We looked around for a mover and when I spoke to Jeff he was very pleasant and easy to talk with. He was able to quote me right away and set up the time for Sept 28th. He called me Friday and said that they were able to come earlier and asked if I was okay with that. Saturday morning and Josh and Jacob showed up right on time. Josh quickly assessed how the move would go and everything went according to plan. Both of them were absolute pros and knew exactly what they were doing. Both of them were very nice to talk with and a pleasure to work with. A great team and very personable

people to deal with. Would recommend Jeff and his crew very highly. If you are looking for a high quality company to work with this is the one!!!! Well done!!!

Poor Service.

Friends, family members, coworkers, friends of friends..anybody really..if you are ever moving and hiring movers, NEVER use Smart Moving & Storage. I have had the absolute worst experience. To start they were 5 hours late for pickup, then no delivery until the next day, which wasn't talked about until they had the truck half loaded and they decide to inform me they have to finish up somewhere else before leaving for Fredericton. Tells me he would deliver before noon the next day, however I didn't hear from him until I called him at 11:30. Sure, sure I know Arthur's (post tropical storm) been bad, but some honesty would have been nice. Then finally he calls to tell me he will be here to deliver in 45 minutes..2 hours later they finally show up!! Then tells me he expects cash up front before they unload (we had already discussed I would pay with a credit card)..I can understand wanting payment however they should have informed me they want cash before hand..a bank will only let you take out so much! And now they're complaining cause it's dark..well of course it is..THE POWER IS OUT!! Their customer service SUCKS..probably the worst I've ever experienced, and they are super unorganized!! Please share and let people know to not use them!!

I required a removal and storage for two months then delivery to our new home. Jeff and his team were very accommodating and professional even working within a flexible schedule in case of any issues of which there were several ranging from an issue with our closing date time and a piece of furniture that would not fit, Jeff and his team removed our stress and cheerfully accepted a solution which required another small trip. Regarding the handling of our possessions all I can say is they are top notch and I highly recommend.

Wow. Amazing service from this company! Although my move was not huge is was a delicate piece that required experience. The guys were professional, fast and efficient and courteous. The piano was well protected and they protected the floors. They were a bit later than expected but they kept in touch to keep me informed. We just recently moved within NB. The Crew were amazing. Such hard working Boys! They didn't have the size truck we needed but by Mid afternoon the Owner brought us a huge truck and our move was seamless! Highly recommend Smart Movers. We used a large company last time (Kings) and they literally broke half of our contents. Nothing was broken this time.

Long-distance move from Quebec to Prince Edward Island

From Montreal to P.E.I.

I was a little stressed about getting my items from Montreal to an out- of -the -way place in Prince Edward Island , But Jeff, the owner, was approachable and reassuring, knew the area , and sure enough, the pick up and delivery were fllawless. I called for pick up of my tax exempt furniture. Although they didn’t have the availability at first, Jeff called me back as soon as he heard he could make my delivery work within my tight schedule. I received my furniture the same day, no issues. Very communicative and accommodating! I’ll be calling again for future moves :)

Extremely pleased with my full-service move from Nova Scotia to Ontario; including vehicle shipment. Smart Movers - very well organized with impressive time management. Punctual, very polite, and kept me updated while my belongings were in transit. The movers brought all the necessary packing supplies, including boxes. Every item was packed carefully. All the furniture wrapped and protected. Upon delivery, all the furniture and boxes were placed in designated rooms. Vehicle was delivered without a scratch.The movers took care of absolutely everyting. Excellent communication from start to finish. Jeff and his team have an outstanding customer service! Pretty good moving company.

Sorry for my English. When I call a truck to move my furniture. My friends are telling me that you only can call some pick-up trucks to help you move the stuff in the area. But when the truck coming, they all shocked, it is a real cargo truck. It is hard to move heavy things from the third-floor of an apartment to fourth-floor of another apartment and both buildings without elevators. However, the gentlemen of Smart Movers did it! I had a really good experience moving my furniture and the price is good. Thanks again Smart Moving and Storage!

Long-distance move from Nova Scotia to Quebec

Slow, sloppy, and uncommunicative.

I'll give a break down of how I cam to this rating.

Let's start with 3 stars, as an average score.

-1 Star: Uncommunicative and terse emails

-1 Star: Delivering my shipment 3 days later than the promised time frame

-1 Star: Losing the inventory and not having proper record of which things belonged to my shipment

-1 Star: delivering to me an item that belonged to someone else

-1 Star: Damaging Furniture and boxes

-1 Star Promising to repair said furniture, stretching it out for a month, and then not following through.

So that leaves them with a final score of negative 3 stars.

Here is the longer version: I hired them to for my move from Nova Scotia to Quebec. They picked my things up on time, and I did not here from them afterwards. As the time frame for delivery approached, a week or two later, I sent them an email asking if they had an ETA, the response to which was a single line of text stating that it would be not arriving in the original frame due to unforeseen circumstances.

When my things eventually arrived, I was given an inventory sheet by the movers which was obviously a sloppy recreation of the original – it did not have all of my items marked on it, many of them without numbers or descriptions. It even had an item on it that did not belong to me. There was damage done to a few of my items. My spinning wheel was in pieces, and the damage it received was obviously done after it had for some reason been removed from the shipping blankets that they originally put it in. A plastic Tote was broken apart in one of it's corners, and a cardboard box had a large hole in it – when I unpacked the box, I found a rock in the bottom of it (the same size as the hole).

I called up the owner of the business, Jeff Smith, in regards to the damage and he could not speak to me without yelling and talking over me. He stepped away from the phone at one point to yell abusively at someone else in his office as well.

After being on the phone with him for an hour, he agreed to have my spinning wheel repaired, telling me that he could pick it up from me soon and ship it to the person that knew how to repair it. A week later, he told me that he would pick it up at the end of the month (2 1/2 weeks away) when the end of the month was approaching, I sent him an email asking him for an ETA and he did not respond. Three more weeks later, I get a phone call out of the blue – more than a month since I last heard from anyone at this company - at 9:00PM on a weekday, from a truck driver telling me that he'd be at y place within an hour to pick up the spinning wheel. At this point I had no trust or patience for these people left, so I told them that wasn't going to work. I sent another email to Jeff suggesting that he give me the money that he was going to pay the wood worker to repair the wheel, so that I can find someone nearby me to do the repairs, and he has not responded. week or two later, I sent them an email asking if they had an ETA, the response to which was a single line of text stating that it would be not arriving in the original frame due to unforeseen circumstances.

Owen, it was your job to have items securely packed and ready to go . YOU DIDN'T ! Items were moved at your own risk . The spinning wheel , which was old , very dry wood and very loose you were to have packed up . You didn't and it fell apart during the move . as for your other comments they are absolutely not true .

Prompt and insightful.

After a simple online search, I found Smart Moving and Storage and suggested them to my husband. He contacted them and decided to use them for our move. The planning was quite good seeing that they even called us the day before the move to confirm their coming. They came early and everything went on quite smoothly from there owing to their promptness, insight, and experience in the industry. Long-distance move from Montreal, QC to Shediac, NB

Moving from Quebec to New Brunswick.

I found the company on
MyMovingReviews.com and their top ratings made me approach them. They were highly professional throughout the otherwise quite stressful process of moving from one province to another. Communication with them was easy, their preliminary quote was exact, there were no unpleasant surprises, and the two movers were respectful and careful, and - as a bonus - had a great sense of humor. I highly recommend them.

Long Distance Movers.

My wife and I recently moved from SW Ontario to Nova Scotia. The 3 person crew from Smart Movers out of Fredricton. Jeff at the head office and the 3-person crew were excellent to work with. They worked fast and efficient. They were a tight crew that had been together for some time and obviously enjoyed their work. They were on-time at both ends and handle everything with care.
