Long-distance move from Rancho Cordova, CA to Danville, VT

Pretty cool guy and easy move.

Finally, a moving company that simply gets you moved from one place to another, without any drama. They clearly state their prices set expectations upfront and then follow through. We moved my parents out of a large house, and they were courteous, careful, and had regard for all their personal belongings. They completed what should have been a 2-day move in one day.. great staff, coordinated, and considerate.

Do Not Use Razor Van Lines Pompano fl.

This company is absolutely horrible, will tell you what you want to hear to get your deposit then will not follow through with what was agreed upon and Brendan the sales rep who promised me everything would go smoothly was no where to be found, left several voice mails, emails has not returned any messages. Claimed phones were being fixed and this is why he wasn't reachable. I think they just take peoples deposits and don't deliver. Their customer service hung up when I asked to speak to a manager, called back again and had same horrible rude service, they never called the day before like they said they would do schedule the delivery then called the day of pickup just saying they could not pick up on the day agreed upon. I stressed when speaking to them that it had to be done on Wed. July 1st due to Covid restrictions on entering the complex, they promised me a truck was available and this would not be an issue. When they broke the contract by not showing up and I called for a credit on my deposit, they told me that wasn't an option and when asked to speak to a manager they told me a manager can't give me a credit either. So now I am working with my credit card company to dispute. The push for it to directly to come out of your checking account, I refused and I am glad I did. Their logo Stress Free is a big LIE. If you don't want a lot of hassles DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The moving companies they broker might be good but them as a broker company is absolutely horrible. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Long-distance move from Hamden, CT to Raleigh, NC

Do Not Trust. NOT A MOVER. only a Broker.

Any reviews that state this company is moving property is a lie. Razor is a broker company. All they do is coordinate your move with a carrier. Razor lures you in with competitive "guaranteed prices", waits 72 hours for your deposit to be non-refundable then they call you with a quality assurance call. This is where the contract is updated, service and fuel fees get added, and your origin/destination fees are arbitrarily increased. We saw a 1400 dollar increase(an 80% increase on the total agreed upon price) and an additional deposit of 500 dollars (total deposit of 1040) after one of these QA calls. They claimed the new measurement calculations increased our cubic footage by 100 (contract rate was $3.25 per cubic foot) but some how that leads to a $1400 increase. Customer service was rude, hung up on us, and the company refused to explain the calculations to us. All of this and when they finally provided us with the actual moving carrier that will take care of the physical move they gave us a company with some of the lowest star rating reviews I have ever seen. We ended up just forfeiting our deposit and canceling all reservations with both companies as it was not worth the risk of further dishonest buisness practices. If Thomas, Richard, Krystal, or Mya from Razor Van Lines contact you don't even give them the time of day.

Long-distance move from Connecticut to Arizona

Misleading Quotes.

We got a quote for our cross country move from United Van Lines only to discover that they had subcontracted to Razor Van lines.. who then subcontracted to Mirit Great American for the actual pickup and delivery. In the end, our items were delivered 3 weeks after we had been told, and charged $1,200 more than we had originally agreed for our small move (studio apt). Despite almost daily calls to the customer service department, and being put on hold for long periods of time, they never called back when they said they would or resolved the matter with any satisfaction. In short, we were bamboozled -- if not outright lied to. Terrible experience with untrustworthy people. Will NEVER use these companioning its again..

Long-distance move from Chicago, IL to New York, NY

Terrible company.

Absolutely terrible experience. When we initially booked, we asked if we could have our stuff dropped off on 8/1 and they said 'yes, we can do that and we will just have to pick up your stuff off on 7/27'. One week before our move we were told there would be a 10-14 day window so the earliest our stuff would get there would be 8/10. We were totally misled by them and no one cared that they were being misleading. They just pointed us to a vague term in the contract that basically said they could not guarantee a drop off date (so could be a year later by that logic). When we were on the phone with them to complain, they said that they're cancelling our move and not giving our money back. Please don't use this company.

They are best!

Razor Van Lines are different in nearly every aspect. For one, their speed is tremendous. Their moving speed is fast and so they are the ideal people to hire when you need things to be done faster. What’s more, these movers really know how to treat clients. The respect with which they handle people is so inspirational. I have grown to like them so much.

Long-distance move from New York to California

Razor has horrible service / they give false quotes.

They gave me an inaccurate quote and the day of move charged me double even though my inventory list was exactly as I told them. Proceeded to call the managers and they hung up on me. Both Beth Johnson and Shirley at Razor handled the situation poorly and were rude. The broker I worked with, Troy, gave me the original inaccurate quote even though I shared all the information of my move- number of items, bedrooms, boxes, etc. Troy rushed me into signing with them based off of a deal he could only give me that day which is totally bogus now that I know what kind of business they run. It's a total hustle and I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Razor Van Lines saved the day, seriously!

Three gentlemen managed to move 8 years’ worth of accumulated stuff from one awkward space to another at the speed of light. I was impressed with the care they took with my belongings and in moving stuff in to a bright and shiny new space. They helped me re-assemble my bed and dining room table all while smiling and seeming to enjoy themselves. I recommend them to anyone looking for quality service.

Scam.

I wish I would have read all of these reviews before speaking with "Brendan" at Razor Van Lines. They took my $1,100 deposit and I never heard from them again. Nobody ever called or showed up for the move. Once I realized I got scammed by them, I decided to cut my losses at that and rent my own uhaul to avoid inflated costs or any hostage taking of my personal property. They use bots on their website for fake reviews and I'm reasonably sure they are also using fake names when you speak to them via phone or email. I have numerous complaints filed with a few agencies and also a criminal complaint with the State of Florida against the owners of the LLC, Charles and Michael. I got the recommendation from Budget Van Lines, which appears to have 2 different websites. The real one and a fake one (budgetvanlines.com/999moving) which backdoors to the from the real website using a slash on a server hosted by Rackspace. Either Budget Van Lines is in on it or their servers and website have been hacked and compromised. I contacted them about it, but nobody I spoke to had any clue.

If I could give a ZERO stars I would..

If I could give a ZERO star rating, I would!! This has been the worst experience I have ever had moving (and I work for the government so I have had many experiences). PLEASE read this whole review so you don't have the same situation happen to you!! At first everything was going good.. I had a 30 day closing time frame, so reached out (through Angie's List) and Ryan from Razor called me almost immediately. He was very friendly and informative and was expressing how his company was one of the best. Unfortunately I fell for it. Communication was good up until 2 days before my move. The Thursday before my scheduled pickup I got a call, verifying the stuff I had to be picked up and made some adjustments (which almost doubled the price). I was told I would receive a call no later than the day before my "first" scheduled date (they give a 2 day window for the packing). The day before my "moving day" I still hadn't gotten a call. I sent emails but never heard anything back. On the Monday morning I called Ryan's number but he didn't return my call (and subsequent calls to his voice mail were stopped because his box was full - or he was blocking me). I then called the 888 number, after 50 minutes in the "queue" I finally spoke to someone and they said.."we have two days blocked for you so you will get a call later today." OK, so mid day I got a call from the "driver" saying he was running behind and needed a couple extra days for the pickup (he said he was still in CO on another job). I told him I didn't have a couple more days, I scheduled the move to coincide with my closing. He said "I will call my supervisor and they will get back to you". NOTHING..no call. By late afternoon I still hadn't heard anything so I called the 888 number. After 80 minutes in the queue, I spoke with Victoria, she was pleasant and said she might have a backup option and would call me back in the morning. Next morning..crickets..nothing. So I called again to the 888 number (after trying Ryan again and still full voicemail). After 45 minutes I spoke to another woman (I was so frustrated I didn't get her name). She said "in paragraph 14, it states that we aren't responsible for delays". She also stated "it isn't like we have trucks right here in our parking lot." I was basically told that the almost $3000 that I have pre-paid for this service was non-refundable because they are not responsible for the delays. I ended up having to rent a U-Haul, purchase a bunch of boxes and myself and my two 70+ y/o friends packed my condo and loaded it into the truck, so I could meet my obligation of being out of my home for the closing deadline. I did get a call from Victoria today (only because I sent a scathing email requesting a refund) and she basically said sorry, the delay was not our fault and we were willing to "reschedule" your packing/move but you chose not to accept a different date. Of course I didn't..I follow through with my obligations! How a company stays in business with this type of service I do not understand. Wait..I do..if they keep $2000-$3000 from every customer that they fail to provide a service for..that's a VERY nice business plan.

Long-distance move from Atlanta, GA to Bloomington, IN

Terrible experience - avoid this company.

They increased the price 3 days before the move date, arrived three days late to pick up our stuff. The people who picked up our things did a good job but that is all the positive feedback I have for this company. The truck then arrived again three days late on a Sunday. Only the driver and his son were there to deliver our things and the truck could not get near our property so the driver first suggested that we get a pick up truck from a neighbor or hire a uhaul and then take our things from the truck to our house ourselves (which would defeat the purpose of hiring movers). Otherwise, he said he would take our stuff away and we would have to pay for storage. Luckily we (my partner and I) found a way for him to get closer and he agreed to carry our stuff from a side street for an additional 100 USD. The worst part was that he was very rude while we were figuring everything out. He also was not careful with our things once he finally unloaded them. My recommendation for everyone is to avoid this company.

Deceptive Cancellation Policy -.

I wanted to move from Chicago to Aventura, Florida and I decided to go with Razor Van Lines to move all my household goods. After 24 hours I had to cancel the move. I inform Razor in writing immediately. I requested my money back on June 11, 2020 and until today I have not received my money. Customer service never picks up the phone. The experience trying to get my money back has been appalling. I have spent up to 48 minutes waiting for customer service. I have called more than 30 times and they always tell me that the delay is for the covi-19.I This looks like a scam. I paid $ 1,060 for not receiving anything. I want to let the naive know not to fall like me and never use RAZOR VAN LINES in their life.

This company is a complete SCAM!!

I Wish I could give this company negative stars. ABSOLUTELY horrible, I wish I would have read reviews prior to booking. This company scammed us out of $772 claiming that we needed to put down the deposit to book with them and we would only get the discount on the phone with her. After signing a contract that seemed legitimate, I started researching and saw all the reviews of this company being a complete scam. Luckily I was well with in their 72 hour cancellation period and I was able to have the lady add a no admin 10% fee they normally try to push on to the contract. So, I emailed their cancellation email and cancelled. The customer service emailed me stating that they could not stop the payment. I tried to have my bank stop the payment before they charged it but it didn't work they were still able to charge my debit card. That's when I started to call them only to get told over ten times that "yes I see you are going to get 100% refund" But its been TWO MONTHS! Still no refund and every time I call Im told that either the billing department only communicates via email. (which they have not replied since that first email) OR that the billing lady is out. etc. I've also been told three times that they will have the manager call me but never they never do. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID AND LOSE SO MUCH MONEY. I have reported to BBB and hopefully fingers cross they will help me get my money back. BTW they are not a moving company they only broker the move. But in my case they scammed me out of almost $800 for absolutely no services!!

Razor Van Lines is a SCAM. Do not trust the broker Andrew if you happen to find him on the other end of the line when you call to get a quote. I had to cancel my move due to the closing date changing on my new house. Lied about Estimate.

DON’T EVER USE THEM. I was quoted $8,758 for our move by Razor Van Lines. I was contacted a few days prior to our move (which was a month after signing with them) and was told immediately on the phone that I was misquoted on our estimate and it was actually going to cost us $18,500. I was so upset and lied to. They refused to refund our deposit. We were 3 days out on our move and after arguing for hours with them my husband agreed to the $18,500. We then received a phone call from a 3rd party moving company, and as we went through the items, then informed us that we would need to pay an additional $6,000 on top of the $18,000. Sickened by all the false information and lies, we cancelled. We did not get any of our money back and they laughed at me when I called to explain how upset we were with what had happened.

Very Unprofessional!

I don’t fault the customer service reps, they can’t help that they work for an unscrupulous company. I have never been more jerked around with any other company. I’ve had to call several times to verify when my things would be picked up to be shipped, my date was pushed back three different times. Now I’m being told that it will take up to 14 days for my things to be delivered. When I initially contracted with them, I was told that it would 3 to 5 days for my things to ship, then the driver who picked up my things said it would take 7 to 10 days to ship. I called Razor today and was informed that it would take up to 14 days for my things to be delivered. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told that supervisors don’t work over the weekend and I would have to call back on Monday. All I have to say is buyer beware, do your research. This company sucks!!

10% Cancellation fee after 1 hour!!

After a very high pressure sale to sign while on the phone. I called an hour later to cancel. No one returned my call, I email no one responded. I eventually found a cancellation email in my contract and they refunded me 90% of the amount as there was a 10% cancellation fee. They did not incur any fees.

The sales rep said I had 3 days to cancel he never mentioned a 10% processing fee. This is completely unacceptable.

Do not sign while on the phone. Read the fine print. Completely unprofessional and dishonest.

A broker only with no support.

I hired them for "white glove" service. I asked if they were a broker only, said no, I specifically wanted a firm that could be held responsible.

They are only a broker.

After agreeing, never was able to contact that person again, handed off to administrator with same phone #.

Finally on move day got someone new who said they were doing the move, no idea what "white glove" meant but they'd do their best. Packed and moved quite poorly.

Lost a box on the way.

Gave me someone else's box.

Told me to contact Razor Van Lines to submit a claim, 20 minute on hold get through to what clearly is a depressing loud call center and am told nope, they're not liable for anything, I must contact the folks who did the move.. that's not you? nope. So, runaround.

They're just a cheap broker. Do not use.

Avoid at all costs!

Razor Vane Lines is a moving broker, which means if you use them, the mover you get will be whoever randomly picks up the job. That's why there are so many bad experiences. As for me, I booked a move and cancelled immediately (less than one hour after) and they would not refund my deposit even though the rep on the line Pete Burks, assured me that my deposit would be refunded in full if I were to change my mind. Razor Van Lines uses really high pressure sales tactics to make you pay the deposit, including straight up lying to the customer. Please, please avoid them.

Warning.

Razor Van is not a moving company- Razor doesn’t have trucks, nor drivers or movers. It’s an operation that collects non-refundable deposits. They didn’t show up on the designated day and not on the next one. They didn’t bother responding to the Better Business Bureau’s inquiry. Our deposit was over $4K. Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Pittsburgh, PA

Do not use Razor Van.

Where to begin? This broker is either extremely unprofessional and/or corrupt. I am now up to wellover 50 phone calls (which quite often are 60 minute hold times (also 70/90 minutes at times). I have spoken with no less than 10 representatives, all who either mistakenly give me incorrect information and/or simply lie to me. To update my inventory, I had to call/email multiple times. I was then told an agent would call me at a specific time/day to review inventory - that call came over 40 minutes later and only

AFTER I had called to see what the delay was. I provided a more precise inventory, which never was conveyed to the movers, so on pickup day I was charged on the spot because the truck "didn't have enough space." Basically it was a shakedown because we had to vacate the apartment that day. When I called to get an estimated delivery date (56 minutes on hold), I was told someone would call back - no one did. When I called again, I was told the delivery would be the upcoming weekend; I had planned on being away so I had to reschedule my trip, only to sit home all weekend for nothing. I called back Monday - oh, it's coming today. Nope. Then I called again. It's coming Thursday. Nope. Since it was past 21 business days, I was entitled to a discount, and supposedly would get a call from the supervisor. Nope. Numerous emails to Lloyd and Michele completely ignored and unanswered. Calls to supervisor Vanessa resulted in promises of reimbursement that never materialized. Representatives like Drew, Hope, Karen Maze, Tiffany with promises of payment within 24-48 hours, promise to copy me on email to supervisor Maya, promises to follow up to make sure I received repayment (that's you, Karen - you gave me your "direct line" and I have called over TEN times and you never answer). Dispatch Benjamin who said he would help me since, when my delivery came and I said I was entitled to a reduction due to the delay, said he would help me get my refund.
