Southern Guarantee Moving and Storage

If there was a zero star rating, they would be a negative 100. Today, I registered a complaint with the Department of Transportation/Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the Federal Trade Commission, Florida State Attorney's Office, Texas State Attorney's Office, Maryland State Attorney's Office, and Crockett National Bank. They are officially being investigated by all of the above. They have broken approximately 30 federal laws and I don't know how many state and local laws. We had an unmarked truck with fake TX temporary tags affixed over permanent metal plates. Where I don't know since we didn't look under the fake plates. They represented themselves as an agent for Allied Moving Vans but sent a truck from a moving company that doesn't even operate in TX. If you look at their webpage "about us", there is no mention of them being a broker unless you look at the very bottom of the page where it's neatly hidden with contact information, etc. Fortunately, we didn't let the movers take our belongings. We even had a friend who is a former Green Beret show up and lay down his pistol on our kitchen table to give the driver a message. Apparently, those who serve in the military are subject to being defrauded by these companies on a regular basis. They even withdrew money ACH from my checking account a couple of hours after I fired them. It was a deposit for an item not even listed on their inventory of my house belongings. I could go on and on about the many misrepresentations by the company, but trust me when I state that they are going down, criminal charges will occur, and they will be shut down. There is no way possible that this company can survive after I'm done with them. They messed with the wrong person and one that has connections. Once again, the aforementioned are just a sampling of the many improprieties in which Southern Guarantee Moving will have to answer for in a court of law. If you are going to be a thief, be a good one and know what you are doing. They are so arrogant they have no clue what's coming their way.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8000

BEWARE! We are moving my parents to Fl. We signed a binding moving est. on 4/25/22. We were given our list of items (51 pc) for a certain price. We were asked to wait until 7/22 to move bc they already have a delivery in the area.

A week before we received an email stating our move was scheduled for 7/22 & we would receive a call on 7/21. NOPE! We did not receive a call the morning of p/up. When we called customer service, they would say the driver would call us shortly. We waited all day. At 7:30pm, we received a call from the driver. He stated that they just received the request from S. G. Moving & he would not be able to pickup the items until late afternoon on 7/23. Because the new home owners were scheduled to move in on 7/23, we had to move my parents items to the garage & driveway. The driver finally arrived at 5pm. At the time of signing our contract, we were not told of a 3rd party driver.

As they started to load the items on the truck, we realized they had no moving blankets. They only came with wrap. My parent's furniture is wrapped in plastic with no blankets. In addition, they start talking about cu.f. I told them this did not apply to us because we have a set amount. This is when we learned of the scam the company was running. The amount ended up costing $4K over quote. They can't tell us when they will arrive. We were told in April it would be door to door (F-M). Another lie!

When I called to complain about the additional fees & delivery, I was told this company was not Amazon. They had no projection time of delivery. I mentioned the door/door promise .He told me that employee was let go. He said he wasn't responsible for the additional cost. I asked for the owners' name. He said; "you don't go to Chilis & get the owner's name". I asked for his boss' name, he hung up. There is no way they can be rated a 2.73. Moving multiple times in the military and this is the worst. The employee indicated their business is "just fine". I am not sure how? If there was a zero option, I would do it!

18th June was pick up date and first day of delivery was 24 June . I am still waiting for my stuff to be delivered from more than 1 month.

I am living in empty house from last more than 1 month with my 2 small kids and in a very frustrating situation .

They don't give any tentative date for my delivery as well

I have done contract with them to move from Tennessee to NC only 540 miles. They keep saying that my stuff is in Georgia public storage.

I am extensively following up from last 2 weeks with them and they are not helping to expedite .

I advice to think 1000 times before doing any contract with this company.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $2985

1. These guys are a third party contractor who often under quote when assessing cost of moving. When the movers get there to pick up your stuff, they then give you a quote much higher than the original

2. They are poor with communication. There were so many problems throughout my move and the drivers, the moving company, and Southern Guarantee weren't talking to each other. Furthermore, Southern Guarantee would just say "there is nothing we can do but call the moving company as we are a third party contractor."

3. Going along with poor communication, Southern Guarantee would give you a contract that the movers would then not abide by

Ultimately, I would steer clear of them but check the BBB (better business bureau) for more (which I think is just good practice to check on not well known companies).

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3500

My contract for moving was for pick up in Colorado Springs, co, to moving to St. Paul mn, between 7/22 and 7/24. They pushed it out till the 25th, then the 28th and then finally promised for the 30th between between 4 and 6. What a lie. It’s just about six and no one has shown up. I can’t reach anyone and I’m sitting here wondering what the heck to do since I have to vacate my apartment by the first and I’ve already started paying for an apartment in a St Paul, MN. This has got to be the worst moving company ever. Six days late is ridiculous and they should be ashamed of themselves. Unless you want a massive headache and your plans messed up don’t use Southern Guarantee Moving.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $1900

If I could give zero stars , I would . This company is as dishonest as they come. First I was contracted out to the first random company that was available to move me. Then I was quoted a price of a little more than $5,000. They contact me three days before my move and confirm the amount of stuff and suddenly my quote jumps to $11,000. Finally, the day of the move , the people show up and tell me that the move will now cost me $17,000 and that they could hold my stuff for as long as a month. At this point , I had already signed a contract and paid two deposits. I was out over $5,000 and they would not return my funds if I cancelled the job.

This is a complete bait and switch. Ultimately I did cancel and I am in the process of fighting to get my deposits back. They did not render any service whatsoever. And to add insult to injury the lady who was quoting us the day of the move walk through the house eyeballed our stuff and decides to quote everything in her head and that's how she came with with the new random $17,000 quote that did not come close to coinciding with any of the previous conversations about the amount of stuff we had. After the fact, I come to find out that every single step if the way , I was lied to. Not one honest person. I will never have a moving company move me ... Just won't do it.

Do yourself a favor and move yourself if you can , and if not , stay away from this corrupt company.

SCAM, DO NOT USE. Our elderly friends contracted with this company, paid the deposit, were given a date for picking up based on when their home would close escrow. The company did not return calls when our friends tried to confirm a few days prior to the move. The company finally called the morning of scheduled move and promised that someone would be there. No one ever showed up!!! We finally found a UHaul at the last minute and traveled 4 hours to helped them move right before their escrow closed. The company refused to refund their deposit!! This company lacks any ethical business standard. They will take your non-refundable deposit and laugh all the way to the bank. DO NOT USE this SCAM company.

We hired Southern Guarantee to transport our belongings from WA to KS.

Our items were picked up on 7/21/2022, and we signed an agreement which shows our initial agreement to pay a total of $2798. This contract confirms that we have paid $1168 as a deposit, and we paid $815 upon pickup, and we owe $815 as the total remaining amount to be paid when our items are (promised to be) delivered on 7/29/22. We received texts and calls over the last three days and the moving team is telling us we need to pay another $1000. Additionally, they are saying they will not guarantee delivery on the 29th of July, and instead it could take up to 20 additional days from July 29th 2022.

When the movers loaded the truck, we very intentionally told the movers we do not wish to include anything more than the $2798 amount we initially agreed to pay in total for our moving cost, and asked them to make certain we did exceed any more space than what the $2798 includes. They confirmed that our items did not exceed this amount, and were within what the $2798 includes. Prior to leaving I asked the movers, will there be any additional costs other than the $815 paid upon delivery, and they confirmed, "No, there will not be any additional costs." Our contract agrees that $815 is the remaining amount to be paid, yet they are now demanding another $1000, and are not guaranteeing delivery of our goods. Moreover, when we initially contacted them they assured us we could use a credit card for payments, however when they arrived in person they said they would not provide this option.

This company has been very deceptive and misleading, and is attempting to extort additional money from us. They have offered very poor communication, and have changed their agreement multiple times during the course of interacting with them.

Stay away from this company. Use UPACK instead. We thankfully hired them for our remaining items and they have been very straightforward and reliable so far.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3798

We were contacted by their salesman Tony P. while looking for long distance movers. He gave us a price we were happy with after my wife gave him a very detailed list of what needed to be moved. We agreed on $5300 and payed them $2500 up front. The day of the move the movers showed up and we went over everything and showed them we owed another $2800. They had the same number but had to call their boss before moving anything. Their boss proceeded to tell us he couldn’t do it unless we payed $5700 instead of the $2800. This put us in a terrible spot because they wouldn’t refund the $2500 and we had to be out of our house. We had no choice but to pay them. This tactic is something they do every time they show up to a house. The guys actually doing the moving were very polite and professional but they said their boss applies this tactic on every move.

To make matters worse it went from a delivery time of 5 to 10 days to now it’s been over a month and we still don’t have our stuff. This experience has been a nightmare and is far from over. There’s no communication and we don’t know what to do other than contact the police.

I didn’t do my due diligence and my family and I are paying the price. The 5 star reviews are clearly faked, including the staged pictures. Don’t make the mistake we made. If you speak to Tony P just know he’s a conman. Their frauds and will take advantage of anyone they can. Stay Away!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! This has been the worst experience of my life. First off, I signed a contract and hired Southern Guarantee. I was never told this, but they subcontract your move out to different moving companies. They aren’t even an actual moving company, they just broker your move. I got a call a few days before pick up from a completely different company, which was confusing. I hired Southern Guarantee, which was a 4.5 star company at the time, and was given movers for a 1 star company. Let me tell you, the 1 star is completely deserved. Southern Guarantee quoted me based off of my exact inventory. The movers showed up and the day of charged me an arm and a leg more, literally $1,000 more. Southern Guarantee can say what they want, but they purposely quote people a smaller amount to get the sell and then jack up the price the day of to get more money. It’s a common shady tactic. Apart from the price, I paid $65 extra for a box to move my 65” tv in. They show up the day off without the box, but would not deduct the price. I was robbed of $65 for a service never provided. The movers packed the tv with two of MY boxes. Moving on, Southern Guarantee quoted me a 1-2 week turn around time. The day of pick up they showed up and said actually, it could be up to 6-7 weeks. Are you sensing a pattern? They promise one thing and deliver something else completely.

When my things were finally delivered, 2 boxes of clothes were missing, the mattress was scuffed and smelled horrible because it was wrapped improperly, and an essential bracket for the bed frame was missing meaning I don’t even have a bed to sleep in. I have been robbed of $1,000 extra than what I was told, $65 for a service never received, 2 boxes of clothes, a bed frame and a mattress. The company has been radio silent to my complaints, so we may just have to head to small claims court. This company is beyond shady and doesn’t care about quality at all. WHATEVER YOU DO, HIRE SOMEONE ELSE.
