I am still haunted by the traumatic ordeal I endured while moving with this company.

Despite their enticing marketing promises of 'Exceptional Service & Trustworthy Movers' and 'Cross-Country Moving Made Easy & Stress-Free, my experience was quite the contrary. Allow me to elaborate.

In December last year, we urgently needed to relocate our office from Austin to New York. Opting to utilize a brokerage service, I believed the extra cost would ensure a seamless moving process, especially since they assured me, they would handle everything diligently. I meticulously documented all our furniture, providing detailed lists and photographs to aid in their estimation process.

However, our troubles began when the initial price estimate was abruptly inflated due to an erroneous calculation on their part. Despite the mounting costs, we reluctantly agreed, assuming this adjustment would be the last. To compound matters, the brokerage company subcontracted a subpar and unprofessional moving firm, Barahonas Moving, to execute the relocation.

The moving team from Barahonas arrived significantly late and at the wrong location, immediately asserting that the square footage estimate provided by the brokers was inaccurate. Threatening to leave unless we paid an additional $3,000 (for a total of 15K), we felt coerced and betrayed. With limited options, we reluctantly acquiesced, hoping to salvage the situation.

The incompetence of the movers became increasingly apparent as they confessed to being mere drivers and not skilled professionals. Their work was lackadaisical and disorganized, lacking the necessary tools and expertise to disassemble and reassemble our furniture properly. Consequently, several items were damaged, soiled, and marred during transit. To add insult to injury, the movers callously disregarded our belongings and hastily left before completing a final inventory, leaving us with missing items and a tremendous sense of loss.

Attempting to file a claim for damages proved to be a bureaucratic nightmare, requiring an exorbitant amount of time for minimal reimbursement. This company's utter lack of professionalism, integrity, and respect for customers is utterly despicable. It pains me to recount this nightmarish experience and I hope you will not the same mistake as me.

Move size: Office Move Service cost: $15000

Horrific experience! During my initial sales conversations, I explicitly stated (on multiple occasions) that my belongings could not be delivered until 4/15 because we would be out of the country and the new residence would not be available until then. I even emailed them on 4/6 to provide an alternate contact number while I was away. The email explicitly said, "upcoming move scheduled for 4/15" and the agent kindly responded to clarify that I meant 4/15 as the arrival date for my delivery. I confirmed that yes, I meant 4/15 arrival date. Despite my efforts, Safeship attempted to deliver my belongings before 4/15. We are now being charged a $600 redelivery fee because of their error. I called their customer service department twice and, on both occasions, was told that my contract stated delivery could occur as early as 4/5. Basically, they called me (the customer) a liar! Why would I request my items to be delivered while I am out of the country and when the new residence was not available?!?!? Makes zero sense! They also threatened to keep my belongings if I did not pay the $600. I admit that my extreme anger came through during both conversations, but I do not take kindly to someone spouting contractual language at me as a way to legitimatize the $600, refusing to connect me to a manager, threatening to keep what is rightfully mine, and basically calling me a liar. Completely unacceptable! It's behavior like this that ruins companies' reputations. Time to shape up and make things right, Safeship!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6000

We hired Safe Ship Moving Services because they were a veteran run company. Unfortunately we did not realize they are only brokers. Our experience was terrible. They contacted 36 hurs before the move to confirm everything. Upon the review they raised thier price from $3,000 to over $9,000! This was a 525 square foot apartment, but we were locked in as the lease was up the day after the move.They contracted a fly by night moving company that that charged another $1,000 the day of the move! Then it took over 10 days to get our belongings....for a trip that was 390 miles! So we contacted Safe Ship customer service and they blew us off and told us to contact the moving company directly and told us to tell them how things worked out!!!! Unfortunatelty I can't give a zero star rating, but they sure deserve it! DO NOT BE TAKEN IN BY THIS BROKER!!!

Move size: Studio Service cost: $9800

We contracted for a move, when the "quality control" guy called days before the move he added $2000 to the price saying the rep that quoted it didn't allow enough space. Then when the movers showed up(2 days late) they got half of our stuff on the truck then held us up for $3200 more saying the truck wasn't big enough. (shouldn't be my problem) And we had sold stuff that was on the schedule to be moved (extra large sectional, dining table, barstools, treadmill etc.) but they said the truck wasn't big enough.

They are the professionals to figure out how much truck needed. they took off to get another truck and said they would be back in an hour, crickets chirping. We call them in the morning, they get irate with us and still no show. we finally had to leave the house open and leave to get the truck we were driving to the new house . then delivery promised the following Sunday. no show, then promised for the following Monday, no show. missed, promised, missed :truck broke down in Vegas, had to fly drivers in, had to fire the drivers......every excuse in the book . 3 weeks later we don't know where our furniture is. The rep for safe ship will not let me talk to a supervisor and does not return calls. we paid for crating of a glass table top, not done, they said everything wrapped in moving blankets, not done, they have a phone routing system that recognizes phone numbers and routes directly to the rep. so hard to circumvent.
