Moving with AAA.

Do not use this company - Bill will answer the phone and tell you what you want to hear, take your money and never call you back. On moving day they cancelled an hour into the time slot - and it was a Friday to boot. We had hours to vacate the apt but having the mover back out ultimately cost another $1,200 for an additional month of rent (apt would not rent by the week) - I never dealt with such incompetency in my life! They contract out, so if they can't find a truck - you end of paying rent in 2 states like we had to and they could care less. Save your sanity and don't call them - there are reputable ones out there.

5 Star.

The five stars for this review are primarily for AAA Moving Group. I certainly appreciate the personal efforts he made to ensure that we were treated fairly and that we were satisfied with the results of the move. Also, I'd like to make a specific comment on one of the gentleman with the team who moved us. Despite being the oldest guy on the crew by a fair margin, Adam put the young guys to shame with how hard he worked and quickly he accomplished his tasks. He had the hardest job of everyone and never once stopped being pleasant, polite, and positive. Thanks Adam!!

Stay Away..it is a trap.

There is much more I wish I could write. Whatever you do, avoid AAA Moving Group. If you have questions, or want moving tips/lessons learned, let me know.

Go with a reputable, well known mover, or do it yourself.

Communication:
Before I signed with AAA, I had several conversations with a sales rep. The rep was friendly, quick to answer phone calls, respond to emails, and help with any questions or concerns. He said he would walk us through each stage of the moving process. As soon as I signed the contract, he disappeared. When I asked the company about it, they said he was on vacation. Later, they said he quit and was unavailable. I was told we would get our stuff 14 days after pick up. When day 14 came and went, I started calling AAA.

I called every number for AAA that I could, ranging from cell phones to office lines. I could not get any response. It is frustrating, and stressful to have all of your belongings unaccounted for, with no means to find it.

Eventually I got through, but only got 10 second conversations entailing “We will look into it”, when I would ask questions. I worked hard to get any response from AAA. They did not care about my situation. It sounds shallow, but it is stressful not knowing if your belongings are gone, and facing being scammed, losing money, and belongings.

We finally got all our stuff, after over a month. No one ever called to see if the pick up process went well. No one ever called after everything was dropped off to make sure we got it. AAA only cared about getting paid.

Movers:
AAA claimed they had good relationships with quality (4 and 5 star) carriers all over the country, and could get a better deal than if a family or an individual were to hire the same carrier due to trusting relationships and continued business between AAA Moving Group and local carriers.

AAA’s actual carriers were slightly suspicious, and not too professional. The employees themselves were nice enough, but I would not consider the carrier to be a 4 or 5 star carrier. In fact, their reviews gave them 2 stars on their actual website. They consistently showed up later than they said they would as well. I wrapped my bed in protective plastic material for the move, yet they claimed it was not good enough and charged extra for their own wrapping.

When we finally received our belongings (after 3 full weeks of little communication), a couple of guys who spoke no English showed up late at night in a rented truck with no DOT or MC numbers towing a small uhaul trailer. They ended up being decent guys, but this seemed really shady at best.

Most of our belongings were intact, but there were a few things broken. In AAA’s contract, they give you maybe 60 cents per pound of insurance. It sounds okay, but it really does not give much. The claim filing process is really difficult and time consuming, and the compensation for damaged items usually ends up not being worth it.

Cost

AAA’s quote was way off. I was originally quoted for 2.7k, with high confidence that our actual price would be lower. AAA deceived us on price. It all sounded great when we did the move, and seemed foolproof to us. By the time everything was said and done, I paid over twice that amount. For reference, I was moving out of a one bedroom apartment with my wife. Each of us were a couple years out of school.

Hearing 2.7k (which was slightly more than quotes for renting a truck ourselves), for a full service move seemed amazing. I was recovering from some sports injuries, so not having to do all of the lifting sounded great. Not needing to drive a rental truck through snowy mountains in the winter sounded amazing.

Being that the move ended up costing way more, and AAA was disappointing at best, I would have done the loading and truck driving myself, or hired a professional moving company that would have likely been less money at the end of the day.

5 Star.

Everyone provided first class professional service. Everything in the bedroom was moved and a treadmill although I wasn’t able to get the gym set moved due to the weight. I would recommend them to anyone looking for movers. Excellent service, from the initial phone call throughout the move. Efficient, professional movers and transparent pricing. Well worth the cost. Much different experience than other movers I've worked with. Thanks a lot.

Great Customer Services.

It was my first time hiring moving company and I LOVED IT! Their customer service was good. Our stuff arrived safely on time. We had some heavy furniture, but employers never complained. Also, they moved our stuffs to the place we wanted to have. When they deliver our stuff, semi-truck was not be able to come around our house since road was narrow, so they even moved our stuff from Semi to smaller truck and delivered to us. They tagged number for every boxes and furniture we have and when they arrived our new house they checked if we got everything we sent. Moving from state to state would be much harder without AAA Moving Group. I appreciate with their service.

5 Star.

The team was great. They were diligent in their work, and helped us to complete our move in a short time frame. They were careful and delicate with our things that could easily be damaged. I am so pleased to find our belongings without extra markups and scratches. Would recommend their services. The movers themselves were great, they worked diligently to get the tasks done quickly. The truck driver although friendly had some mechanical problems with the truck which caused it to leak oil on both driveways even though we put cardboard boxes and other materials on the cement to try and stop it. He was apologetic for it, though. Highly recommended.

Disgusting Service. Total Rip Off - Stay Away.

If I could review without star, that's how I would rate them. STAY AWAY from this company. Ashley called me several times and every single thing she says is just for you to sign up with them and she is done. No more contact after the first payment. I spoke to a couple of movers and based on my dates, this was the only one available.I went with them and negotiated a price within my budget to move my furniture and everything from a typical 1 bed apartment.I listed out all my things and she said that doesn't need more than 2000 pounds in the truck. No mention of cubic sq ft or how it works at all. I clearly told her that I had a lot of stuff and nearly 30 boxes - she said (I quote) "YOU COULD FIT AN ELEPHANT IN THERE WITH 2000 POUNDS". Also, you will not understand anything she says as she talks so fast intentionally just so that you don't understand. After painful conversations and getting a quote (not having an option), I confirmed and she sent me an email that went to SPAM folder. She processed payment and told me they will be there on data asked and I had insurance that covers upto 10000$ worth. I offered to purchase additional insurance and she advised, pushed not to. So, I went ahead thinking there is insurance worth 10,000 in there and remember no WRITTEN NOTHING in email or mail. I confirmed after telling her that I have tickets for me, my friend and my pup in cargo for the next day(monday) and waiting is not an option. She said they will be there on Sunday as discussed and assured everything.
Next steps: Someone is supposed to call you and confirm pick up a day before (saturday). No calls. They were supposed to pick it up on Sunday, so I start calling them every 30 minutes on Saturday starting 10 am. Noone calls back until 8.30 pm to tell me that they always get a 2 day window and for them it is Monday as it is the second day. This lady who called me was yelling at me and hung up. I called her back several times and she didn't answer! I had to cancel my flight, my pup cargo shipment and my friends ticket - losing all that money. I waited whole day Sunday and nobody showed up or called me. Monday I get a call saying the movers will be there at 11 am. Waited for whole day and nobody showed up until 9.40 pm at night.

This driver was walking inside my house like he was assessing my things to figure out how to rip me off more and constantly told me that I had 286 cubic ft and it will only fit half of my things. I called these ladies and they kept telling me to listen to what he says. WTF. At this point I just wanted all my stuff and get gone. He charged me extra 500$ to take an area rug and a large dresser. After all this [EDIT], he asks me shamelessly to tip him and the other guys. When I ignored what he said, he said better tip if you want your stuff in good condition or guarantee that it will arrive." I ended up just paying as I just wanted my things taken care of. I did tell them to be very careful with the TV as my TV was worth 1000$+ for a 65 inch P series VIZIO smart tv. The only thing they packed was TV and they said they will. Packaging looked good to me.
SILENCE 5 days. I calld and this lady told me not to call as they have 14 days to delvr.I stil cald and on 13 day, she told me its on way and driver will cal a day bfr arrivl. He cald me 5 hrs bfr arrival, told me he wil arrive at 12 on 14 day. He arrived at 6.45 pm! Also, calls me and tells me that they will need 300$ from me as they cannot come inside apt gate with their truck. I had to convince them to try and got in easy. This is a RIPOFF and Do NOT fall for it! They will ask you to pay for anything. They unloaded and last came the TV - by this time, my dresser drawer was broken, coffee table drawer was broken. They unwrapped it and said "Why would they do that?" and looked at each other and said everything is here, pls call claims and ran as if they were afraid of something. I had already paid and tipped.
I know that they broke my TV intentionally.

Trying to silence me.

This company is not only unethical, but they well infringe on your firs amendment right of free speech! They caused me nothing but headaches and massive amount of money. Sure, they finaly refunded me after threatening them with the BBB, Florida Attorney General, the national complain board, and the Department of Transportation. They then tried to get me to remove my original review by saying they would only release my refund if I removed my review. So I did so I could atleast get a SMALL FRACTION of what it actually cost me due to their incompetence. Also, I have done a lot of research on this company and found out some shocking things. You can tell they put fake reviews up since they have reviews for people moving to Alaska, but if you call the company right now and ask if they move people to Alaska or ever have they will say no. This company is truly run by crooks.

This company is simply awesome.

This company is simply awesome. Everyone was professional, friendly, and the pricing was clear from the beginning they were no surprises. Honestly, they made the move hassle free. We were moving a 2-bedroom apartment on the third floor to a new house. The guys had no complaints and we're upbeat throughout the process. They were also careful and conscious about where they were placing items at the new house. My wife and I were so happy about their service and we highly recommend them!
