Scammers

SCAMMERS - don't get sucked in!

I read the reviews and thought I understood the tradeoffs. Yes, they're a broker, which means I was taking a risk the company they contracted with wasn't great, but US Standard was on the hook for the move at the end of the day, right? Wrong.

I went through an inventory of items with their sales person, then again on multiple calls ahead of the move with their support team, and was feeling cautiously optimistic heading into moving day.

The movers that arrived waited until they had packed everything into their truck before demanding $8k for our move- an additional $5k on top of our quote. They claimed we had 1500 cubic feet of items from a storage unit that could hold a max of 1200. That's not up to interpretation- it's math.

US Storage claims we cancelled our contract by sending these scammers away, and under no circumstances will refund our deposit- despite the fact that we now have to move the items ourselves.

If their rates are too good to be true, it's because they are. They will underquote you and you'll be left holding the bag to pay the exorbitantly higher price, or forfeit your deposit. Don't get sucked into using this unscrupulous broker!

Use Them Again

The team at U.S. Standard Moving were excellent throughout all stages of the moving process. On the day the team arrived ahead of schedule and being able to track the team’s movements online was a really useful tool. The move itself was incredibly straightforward with the team making efficient and careful work on both ends. I have no hesitation in recommending this company, and I will certainly use them again in the future. Thank you U.S. Standard Moving.

Fabulous Mover

I’m still a little bit in shock of how they did that but that was fantastic, all my things were in order. I didn’t have to run around and shout, they knew their job and did it quite well. I don’t think I would ever come back to doing things myself when the professionals can do it much faster and much better. So I advise everyone to try their service.

Horrible. Don’t bother.

Truly the worst customer experience I have ever had. First and foremost you should know that this is not a company, rather a broker. This is my first move cross country. The price was right and they would move things in and out. Awesome! I signed the contract and done. They told me I had 30 days of free storage. I needed to call to change the date of the pickup end my move a month out, to avoid the storage fee. When I did they said “don’t worry about it. There will be no extra fees so you don’t need to move the pickup date.” Sounded funny and didn’t think it was right so I called back a week later and they told me the same thing. I trusted them, but I regret it. Ok great. December 23rd pickup and February 26th drop off. Sounds perfect. Cut to a month later (Jan 29th) and I receive an invoice for storage fees. So I call the actual moving company (not these guys because HA they’re not the moving company) and they told me that because it’s been in storage more than a month, I’d have to pay the fee. Well I call my friends at US Standard moving and tell them the story. The customer service rep speaks and finishes her statement. Like there was a pause. And I begin talking and she throws out a “can you let me finish my sentence? I wasn’t done speaking.” She then proceeds to be incredibly snippy and rude and gives me a serious attitude. The company should be shut down immediately. Do yourself a huge favor and don’t book anything with them. They will not be helpful and their customer service is the absolute worst.

BEWARE!

US Standard Moving Storage standards are underground! They say they're mission is honest, loyal and ethical business practices, none of this is the truth! I specifically asked Marc Kaye on our initial call was he a broker or carrier moving company he vehemently said they were the carriers, that was the first lie. He came across efficient and professional, that's what he's good at lying! Because he's a good liar I never looked at the reviews which are as horrible! After the "72 hours" I learned they weren't the carriers and they no nothing about where or what the drivers are doing with your property, when I learned this information Marc Kaye refused to return my calls or texts, they tell you you have a 45 days storage free but they have no clue where this storage unit is located, no address or phone could be provided, I was told by customer service that I would have to wait until the day the driver of the truck showed up to get that information, ridiculous! Fast forward I learned to truth these people have no fleet of trucks, no drivers, they sit in a Wells Fargo building misleading consumers. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They aren't honest, they are not loyal, they don't operate in good faith and they don't care about customer service. They literally stole $1,200.00 dollars and they never moved one thing! BEWARE OF US STANDARD they don't have STANDARDS!

Poor Communication and Customer Service, Too Many Companies involved

I thought I was hiring Budget Van Lines but ended up dealing with US Standard Moving and Storage. Once my furniture was picked up by another company (RoadRunners) that was contracted out, they tried to charge me more money even though Mike Spencer, from US Standard and Moving, assured me my inventory was within the price quoted. No one seemed to be able to tell me when my furniture would arrive to the destination and they went so far as to tell me they didn't even have a driver for my furniture. We had to keep calling them for updates because no one ever called us to tell us anything. Several people had reached out to me before the move (Dennis Nowlen and Mike Spencer) but when I tried to call them back with questions and concerns, no one answered or returned my phone calls. Needless to say, I received my furniture after the date I was told. My recommendation - DO YOUR RESEARCH AND KNOW EXACTLY YOU ARE HIRING TO DO YOUR MOVE.

THEY ARE CON ARTISTS

If there was a way to type -0 for stars, I would do it. This is not a moving company. This is a brokerage firm. They hire kids to pretend to work for this moving company. The kid I dealt with (supposedly named Marc or maybe Shane, I think they change their names all the time) went over my move, gave me a very low quote and emailed me what appeared to be a real contract. I gave him my credit card & he took $1500. He texted and called me several times for 4 weeks to confirm the move. 3 days before the move he said he'd let me know a time when movers were arriving. But the day before, when I didn't hear anything, I called and texted him and got no response. Then I called the naming # and got no response. I left 2 voicemails and figured they were just busy. On the day of the move, nobody showed up. I kept calling and texting. Nothing back. They never showed. At this point my entire house was packed up. I was due in another state to start a new job in 3 days. Marc or Shane never called back, nor did anyone. I had to figure out how to get out of my house, rent a truck, cancel my airline ticket and of course call my credit card company since Marc had taken $1500 of my money. 24 hours later, I sat on hold for 45 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone. The woman who I talked with said she could not discuss my case, could not tell me why no movers showed up, and when I became angry and demanded a refund and an explanation, she told me to F*** OFF and hung up on me. Obviously I called an attorney, and reported them to the Better Business Bureau. My credit card company opened up a legal dispute against them as well. I will sue them if it means getting them shut down. Meanwhile I started reading reviews and was almost glad they never showed since I've heard that people never see their stuff again or when they finally get their stuff, it's severely damaged. Then today, a week later, guess what? Some random guy calls me and says he's heading to my house 'for the move.' I was like, "what? who is this?" he said he was an independent contractor who was going to be driving 6 hours to pick up my stuff. I told him I'd been scammed and he laughed and said it happens all the time and hung up on me too. WOW.

Fabulous Mover!

Very professional and friendly. Even though I was only moving within the same building, my furniture was well looked after, and great care was taken, especially with the delicate items. Jerry is a professional removal man and listened to all of my concerns. Moving on many levels can be extremely stressful. However, I needn't have worried as the move couldn't have gone more smoothly. A good service, I've used U.S. Standard Moving many times now for furniture moves, and I won't hesitate to use them again if the need arises.

Buyers Beware.

The estimate that they gave me was 1/3 of the actual cost when the movers came even though I gave the agent measurements of the items to be moved. I could not move half of my furniture because of the inflated cost. Now I have to find another mover. It feels like a bait and switch move.

I called U.S. Standard Moving & Storage that same Saturday afternoon around 4pm and described my situation. They said they'd be over in a just a few hours! A little while later, four friendly guys showed up with lots of equipment and began evaluating the situation. I will definitely call them whenever we are moving again.

Pleasantly Surprised

I recently moved with US Standard and was pleasantly surprise how well my move went. This is the second time I have moved and the first place, which I will not name, was a disaster. This time I did my research and made sure to read carefully and ask questions. Leanne who was my moving specialist, went over my house room by room asking questions about the different items. She asked question for things which are stand I guess for bedrooms, kitchens, etc, which I forgot to mention like the bar stools in my kitchen. Last time I moved I forgot items and ended up paying a lot more when the movers got there. They even called and double checked I didn't forget to add any items to make sure everything was on the list. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for the real deal, they know there stuff. They were more expensive then a couple of the quotes I got but I didn't want to pick the cheapest as they literally held my life in their hands lol. Good jobs guysI

Do not use them. They ask for deposits to secure a price and then they demand more money. I am out nearly $5000. I have called and left messages. I reached a"supervisor"who refused to refund my deposits. They wanted$22000, for a move, after they said it waswas$5000! Cons.

Don't Use These Guys.

They are committing fraud, they told me they would have a regular moving truck but show up with a semi (which would not work where we are moving to) and didn't even have enough room for what we needed to move in the truck they came with, then even though we were within the 72 hr cancellation time frame they would not refund our deposit.
