewed the load, and she did not respond. I was told our goods would arrive in 3 to 7 days but they could not be specific. My wife was planning to drive with me in our car, a three day trip. I was concerned that we would miss the truck so she flew home to meet the truck. 7 days and a no show, we heard from customer service that it would be another 3 to 10 days. On the 11th day I sent and email .. finally on day 20 day the truck showed up. I asked the drivers to wear masks and they stated they would only take them off after a few minutes, so why wear them.
