RMC Movers

I used this company for my move and it was a disaster. The owner, Lamar Bankhead is a complete joke. They were an hour late and arrived with no moving truck, what Moving company arrives with no truck?? This hot head of an unprofessional, Lamar was a fast talker who prides himself on arriving late. He claims his motto is I may not be there on time but I will be there. (SMH...such ignorance)

The guys in the moving crew were actually cool but I felt sorry for them the way this piece of a joke ass Owner was screaming at them if they didn't wrap or move the items the way he wanted them to. (just sad) This screaming maniac tried to overcharge me and make me pay for the hour he was late including the lunch hour that they took when they stopped off in between my old place to my new one. He changed the original price and then got mad when I wanted clarity on how he arrived at the pricing, this fool actually banged his hand on my glass side table. He stormed out and I called the police because I had no idea what this raging maniac would do next. When my guy friend made it over here to discuss the payments and all that had transpired this fool sat on the public ground to discuss business. I ended up paying him (he didn't deserve a dime) but I wanted this fool out of my life. His poor grandmother Rose Marie Charles would be ashamed that she had a grandson that runs a business in this manner. Again, beware and do your homework, I was in a rush and went with the first movers that came up on google but had I read these reviews first I would have run the other way.

Not Everybody who has a Business knows how to properly run one.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $800

We moved a cross town move at the end of May. We chose RMC based on their good reviews. Lamar came out to do an assesment and "sold" us on how fast,professional and different his company is different from other movers. So we signed the contract confident that if their were any issues during or after the move that he would stand by his work. I cannot give a bad review for the move itself which was fast and efficient but what I cannot give a good review for is RMC standing by their work after the fact. Although we did not take out the optional insurance, Lamar told us the move quote came with $300.00 insurance. After the  move was done we found out our microwave door would not close and later we found out washing machine knob got broken  and our sofa recliner arm was broken. The next day we called Lamar and told him about the microwave being broken which he denied any responsibility for he or his crew but the microwave was not broken before the move and we never touched it so I guess it broke itself? When we called he acted like he didn't recall us or our move (what? 1 day after the move?) and then told us to take the microwave get an estimate and try to prove how it got broken. In other words giving us the runaround he wouldn't even schedule a time to even come see the microwave and discuss. So, in summary I was happy with the move itself but not with RMC 's after the move professinalism. Hence, if you chose RMC MAKE SURE you get the insurance or move at your own risk!

I did not have this company move me, but I did have this company's truck nearly crush my car with my family inside on I-285 & Lavista Rd at 4:30pm on 11/9/13.  After this truck made a sharp cut across 3 lanes to make the Exit last minute, causing me to have to make a very hard break to avoid ending up under it's tires, I hit my horn out of shock and surprise.  The "friendly" crew inside this truck responded to their idiocy and near-serious accident by flipping the middle finger out of the truck to me as if I had inconvenience them by maintaining a lane and steady speed in an area where they needed their truck to be in a last-second decision to exit. Immediately after this incident, I snapped this included picture of the truck. Sadly I was not able to get a look or photo of the driver or crew member who shared his thoughts via finger at me. I don't care how many "stars" or good "reviews" are supposedly given by this company.  The fact that they put my and my family's lives in danger with their reckless driving and then displayed disgusting attitude afterwards means that I and everyone I know will never use this company.  Way to represent your company out in public, guys.

We had a need for loaders of our UHAUL truck.  Until we talked to RMC we did not realize that this service was available.  They were on time, on budget and the loaders were experienced.  They also kept the mood lite in a stressfull situation making the move that more enjoyable.   No one likes moving and they made a hard task very easy.  The lead man was remarkable in his leadership of the team.  You will not be dissapointed in your choice.  They are honest, on time and on dime.  The office staff also made it easy to do the contract although we had to change the date twice.  I have nothing but good things to say about this company.  Call them you will be surprised that this company puts the customer FIRST!

Little late on adding this (move was at the end of February), but I wanted to submit a review for RMC since they completely turned around my views of movers after my prior horrendous long distance move experience.  They worked with my tight schedule (pick up midday on Friday and deliver midday or later on Saturday), loaded and unloaded everything in record time (and they had 3 flights of stairs to go up on the unload with a distant service elevator for a few larger items), and nothing was damaged.  Everything was wrapped and loaded securely and there were no gotchas in the end when it came to cost or services performed.  Will definitely use them again on my next move and will recommend to anyone that asks me.  If you are wondering about the higher than usual cost compared to other reviews, my move was a 300mi round trip drive for them so it was considered a long distance move, which I expected, and they were very up front about that, even checked to see if it could be done at the local rates.

We had a great moving experience with Henry, Kevin and Ron. They were a little delayed due to circumstances out of their control at their prior job, but the company did a great job updating us on the delays. They arrived ready to work, with great attitudes, and were very efficient. Their rates are very affordable. Carol (office manager) and Lamar (owner) were great at helping us to arrange everything. We will definitely use them for our future needs, and highly recommend them to anyone in need of assistance.

I recently moved from Georgia to Kentucky. After getting a number of estimates from moving companies to load and unload as well as drive and provide the truck for about $4500 I decided to explore a different way.  I rented a truck from Penske, getting 20% off through online and AAA discounts. Very pleased with the truck It was 26 feet, you can really put a huge amount of stuff in there, and it cost about $350 for Friday to Monday.  The diesel cost wasn't as bad as I feared, about $250 for 370 miles.  I purchased some used boxes for $45 from Craig's list and other websites and decided to get quotes on a crew just to load the truck in Atlanta. I had a crew in Kentucky. RMC Movers was the company I chose in Atlanta and am I Glad I Did! The people there were so helpful and  the three guys doing the loading impressed everyone.  They never stopped and everything seems to have come out unbroken.  Since this was a divorce situation, things were a little tense but these guys weren't fazed and their good cheer probably helped defuse the tension somewhat.  I only had one problem and that was a misunderstanding on my part regarding who was to provide packing blankets.  Five Penske locations were unable to accommodate my last minute need for 60 blankets and I had to spend a couple of hours tracking them down and finally found them at a U Haul location.  Carol at RMC was really trying to help me find blankets, she was terrific from beginning to end. All this while I was paying three movers $85 an hour!  I was told by my friends the movers never stopped while waiting, they loaded boxes, brought items downstairs and out the door, took down the bed, everything they could and the whole thing hours about 5 hours.  All told I spent $45 on boxes, about $600 on the truck and gas, $50 dollars to rent 60 packing blankets, $850 on loaders and unloaders. I had enough money to take my friends who helped with packing and driving the truck out to eat a fine meal, pay for two hotel rooms and still came in at about half the cost of the full moving estimates.  Good luck to all of you facing a move and find what works for your situation.

Moving is pretty much like buying a new car. We all dread that moment. However in this case after the first call to the company everything was explained in great detail. Great rates and the professionalism was top notch. They wrapped my furniture in padding including shrink wrap. They protected my expensive TV'S. They also took apart the furniture and put everything back in place in an orderly fashion. They even put together one heck of a beast of a platform King size bed made out of pure oak which had over 30 screws for each side. This bed would have made any moving company run for cover. They handled it with care and patience. This was one of the best moving companies I have ever dealt with . I would highly recommend them to do any job. Three men did our move and each one pulled their weight. The job was 3 hours long due to this beast of a bed. they went over the 3 hours and charged us just the 3 hour rate. RMC you are a true Life saver. The move was performed on the 21st of July at approximately 9:00am and completed 3 hours later.

I must say that I was truly surprised by my experience. RMC Movers has offered me the BEST service at a reasonable price. They were so flexible that they even accepted my move THE DAY OF! That's right, the previous moving company never showed up or even called! With only 30 minutes notice, RMC Movers showed up and made short work of my tumultuous move. Professional, upbeat, skilled, and careful. I have already decided to go with them for my next move and so has a friend.

RMC Movers did a fantastic job with my move.  Kevin Bankhead and his crew showed up very promptly, and each and every one was very personable and diligent!  The move took almost 9 hours, and they worked around the clock without a single complaint.  In fact, they barely took any breaks and still managed to keep a positive upbeat attitude throughout the day.  On top of all of this, they were very competitively priced compared to the other 4 companies I called.  I highly recommend this company for any move - they will exceed your expectations!!

All in all, we had a great experience. Our pick up time changed three times, but we received phone calls with updates as they occurred. They picked up on the scheduled day and delivered the next day, as promised. They loaded and unloaded quickly without any damage or loss. The only thing keeping me from a 5 star was that our load up crew in Georgia was a little gruff with my daughter and were using inappropriate language in front of our three year old granddaughter. The unload crew in Ohio was more polite and professional. Because of the behavior during pick up, we were nervous for the next day. Thankfully, the anxiety was unecessary. I would recommend RMC to friends and family. The owner was a gem to work with and Carol in the office was a delight. The estimate was higher than others we received, but I believe quality is worth a little extra cost. Thanks to the RMC Movers crew in both states for helping to make our relocation a success.

RMC movers was recommended to me through a friend. Since I didn't know any other movers to use, I chose to use them and hope that they would provide professional service. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived with 2 large moving trucks and 6 men. They carefully wrapped each piece of furniture before loading it on the truck. The men worked very hard and took great pride in placing items in the correct room in my new home. One of the workmen in particular, Brandon Upshaw, worked extremely hard and used his own personal strength to lift many heavy objects single handedly. We would highly recommend this comany to anyone looking for a competent, cordial, professional group of movers.

Bankhead, Douglas, Jason, and Barnes made our move worry free!  This was our 2nd move in 3 weeks and our 1st experience with a DIFFERENT company was a nightmare!!  Oh how we wished we had found these guys then.  These 4 guys were very professional and knowlegeable.  We moved into our new home on a rainy & cool  Saturday but that didn't slow them down one bit.  They were extremely careful with everything and so polite.  I highly recommend them and will definitely refer them to all of our friends. .

I'm a little behind on posting my move reviews but wanted to make sure I gave RMC Movers the credit they deserve. I was recently transferred across country for work and was so worried about picking the right mover. I've heard so many nightmare stories from friends and on TV about bait and switch tactics, lost shipments, long delays, etc., that I wanted to take extra time to pick my relo company. I had a hard start date for my new position and lots of other things to plan so suffering through a long drawn out move would not work for us.
However, what I didn't realize before this process started is that delivery time given by most movers is approximate..a "window" that can vary a week or two even longer especially when going across country. Again, I couldn't be in limbo for 2 weeks and didn't want my stuff loaded on and off trailers or stored in distribution hubs. I've moved enough to know every time you move/transfer items you risk damage or loss. That's why when I finally found RMC online and talked to Lamar and then Roz, I felt so much better. They answered all my questions, gave me an exact start date and delivery date during the first meeting!
So..no surprise that I was thrilled when the team only took 1-1/2 days to pack up my entire house and then..get this..only 2 days to deliver. Amazing. Thanks, Lou and Drew! They finished loading up on Thursday afternoon and were unloading/unpacking Sunday morning. Unreal.
As you probably gathered I highly recommend RMC Movers. I really liked working with Roz, she's on it. Lou and Drew were unbelievably fast and good guys. Lamar did everything he said he would do and more. They have my next move, if they want to tackle an incredibly steep hill again.

I recently hired RMC Movers for a move and was very impressed from the moment I called and spoke to Lamar Bankhead, until the moving team finished up the job and wished us well in our new home.  Moving is a stressful event and from the moment the team arrived at our door, we knew we were in great hands.  We were blessed to have Derrick, Kevin, Stanley, Marcus and Brandon on our move.  These guys worked non-stop for 9 hours.  They carefully wrapped everything, moved items quickly and professionally and did not break a thing.  The one time a wall was minorly nicked (and I mean minorly), we were told immediately.  These guys were professional, hard working, moving experts (I am still baffled on how they got some of these pieces moved), fun to be around and full of integrity.  We prayed long and hard before this move and we were very blessed to work with Lamar Bankhead and his team.  Thank you Lamar, Derrick, Kevin, Stanley, Marcus and Brandon, you truely made this moving experience a great one.  We will be back :-)  .

What a great experience I had with moving since I was a bit nervous doing it for myself after my company had moved me to Georgia. This company was fantastic from my first connection with management to setup my appointment with Tracy putting my mind at easy and explaining to me their process. The guys that were sent were very professional explaining to me what they were going to get done and things that I need to know before they started. They moved fast I was very impressed since we were on the third floor and I had a lot of stuff. What I liked most is that they were problem solvers when we had a minor issue to resolve with my 60" Flat TV. They made recommendations and ensured that I was comfortable with it to ensure my things were safe. Because I had a lot of stuff and moving to a 3rd floor also they called in another guy to help offload to help minimize the time spent offloading. It was a gracious touch and truly appreciated. Tracy and the guys were the best with genuine hospitality with the customer top of mind. I would highly recommend them for any move. They were terrific!!  .

My experience with RMC Movers was absolutely excellent. I have moved 4 times in the last 4 years, using a mix of self-moves and moving companies, and RMC far surpassed all of my expectations. They were courteous and helpful; very diligent in their follow-ups and transparent with communication. Their prices were very competitive and fair.
My move consisted of packing, loading, in-transit storage, unloading, and I never once had any doubts or worries about anything. 
I would highly recommend them; they are definitely the best out there. In fact, I wish they had more locations around the nation, so I could use them again in Ohio! .

RMC movers did a very good job on my move.  They showed up ready to start the process.  They padded and wrapped my furniture promptly, and staged everything to be moved.  After loading it by size and shape, they hauled it to the new address.  When there, they moved the heavy furniture with relative ease up a flight of stairs, through a doorway, and above a countertop to the intended rooms.  The entire process was efficient and only required me to tell them which items to move, and at the destination, where the items went. When it came time to pay the bill, the labor time was rounded down by 15 minutes so it came out to an even hour value.  I was impressed by this. I only have two minor complaints.  They were a couple minutes late upon arrival, but once they were there, they started the job quickly.  A small amount of dirt was tracked onto the carpet, but outside the doorway was muddy, so this was understandable. .

I highly recommend RMC Movers.  My move was not without issues, but it was how the company took care of them that mattered to me.  They were honest, caring and went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied.  The three gentlemen moving our home did not stop the entire time!  I read so many reviews of three-men companies where one sat while one or two thers moved the items.  Not the case with RMC!!  I never felt I was being charged for time wasted.  These guys are the best!!  One of the movers we had even called later that night to make sure everything was as we wanted.  I have already recommended them to two friends and will continue to do so!  Thank you, RMC, for making our move so easy.

I was so glad that I chose RMC movers. They came on time, packed my things professionally and efficiently. They got to the new apartment before I did. I moved to the unit on the third floor but they did not complain about it and stayed professional the whole time. The mover in charge was very nice, he kept me entertained while waiting for them to pack my furnitures. At the new apartment, they unpacked all of my furnitures efficiently and my husband and I were very impressed by their work. I will definitely refer them to my friends!!
