Spam Rude

Getting harassment from this company out of their Austin, Tex location. They won't stop calling me. The guy who works here hung up in my face. I've reported so many of their phone numbers from FL, TX, NY. I am not Philip. Obviously if someone doesn't get back to you, that doesn't mean you should call and text their phone every hour. It makes no sense.

Quoting

I was looking for a convenient to help me move from one state to another so I went online and found this one. They called me and I was looking for a quote didn’t want to settle anything quite yet. I’d like to see my options. I got on the phone with the guy he’s asking me normal questions. Everything‘s going fine and then OK. Thank you so much. Appreciate your time. I’ll get back to you on my options and then the guy starts full on questioning me on what I looking for and I was like not looking for anything besides a quote. I just like to have a view of all my options before I make one decision, and so he’s sitting there arguing with me saying that I’m avoiding the question and then keeps calling me babe which is so unprofessional in itself. Continues with me as I just try to calmly say I’m just looking for my options and then he ends up hanging up literally so unprofessional. Unfortunately I will never be using this company.

Horrible customer service

First they are a broker and will squeeze you to death financially. Original estimate was around 4k. Said 50 boxes should pack up a 3 bedroom house we asked if the size of box mattered. Was told no. Confirmation call 3 days before and we're told it was 50 medium boxes! I knew the cost was going to go up a bit because we did add some furniture. But 3k was ridiculous but at this point we were locked in the contract. Asked how to pay the movers when they arrived and was told cash, money order or cashier's check. Dealing with that amount of money I decided on a cashier's check as if it gets lost or stolen it can't be cashed by just anybody. When contacted by the movers I told them it was a cashier's check and they accepted that on pickup. But safe ship didn't change the size of the boxes in the inventory list so then the movers charged me an additional $850 dollars!!!!. They told me that when dealing with a broker to never tell them that you've added more stuff because none of that money goes to them and they have to do a visual and it will always be more than what they tell you anyway. The other problem I had is when the movers dropped off they wouldn't accept the cashier's check and I live in a rural area and getting to a bank I'd difficult and they wouldn't work with me. I was going off of what safe ship who I hired told me. The drivers were great it was the moving company itself. No actual communication between the broker "safe ship" and the actual movers. Horrible customer service. On top of that then safe ship continued to harass me about not having the correct form of payment days after e received our stuff. So they do not talk to the people they hire! Do not use a broker. Find a long distance move in your state for a visual quote you will pay less and the money goes to the actual laborer. Horrible horrible horrible!! 1000 times would not recommend this place!!!! If you read reviews on their site they must be fake because when I started looking on other websites like BBB they have horrible reviews!

Avoid this company - horrible experience

My friend and I hired Safe Ship Movers for an interstate move, lured by positive online reviews and competitive pricing. However, our experience turned into a nightmare. Initially quoted around $2,600, our estimate increased to ~$3,400 when we added some additional items. On moving day, the driver dramatically revised our estimated space from 1000 cubic feet to 900 cubic feet, resulting in an unexpected cost surge to $5,760, over $3,000 more than our initial quote. Astonishingly, despite their claim of needing more space, all our belongings fit comfortably into a 15-foot U-Haul truck, with extra room to spare, despite their initially exaggerated estimation. This misleading approach and unnecessary expenses made our experience incredibly stressful and frustrating. We're filing claims against Safe Ship and caution others to avoid their misleading practices for interstate moves. Avoid this company for interstate moves—had I known, I would've rented a U-Haul myself. BEWARE—NEVER USE THEM!!!

Profound Disappoinment

Our profound disappointment with Safe Ship compels us to strongly caution anyone considering them for their move. It's apparent that "Safe" Ship is anything but safe. What began as a search for a veteran-owned moving company swiftly spiraled into a web of deceit. Through misinformation, predatory marketing, and coercive tactics, Safe Ship convinced us to sign a sales contract, complete with a significant deposit that is non-refundable after three days.

Shannon Cregger, our supposed "agent," assured us that the delivery window would start from the date of pickup, both verbally and in writing through text messages. She even guided us in selecting the pickup date to align with the "first available drop-off date." This was THE sales point that sold us on their business as we strongly desired a specific date window.

However, on the pickup date, we were blindsided with the revelation that the delivery window actually begins from the "first available drop-off" date, directly contradicting Shannon's information. The shipper informed us there was a “Premium Guaranteed Service” we could purchase at $0.60 per mile which would have added at least $1,000 to our move. We immediately called Shannon who said she would get in contact with customer service. Trusting her to resolve the issue, we went ahead with the service so we could execute the move as planned. Later that day, when our movers were almost done, customer service again informed us our delivery date would be 5-14 days from the "first available drop-off" and again told us about the “Premium Guaranteed Service”. This felt like a bait-and-switch to us, so we’ve been trying to get Safe Ship to own up to their tactics. Shannon and Alissa, her manager's manager, are reiterating the 5–14-day delay from the "first available drop-off date" and insist that anything Shannon said is non-binding. They refuse to admit they are wrong and have even apologized for OUR misunderstanding, not the bait-and-switch.

Shannon's misinformation not only led to a substantial contract with Safe Ship but this veteran-owned company has shown no willingness to assist our 100% disabled veteran family during this extended wait. Consequently, we've had to purchase essential items (pots, pans, dishes, winter clothes for our kids, blow-up mattresses, etc.) causing extra financial strain and emotional stress during our move. Efforts to resolve this issue have proved fruitless. Consequently, we are submitting this complaint in hopes that others see our story and choose not to conduct business with Safe Ship.

Very nice through the sales process

We reached out to safe ship for a cross country move and were in a unique situation where we were renting my mom's old place so it's all furnished. We struggled to decide whether to bring our furniture or not and when a friend offered to buy it we decided to sell it and use my mom's furniture. Safe ship gave us a great deal and then also put our move on hold once we started debating what to do, and when we had a confirmation and made our decision they quickly helped us out to cancel the hold and free up the date for someone.

In the process I spoke to Dan and Sammie and they were both really great! We ended up getting like 100 calls from different operators and safe ship felt the least chaotic and pressured.

Started at $6700 ended up over $24000

This is a veteran owned business. They NEVER once told me they were a broker until it came time to send in the movers, and again they never told me they were brokers I figured that out for myself. As far as I'm concerned they should be embarrassed the way they treated this DISABLED vet! SCAM ALL THE WAY!! Stay VERY clear of this company!!!

Lack of communication and not stress free

My experience with them has been extremely stressful. They are very resistent to committing to a delivery date. I am 2 days away from moving into my home and they will not get me an estimate delivery date. The trucking company they work with gives me a different duration than Safe ship had intially quoted. I called customer service and left multiple voicemails and they have not returned my call.

If you are military and looking for a stress free move this is not it

Steer absolutely clear of this company. They are liars. They quote you one price and when the movers actually come they double the price. They are zero help over the phone and have the WORST customer service known to man kind. They will hang up on you, they will bait and switch contracts to get more out of you. They will lie about delivery dates so they can hold onto your items longer. The company is a crock of shit. I have done cross country moves in the past and have never run into this issue before with moving through the military. Leslie Garcia is a pretty horrific manager to speak with and literally will not help you out whatsoever. She does not care one bit about customers. It’s evident that this is just a job to her and that customer service does not matter to her. How she got promoted I’m not sure because she lacks empathy for customers and their situations. People need to avoid this company like the plague. You will be hung up on, you will not get calls back, you will have notes written about you in your account that aren’t accurate. Leslie Garcia stated I was unwilling to increase my services yet I spent an additional $2k to get all my items. I would not have spent an additional $2k if I was not willing to work with the company or increase my services. When the moving company arrived to pick up my stuff they sat around outside for 30 minutes after showing up 2 hrs late outside my pickup window which was between 11am-3pm and they showed up around 5pm. This company sucks and gives zero craps about veterans or military personnel. Do NOT HIRE them for any of their services. I wish I would have read the Reddit threads that emphasize how much of a terrible company this is.

Horrible Company

I am currently in the process of moving with this company and it is already a horrible experience. The initial contact will be super nice and convincing that the move will be smooth and worry free. They will also be reassuring that the companies you had in mind, will never compare to their top notch service. Keep in mind, they will tell you to contact them at anytime for issues and we all know that’s a lie and I have been forwarded to customer service every time.

I paid for extra space because I was quoted 7700 and then right before pickup told if I don’t want to pay a higher rate for more space when they arrive, I need to buy it now. So I’m at a few dollars shy of 10k. The company brokered me out to as the actual movers have their own rules and apparently if they feel it’s too much of a liability or taking too long to disassemble, they leave it. My treadmill was left as well as a tv mount. Things that weren’t supposed to be shipped were loaded onto the truck and now I’m told I’m over the purchased space. If there are more than 7 stairs I will be charged more on drop off, 75 dollars if they have to climb stairs more than once. Need I go on. This entire process has been a nightmare and it’s not close to being over. I dread the drop off and fear the extra costs coming my way.

Not sure it’s different anywhere else but this company is a no go as a referral from me.
