Absolutely worst company ever

Sold me fake insurance, broke very expensive furniture and want to spray paint it. Owner called me names screamed at me on personal line. Corporate is just as abusive. No one cares. My $5000 bed that has chunks of missing parts, had a leak totally soak and stain headboard, scratches all over was given $250 fix price w a cheap labor spray paint guy. Caracole who made said it wasn’t fixable. Dresser was $7000. Guy spray painted and has bubbles , drips , overspray and additional scratches. Drawers are all messed up. No one cares. Posted on Instagram. Prob 50 wrote saying same thing. My opinion this is big corp taking advantage of little guy. I will never stop warning.

Excellent, once they arrived.

The original quoted time allowed for a 4 hour window in which the movers were to arrive. My move was scheduled for the afternoon, following another job the guys had that morning. They arrived an hour after the quoted window.  However, once they arrived, they hustled to load and unload my belongings. I was impressed by their care and expediency. They loaded, drove and unloaded the contents of a packed two bedroom house to a destination 20 miles away in 5 hours, as quoted.  It would have likely taken me and a friend at least three times as long to do the work they did. The guys were very experienced, incredibly careful, and did I say fast? A pleasure to work with.  I will definitely use this company again.

Never again.

I recently booked Two Men to help me pack up and move my leftover items into storage, since I had already moved to AZ. The 3 man crew that showed up at my place was slow, clearly didn't want to be there, spent a lot of time on the phone, and was very unorganized. In the end, I was charged almost $900 for them to move 1 wooden dining room chair, 1 cupboard, 2 large stuffed animals, a child size rocking horse, 12 boxes that they packed (one box was nothing more than a magazine rack that they placed in the box), and 2 bookshelves and a dresser that weren't supposed to go in the first place. It took them 2.5-3 hours to load those items..not pack anything, mind you..load it into the truck. I finally had to ask them to stop wandering around and wrap up the job so I didn't pay them overtime. They didn't even touch the 6 already packed boxes I had ready to go. Even strangers who saw them mentioned the crew seemed unorganized and slow. When I talked to the quality manager in the office, he assured me he would open an investigation and come up with a solution. Never heard back from him again. Because if this company, I had to hire another moving crew (who DID finish in 3 hours) and probably alienated several friendships since I had to beg for help. The entire experience was a disaster. I highly recommend NOT using this company. .

Long-distance move from Maryland to West Virginia

Two Men and a Truck Nightmare.

If I could give this company a 0 I would.  The worst.  Two of the four workers complained about a delay in pay because our move wasn't a direct move (our stuff was being stored until we could settle on our new house) and then they indicated they might not finish the job.  They dropped boxes and furniture in front of us.  They did damage to almost all of our furniture.  Packed a lot of our breakables together in a pile on a few sheets of the newspaper they use instead of wrapping breakables individually.  They packed heavy breakables on top of more fragile breakables causing them to break.  They can't find some of our stuff, like our 60" TV, levels, bedding and other stuff.  We have a lot of missing stuff and probably more than we even know right now, we will probably realize something it missing months from now when we go to look for it and realize it is not there.  There is no way to tell for sure since they did not do an inventory when loading our stuff and failed to weigh one of the trucks.  Two boxes of stuff that isn't ours was delivered to us and has never been retrieved by the company.  I found CDs in our outside grill.  Contents of boxes scattered.  They packed unwrapped pictures in a big wardrobe box with fishing poles, box of ornaments, curtain rods, closet rods and other things causing damage to them.  They didn't have an inventory for me to sign and didn't weigh one of the trucks. They have produced no damage sheet with my signature on it.  When I contacted corporate I was told "franchises are their own entities and make the final decision" in regards to a settlement for our losses.   Leaving me with no confidence in the "Two men and a truck" name.  I definitely felt they were NOT "movers that care".  Not only would I not recommend this company but I will be sure to share my horrible experience.  Moving is stressful enough as it is but dealing with this company made it a nightmare.

Unprofessional Company.

Do not use Two men and a truck at the McFarland Alpharetta Georgia location or really anywhere if you can help it. I would give them no stars if I could. They do not even deserve 1 star. We were a repeat customer and treated so poorly. They held our furniture for 3 additional days without consent and required us to pay an inflated amount before they would deliver our furniture. Many, many damages but we received minimum compensation because we did not purchase the extended insurance for $450! The damage was over $500.Chairs and furniture thrown in the truck not carefully wrapped or stacked.Movers did not bring water or food so were worn out by noon. Sat around for 2 hours for lunch which we bought and paid for the food and the hours they sat around. They got the truck stuck for 1 1/2 hours which we also paid for. Because of the poor service and use of their time, they could not finish in one day and proceeded to take our furniture without our consent to sit, where we were not told, for an additional 3 days. That was never discussed as a possibility when quoting our job. I contacted corporate thinking they would want to know how a franchise is using their name and received no help at all over a 3 week period. They called the franchise to contact us. The franchise responded that we were lying (of course) and proceeded to tell us what really happened even though management was not there. They are such an unprofessional company even corporate. It was one of the most frustrating experience I have ever experienced. If you care anything about your furniture, your wallet (because the end price is never what you are quoted so they can get your business), your sanity or your back (we had to sleep on the floor for 3 nights as they kept 1/3 of the furniture for 3 days) We did receive a small refund several weeks later because it only took 2 hours to unload the last of the furniture not 4 which we had been forced to pay before they would unload. DO NOT USE 2 MEN and a TRUCK. You will not receive "Movers who care" treatment nor any restitution if you suffer the way we did. They do not care. Period.

Damaged furniture.

We had used 2 M&AT a couple of times before when we lived in a different state and our move from Atlanta to our rental house in AL could not have been smoother. Our problems started when we moved from our rental into our purchased home. Although the move was less than a half mile we still wanted our possessions moved professionally and wanted them to arrive in one piece. What we got from 2 M&AT was far from professional, our furniture wasn't wrapped or covered resulting in serious damage to the fabric & legs of a $30,000 Ico Parisi suite. At this point the mover has not been helpful. I'm sure they are standing behind their 'limitiations' which is to repair the damage done to the item at a repairer of their choosing, but as this is a highly collectible collection of furniture the value comes from all the 3 pieces matching. They told me that they would not be pursuing these repairs through their insurance (maybe they have such a poor record of keeping their customers possessions safe?) that they would be paying out of pocket and refuse to maintain the integrity of the value of the furniture by only repairing the damaged items. This has the effect of not being a matching set of furniture and I have 2 options. 1. to pay out of my own pocket to have the 3red piece recovered to match the 2 damaged items, or 2. to accept that this furniture is probably only worth 20% of its original value. I'm also concerned that if these items are repaired and I have no say in who repairs them, then the value will be significantly impacted even more as they need to be repaired by highly skilled craftsmen who are familiar with this kind of furniture and understand its appeal on the glovbal auction market  .

In State Move.

My parents were moving out of state and decided to give me several pieces of furniture; a few couches, old fish tank (empty, no water), a lounge chair, filing cabinet, and kitchen table. I decided to hire a mover so that I did not have to waste an entire Saturday or Sunday and get a buddy to help. The move is about 40 miles and an hour of driving from origin to destination. Two Men and a Truck quoted me$ 345 for the move originally.

The movers showed up early and I was notified by my parents that these movers clearly could not care less, were bumping into walls and woodwork without a care in the world. On top of that they took their time. I then found out later that my parents tipped these two guys, hoping that maybe this would make them be a bit more careful. Nope. Couch cushions were tossed onto the lawn and driveway at my house and all items, I believe there were 8 and none were all that heavy or awkward, were simply thrown into my house. They couldn't even be bothered to take 5 minutes to put the cushions onto the couch or anything. Then they took their time chilling in their truck, milking the time further, only to inform us that they had gone over the original estimate and the new charge would be $400 instead of $350. So a job that was literally supposed to take 3 hrs, with 75% of that being driving, was poorly estimated. I did the math afterwards with Google Maps and realized their estimator had left about 20 minutes for the movers to load, and 20 minutes for them to unload. The clock started when these guys left their dock, and ended when they returned. But they spent over half an hour loading the truck alone and I am assuming they had to have stopped for lunch or something too. And they accepted a tip that they clearly didn't appreciate (I found this out after the fact and this probably irked me the most). I understand that an estimate is an estimate, but in my opinion, he clearly underestimated to get the job.

My parents had this same company quote their out of state move, and luckily went with another. They told me their experience with the Two Men and a Truck estimator was a total joke, over priced, and tried selling them on the fact that their company will not compete with other companies on long range moves because Two Men and a Truck uses smaller trucks. My parents just completed their move with another company, using the same size trucks as Two Men and a Truck, saving a few thousand, and informed me how professional their movers were. If only I knew what I knew now. Maybe people have had nice experiences with this company, but this one left a real sour taste in my mouth and that is why I decided to write a review, something I rarely do. I also uploaded a photo of my living room after these guys left. At least my son got a kick out of the chaos. I would think twice if you went to hire this unprofessional company. Perhaps they didn't care because my move wasn't an $8k move like my parents.

Disastrous Move.

The move was disaster.Movers were very inefficient, didn't have any strength to lift, they were careless about our house and furniture, they dragged most of the stuff and there are several damages. They damaged my door to garage pretty badly with dents, stains and hole. They broke my dresser mirror foot and one side plank, which is not fitting now. Did several scratches to walls and doors. They were very slow in their work taking their own sweet time, Just had 2 sofa sets, 2 beds, 1 dresser, 3 mattresses, 2 TVs, 2 exercise benches and weights along with some minor stuff and they took 8 hours to move. Will not recommend to anyone.

Unacceptable.

We have tried to handle this differently but that didn't work so now we will just send out a warning!! We recently hired Two Men and a Truck to handle our move and considering we have moved more than 10 times in our military career this was extremely upsetting and we have NEVER experienced this issue. The price for this move was about $3,000!! Prior to the move we repeatedly asked them if they wanted to see the house and gave them the specifics of our house. They arrived at 9 am and my husband was still there helping them load and unload after midnight. They ran out of boxes pretty early in the day and they began to wrap my containers without securing the items inside. We did discuss this with them, but no changes were made. (We were up against a deadline since we were closing on our house.) Since they did not bring a big enough truck they had to unload it into the storage unit and then come back which caused delays and added to the cost. We saw many items simply set into the truck including the large bedroom mirror leaning up against a kitchen chair without being wrapped or protected in any way. (We have plenty of pictures including the inside of the truck immediately prior to driving off where it looks like things were thrown in if you need proof.) Since they did not finish loading everything from the house, my husband and I had to pack and load many items including bookcases at 6 am the next morning. Once in the storage unit (where they unloaded) I found my bathroom towels and rugs in a heap on the floor. My bedroom furniture drawers were not wrapped and they have been stacked on each other with metal stands leaning against them. The art work from our house is stacked in the dresser drawers unwrapped and unprotected. So far we have found four broken pictures, but can only see so far into the unit.
We were there the entire time and were asking about how it was being handled. No real response or concern. We had been assured that they had it all covered and there would be no problem completing the move in one day. Since this did not happen the closing on our house had to be delayed and my husband and I had to cancel work to finish the move. We had hired someone to clean the house prior to the new owners taking possession, but since my husband and I were still loading furniture and DRAWERS of items they had missed the cleaning had to be cancelled. (We had to do it after loading our furniture into my van and a trailer borrowed from a neighbor.) We have attempted to deal with the company and the owner said he cannot refund some of our money but will give us a discount when they move it to our new home. Due to the way it was packed and put into storage, I am very worried about what we will find when it arrives at our new home. I feel like we are being held hostage by this company because if we hire someone else they will be able to say that the other company caused the damage. I guess the best I can do is provide warnings. We have many pictures some I have posted on Facebook and some I have not. I am truly heartbroken that this happened. We have many boxes of pictures, memories, awards and military memorabilia that I am dreading have been damaged. We have never filed a complaint on a mover in all of our moves. Yes, we have had things broken, but that kind of comes with the territory. This was a very different issue and I hope we can save someone else what we have gone through with this company.

Two Men and a Truck - Bait and Switch?? Unethical for Sure!!

Hiring Two Men and a Truck for my move turned out to be a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! First, the good news: the 2 movers were nice and punctual. Now the not-so-good: After arriving at the new place and unloading the truck, the mover sat down and said he was going to call in and "stop the clock" so we could settle up. The move took longer than anticipated so I knew the amount would be more than the estimate. The mover was told by the Two Men and a Truck representative that the total would be $974.73. That included the entire moving time, mileage charges, supplies, tax, etc. He explained everything I was being charged for. I said OK, signed and initialed the contract, and gave him my American Express card. After we both signed and the transaction was completed, his phone rang and it was apparently the manager from Two Men and a Truck saying the amount was wrong. He said something about the math being calculated incorrectly (by TMaaT) and the new price was $1032.23. The mover had already run my card for $974.73 and the contract was signed. I argued this and said that if the calculations were indeed wrong, it was a mistake done by Two Men and a Truck, not by me. TMaaT needed to own their mistake and charge me the amount I had just paid, not the new higher amount. The mover cancelled my original payment and reran my American Express for $1032.23. I paid it under duress and initialed the contract only because I was exhausted and wanted them out of my house. HOW SHADY IS THAT?? Is this Bait and Switch? It's definitely Unethical and BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE!! The difference was $56.50. How desperate and cheap is Two Men and a Truck anyway?? Did I mention they broke the glass in the door of my vintage cabinet? They paid a whopping $75 in damages. Please tell me where this can be repaired for $75? Overall, this ended up being a FRUSTRATING, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I have tried (unsuccessfully) to contact someone at TMaaT to discuss and correct this error. They claim the final amount charged was right, even though the original price calculations were admittedly their fault and their error. What a shame this company will not take responsibility for their actions.
