The reason why I hired Route 66 is because they are the ones with the most trucks of their own. The biggest company should know what they are doing and will do things properly right? Well, they know what they are doing: they were fooling me!

They say they will use their trucks because they are a transporter and not a trader. That is a lie! Yes, they do have their trucks but there is NO GUARANTEE that they won't send someone else to do the job.

They say they are prepared so you don't get charged all kind of extra fees. FALSE! They don't follow-up on dates they schedule, they don't ask if your garage (building in Brickell) will have space for a 13ft high truck. So, that cost me an extra $200 on the day. Paid directly to the movers (who had absolutely nothing to do with Route 66). And I had to be happy, because the alternative would be to pay an extra $350, suggested by the companies Operations Director.

By the way, this Operations Director says "it's nobody's fault this happened!". The nerve! It was nobody's fault by I had to pay for it!

Then, of course, they don't deliver it in time. My furniture was supposed to arrive on a certain date but it arrived 5 days later. And I had to pay for an extra 4 days in a hotel.

But why did it get delayed? Because the hire a driver then smash everything into his truck and he starts traveling. He delivers stuff in Texas, Colorado, Arizona. Then the truck is kind of empty so he gets more contracts for California (hey, he is increasing his efficiency, that makes sense - but it consumes time). I called Customer Service and all they can say is "here is the driver's phone number, you should call him to confirm the delivery date". BUT I DIDN'T HIRE THAT DRIVER! I HIRED YOU GUYS!

This is what I learned: don't trust sales people that say everything will work perfectly and that their company will do everything and be responsible for everything. I had the opportunity to talk to another company and when I asked if they would use their own truck and driver to transport my stuff, the salesperson said "look, all transportation companies are also traders. A long distance move like yours will be put in a hired truck."

I wish I had hired them instead. Those were being honest.

One more thing: the salesperson at Route 66 is all available for us while you don't close. He simply stopped answering his phone when I called him because the problems started to appear! This is totally ridiculous!

THE. WORST. COMPANY. EVER. stay away. Will definitely be filing a complaint with DOT/FMCSA.

Let’s begin with the part where we were quoted $2700 for the move, but once the dudes came to pick up our packages they raised the price to $5700 prior to even walking into our apartment. Movers scratched the walls of the condo. No masks on. It took 3(!!!!) weeks to receive our things in Illinois (moving from miami) and every day unprofessional customer service representatives were giving me a new time frame of arrival coming up with new reasons why it is taking so long. The final version was - the driver had COVID. So, once the driver arrived I wondered how he’s feeling after his disease, turns out he was never sick. Don’t believe any of the good reviews, they are most likely bots.

The boxes arrived broken with damaged items inside. No one puts furniture where it belongs cause they are charging $75 per flight of stairs. No way our stuff took 900 sq ft as charged per these scammers. A nightmare of a company to work with. Save your money and nerves and TIME, seek elsewhere.

How a company like this can be in business or not be illegal is beyond words, they clearly pay for fake reviews. They were and continue to be the most unprofessional, unethical and dishonest company that I have ever dealt with in my personal and professional life.

The nightmare began when their quoted move price doubled the day they arrived (which was the day before we left & a day later than they said). They then kept my items in Florida for 3 weeks, even though every step of the way I was assured my items would arrive in Wisconsin just a few days later, no more than 4.

During those 3 weeks, no-one would give me a status or eta of my items. I had to use a government contact to get a direct phone number to the warehouse hardline to get someone in dispatch and get any real information.

False Points:

1. They subcontract every step. I have dealt with Route 66, Jacobs Movers and I don't recall the name of the delivery company.

2. Anytime you call them, you will sit on hold for at least 15mins with the same bad song on repeat.

3. The "friendly" person you sign up with, will never answer your calls again.

4. They will not answer emails.

5. They will 100% hold your possessions hostage.

6. No notice of arrival, actually told me that they say 24hrs but don't even try.

Please do not be fooled by the positive reviews, I was, this is not a good company. I will be leaving a review everywhere possible to hopefully help people not be taken advantage of, to not be treated as I was.

Stay Away!!!! I initially paid a deposit of $3,839.17 for a move from Virginia to Florida. The total cost of the move would have been $13K. A driver showed up to my home on Sunday looked at everything that their company needed to pack, as I was paying for that service. 15 minutes later the driver left and would not move my household items. Route 66 was no where to found on a Sunday. We contracted Three Dave's Moving and these guys were great. Call Three Dave's Moving.

To date I have not received my deposit back. Everytime I call and eventually get a hold of someone I'm told it was my fault and a refund would not be given.
