Run away from Purple Heart Moving Group.

I feel disgust dealing with Purple Heart Moving Group, their business is based on deceit.
Collin Williamson a Senior Moving Coordinator was extremely courteous, sounded very professional just to allure you to sign up for business with them.
Unfortunately, I took a bait.
He gave a very reasonable estimate of $2600 to move mostly my boxes from Pennsylvania to Seattle and assured me that this will be the final price for the inventory.
He made me pay $1200 deposit.
I diligently packed everything but when the movers came they charged me for exact same inventory $1700 more, which 65% over the biding agreement price.
I called back Purple Heart, however it was absolutely of no use.
Purple Heart Moving Group is broker company, a deposit goes to them, after that it's a wild west, movers ignored the deposit and charged you even more than the deposit with understanding that you are trapped, cannot change anything at the day of a move, exhausted from selling your house, etc.
If you want to feel being taken advantage off, lied to, humiliated - then go ahead and deal with Purple Heart.
Otherwise, go with the reputable company who would not lie to you with the estimate.
Do your research ahead of time, otherwise you will feel furious for days.

Rude & Unprepared.

Apparently this company will have a sales person call you after you've submitted an inventory and then askyou to repeat all of the information you've given them already.
Their website claims they can move you in 24 hours notice, but I was told "wow you aren't giving us much time" when I asked for a move in an week.
We are moving our office halfway across the country, and "Zach" was incredibly unprepared to speak with me, but also told me *I* was rude when he was trying to "help me".
By helping me, he must have meant wasting my time.
I hung up on him because I won't be treated that way within the first 2 minutes of speaking to a representative of the company.
I can only imagine how much worse it would be if this is how they're trying to get my business.
RUN AWAY.

Long-distance move from Orlando, FL to Clackamas, OR

Excellent movers.

Honestly, when we were looking for movers we were afraid that we would end up having to replace our furniture because our things were so heavy and our apartment was on the 3rd floor. When we reached out to Purple Heart they were on top of it and assured us they would find a way to make it work. I was so impressed with the customer service and the skill of their movers. The pricing fit right into our budget and I am so happy we didn’t have to replace anything.

Long-distance move from Minneota, MN to Springfield, MO

Definitely recommended.

The three guys that Purple Heart sent us showed up on time and immediately got started. I was so impressed with how fast they worked. They made sure to protect all of our items and we didn’t have a single issue with anything being bumped or broker. They did an excellent job with everything especially considering that our move was a number of states away. In the end they charged us a fair price and they were very good at that they do. Thank you very much. Definitely recommended.

Avoid Avoid - Read this before you book.

Dont be fooled by the good overall review, READ before you book them

My experience with purple heart have been really bad for the following reasons:
- They are not actually a moving company as they advertise, they are brokers, I could have booked with the US movers "which is the company that moved my stuff" directly and saved money.
- They will give you many false info before you book, once you book and pay, they know you can't cancel as you will lose money and it is too late to find a different company, they lied to me many times, and were rude about it
- When I booked, I was promised that they will confirm the pick up date a week before, they confirmed 24 hours before.
- they promised that my stuff will be delivered within 2-5 days window. my stuff were delivered 17 days late. I moved to a new city 6 hours driving from the original one not only they lied about it, they were very rude that it is in the contract that they can be up to 30 business day late.
- they estimate your cost depending on what you provide them, they calculate higher space for the boxes, etc to be on the safe side and they tell you that when we put the boxes in the truck we recalculate, that was a lie, they did not.

I would avoid them at all cost.

Do Not Use!!

Absolutely awful experience!! Initial agreement with Purple Heart for a long distance move from Michigan to NY. Purple Heart sub contract job with a third party mover. Third Party (Budget Moving & Storage, LLC - Rockville MD) arrived late (Sunday, June 23), subjected client to extreme duress during on site decisions before departing at midnight and compiled excessive up charges for 'additional' space. When asked when delivery would be, driver stated that his office would call. Move is 675 miles and at 9:30am the following day (6/24) driver called with update he would be at location that day (no way is this possible). It was communicated numerous times that delivery location was not available for three days after pick up (6/27). Budget MS LLC made decision without consultation to deliver items and store at own facility. This scam was planned the minute the movers left the initial driveway. Calls to Purple Heart and Budget MS LLC (a) unanswered or unreturned (b) given multiple stories on where exactly possessions were (c) full of lies and deceit with changing stories day to day. Eventually established a delivery date with additional $1200 for re-delivery and storage charges. When challenged with clarification on why to the additional charges, representative threatened to “turn truck around with your stuff.” Current goal to get our possessions back and then will file complaints with all moving, business and social media outlets. Both companies are practicing extortion practices from the minute a deposit is made. This scam was planned the minute the movers left the initial driveway.

Rip off!!

I called the Purple Heart Moving Group and spoke with one of their senior moving coordinators. I told him we needed a mover to pick-up our belongs from WA and ship them to IN. He asked for a list of the stuff that we wanted to move. I provided him with a list, but told him I was driving and wasn't at home so the list was an approximation.

He estimated it out to 500 cubic square feet and gave me a price for the total move. I was told to put $1,354.55 down, pay $900.00 when the movers arrived, and pay the rest upon delivery. When I got home, I called and told him it was closer to 800 cubic square feet. He said don't worry about.

The representative also said that our belongings would be delivered on the 8th, but if we needed storage that would be provided for 30 days at no cost. He said the movers would arrive on either 28th or the 29th of April.

I was called several days later and told the movers could deliver our belongs up to 21 days after the requested delivery date of May 8, 2019. I tried to cancel and asked for a refund, but a Purple Heart Moving Group's customer service repetitive assured me she would fix it. She switched movers and said our stuff would be delivered no later than 14 days after the requested delivery date. I still wasn't happy, but I agreed.

I was called several days later and was told that the movers would be at our home on April 29th between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. I was also told that they would call a half hour before they arrived. At 11:45 a.m. I still have not received a phone call so I called the Purple Heart Moving Group. A customer service repetitive, said that she would look into it and call me right back. A hour later, I called again and spoke with a different customer service manager. She too said she would look into it. I was finally told the pick-up would take place between 4 and 6 p.m. Again, I was not happy.

Finally after many phone calls, the movers showed up at 8 p.m. and wanted over $7,000.00 to complete the move. By this time it was too late to hire anyone else, or move the stuff myself. I had to hand over the keys the next morning at closing.

Finally, they dropped the price to $5000.00 flat rate (and wanted to $2,000 at pick-up) which is approximately $1200.00 more than the original quote. The movers didn't finish loading our belongings into the truck until almost 2 a.m. We ended up having complains logged against us by several neighbors for the noise.

What's ironic is the movers were able to pack all of our belongings in a 800 cubic square feet 16' long Budget rental truck. Which means that the 1,200 cubic square feet price of $5,100.00 was completely incorrect. I have copy of the Interstate Bill of Lading Contract and Order for Service which clearly states the total cubic square feet is 1,000 total cubic square feet. Therefore 1,000 cubic square feet times $4.25 (pleased see the original contract signed on April 23, 2019 which locked in a rate of $4.25) would only equal $4,250.00

The bottom-line is we were quoted $4.25 a cubic square feet. So even if our belongings totaled 820 cubic square feet. The total price should have been $3,485.00.

My advice is to stay away from this company.

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to Palm Springs, CA

Horrible!

Shame on me for not checking these reviews 1st.

When the moving company 1st came to move my furniture out of my house in CO, one mover showed with a guy who was from a day-hire company. He'd never moved before. He had to be instructed on each and every detail. He was not self regulating at all. There was so much to do, I ended up taking apart and wrapping my own stuff, and trying to get this new guy to help me. Finally I asked the main guy (Jessie) who was great, but didn't have appropriate help, if he couldn't call someone else in? He did this, and it took the guy 1.5 hours of bus rides to get there. Between the 4 of us, it still took 7 hours to do the job. Also, the price is over double what I was originally quoted. My stuff is supposed to show up in CA on Sat. I have been calling the "customer service" dept for 4 days, and no one returns my calls. I reached out to my main sales person, Josh, who said he would look into it, but silence there too. I've tried to ask for Michael Robinson, the QA manager, and apparently he's not involved after you sign the contract. Huh. QA they call it. They are telling me that the billing dept will reach out to me, but they can't give me a number or email address for them. They've lied throughout the process, and the "customer service" women are rude and defensive, although you've been put through all this crap. They don't understand or care. "You're not the only customer, ma'am" is the response I got after explaining being ignored and all the work I put into the move. And she rudely told me that for the amount of stuff I had, 2 movers should have been plenty, and I shouldn't have needed to help. We finished everything at 6 pm WITH my help, and I worked my butt off. Now they can't give me a delivery date, although I was told a date when Jessie 1st came. I have a job, and maybe can't take off on whatever date they choose to come.

This has been a very frustrating experience, and the staff at this company DO NOT CARE about you, your experience, or your things. I'm seriously feeling like I'm going to need a lawyer, because I have not trust for what's going to happen next.

Moving Review.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Worst experience ever. When they finally showed up (4 hours late), the movers said I needed to pay them an additional $1,000 in cash for them to move one bedroom. Not a one bedroom apartment, but one bedroom! This was after spending the day with multiple phone calls to customer service. I was hung up on, lied to, and eventually they wouldn't take my calls.

DON'T use this company. DON'T waste your time. It is a scam.

Scam.

Beware! This company is a scam. They will tell you they are movers and offer discounts based on Military and for paying CASH deposit. They are brokers who sell your move and change quotes and promises. We had a horrible experience with Purple Heart Movers and lost $1550.00.
They will tell you none of the negative reviews about them are real; so I will provide names, dates and a quote number as proof of interaction with this company. They have a system to scam. Please don't fall for it like we did. Check BBB, this company has a C- rating. Go past the 3 good reviews on Consumer Affairs to see the continued 1star reviews and scams.

Estimate Number CA2278923
On 8/15/19 Nick Didio told us PHMG was a moving company who would take care of our move from Houston to San Antonio. I am 7months pregnant; have a 2year old and a 4 year old. Nick spoke with myself and my husband taking full inventory of our home and what needed to be moved. He offered us a discount based on my late father-in-laws time in the services, as well as a discount to pay the deposit in CASH. A do NOT EXCEED move rate of $4900 was quoted with 1444 Cubic Feet listed on our quote and deemed by Nick as a large over estimation on his part with lower rates to happen on move day with his movers.
On 8/21 I called to confirm our promised pack date of 8/23 and move date of 8/24 with PHMG; only to learn customer service department was HORRIBLE and PHMG was NOT NOT NOT movers, but rather a BROKER company who sold our move to American Knight Movers. WE asked to cancel our move because Purple Heart was NOT moving us as promised. We were told we would loose our entire deposit. We spoke with Nick Didio again who reassured us once we spoke with Kevin in Quailty Assurance everything would work out and not to read reviews online because they are fake and put their by competitors.
I spoke with Kevin and went through my entire home with him again for inventory purposes. He said we had everything listed on inventory, but it had been entered incorrectly (like whicker furniture instead of patio furniture). He said it would take a while for him to correct the inventory list. Then we received a new quote from Nick saying our move would now cost $11275!! Kevin changed or Cubic feet from 1114 to 2362 with no additional furniture or boxes listed??
My husband lost his job when oil recession hit in 2016; we have been making it work ever since, decided to move back to San Antonio to have help with our 2 almost 3 children. There is NO way we could afford a move this expensive and never would have used this company had this number been presented as the beginning quote. Kristin and Mercedes in customer service refuse to refund the deposit and show no sympathy for the way this transaction was performed.
We had to cancel the move and PHMG refuses to give us the deposit back stating we are out of our 5 day cancel window. The loss of such a large sum of money for no services rendered has been a devastating blow to our family. Please beware. Follow your gut, do NOT trust people over the phone and do your due diligence. There are close to 90 complaints on BBB and this company has a C-rating. We trusted Nick and fell for this hook line and sinker.
