Frm Cleveland TN to their storage for 3 months & back to Cleveland

I should have read reviews!! Broken rocker, missing items. Charged me another $700 CASH ONLY when started loading. Most of my newly purchased boxes came back damaged. Definitely would not recommend that you use them. Person they told me was my contact quit answering my calls. If not using their storage just pick up and deliver only maybe would work but I definitely don't recommend them.

Relocation

These people are terrible. Started in TX for a move to relocate my mom of 85. A discount was given for age and she has been a 1st Responder nurse all her life in ICU. The price was increased by 1100. + 600.=1700. B4 the furniture even arrived. Was late by a week then Nick wanted the waiting time pd since he was there b4 our intended 1 pm meet time, they asked for the time when given the price increased since the driver was in town. That's on the driver not my mother. Poor customer service is best. Price isn't real, as they keep adding on.

No complaints at all

Got an estimate from 3 brothers and decided to go with it. The crew showed up with equipment and get work done attitude. Needless to say it went with any hiccups. Delivery was a breeze. They unloaded in about 2 hours and had my house all set up to use. Everything was assembled and put where it belonged. I definitely don't plan on doing this again anytime soon but if I do, I'll be sure to give 3 brothers a call again.

Long-distance move from Queens Village, NY to Las Vegas, NV

Bait and Switch & Illegal Practices

They are BROKERS and not the actual Moving company. We hired 3 Brothers Moving & Storage to transport TWO shipments; BOTH had different moving companies and they both did the same SCAM.

1) For the New York to Vegas move, we were charged for 700 cf. The actual was 300cf which we thought was the amount we had but they assured us it was 750 cf. but they gave us a “deal of 700” adding $2000 to our order. Upon unpacking in Las Vegas by the truck's packing lines in the van, it was clear we were exactly at 300 cf.

2) The same issue would have occurred from Vegas to New York, but there was no disputing the size. We were shipping exact-sized bins, which equaled exactly 236.36 cf. They insisted it was much larger than 300 cf and noted that the price we paid, even if it was 300 cf, was too low, and they wouldn’t take it.

We could not get in touch with 3 Brothers to remedy while the drivers were onsite. After providing all the evidence they did not admit any wrongdoing and would not provide a refund WITHOUT posting anything negative about our experience and not even a full refund.

Legal Claims:

1. Breach of Contract: 3 Brothers breached the contract by failing to perform the agreed-upon transport services without lawful justification.

2. Fraudulent Misrepresentation/Bait and Switch: The demand for additional payment based on a false assertion of exceeding the agreed-upon cubic footage constitutes a fraudulent misrepresentation and a "bait and switch" tactic.

3. Overcharging: Overcharging is considered an unfair or deceptive trade practice and is regulated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)

4. Violation of Consumer Review Fairness Act: Any attempt to condition a refund or settlement on a non-disclosure agreement or restriction of our right to provide honest reviews is a violation of the Consumer Review Fairness Act.

Undisputable Evidence:

1. Photographs: An image of the bins clearly demonstrates that the shipment does not exceed 300 cubic feet, and photographs of the NY->Vegas shipment in the van with the cf markers clearly showing that ONLY 300 cf was used.

2. Communication Records: Screenshots of calls and text messages documenting our attempts to contact "3 Brothers."

3. Comparative Shipping Rates: Documentation of our FedEx shipping for the same shipment. Note: invoices are available 30 days after shipment.

4. Video Evidence: Video footage from our Nest camera system capturing the entire interaction, including the driver's statements, the supervisor's instructions, and our communication attempts. Also video footage of NY-Vegas uploading of all the equipment.

5. Email Evidence: Customer support from 3 Brothers requesting that if we get a refund that we are not supposed to post anything bad about our experience.

Long-distance move from Cedar Hill, MO to Meridian, ID

BEWARE - it will be cheaper to use a van lines!!

WARNING, WARNING!! If I could give them less than 1 star I would! They totally ripped me off, quoting this amazing price for my cross country move. However, the price means nothing because they underestimate the space needed, and you end up paying thousands more when the truck arrives to pick up. Oh and the 2-6pm pickup time ended up being 9pm!!

I literally gave [NAME EDIT] all of my furniture items as well as the dimensions of my 27 gallon storage bins (60), which were quoted as medium. Before I moved, I got rid of large sofa, queen bed, tables and more from the original list. Truck came, and said right away the bins were large and would take up almost the entire truck space. They wouldn't put my items on truck unless I paid additional $3k cash/venmo only. As I was driving away the next morning, I had no choice but to pay. Oh, and they won't accept a credit card, during pickup or delivery, no matter what they tell you, they just want you to use the cc as a backup payment method on Venmo. Hence, considered cash so no payment protection from the cc company.

Don't let [NAME EDIT] tell you I'm just a competitor trying to make them look bad - I fell for it!! I was a real customer, have all the moving paperwork to prove it. Bottom line, it would have been cheaper to use a full service moving company instead of what I paid 3 brothers and then the trucking company Cita Van Lines. Maybe my items wouldn't have arrived a week late, with so many large pieces broken, if I had done so,

Don't fall for their lies, their quoted price means NOTHING, even when they write "price not to exceed quoted amount unless extra furniture is added" on the quote itself. I got rid of things, added nothing!

In response, you are correct, I was nervous about hiring you since I had been ripped off before by a different broker, but that doesn't change the fact that you screwed me this time around. There's no getting around your underestimate of space, and consequenty a much lower price to get me in the door, when you had a complete inventory list which included the dimensions of the 60 storage bins, and that I had pre-sold 2 huge items that were on the original list that should have caused less space/cost!

It doesn't change the fact that my items were held hostage unless I paid the additional $2800 to have get them picked up and on the truck (at 9pm the night before I moved away) and delivered. Nor does it change the fact that I was given a delivery date, which was not met for over a week, and found out that your delivery date is just an estimate - my items would be delivered on that date or up to 21 days longer. It doesn't change the fact that I had to go out and buy dishes, silverware, shoes, work clothes, etc because my items didn't show until 8 days after the said delivery date.

These are important facts that consumers need to be aware of. So you can try to throw this on me as I was nervous about hiring you, but in the end, I had every reason to be. Even though your estimate price was less, in the end I could have hired a reputable moving company, Van Lines, for less than what I paid you, and my items would have been delivered as scheduled. Buyer BEWARE.

Official company response

I have reviewed all the information that has been provided as well as the notes from each representative with whom you have interacted. As it appears from the beginning of the booking process, you may have allowed previous moving experiences to influence the way you handled your relocation with 3 brothers Moving & Storage. It is my sincere apologies that you had previously had negative experiences with moving companies. A variety of forms of paperwork have been provided to you and you have reviewed all acceptable methods of payment for each phase. Within a month of signing the contract and making the initial down payment, you threatened to file a lawsuit if you were unable to use a form of payment that was not listed as an acceptable method of payment. We explained during the booking process that you would receive a call from Quality Assurance 3-5 days before your move to go over the list of items to be moved one last time. Within a few days of booking, you inquired about completing the Quality Assurance call in order to add additional items to the inventory list in order to get an updated price. The number of items in your inventory increased from 83 to 105 during Quality Assurance. Estimates are based on the volume of the item list to be moved. We estimate the volume based on the information provided and the average size of the items. The driver may be required to assess the additional space they will require on the day of the move if there are additional items to be moved or if the items are larger than originally estimated. In addition, if there are any additional services available, such as packing supplies for fragile items such as glass. According to the notes from the day of the pickup, there were a few items that required more space due to their nature and to ensure their safe arrival. Stacking items on top of some types of furniture may not be possible due to their design. As I can see, the driver waived some packing and other fees in order to reduce the cost of the additional space needed. It is the final amount of space and services that determine the cost of the move. Essentially, this would be the same as receiving an estimate to replace your battery and then finding out that they also need to replace your alternator. In the event that additional services are required or the scope of work changes, a charge must be made. The final charge depends on the extent of the work performed. The items were picked up on 3/3 and a note in the file indicates they will be delivered the following weekend. According to the Department of Transportation, the delivery time for your move could be anywhere from 2 to 10 business days, depending on the travel conditions and the First Available Delivery Date provided at the time of pickup. As the services you provided were the same as those provided by any other company, I am not certain of what services other companies would have provided. It is important to note that the estimate you received from 3 Brothers Moving & Storage is a "Binding Not to Exceed" estimate. It is estimated based on information provided at the time of booking and if there is any additional volume, such as additional items or larger-sized items, or accessorial services, the final price will be adjusted.
CUSTOMER HAS ELECTED A "BINDING TO NOT EXCEED" PRICE, THE TOTAL COST WILL NOT EXCEED THE ESTIMATED AMOUNT; PROVIDED, HOWEVER THAT CUSTOMER PROVIDES 3 BROTHERS MOVING & STORAGE LLC WITH AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEMS TO BE MOVED AND THE SERVICES TO BE PERFORMED. CUSTOMER HAS REQUESTED TO HAVE AN ESTIMATE PROVIDED FOR HIS/HER HOUSEHOLD GOODS RELOCATION, IN ACCORDANCE WITH 49 CFR 371.113(C)(1), CUSTOMER AGREES TO WAIVE A PHYSICAL SURVEY OF THE HOUSEHOLD GOODS, AND ALTERNATIVELY AGREES TO RECEIVE A BINDING TO NOT EXCEED ESTIMATE BASED UPON THE SHIPPER PROVIDED ITEM LIST OF PROPERTY TO BE TRANSPORTED. IF ANY ADDITIONAL PIECES, PACKING SERVICES, WEIGHT OR LABOR SERVICES ARE ADDED AT THE ORIGIN OR DESTINATION TO THOSE QUOTED, THE CUSTOMER SHALL BE CHARGED FOR THESE SERVICES AT THE GOVERNING TARIFF RATES. CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDS THAT 3 BROTHERS MOVING & STORAGE LLC HAS A 2100 LBS MINIMUM ON ALL SHIPMENTS. ANY SHIPMENT BELOW 2100 LBS. WILL BE CHARGED AT THE 2100 LBS RATE. THE PRICE INCLUDES ALL FUEL SURCHARGES, TOLLS, LOAD AND UNLOAD, BASIC DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY OF STANDARD FURNITURE ITEMS, UP TO 75 FEET OF LONG CARRY AT ORIGIN AND DESTINATION AND 1 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS. ELABORATE FURNITURE ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE DISASSEMBLED AND/OR REASSEMBLED MAY REQUIRE 3RD PARTY SERVICING OR ADDITIONAL LABOR AND SHOULD BE DISCLOSED TO YOUR ESTIMATOR AND INCLUDED IN YOUR ESTIMATE. DISCONNECTING AND/OR RECONNECTING OF APPLIANCES IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. REASSEMBLY IS SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF TOOLS AND/OR ALL PARTIES BEING AVAILABLE. THE PACKING AND UNPACKING OF BOXES IS ONLY INCLUDED IN THE PRICE IF IT IS ITEMIZED IN THE PACKING AND UNPACKING SECTION OF YOUR ESTIMATE; ALL MATERIALS/LABOR FOR UNDISCLOSED ITEMS WILL BE EXTRA.

Save yourself the heartache

It's too late for me, hopefully you review your contact person and contract with this company carefully. I booked a $ 4,000.00 move and it did not go as promised when I booked the move. It took over thirty days, countless phone calls and heartache.

I used this moving company because I'm retired and too old to move heavy antique furniture. All my furniture was picked up and carefully packed. I was happy about that and expected my delivery in a few days. one month + a budget rent a truck shows up at my new home with one person to deliver my furniture. The truck was full so my mattress was strapped to the back of the truck. He EXPECTED my help to move everything. Allot of my furniture was damaged as he, alone attempted to empty the rental truck. Towards the end he became upset and stated " come on, I gotta go ". He showed up at 4 pm and now it is dark and starting to rain. Several pieces for antique furniture suffered damage.

Michael,
I apologize for the delivery taking longer than you had wished. There were many historical meteorological events during the time frame between pick-up and delivery all along the Pacific coast region. Unfortunately,, the bad weather caused roads to be closed and created a lot of logistical issues. They must be sure that they are able to travel safely to be able to deliver your items. Please reach out to Customer Service to receive information about how to file a claim for the items you stated were damaged in the transportation.

Deceptive & Misleading Sales Tactics

Highlights: RUN away from 3 Brother’s Moving & Storage brokering service at 3movingbrothers.com (US DOT: 3840883 MC: 1396743)! They WILL lie to you about what is included in their packing packages. They have MULTIPLE ways to charge you extra above their cheap estimate when the movers arrive. Do NOT believe a word that comes out of salesperson Peter White's mouth.

Lies to get you to pay a deposit: Peter gave a good quote for a 26-foot full truck with full pack/unpack. Peter said he would "be in your corner from start to finish”. He told me “when you get the truck and full pack there are no other hidden fees or charges. If you go over the single truck your total increases by $4.75 per cubic foot”. I confirmed all again with Peter in a call because I was surprised by the low price & unpacking! I told him this move is very sensitive because my dad is elderly & my brother (who I was arranging the move for) has a severe mental illness. He reassured me again. Next day, Peter texted me I really needed to get on the schedule, so he needed the deposit THAT DAY, Saturday. I have the texts from Peter saying “Again, to clarify your deposit is refundable if canceled & when you pair a full truck with a full pack, there are NO OTHER CHARGES. This is your final binding price”. Pushy for $=Red flag. Should have trusted my instincts, but instead, I told him my dad would never forgive me if things go awry. Peter texted “I am in your corner the rest of the process. Don’t stress we are legit…your total is all-inclusive.” So at this point, I had unknowingly been lied to about the unpacking of boxes, the refundable deposit, the $4.75 total price per cu.ft. of extra truck space, & 1/3 of the cost at each phase (deposit, pick up, delivery). I'm a busy working woman&PhD candidate, so I hastily signed the contract without reading it fully because I believed Peter White.

Pack/move: 3 Brothers contracted with Adams Relocations Services based in Prosper, Tx. Rafi the mover showed up with his crew & said that the estimate would be 50% more than the initial estimate from 3 Brothers! He said we had more stuff than was on the inventory & he could not fill his 26-foot truck to 1800 cu ft/12600 lbs as stated in my contract. Peter was not responsive to texts/emails. I called customer service & had the same experience as Laura K (another reviewer) with the infuriatingly condescending Sarah Norcia, the customer service manager. She kept telling me that I was going over one truck bc I had more stuff. I told Sarah that Peter had told me lies. She dismissed me by stating I signed a contract with all of this in it. Now I am reading the contract word for word & the lies Peter told over the phone become apparent. Peter finally responded 1 more time telling me needing a 2nd truck "was not a hard concept to grasp". Peter the suave sales guy turned into a belittling lying mansplainer. They were insulting me, but NOT addressing the fact Rafi was saying he was NOT going to fill the 26ft truck to the contract capacity & was charging for a 2nd. Each interaction with Sarah had my watch warning me about my stress level. I did all the negotiating holding Rafi accountable for the contract to get a more reasonable resolution @ 32% more than the estimate.

Delivery days: I received no help when the driver arrived & said he could not offload the truck because he's one person. WHAT?! I had to resolve the issues myself with Rafi after great stress to my ill dad and brother. No help from 3 Bros. EVERY box in the 2nd truck was crushed. I wish I could post pics to show how bad. Sarah's response--a link for an insurance claim.

I've asked for the recordings of my calls with Peter to document the lies he told & for a call from the owner. Neither has happened as of today.

Lest you fall for the same deceptive techniques I did, know the contract:

• 3 Brother’s is a brokering firm that has zero responsibility for anything except connecting you with a mover.

• They can charge 50-70% for a deposit and up to 70% at pick up.

• They can charge extra truck fees, fuel, and packing fees on top of the $4.75.

• The deposit is NOT refundable unless you cancel the move within 72 hours of signing the contract. (Untruth I have in writing).

• Platinum packing package will never include unpacking, despite what the salesperson might say.

• They will only wrap furniture with quilted moving blankets.

• If it is not-stackable in the truck, you can be charged extra for “bulky” items. More hidden fee potential

I've never written a negative review like this, 3 Bros is unethical & deceptive. I have more details/issues than Yelp space allows. I've contacted lawyers to see how to get the call recordings to show that Peter lied repeatedly, but lawyers charge $$$$. 3 Bros know how to deceive people & get away with it. This experience upped my cynical factor by 1000. I signed the contract with 3 Brothers, so I was made the fool. Run from 3 Brothers so they do not make a fool of you!

Official company response

I am sorry that you are upset about your experience with the carrier. Peter was correct and you were charged $4.75 per cubic foot. With that being said when the amount of cubic feet goes up the fuel surcharge will go up as well. This works the same as if you are at the grocery store and you add an item to your order and the amount of sales tax that you pay goes up. The amount of packing will also increase if there are additional packing services required. If there is any special handling fees (such as bulky items) this can be charged at the time of pickup if there are items that are heavy or larger than anticipated, such a tool box being large gangbox or any type of machinery being large and bulky needing special handling. So with your original estimated charges you were charged for 1800 cubic feet, which is the amount of cubic feet for the entire box truck, plus the fuel surcharge of 15%. So with that being said it your original base estimate, before packing charges, was 1800x$4.75= $8550 +15% or $1282.50, bringing the total to $9832.50. At the time of pickup there was additional 600 cubic feet. 600 cubic feet x $4.75=$2850, adding the 15% surcharge or $427.50. With the additional cubic footage there was the packing increased by $600, as it is based on the amount of cubic footage. So with that being said due to the increased space used in the additional truck, there was a cost of $3877.50. After reviewing the paperwork everything that transpired is inline with everything you are stating Peter told you. You were only charged for using 600 cubic feet in the second truck in additional to the original agreement for the full truck.

Awful service

We talked with Rep Anthony and he gave us a quote. Walked through house and he listed things. Said we’d need 2 trucks. Quoted us a price and lowballed the price. Said they’d deliver in 5 days. When one truck arrived they charged us double. Including charging us to pack things already listed on inventory. After 7 days still waiting for our things to arrive. Have called daily without any answer or call backs. They do not have 24/7 phone service. Poor service and awful customer service

$2800 QUOTE CHARGED $4800 BAIT & SWITCH THIEVERY ?

I have used professional movers 13 times inter and intra-state so I I'm a veteran mover customer. I was quoted $2,800 for 850sf one bedroom unit by Vince Sheridan, senior coordinator. I gave him specifics of my Mansion mirror and 85 in TV that would need special packing, otherwise I had 75 66qt boxes already packed with sofa, bed, 3 small furniture items. On moving day, OCEAN MOVERS showed up in an Enterprise lease truck apparently subcontractors of 3 Brothers???? The moving team were fine, but Ocean Movers' customer service staff were condescending and rude regarding to every concern I had. I was advised the charge was now $4800 from $2800 and they only accept cashier's check, Zelle or CASH. CONSIDERING I PROVIDED AN ACCURATE CUBIC FEET FOR THE QUOTE, THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED. AS A SINGLE, RETIRED FEMALE, THIS EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN THE WORST MOVE EVER DONE AND I HONESTLY FEEL RAPED BY THIS COMPANY! PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER THREE BROTHERS MOVING AND STORAGE. THEY WORK ON THE BAIT AND SWITCH METHOD!! My BOL # 1890416.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

I was given a great price for our move, and was told everything I wanted to hear. How I could call them with any questions anytime. I booked them 7 weeks before the move. As it got closer to the time of the move I started calling to go over inventory ETC. In one day I called four times to no Avail. I would get disconnected every time I finally got ahold of someone that I had never talked to before and he was very short and direct with me that everything was on schedule and I would hear from them later. I ask if they would for sure be there on March7 and was told they would call me the day before either March 7 or 8 We were selling our house and HAD to be moved out on March 7 because new owners were taking over March 8. And they could not guarantee that. That is when I decided to cancel there service, and the minute I text that to Christian he immediately called and text back and got pretty hateful with me for cancelling. Telling me how I wasted his time and I would not be getting a refund on my deposit.

I found it very interesting how I could not get a hold of him all day until I told him I was cancelling. And as of today I do not have a refund. I cancelled on 2/26/24. I have called customer service and get get an answer. I will keep trying and I will be reporting it to the BBB if I do not get a Refund and who ever else I can report to. I was also told that they were NOT a Broker and I found out later they were, another reason I cancelled. Believe me I did not want to go through finding another mover at last minute . But I did because I was not comfortable with them at all.

Be careful

If I could give zero stars I would. My mother in law hired this company to move her items from Missouri to Kansas. She made sure they knew they were moving her items to a military base. They acknowledged this fact. However, they then outsourced her move to a company that my bank flagged as fraud with three undocumented workers who could not get onto a military base. It resulted in dhs, ice, osi, and military police being involved. They arrived at the base a little after 9pm and at 1:30am we were forced to find people with pickup trucks, follow the movers to an empty dark parking lot, pay them $400 in CASH (because my bank flagged them as fraud) and unload furniture and boxes into pickups to drive them to our home and move it all into our house. Customer service WAS NOT available 24/7 as they claimed and we could get anyone on the phone until 10 am the following day. At that point we were basically told we were out of luck and it happens. It shouldn’t happen. This was a move for an elderly woman. Her whole life was on this truck and she hired a reputable company (questionable) who just handed her move to the lowest bidder. Would not recommend this company as they won’t be the ones doing the moving.

These people are scam artists. Don’t fall for any of their high-pressure tactics, disrespect, or threats. This is a “cliff note” version of my mom’s recent move from TX to AZ.

August 19, 2024

I called various companies to obtain relocation quotes. Once, I was on the phone with Michael Hampton & Anthony of 3 Brothers Moving & Storage. He said he would work with me since my Mom was a senior (85 years old) and retired from being a First Responder. His quote was $1776 for a 320 sq ft apartment. He rushed me through the online signing of documents but reassured me the move would only take 2 to 3 days from Texas to Arizona. After signing the online forms, their returned email Bill of Lading had two different dates for the move. I tried for weeks to get the move date pinned down and verified. No one would answer the main phone number at 3 Brothers Moving & Storage, so I would always have to press 2 for sales. Neither Michael Hampton nor Anthony would return my call or answer their cell phones.

September 29, 2024

Moving day arrived on 9/29. A gentleman by the name of Joel Reyna arrived with a worker to pack my Mom’s furniture into a small U-Haul truck. He had a NEW Interstate Bill of Lading from Adams Relocation Services Inc. He informed me that the move does not go by the square feet of the apartment, but by cubic square feet of the load, and that my mom’s move would cost an additional $1100. We had no choice but to come up with the additional money since it was the end of the month and the end of my mom’s lease. He also informed us that the move would take 7 to 10 business days with an additional $600 origin/destination fee.

October 6, 2024

I received texts from Joel Reyna and Nick M., the Carrier/Driver for Baltic Van Line Corporation stating the truck would be arriving with my mom’s possessions late on Sunday evening, October 7th. They both wanted to coordinate a delivery time, so I let them know we would be available to receive items Monday afternoon at 1pm. The Carrier/Driver, Nick, for Baltic Van Line Corporation was pissed that we would not be available at 9am and charged an additional $450, stating a destination wait time of $150/hr and even texted a threat to me stating he would place my mom’s possessions in storage if no one was there to receive items at 1pm.

I have called both 3 Brothers Moving & Storage and Adams Relocation Services Inc. and emailed Baltic Van Line Corporation to obtain Anthony’s and Nick’s full names. Not one facility will disclose this information or return my calls and/or emails.

Run Away Fast!

Just awful and a scam. This is not a moving company — it is a broker who will create a contract with you, then pass it off to another company you never heard of (United Speed Movers). The other company uses a completely different calculation for the contract you must sign with them ($1,100 more based on cubic feet rather than items in a 10x10 storage unit). The other company will arrive nearly a week after the originally promised date, saying your $3,900 move was a “small job” so they had to rearrange deliveries. “Victor” the 3 Brothers salesman will then not take your call. Literally - he hangs up. Customer Service will know nothing, AND the movers will break your desk. RUN AWAY!! Just don’t!!

BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

I wised up just in time to not go through with the move. It was in the moving documents that I could request a refund of the deposit if I notified them within a certain time period, which I did. They sent me emails saying the refund was in the mail. It never arrived. I went through the Better Business Bureau and this company still claimed that were going to put the refund check in the mail. It is November of 2024 (I gave the company the deposit in June of 2024) and they never sent the refund check.

The BBB eventually had to close out the case as unresolved.

Luckily for me I did not go through with the entire move.

Whatever you do, do not use this company.

I've been waiting over a year for a refund from 3 Brothers Moving & Storage. My girlfriend paid them with an e-check, which was a huge mistake. They keep lying to me, saying the check is in the mail or going out. It's been since last September, and they even lied to the BBB, saying they made the refund multiple times. If you schedule a move with them, don't make the same mistake my girlfriend did. Pay with a credit card so you can charge it back and they can't scam you out of your money!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I was initially quoted $2000+ for my move, I specifically gave the representative an inventory of my items. They did not ask for size or measurement. I am not sure of exact cost because amazingly I can no longer access my contract via the link they gave me, I called 3 Brothers and they said they would send it to me...I have not received it. I called a couple of weeks later to add a tall dresser, a BBQ and some boxes. They charged me an additional $500 and asked for a $300 deposit. Michael assured me that the 24 foot truck would have plenty of room. Come the day of move, the sub contracted movers said my items were "bulky," needed special packing, and additional cubic feet were needed. This was after I specifically told the representative at 3 Brothers what I was moving. Dressers, a bed, TV...

all things that are obviously bulky. 3 Brothers under quoted and took no responsibility. If I did not pay the movers, they would leave and I would not receive my deposit in total of $800 back. I wound up paying the movers, they did not take one of the items I paid extra for, the BBQ, and 3 Brothers would not refund me. I called 3 Brothers and was quickly switched to accounting...spoke to the nastiest representative who sounded like a robot who just said everything was stated on the contract. 3 Brothers sales representatives are NOT well versed in their contract, and fail to inform you what you are getting into. Michael, my contact, who told me to call him if anything...just blew smoke at me everytime I called. I wrote an email to 3 Brothers, and they failed to respond. Everytime you try to contact them they just babble about the contract, not that their sales people sell you a product that isn't what it seems. A move from Pennsylvania to New York should NOT cost $3,000. When I initially called I was told the $2,000+ included loading, unloading, dissasembling, assembling, moving into the space, gas and tolls. That was a lie. Most of what they told me was a lie. I am 100% sure they will respond to this and reiterate what is in their disgusting contract. What they will fail to do is admit that their employees fall short in being upfront with their customers and that they are a shady underhanded company.

Three Brothers is NOT BBB accredited! Terrible experience. It’s hook and bait! They make you believe they are giving you a deal and as soon as you pay a deposit, there is NO longer any customer service, even though Vince gives you his personal number, you’ll never reach him! This whole company sucks! I’m a senior citizen and don’t have extra money to waste. My original estimate went up 150% after I paid the deposit. This is a scamming company…I would NEVER recommend or use them again. And the man that delivered my boxes and furniture, slid all the boxes and totes down the ramp, each hitting the concrete ground, some busting! What a joke! Don’t be misled, hire a good mover!

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE... a one star rating is too high!

This moving company is a joke! Their business model is to quote low with the small print stating they can charge more once they show up. We gave them a very detailed list of our items, but one the movers arrived their costs went up an additional 45 percent. This is their model, this is how they work. Then, they sub the work out to local movers who didn't even show up or call the day we were scheduled. The additional charge has to then be paid in CASH! I can't say loud enough to stay away from this company scam!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY (BROKER)!

If you see a review above one star, it is most likely a lie. This so-called moving company is a broker and they are dishonest! They took an $800 deposit from me in December and on the same day, I canceled my order when I found out they were a broker and not a moving company. The liars at the company have been telling me for 6 months that they will refund me my $800 and they have not!!! Never use a broker, find someone local where you live!!! LIARS!!!

Pick a different company that isn’t a broker

It’s not that things don’t go wrong with moves. Like any company the real measure of movers is whether they take responsibility and work to make things right. Unfortunately 3 Brothers completely failed to even try and make things right in my case. Note the arbitration they force you to use is only interested in compelling 3 Brothers to meet their legal obligations. What does it tell you when a third party is required to get a company to fulfill their legal obligations. Nobody is on your side as the customer.

Never do business with a mover who doesn’t send a professional to your house to make a dependable estimate of the volume and therefore cost of the move. In my case 3 Brothers did this over then phone and assured me that for the long distance move I needed I was “buying the entire tractor trailer and there was plenty of space” that turned out to be a blatant lie but I only found out far to late to get someone else.

Garbage

If you are looking for an ethical, transparent, reliable company with a commitment to its customers, 3 Brothers Moving & Storage is not it. I have never had such a negative experience as a consumer in my entire life.

It all started with a price estimate that apparently was “wrong and bellow its real value,” or at least that’s what they told us ON THE DAY they came to pick up our things, when we had no choice but to agree to pay DOUBLE the agreed amount because we had to move out of our previous apartment.

By the way, this happened after they were two days late from the scheduled pickup.

When the movers arrived, they informed us that the company we hired, 3 Brothers MOVING & Storage, wasn’t actually a moving company but a broker. Funny, right? They didn’t even own trucks, and the amount of space we needed was much larger than what was listed in our contract. According to the contract, we had apparently waived a space verification visit and any materials, such as blankets or pads to wrap the TV, sofa, table, etc. Surprise!

Just to clarify, at no point were we asked if we wanted a verification to ensure the price was correct. In fact, I didn’t even know that service existed. The only thing discussed in terms of materials was whether they would provide boxes for packing our items. That in fact was a question I asked, so if I hadn’t brought it up, they might not have mentioned it at all.

They deceived us and took advantage of our desperation, knowing we had no choice in this situation, but to accept their terms since we needed to leave the apartment that day. And so they pressured us to pay more and more money in the dirtiest way possible, through a third-party intermediary that was "just trying to help."

And if you go to this part thinking this was bad, wait—it gets even better:

As if all the money they extorted from us wasn't enough, they couldn’t even fulfill the basic agreement of picking up and dropping off our things on the agreed-upon dates.

I understand that truck trips can be unpredictable and take time, but first of all, that doesn’t apply to the pickup. When you schedule it, the crew must be there. Secondly, a reputable company should give you a delivery window with at most a one or two-day delay. They left us waiting for A WEEK. A week during which we had to sleep on an air mattress because the company has no commitment or transparency with its customers.

And the worst part? We had no one to complain to because their phone system works great for attracting new clients, believe me! They will call you nonstop to get you to close with them, but the customer service department? Practically nonexistent. They couldn’t even put us in touch with the driver they hired, so we could find out when our things would arrive. They were also rude, telling me that the department I had called wasn’t customer service, and they basically hung up on me when I tried calling after the customer service line went straight to voicemail all day. If it weren’t for the AirTags on our bags, we wouldn’t even have known when our things would arrive.

Anyway, I hope I never have to move again after this horrible nightmare, and I decided to write all this so that it doesn’t happen to other people and that the world knows what type of company this is. Garbage.

Run Run Run Scammer and Con Artist

IF I could give zero I would, They are scammers and I'm in the process of filing a lawsuit and have filed with the Attorney General of Florida if you have been scammed by them file with Attorney General. They bait and switch you, then cancel your move when you don't agree to the new charge and long and behold keep your deposit and ghost you! We hired them to move us to Hawaii from Florida and they seemed great at first, price was great, and Alex communicated great with us for three months. A week before the move Bruce came into the picture, we updated our inventory list and even paid more for additional cubic feet. We are prior military, so we know how cubic feet works. The day of our move the movers show up and within 5 minutes tell me that on top of my $18,000 quote I will have to pay an additional $13,000 for my stuff to leave the port and an additional $10,000 to deliver to my home in Hawaii. My Bill of Lading said Door to Door Service. I was shocked and immediately called 3 Brothers who acted surprised. They called me back and said it was their mistake they didn't take into account Port Fees and told us they understood our frustration. We told we are not paying an additional $23,500 to move. Also keep in mind they did this two days before we were to fly out, our lease was up, and we had to move. They put us on hold and came back and said the best thing to do was cancel our move and they would refund our $6500 deposit. Well, no shock they have now said they will not refund us since we cancelled. Well, I mean you tried holding a pew pew to my head to get me to pay an additional $23,500 and I didn't agree to it so you cancelled it, not me! They will not respond to email at all and keep referring back to the contract saying if you cancel, they can keep it, they breached the contract when they tried to raise the price 110% above the quote and did a bait and switch. I will not be going away and now it's my mission to help not just myself but others who have been taken advantage of by them. They also have other companies with different names that they use to do this. We are currently in talks with our attorney about a class action suit. We have been able to reach multiple other clients who used them through yelp, and Facebook. Also file complaints with the DOT and BBB. Don't give up home, that you will get compensated. This was just recently settled by the Attorney General of Florida against other moving companies doing the same thing!

Long-distance move from Grove, OK to Wichita, KS

STOLEN AND BROKEN ITEMS—Big scam! 0 star if I could

Our move was from Oklahoma to Kansas-they showed up with1- 24 footboxtruck and 2 people. We told Anthony numerous times it took a 52 foot trailer to move us from Colorado to Oklahoma. Tim’s first comment when he arrived was — I need more help and another truck—are we supposed to pack everything too? We had to give them $2600.00 more so Tim could get another truck and 3 extra helpers. After they got everything loaded we had to give them a cashiers check for $7700.00. We were dealing with Anthony to begin with and then Bruce right before the move. We too tried to cancel when the sale of our home fell thru—they told us we couldn’t get our deposit back but they would honor the bid for 2 years. We did not know this was a broker we were dealing with. After arriving in Wichita, we had to go get another cashiers check for $7700.00 before they would open the trucks! We had to get cashiers checks before they would do anything. The guys that came had no clue how to pack anything. We have several items broken-they were just in a box- no wrapping at all. There was not one piece of bubble wrap on anything! We are also missing a Kuerig coffee pot, set of towels (4 bath,4 hand towels, and 4 washcloths), and a furniture dolly they ask to “borrow” because they did not have one! What moving company comes with no furniture dolly? We had all garment boxes with no bar to hang clothes on- everything was just dumped in the box-hangers and all. Big mess! We were charged another $11,000 and it had to be a cashiers check. Our 3 hour move cost us $21,000. We were definitely over a barrel- had to be out of our house and needed a mover. WORST COMPANY EVER! No wonder they change their name all the time. We too are considering legal action!

Never received deposit refund

Representatives for this company were so unprofessional that I canceled my move less than 24 hours after my elderly mother gave them a deposit. We never received the refund despite BBB complaints, certified mail, etc. Next step was leaving public reviews (and done) and then contacting FL and TX attorneys general. Just find a different moving brokerage.
