Price gouging and terrible service.

1st tthey quoted me a price of $2400 to move 10 miles then charged me an additional $385 for 2.5 more space for a total of $5000. They contract the movers locally andf the movers said they would pick up at 1, then it became 1-5. They showed up at 6 pm and left to came back the next day at 1130. Here is move in day after storing my furniture for 13 days and they said 9 am and here it is at 11:30 and even US Standard has no clue where the movers are at. No one can reach them.

Follow-up to my June 17th review - the claims process.

Following the bad experience I documented in my June 17th review, US Standard and Moving contacted me and offered a $400 refund but only if took down my negative review. I declined to take the money and remove my review. So I started through the claims process through yet another company (MovingClaims.net). We documented numerous broken and scratched items and most significant, we were missing two table leaves from a dining room table (which really can't be replaced) and also missing a propane powered fire pit. I heard from the claims company today and we were offered a total of $48. We will clearly never be able to replace the table leaves and certainly $48 won't come close to replacing the fire pit. A refund of $48 is embarrassing. To dispute the claim, the site is asking me to re-enter the entire inventory of damaged items. An inventory I’ve already entered once complete with photos. I sent the claims company an email and got a form letter back saying they’re not responsible for the outcome of the claim, and that “SETTLEMENT AMOUNTS ARE DETERMINED BASED ON THE CARRIER’S LEGAL LIABILITY AS DETAILED IN THE CARRIER’S GOVERNING BILL OF LADING.” This is by far the worst moving experience I’ve ever had.

Scammers.

These people are complete scammers. It’s actually sickening how they do business. I ordered a move but had to cancel. I called the rep who had helped me out, Jason Powell, and he said no problem I just checked with my supervisor and it’s taken care of, you will receive refund in 5 days. He scammed me. Cancellation must be done in writing within 3 days. Jason wouldn’t pick up and customer service wouldn’t even look into it. They just make me sick!

STAY AWAY from them! The worst company i've ever dealt with! I scheduled the moving , they required pre-payment and never showed up! Thank God I was able to find another mover in the last minute! Do not trust them, it's scam! When I tried to get my deposit back , they didn't even talk to me! I had to file a dispute claim through my bank and get my money back.

Long distance move.

This was a terrible experience. They kept upping the charge and then didn't even move everything. They want another 3800 dollars to get the rest after we have already paid 10 grand. They told my husband they would be out to our house three days prior to check the amount of things we had to be sure the quote was accurate. They never showed up. My husband called them and told them a 28 foot truck was NOT big enough. They brought a 28 foot truck and then charged us an extra 3000 that they wanted in cash! That is sketchy. We refused to get cash so we had a paper trail. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! We have broken things that are family heirlooms and they will do nothing about it. Very upset about this company.

Stay Away.

After becoming concerned at an extremely low quote (only half what every other company quoted me) and a very high deposit ($800), I did some research on this company. I called them back to get a better understanding of why my quote was so low, and was accused by customer service of "hiding things" to get a lower rate. This couldn't be farther from the truth - the sales rep, Travis Scott, rushed me through a verbal quote, assured me I was good to go at this price point.

- Customer service accused me of "hiding things"

- Customer service gave me the run-around, telling me they couldn't cancel my service, saying I had to speak to Travis, then telling me he wasn't in all day, after telling me he WAS working that day and would "call me right back."

- Travis Scott, Director of Operations never contacted me back, despite multiple emails and phone calls.

- I was finally able to secure a cancellation and refund, but they withheld 10% ($80 of my $800 deposit).

I reported this company to the California BHGS and the DOT.

Don't do business with them if you don't want to suffer a waking nightmare at one of the most stressful times of your life. I can't believe what these people put others through.

Awful Experience

Movers showed up a day late. Salesman told us they would arrive one day and deliver the next, but we won’t get our stuff for 18 days, and we are only 500 miles away. They are charging us an extra $700 more than we were quoted because our boxes are plastic totes instead of cardboard. I tried calling them several times and left 4 voicemails without a call back. Customer service accused me of lying when I told him how many times I had called. Should have gotten a Uhal.

Misleading Sales Tactics

The broker, U.S. Standard Moving & Storage Corp and George, the sales person, used misleading sales tactics of overpromising and underdelivering services. The biggest red flag was not performing a visual inspection of the goods to be transported. The result lead in the actual moving company to charge 150% more to complete the move.

The customer service following the pickup became nil.

Do not use unless you want to be a number, not a person.

Do not believe in this company

This company is a joke! They give you the attention of the world, give you a lower price to attract you and when the (outsourced) company arrives to pick up your furniture, they inform you that they sold you a very small space in the truck, that your stuffs do not fit in that space and DOUBLE charge you, to take your things. After that they don't answer to your calls anymore, they are incommunicable DON'T FALL INTO THIS BANG !!!!

Worst, never engage this company, criminals

They are criminals. The truck was supposed to arrive in a window of 12pm to 4pm. Never arrived. Two days later he arrived at 7:30 am, was abusive to new owners, abusive to my neighbors and my realtor and to me. He did not have the contract didn't know where he was delivering all of my belongings and was alone expecting us to load the truck. When he had to confess to his confusion he became verbally abusive and threatened physical violence, got in the truck and drove off. Everyone was stunned and shocked. He returned three nights later very late and same behavior. Ashely told me, after several calls that I would be repaid the $700 deposit. She has since denied. Criminals, stole my money and caused stress and fear. Never give these idiots any business and never trust them!!!!!!! I gave one star because I had to enter something, negative stars if they could.

Long-distance move from Providence, RI to Orlando, FL

SCAM! This place doesn’t even exist!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

In the process of moving from RI to FL. We were looking for quotes for moving trucks and this company reached out to us and told us they could beat the quotes we were getting. We spoke with a Breanna and went back and forth for awhile, before agreeing to a quote of around $1700. We paid a deposit of $650.

When we were getting ready to move we went to finalize our inventory. We knew the final price would go up a little, but between the two of us we have barely any big furniture and had already included that in the original inventory. Somehow, just by adding a few boxes and miscellaneous items, they wanted to charge us $8000 stating that we tripled the cubic space we would need. Meanwhile everything i was taking fit in one corner of my apartment.

After some “discounts” they said they’d be willing to get us, it’s be $5000. And they’d have 10 days. To get 20 hrs away.

The QA person that was texting us, Mike Spencer, was rude and unprofessional l, belittling us for asking questions about the new quote, texting us in all caps and exclamation points. Basically calling us stupid. At the same time, I was receiving emails from the Breanna we had talked to. But her extension continously went to voicemail over and over, and when i emailed her right back regarding our issue, I never received any response.

We’ve been calling customer service asking for management. We’re told they can only email management internally and can’t give out names or numbers. One customer service person told us we would need to speak with “Ashley” but wouldn’t tell us anything else. Another one told us she has no idea who her manager even was We were hung up on several times, one right after the other.

We googled the address we had for them and it doesn’t even look like the company exists there. I’ve filed a dispute with my card for the amount of the deposit and am just grateful that we didn’t move forward with this only to get screwed out of belongings and more money.

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to Phoenix, AZ

Worst Company I have ever Used

I have moved several times within the past 10 years and this is by far the worst company I have ever worked with. I would give them a 0 if I could. To start off, US Standard is a broker, meaning they outsource to the cheapest movers they can find. Additionally, this means they can avoid any sort of liability from any damages or mishaps during your move. Although this is communicated in the fine print of the binding estimate, they do not verbally communicate this to you during the initial sale. The website also boasts a 4.9/5.0 rating based on Movers.com and YellowPages.com but I wasn't able to find any reviews for US Standard & Movingon those sites. Their website also does not communicate that they are a broker and does not list out moving companies they use. We were not told who the moving company was (Moving Depot USA) until they showed up on moving day.

One of the sales points for US Standard was a price match adjustment up to $150. I sent the sales rep I worked with a cheaper quote from another moving company about 2 months before our actual move date. He responded with positive confirmation via email that he would make the adjustment. Another rep called me 2 days before our move date, and I asked him about the price match. He said that he had never heard of this and said he would look into it and call me the next day. That call never came. I called again the day after our move and left a message. No response. A few days after our move, I called the original sales rep to ask why we never got the price match and if we could be reimbursed the $150. We have in writing that he was going to perform this task. He BLOCKED our number. We were then on the phone with customer service who said that we could not be reimbursed for this because the move already occurred. Once again, the price match guarantee is in the binding estimate. The customer service rep told us she would call us back in 48 hours. We have yet to receive any communication.

I also urge people to go with a high-quality mover if possible. The movers that US Standard hired were absolutely terrible. They charged us $1,900 more than our estimate, even though we were very accurate with our inventory list (we don't have any items of non-standard sizes either). This estimate almost doubled the estimated cubic feet that our belonging would take up (from 517 cu ft to 950 cu ft). Once they packed up our belongings, they had us sign a revised binding estimate (for reference, the movers are supposed to give a quote before packing everything up to avoid holding your belongings "hostage"). The main mover was on a call with another customer who refused to pay (most likely because of the ridiculous price increase). He told his movers to unpack and leave the woman's belongings if she did not pay. We were scared that if we disagreed with the price then we would not be able to move that day (which we had to). They took us (and that lady) at a vulnerable/stressful moment (moving day) to get us to pay up.

The movers also managed to break almost every item that they packed. They do not cover damages to boxes that were packed by the owner (PBO). Upon inspection of our PBO boxes, there was no way that they made a good faith effort to transport our belongings with care. We understand that there will inevitably be jostling around in the truck, but our boxes look they were just simply thrown around. The boxes had giant gashes in them and some were delivered upside down. Some of the boxes marked as "heavy" were on the top of stacked boxes. We also had multiple items that were lost. In total, we had around $5,000 in total damage, which is astounding because we are in a 1 bedroom apartment. Again, both US Standard and the movers (Moving Depot USA) were able to avoid liability just because these boxes were packed by the owners (including our TV which was in a specialty TV box and our Peloton screen which was in the original packaging, Styrofoam included). The reason that the TV broke had nothing to do with our packing - there was a giant gash in the side of the box right where the screen cracked.

Our delivery movers were not better than our pick-up movers. One of the delivery movers showed up high on hard drugs, so the other movers had to take him home. They also never had us sign any inventory list or the bill of lading upon delivery. There was no reassembly at delivery which was included in the initial binding agreement. Additionally, the movers would not unload the truck until we paid almost $2,000 in cash. That's just another red flag that we overlooked.

I very much wish I moved everything myself instead of hiring these people. I truly think that US Standard is a scam of a company and schemes with the moving companies they hire.

I highly recommend U.S. Standard Moving & Storage to look for fast, affordable, professional & friendly service. They are far better than the other movers. Long-distance move from Seattle, WA to Castle Rock, CO

Absolutly horrible experience - run, don't walk from this business!

Zero stars of of 5! I would NOT, I repeat, I would NOT ever contract with US Standard Moving. I did a ton of research and made a lot of phone calls before deciding to work with US Standard Moving – worst decision I have made in a long time. I called US Standard Moving on April 1, 2021 (maybe that was the first mistake as it was April Fool’s Day – I sure feel like a fool for working with this company). Anyway, on April 1 I spoke with Sam, an assertive salesman who said all the right things and gave me a quote I could work with. My parents are elderly and I was helping them with a move from Seattle, WA to Denver, CO. My parents are moving to Germany and they wanted to send their bedroom furniture and a few other pieces of furniture and about 20 boxes to my son in Colorado (he just bought a new house and was excited to receive the furnishings). I told Sam that we needed the moving truck to come pick up the items on July 7 and he said no problem. I paid a deposit and never heard a word from the company until about 4 days prior to the move. I received a text from a Mike on July 3 stating he was from “quality assurance” and would be calling soon to go over the inventory list and scheduling the move. I finally spoke to Mike on July 5th (just 2 days before the move). We went over the inventory list and he said he’d call me back in 5 minutes with final cost as we did add a few more items. An hour later, I get a text from Mike with a quote of almost double the original price! I was planning to fly to Seattle from Denver on July 6 to be with my parents for the move on July 7th, so rather than argue about the cost with Mike, I decided to wait until the foreman arrived to re-assess some of the items. I sent an additional deposit based on the new quote and waited to hear back from customer service with the time window of when the movers would arrive. We had to alert the condo mgmt. of the window so they could pad the elevators, etc. My sister always traveled from San Jose, CA to Seattle to help make sure all went goes well. I started to get worried when I did not hear back from US Standard. I texted Mike, I called customer service and they just kept saying they would call me between 4pm and 6pm EST on July 6 with ETA for movers to arrive on July 7th. I landed in Seattle July 6 at 10:30am and kept hope that I’d hear from US Standard. At 4:30pm EST, I get a call from US Standard Moving company asking me how “flexible” I am with the moving dates. I told the rep that I was not flexible, I had traveled a long way, my parents had to get the stuff out of their condo to get ready to move to Denver. She then said, well I’m sorry we have to cancel the order. I was in complete disbelief!! I asked her why and she said they could not find any movers. What upsets me the most is that I explained in great detail that my sister and I would be traveling to Seattle, that the date needed to be firm and was told no problem. How can a company take more money 4 days before a move knowing they had no one lined up to move the furniture? This has been a nightmare for us. We ended up taking 20 boxes of nice kitchenware, bedding and items that were sentimental to our family to Goodwill. We had to pay another company to come and haul the furniture away because we could not find another company with such last minute notice. My son now has to buy bedroom furniture – he was sleeping on the floor waiting for a bed, dressers, night stands, etc. Do not contract with US Standard Moving – I promise something will go wrong!

Scam !

I was scheduled to move on Sept 6th. I spoke with a representative named Melissa & she explained that I would have a virtual walk through on Sept 3rd. That walk through never happened.. instead two days before my move date I received a text message from Mike asking if I needed to add any additional items. I told him that I needed to add a medium towel cabinet. He told me I was originally quoted for 2002 lbs and he adjusted the weight to 3346 lbs which inflating the cost if my move from $2150 to $4133. So he's claiming my cabinet weighs 1324 pounds ? That's ridiculous. I put the cabinet in the back of my car by myself. It doesn't weight 70 pounds. This company is rated F on the bbb. I see why. All of the unhappy customers are not wrong.

Bait and switch

Hired for a move with a large Binding Estimate Fee. The day of the move (2 days late and having to pay fees to my rental) the third party movers since that fee didn’t matter and had to pay based on cubic footage. Was forced to pay $10,500 over the quote from the company. I have received no response back to calls or emails and was hung up on many times. I want a check for the overage I was forced to pay.

This "company" needs to be penalized, fined, and put out of business ASAP. I have contacted the BBB regarding their questionable practices but suffice it to say my entire three bedroom move was stolen. No sign of the truck or the movers who came out to the unit. It is just gone. And what is worse, this company charges you money just to find another group you still have to pay! Disgusting and dishonest group of people, if you can even call them that. I had things in there from my husband who passed away that thanks to this POS company I will never see again. Save yourself the heartache and the trouble and DO NOT use this so called company!! US Standard moving and storage

This was the worst company. They lied and gave me an estimate, then subbed the job out. The price doubled and the sub contractor showed up in a truck too small to move my household goods out of state. Now, everything sits in storage while the sub tries to find a semi truck. US Standard breached the contract. The sub didn't show up until a day after my move was supposed to happen and then they were ill equipped for the move and couldn't move a gun safe we contracted for and I will sit in an empty house for 10 days at least. First of all I was lied to by Sam Cohen, the representative for US Standard Moving. When the movers came to get my belongings I was charged more than 100% than what I was quoted. The movers actually stated that "these reps" don't know what they are doing. I had to leave belongings that I really wanted to keep because I could not afford the sudden increase in cost. Then after they picked up my belongings, my daughter, notme, gets an email stating it will be $495 more because they cann't deliever to her address which is in the country with a huge U driveway. I have called Sam Cohen who will not respond, their customer service who will not respond and I have called the number on the email multiple times with no answer except for music. Don’t waste your time. I beg you!

This has been the most horrific experience I have every had with a move.

Ty- worked with me to get me a quote which seemed reasonable and explained that they could make any price. Confirmed my date for 12/17. On 12/16 three people called to go back over my move and confirm inventory. Mind you we only discussed items (no cubic feet was discussed) only items. Remember that.

After each call on 12/16 I asked was this my window call and they said no you would receive a call between 4pm-6pm with your pick up window. At 5:55pm I reached back out to Ty via text message saying I had not heard back on my window.

Ty said it should be from 11-1 but let him do I leave check. I did not hear back that night.

The next morning 12/17- MOVING DAY. I called the number you called me to verify/confirm everything. I got Mia. Mia said let her cal me back I’m 15 minutes once she got back to the office. An hour goes by no call so I call her. She says I’m not on the schedule foe today. I explain this is a domestic violence issue and I was trying to be out while no one was home as I had family drive up 6 hours and rented hotel rooms and extra trucks. Ashley her boss got on the phone rude as hell and said they could not help me.

I have never worked in the moving business but have worked in customer service all my life for a major hotel chain and when you screw up you “make it right” for your customer. Even if they means you hitting the bullet and calling another hotel or buddy in your industry to take care of the customer.

Long story short they could not help me.

Friday comes I get a call that the truck “broke down” and they could not come until Saturday but was told on Friday they would be there at 8:00pm

They did not arrive until 1:00pm and then said based on the civil sq feet they could not load all of my things. NO ONE MENTIONED ANY CUBIC SQUARE FEET WITH ME EVER IN ANY OF OUR COMMUNICATION.

PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They do not care about you or your situation. No had a 4 day move. This is not my first move. You finalize a date and that’s it.

If anything get the quote from them and have someone match it. I am free to discuss any further information used but it’s not worth using them at all. Poor customer service, no empathy to domestic violence, rude and disrespectful for their [EDIT] ups. Stay far away. And if I am lying on any of this I am happy to post the screenshots to match.
