RMC Movers

My experience with RMC Movers was exemplary. The owner took a great deal of time on the phone to discuss with me the move and costs, and was even willing to work with me to negotiate the price. The company contacted me three times prior to the move to confirm and discuss what would be moved.On the day of the move, the movers arrived early to the pick up location and worked diligently. They wrapped every piece of furniture and fragile item, and took their time transporting boxes to ensure that nothing was damaged. They even unmounted my TV and assisted with dropping some items off at the second location. At the second pick up location, the movers protected each piece of artwork in its own bubble wrapping and blanket. The following day, the movers met me in Atlanta on time and ready to deliver. They successfully moved all of our items to the new apartment and took their time moving items to where they belonged. Not one item was damaged or missing. My one concern was that the main mover was training other men during the move which made the time a little longer. This did not bother me, however, if you are in a time crunch I would specify either more men or all experienced men. Regardless, I am extremely happy with the move and would definitely recommend them to ANYONE. If we move again, we will definitely be hiring them and no one else. .

I called RMC on Tuesday and spoke with Lamar. I explained my situation to him and he understood the urgency to move ASAP. "He said, "Don't worry. I'll fit you in. We show up, we show out." First, Carol called me to confirm the move 2 days before. Nice! Lamar let me know early Saturday that they were actually able to come earlier than scheduled. Lewis, Ricardo, and Zack showed up and were very professional. Lewis went over all the important details. He was able to estimate how long the job would take and he and the crew worked efficiently and carefully (as if it were their belongings). They were friendly and took direction with patience did an outstanding job. I am VERY impressed! Keep up the great work. Special thanks to Lamar Bankhead for working with me on such short notice. It's rare for a service provider to promise a great service and actually deliver it. They did! I would use them again and I do recommend their service! Thanks RMC Movers.

We have used RMC Movers 3 times over the last 3 years. Each time, they did a fantastic job. They were on time and each and every person working on our move was professional, friendly and worked extremely hard. It was also apparent the team worked well together and respected their teammates. They were very careful with all of our belongings, taking measures to protect our furniture with moving blankets and various wraps. They were continuously working and only stopped for their lunch break. Their prices were fair and reasonable. Fantastic customer service when you call, the people who answer their phones are always nice and very thorough. I would highly recommend them and would use them again in the future!

Service cost: $1200

We used RMC Movers to pack and move in May and had a great experience. We did most of our packing ourselves, but left the most fragile things for them to pack and they did an excellent job - only a couple of things broke, which is excellent given the amount of stuff we had. The team on moving day (mostly a different team) was great as well. I specifically want to call out Tony Brown, the supervisor because he was on top of his team making sure they were moving as efficiently as possible.

Two notes - our move did take longer than the estimate and the quote included an exercise machine that we should have hired an expert to move.

I would use them again.

A few years back I decided I was fed up with the U-Haul, do-it-yourself type of moving experience and decided I would hire some guys to do it for me. I looked up reviews and found a RMC. Everything from booking the move through the entire experience was a breeze and I have since used them several more times to the same great success.

For my most recent move I got it in my head to call around and price check some different places, each business was more infuriating than the last. At least 2 businesses just answered the phone with a gruff "hello" or "yes,' leaving me confused as to whether I had even called a business or the wrong number. Dudes were rather short and rude when taking my details and each quoted me numbers that far exceeded RMC. One even wanted to charge is double for travel time, which would have been an additional $170 for a short drive down 285. I finally woke up and have RMC a call.

The women in the office that do the booking and confirmation are spectacular; nice, professional, and kind. I got 3 guys this time around for a lesser rate than any other business quoted me and a $55 charge for the travel distance (far less than $170!) As always, the guys were friendly and fast, moving things with ease while being careful with all of our things. We moved to the 4th floor at our new place, which was a lot of work for these guys on a hot July day but they got it done in amazing time.

I cannot recommend these guys enough. They take great care of you and your things while remaining courteous and professional the whole time. They're well worth the price and more!

From Lamar (owner) Carol , Roslyn (girls in office) Smith, Zack and the rest of the moving guys. Nothing but proffesional, helpful, and very nice team. To get things done! Very timely, fast and hard working people that you can trust and the best prices. I would have no problem using them again and again! I talk to a few company and wanted to do the move in two days because was in the metro Atlanta area to the Georgia Florida Borderline. Not RMC had five guys to move me out and two came down. All done in one day! You don't have to go with larger companies. In my opinion.. They are the BEST!! Don't forget to tip..guys work hard!

I attempted to do business with RMC earlier this year for a move to Florida. We talked for 2 weeks and I signed a contract. At the end everything feel apart, because of them being unreliable and changing payment at the last minute.

I wrote a complaint to BBB and they responded with a lot of hostility and lies. What I said I stand behind it, because I have no reason to make up false information on no company.

I can tell from the demeanor the person who responded was Rosilyn. She is very obnoxious to deal with. She is the one who instigated all the trouble. In her response she had the gall to evaluate my sanity. I am very much sane and honest, unlike her.

She is so evil she had the gall to respond stating GOD is going to do something to me. I think that is about as repulsive anyone can get. It confirm her evilness..this lady is evil to the core.

The reason I am responding is because Rosiln do not have the professionalism or competence to operate a lemon aid stand. She do not have the perception of trying to respect and satisfy the customers.

We had one agreement that I would pay when my things arrive in Florida. The company suddenly changed that and wanted a substantial deposit, which I agreed to pay. After that they wanted to deliver my property and be paid in full prior to unloading, which was a unreasonable and raised a red flag.

I was not going to put myself in the position for them to hold my property hostage or pay prior to setting up my furniture. The owner Lamar came to my house to give a quote. He is aware I have expensive, exquisite furniture and accessories . I am am not hurting for money. I would have paid, but they got to acting crazy.

They stressed me out , I have health issues and all the chaos was not worth it. I went to another company and that was the best thing I did. RMC delayed me 3 weeks on moving. I had to get another company and get scheduled. I had workers in place in Florida to help with unpacking and had to reschedule that.

Keep a back-up company if use these people.

This entire situation was with RMC was a nightmare.

Move size: 4+ Bedroom Home Service cost: $7200

**BEWARE** I scheduled a move with RMC movers last week as the closing on our house was moved up and we had only a few days to move out. I had heard many horror stories involving moving companies but against their better advice I hired RMC due to their great reviews. That was the worst decision I could have made throughout this whole process.

1. After a great conversation with Carol in the office, I was assured she would be sending experienced movers with over 11 years of experience after reading another review mentioning inexperienced movers. The contract stated that they would be supplying 3 movers and they brought 4 movers instead but the team leader (Lamar) was very clearly the only experienced mover on this job. One mover stated that he had never even worked on a moving job before so the team leader was training him which slowed down the process and cost me more $$. The 2 other movers also did not seem experienced as the team leader kept yelling at them for wrapping furniture incorrectly which again ended up costing me more time and MORE $$ in redo work. The team leader mentioned that he had to bring a Uhaul truck since his other crew had the company truck on another job, I can only believe that this is the experienced crew that I was promised. If I knew I would not be getting the experienced crew, I would have NEVER chosen this company.

2. Inexperienced movers also led to broken furniture. Even more than the broken furniture was the general apathy towards my broken furniture. At one point, I noticed that the team leader had taken out glue and tried to glue a leg back to the dining room table without even consulting with me first!! When I asked what he was doing, I was told that the leg had came apart as if it was simply unscrewed but upon further inspection it was very clearly broken by his guys. He jokingly mentioned that he was not going to say anything to me at first and hoped that I would not notice. How would I not notice MY broken table?!?! He kept mentioning that it’s not that bad and no one is going to look under the table to notice a broken table leg. He assured me that I would not even notice after it was glued back together. From the picture attached, anyone would be able to notice this broken table leg. I was originally told that the furniture would be disassembled and then individually wrapped which would have made it easier and safer to transport this table. The team leader opted to not disassemble and advised me to spend an extra $40 on boxes to help keep the furniture safe which still lead to broken pieces. He kept mentioning that it is not that big of a deal and I did not buy the full coverage insurance (which costs an extra $300 dollars by the way). That is an absurd amount for insurance, I would rather have used that $300 towards buying a brand new table than towards insurance which is what I’m going to do anyways without having to go through the hassle of insurance. In addition to the broken table leg, the glass from our china cabinet was also broken but he offered $60 off of the cost to replace the broken glass. They also unscrewed the door of the dining room cabinet and then lost the screws. The team leader told me I can replace the screws and screw it back on myself.. isn’t that what I am paying you for! I am not naive enough to believe that during a move nothing will end up scratched or possibly even broken but customers are spending their hard earned money for EXPERIENCED movers to treat their belongings with care. At the whopping cost of $160 PER HOUR (way more than some other moving companies), I deserve experienced guys or I could have just hired several inexperienced guys myself to do the job for less than half of what I paid.

3. We requested one living room set, a dining set, 3 dressers, a table, 2 refrigerators, washer/dryer and absolutely NO boxes to be moved 8 minutes down the road. I was told this would not take long but this job took 6 HOURS AND cost ALMOST $1000 ($960 to be exact) which is absolutely egregious!! It took these guys over 4 hours just to wrap the furniture (again the team leader was the only experienced one and was wrapping very efficiently with nothing broken). It took the other 2 guys over an hour to do a shoddy job at wrapping just the dining room cabinet which still ended up broken.

Basically inexperience lead to a higher cost and broken furniture. We have moved all of the same furniture on our own before with nothing broken. As the saying goes, don’t expect others to care for your belongings as much as you. When our new home is ready I will most definitely NOT be giving RMC movers a call BUT LET THIS SERVE AS YOUR WARNING!!

RMC Movers are professional, polite, personable, prompt and provide all around excellent service. I could not have been more impressed with how they moved my three bedroom apartment furnishings: tons to move and they finished within an hour and a half. I highly recommend this business for all moving and relocation needs--you will find a great team of individuals who are sensitive about your property. None of my possessions were damaged. They are a really intelligent team, too: I needed my belongings packed into a storage unit and they skillfully and efficiently packed the unit. I could not have been happier with their services.

I contacted Lamar about scheduling a move from my home in Hiram, GA to a new home in Covington, GA.  We scheduled the move for Oct. 25, 2012 and with 4 guys to move me.  2 of the moving guys arrived at my home in Hiram early.  While waiting for the other 2 with the moving truck, I was called by Roslyn in RMC's office as well as the movers to let me know that they were held up in traffic and would be a little late. 
This is understandable since they were coming from Lawrenceville to Hiram during morning rush hour traffic.  They were constantly in communication with me until their arrival.  Once they arrived, they truly made up for any lost time.  The 4 guys were amazing - wrapping all of my furniture - carrying it down stairs and onto the truck.  They were methodical, respectful of my belongings, very very careful and organized.  I was truly amazed. 
Again at the unloading in Covington, they were again so organized, helpful and efficient.  They assembled my beds - put everything where I wanted, hooked up my washer and dryer.  I couldn't have asked for more helpful, nice guys. 
I am so pleased with RMC Movers.  I hope to not have to move again, BUT if I do - they will be the only ones that I call.  AND I highly recommend them to friends, family and anyone who wants a great job done, in an efficient and cost effective manner.

RMC Movers are the best moving company in Georgia. If you need it moved, don't bother calling around, just call Lamar @ RMC and you will get the best price. You can expect RMC Movers to be timely, quick and efficient. I have used RMC Movers several times for moves. Most recently, I had them come out and move a tenants belongings from my property onto the street. This was an eviction with the Sheriff present. The Sheriff's department only provides a two hour window for evictions and RMC Movers was up to the task. They showed up on time and quickly hauled the tenants belongings from the house to the curb. Having to evict a tenant is stressful enough, but I didn't have to worry about RMC Movers at all they have always been professional with every time I have used them. 24 hours after they moved the tenants belongings to the curb, RMC Movers was back and ready to work again on step two of the process, moving the unclaimed property from the street to the dump. It took two truck loads to restore the street to it's normal beauty. RMC Movers loaded everything up and even swept up afterwards, they mean it when they say they are proud of their work. The office was there to assist too, when the first dump said they were full up and couldn't take the load, the people at the offices of RMC Movers jumped into action and found another dump that was close and available. If I could add extra stars or maybe a ++ on this rating I would. I highly recommend RMC Movers and know they will always be my first call when I have moving needs.
