Long-distance move from Mississippi to Arkansas

Best move ever.

I was dubious after reading some of the reviews of U-Haul, but this was the easiest smoothest move I have ever had. The trailer arrived clean and the drivers were well trained professionals having no problem placing the trailer exactly where I needed it. I found out I needed 2 more feet than predicted but loved being able to adjust than leave something behind.   HINT If I had had more straps and a ladder I believe that extra footage would have not been needed, because my friends packing did not fill all the way to the top (9 feet is high!).

Service cost: $1439

Official company response

Thank you for choosing U-Pack, C.D.! We appreciate the helpful review--you make a great point about utilizing maximum trailer space to save even more. Best wishes in your new home!

States he doesn’t know where any certified scales are.  The ticked of letting clearly states at the top where he needed to have trailer weighed.  Craig complains that a weight ticket is not necessary and we are making more work for him. 1:00pm Lauren Choiniere Speaks with Laura in Fontana office, Craig is sent to the scales to have trailer weighed.  Scales are 30 miles away. 3:00 pm  Craig returns to Yucca Valley Address.  He opens the trailer it has broken glass and debris inside.  He says he does not have time to clean the trailer as he is now late to pick up a trailer in 29 Palms. He produces paperwork demanding that Lauren Choiniere sign it quickly so he can get back on the road. Lauren demands a copy of the weight ticket, he argues with her for 10 minutes before handing a wrinkled shoved in pocket copy over to her. Lauren reads over the paperwork, it states that he need to sweep the trailer, show her how to set up the ramp and bulk head and how to close and lock trailer for pick up. He tells her that the bulk head can kill a person if put up incorrectly and that her husband should be able to figure it out on his own. Craig preformed none of these tasks . Lauren calls Laura in the Fontana office asking what happened, is told that Jason was supposed to have handled it and has no idea why the trailer was not weighed  or measured in CA, Laura assures Lauren that things will be passed up the chain and taken care of. Long-distance move from Colorado to Florida

Rude customer service.

I decided to hire Upack for a long distance move.  When I called to set up the trailer delivery I needed it just a few days later.  The salesman assured me they would have the trailer dropped at my location on the day I needed between 8am and 10am.  I confirmed the date and times with him TWICE before ending our call.  Well, day of the move and no delivery as promised.  When I called to inquire where my trailer was the person on the phone said that the reservation I made was for the following week!  I assured him it was not as I needed to be at my destination at that day already and that there had been a mistake.  I even had the name of the person I made the reservation with and was actually speaking to him again.  Of course, he denied ever speaking to me.  The thing that angered me the most was the fact that he kept repeating that it was MY mistake.  No apology. No "let me see what happened". Nothing.  Complete rudeness. No accountability with this company. Any chance of me using or recommending this company to anyone is now gone.  Needless to say, it cost me a lot of money to change my plans last minute.  I am very upset with the way Upack handled this mix up.  Very unprofessional!!

U-Pack.

Moved from MO to AZ.  I heartily recommend U-Pack.  The customer reps were friendly and helpful.  The cube was delivered at the departure site on schedule and picked up on schedule.  We had the cube stored for a few days until we were ready for it at the destination; called for delivery and was delivered exactly as scheduled.  The price was reasonable.  The drivers that delivered the cube were friendly and accommodating.  If you use U-Pack you don’t have to worry about a thing.  This is a first class operation with first class employees.  I give U-Pack ten stars on a five star scale!   Curt Bonds.

We were absolutely delighted with our experience with U-Pack.  The company is staffed by people we found to be exceptionally courteous and professional.  They were extremely easy to work with.  Their communications with us were flawless.  Everything arrived in California in excellent condition, ahead of schedule.  I think their price was very reasonable.  I would use U-Pack in a heartbeat again, and will recommend them freely.

Long-distance move from Georgia to Missouri

Damaged Property.

I didn't think I would ever have to go to theis level as to post a bad review about a company. I am beyond UPSET over the damage to my items.  From the beginning of the moving process I received very poor service. The beginning should have given me some sort of idea of the experience I was about to receive and I should have stopped the process then.  Without posting all of the gruesome details, I will start when my items arrived at the drop-off location. When I arrived on day one to view the truck to ensure my items were ok everything looked ok. I went back a second time to pickup certain items before the movers picked up the rest. When I arrived I had two ABF employees to remove the wooden dividers so we could start to unpack. When the dividers were removed all of my furniture started tumbling forward onto to us. The two employees asked that I remove myself from the truck so I didn't get hurt, which I did. I could not believe what I was seeing. I was so mad that I went into the office to inform them of what had just happened all I received was we are sorry but here is a claim form to submit for damages. WELL, who would have thought in the end you file a claim and are told you are only going to receive .10 cents on the dollar. What in the world could .10 cents pay for when you have hundreds of dollars in damage created by ABF Freight. I was asked why I didn't buy more insurnace, which was a slap in the face. I informed that employee that no one ever told me about extra coverage. It seems to me that this is how ABF works. Lets give them a contract and not tell them that they can buy extra coverage so we don't have to shell out loads of money.  I will tell everyone I possibly can about ABF as well as posting a review on as many sites I possibly can. This is some underhanded unprofessional tactics this company is using and something needs to be done about it.

Service cost: $8500

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience and would like to see how I can help. Would you please send your move info to us at customercare@upack.com? Someone will be in touch shortly.

Long-distance move from Louisiana to Texas

Small move Louisiana to Texas.

We used U-Pack to move my grandmother's items from Lafayette Louisiana to Texas. We kept having to push back the move date (by months) and U-Pack kept with the original quote. I paid for the 2 hour delivery window and that worked great. The driver had to get the truck down a pretty narrow driveway, over a culvert and between big trees. He did a great job.  We weren't quite ready for delivery in Texas and they held the shipment for several days no charge. They notified me of delivery time and it all went smoothly. We only needed the five feet of space. A lot can fit in there. We didn't want to drive a U-haul. This was by far the easiest and cheapest option I could find. We used Bellhops movers to load the truck in Lafayette and that worked great.

International move from , AZ to , BC

Smooth!

We moved from Arizona to Vancouver, BC in February 2015.  Not a lot of companies offered an international move like this, and U Pack was by far the best price (PODS wanted almost 3x the price!).  From start to finish, the process was very smooth, all questions answered, great customer service, and the customs process in Surrey, BC was a breeze.  We chose to load and unload the pod at their sites, and it couldn't have been easier - just pull your truck up (within 5-10 ft of the pod).  Such an easy move!  Would definitely use U Pack again.

Service cost: $1400

Official company response

Alison,

Thank you for choosing U-Pack! An international move can definitely be tougher than an interstate move, so I'm glad to hear everything went smoothly. Also, thanks for describing your terminal-to-terminal move--it really is a great option.

Enjoy your new place in Vancouver, and thanks again!
