Do NOT use PODS!

It's been 16 days and still our POD has NOT been delivered, yet, payment in full was received BEFORE scheduling our delivery. Every day we call and are given a different story of why or where our POD is. We are in TX. We were told it was in San Antonio and this is where the original delivery would originate from (2.5 hours from our new home). When that delivery day came and went with no delivery of our POD, we called were told they were "trying to locate our POD." A few days later, we were informed it was located - in Pittsburgh, PA! Finally, we were told it would be delivered last night. This morning, NOTHING. We called, again and were told they could not "find our street." There was no phone call from the driver. We were then asked by PODS customer service to send us a "Pin Drop" in an email to them. A simple Google search of our address would have given both their driver and customer service the exact location. We then sent the email, called PODS Customer Service and told "it takes about an hour for emails to come through" so they STILL could not confirm if there would be a delivery. We were also told we would get a credit, but that has also been MIA...maybe it's with our POD.

Charges for unused services

We ordered a large pod we were told to pay 516.70 Dec 6th 2022 we did on January 2nd I reached out by email asking them to come get their pod no reply January 6th they tried withdrawal 269.70 from my bank which my bank blocked payment request. I talked with 2 different reps on January 7th 2023 1st one hung up on me when I said I'm not paying more money for a container I just paid 516 on then another agent got on threaten me if I didn't pay they take our stuff so I again told them come get your pod she continued to be rude and demanding payment for more money for something we didn't even use, the city we are moving to needs permits for this container so we request them to come get it and this is how they want to do business by threatening you if you don't give them more money well wrong person to threaten they will never get additional money from us that is a guarantee, and I reached out to the better business bureau and filed a complaint against them with detailed information of what we paid and emails request them to pick up their container along with the 2 agents conversation with me including them threaten me. If anything they owe us a refund I could have been as ignorant as them and said if you want to threaten me with taking our stuff you will never see that container again, but I didn't I'll use my attorneys if need be but the better business bureau is aware of this and now as well as the attorney General. You don't treat Customers this way and threatening me was their 1st mistake, don't use this company for anything you be better off using someone else,

Horrible experience

Do yourself a favor and heed all of the terrible reviews that you see. I thought it would be great to have a container delivered to my doorstep to pack at my leisure and have it driven across the country and I can unpack. I can't even get my stuff delivered now! So far I've been on the phone for hours trying to get this resolved. I have two containers, I called to schedule delivery from Washington to Texas everything was set up it seemed. I needed to pay $5851 for the move. They tried charging my card and it got declined, come to find out I have a $3,000 limit as they kept trying to charge different amounts until it finally went through for $3,000. I got an email at around 4 am saying that they were unable to charge my card and I needed to call them. I called customer service and spoke to a man who told me that I was still scheduled and that they'd auto charge me the next day for the balance. He confirmed the remainder due was $2851. This was on Nov 15. We had Thanksgiving and I went to log into PODS to make sure everything was moving as it should be and I couldn't even log in! It said my account was locked and I needed to call PODs. I called them, they said my account was in collections, after two transfers and 40 minutes, collections unlocked my account and told me that I didn't have a balance due but that I needed to contact customer service to have my containers scheduled for delivery. They'd removed everything from my account entirely. After waiting 20+ minutes for a supervisor I was told I'd receive a call back from a supervisor (still has yet to happen) but that they needed to schedule my containers for delivery, couldn't keep the original delivery dates and I needed to call collections back to pay the balance otherwise their system would try to charge me the full amount and not recognize the $3,000 that has already been paid. So I'm still waiting on my containers, still waiting to speak to a supervisor all for something THEIR REPRESENTATIVE told me would be a non issue.

Damage to driveway

Terrible experience with Pods. Their customer service is a joke. They damaged my driveway by gouging it out at multiple points and have made it practically impossible to file a claim. No email, can only call, but then there are long wait times, and I was also disconnected several times. Total frustration. Was told that I would receive a call back which never came, still they refuse to send a email. They probably don't want any documentation of their horrible service. Went through three agents after many hours on the phone but after all this they mixed up my claim with a different customer! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

Unsatisfied with PODS Moving and Storage.

Used PODS this spring because we were selling and buying a home and we needed to clear the house.  The POD was delivered, packed and picked up fine.  It came from Columbia SC and was being stored in Augusta GA because it was the closest to where we lived, (we never were given a choice of storage). Everything went fine for 3 months.  When we finally settled on our new home and was ready for the delivery of our POD we called and were told that they would not deliver it because of where we lived. Needless to say I was upset, now what do we do.  They said because it was coming from another state the closest place they could deliver it was Charleston. Smoaks (where we live) was not in there moving area.  So they would deliver it to Charleston and the PODS Co agreed to deliver it to us for a huge fee. They quoted us over $900 to deliver it to our house which was only 50 miles from charleston.  We couldn't believe it or afford it.  So we only had a few days before they would charge us for another month which was another $248 dollars so we had to find people to help us take our stuff out of the POD at the storage place in Augusta Ga real quick and load it onto a UHaul truck and bring it to our new home.  That was not what we were expecting when we signed with PODS.  So now we paid another $223 dollars to get our belongings because they would not deliver to our new place.
Be careful, we were never told the Insurance was tacked on every month only what it cost to have. Never did we dream we would not be able to have our things delivered or we would not have used them.  Did not know they had areas like that. We thought by using PODS it would make our move easy but it ended up making it a horendus move.  I will not recommend them to anyone nor ever use them again.  .

Do Not Use!

Please do yourself a favor and use anther company. This has been hands down the worst experience I've ever had with a business. Spent $1400 to have my stuff moved from Cave Creek to Gilbert. They picked up one POD and dropped it back off again at the house I moved out of. I'm still shaking my head at how dumb you must have to be to make that mistake. I've spent countless hours on the phone speaking with what seems like mindless robots that have one goal..to make sure nothing gets done to fix my issue. I filed an incident report on Wednesday and I'm still waiting for someone to get back to me five days later. Every time I call, the representative handling the report is on a break and won't return my calls.

I told myself I would never write a bad review. I usually just think it's for people that are impossible to please or just itching to complain about something. Thanks for motivating me to get over that issue PODS. If I can save one customer the headache of doing business with you, then this review had been a success. I really don't understand how you stay in business.

Beware of This Shady Company!!

I would HIGHLY encourage ANYONE that is going to be needing moving to under NO circumstances to use this company for your moving needs, as we are currently experiencing the worst moving nightmare ever. We purchased a home back in June and after reading the reviews we felt PODS would be our best option as once you can load it at your convenience. The way the company works is they charge you an initial POD monthly fee, ours was $274.64, this fee gives you usage of the Pod for one month. During this month you load the POD then call them or go online to schedule your Pod to be moved to your new location, then they charge you a fee to move the pod to your new location, our fee was $203.29 this includes fuel and the 44 mile drive. During this month rental of your Pod you have one month to load your POD, schedule a delivery date to your new home, unload the POD then schedule a date for the POD to be picked up and if you DO NOT have the POD removed off your property ( removal price was$89.99) during this initial month rental you will automatically be charged another months rental. This shouldn't be a big issue BUT unlike the TV commercials and online ads, unless you can schedule your final POD move 2-3 weeks in advance you are out of luck and will be charged another month, as PODS will ensure there are no available move dates until you have to pay for an extra month. We used this service to move our belongings out of our garage which took a 15 foot pod and everything went fairly fairly smooth with the exception of the difficulty of a Pod moving date. So we then had the POD moved back to our old residence to load the items out of our home, this is when things really went downhill fast. The Pod sat for two weeks empty at my new home because PODS didn't have an available date to move it, then on the day it was scheduled to be moved back to my old home to load again, the driver left me a voicemail stating he was picking the pod up from my new home. AFTER 4 pm that day I had no POD at my old house ( it had been scheduled from 12-4) so I called the driver back, he had taken my POD (that I had already been charged for) back to the POD storage place!! He did say he would go get it and after 5 minutes of explaining exactly where to put it, it was placed in the wrong place I was not home when it was delivered, this was July 5th, Ok accidents happen I thought so I disregarded this and focused on moving. I learned from the first move to call WAY in advance to schedule another move, so I immediately called PODS and was told July 16th was available so I booked it. On July 15th I noticed at 11 am $89.99 was taken out of my bank account, I did the online chat in an attempt to verify that my move was still on for the next day, which this rep stated a supervisor would email me an answer.. today is July 17th, still haven't heard anything from JOHN the supervisor. I then called PODS to see why this amount was charged as this was not the quoted price to have my fully loaded POD taken to my new home. I was told by a rude cust. serv. rep that this was the price for my FINAL PICKUP, I tried to explain to her that it was not final as it was loaded not empty, this entire conversation went nowhere except that I was not going to have my POD taken to my new location, I asked to be transferred o a supervisor only to be told by this rep, she had no supervisor, I told her unless she was the CEO that she did have a supervisor. After being on this call for over 40 minutes with this rep also having the gall to tell me I needed to be quiet and listen to her, she FINALLY transferred me to a manager named MIchelle. Michelle was very pleasant and genuinely wanted to help, but just like JOHN, she was going to call me back or email me , and I am still waiting for that email as well. Saturday morning came and I called PODS first thing and spoke to a very nice man named Max went above and beyond to try to get my POD moved to my new home, but he was told the problem was it would be a 44 mile drive for a drive. He eventually transferred me to a supervisor to discuss this mess with who also tried to help but couldn't he did offer a $50.00 credit to my account for this error,it has yet to show on my account so I am not going to hold my breath. He broke the news to me that my POD that was scheduled for July 16th, will now be delivered on the 19th. I have forgot to mention this pod has all my families clothes on it, stove, refrigerator, wash & dryer, all furniture, so we all have maybe 2 changes of clothes to our name until PODS decide to bring our POD to us. To put the icing on this cake, after all this mess yesterday the PODS driver called me from my old driveway where this POD full of my stuff is sitting telling me he is sitting in my old driveway looking at my POD wondering why it is full and has a lock on it, I proceeded to tell him about PODS negligence and that was why my POD was still there, he was beyond sympathetic and stated if they hadn't booked him until 5 he would have gladly drove my POD to me.During his and my conversation someone beeped in my phone and left a voicemail after hanging up with Dan the driver, I listened to a RUDE msg from a warehouse manager named BRIAN stating his driver was at my house and there was a lock on the pod and if I didn't call him back he was just going to take the POD to storage and I could have it moved from there!! SO .. as I sit in a lawn chair inside my new home with one of my two changes of clothes on, I am waiting to see if PODS decides to bring me their POD full of belongings as they scheduled. DId I mention that I had already paid a moving crew to unload my POD yesterday?? No refunds now I can either hire them again or hope like heck I can get it unloaded before I have to pay another months rent, I am POSITIVE PODS will not have an available date before Aug3rd though which is my deadline..I need to also mention I just looked at my PODS account and they also ILLEGALLY WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION used a Credit Card that IS NOT my primary card to pay for the move that is scheduled for this Tuesday! I used this CC one time to pay for a pick up I specifically told them then it was NOT to be used ANY other time! PODS took it upon themself to use this card again, I just hung up with a customer service rep named Mike that was in shock and even stated this was not right, but billing was not in until Monday and this would be something to discuss with them! I would also like to mention I have requested some form of compensation only to be told no one has the authority to do this. I truly just want to get this nightmare over with and never see or hear the word PODS again, Since PODS refuse to make THEIR wrongs right, I am making a copy of this post and will post it on EVERY review site I can possibly find as well as the BBB. This is one shady company that financially manipulates schedules and orders in order to line their pockets. And god forbid you have to speak with customer service, prepare yourself to be disrespected and you will end the call with no resolution, its PODS way or the highway, they know they are in control as they either have a POD full or your stuff or they make the schedule and tell you when they will get the POD off your property, sofinancially you are at their beck and cal. SO please please DO NOT become a victim of this companies shenanigans, and as I stated word of mouth is always best and If I can post this on every site possible I will in order to prevent anyone else from being screwed over!! After todays illegal use of a Credit Card, I will be seeking Legal advice and representation in this matter!

Long-distance move from Colorado to Florida

Long distance move and storage.

I recently used PODS moving and storage for a cross country move. I contacted PODS to set up the initial delivery of 2 large containers. The initial phone call to set this up took approximately an hour, that should've been my first warning. They informed me that I did NOT have to be present during the delivery of the empty pods. Due to their availability and my own prior agreements, I was not able to be present during delivery. That turned out to be bad. I was forced to leave an important work meeting to sign paperwork from the individual delivering the pods. If I did not leave my work meeting, they would not deliver the pods that I had already paid $450 for and it would take another 3-5 days before they could "re-deliver" the pods, that I already paid for. That was not an option. Therefore, I left my meeting. Upon arrival, the delivery man informed me to call and make an appointment immediately for my packed full pods to be picked up as it normally takes 3-5 days for them to be delivered and/or picked up. Knowing that we needed to be out of our house by a certain date, I did so. The first container was picked up as originally scheduled. The second container, however, seemed to "fall through the cracks." I called PODS to see why they had not picked up my 2nd container. They told me they did. I asked them how they could have picked it up since I was looking directly at it? 4 days later they finally picked up the additional container, ultimately 6 days later than originally scheduled. The containers spent 2 months in local state storage and after my husband and I decided that we should take a cross country job transfer, we had the containers shipped. It was $5500 to have the 2 pods shipped 2000 miles. Being that it was a job transfer, my husbands employer paid for the pods shipment. After spending an hour and a half on the phone with a PODS associate and my husbands boss, whom gave the payment, the pods delivery was set. It did take the PODS associate 6 times to put the credit card and billing information into the system correctly. PODS had assured me that the credit card information from my husbands boss would NOT stay on file and continue to get billed for monthly storage fees, although time would prove that they did keep that credit card information on file and the employers credit card was charged for a month of storage after the cross country move. Now that should've been another sign! The 2 containers did successfully get from Colorado to Florida!! That was a huge relief! The containers continued to stay in storage in Florida until my husband and I found a house, approximately 2 more months. When we found a house, I immediately called to set up a delivery. Of course I knew it would take a few days for delivery. I set up a date(1/8/16). Due to some hiccups with the home closure, I was forced to push back the date of delivery. Bummer! The day that I knew we were going to have to wait to move into our new house, I received an email from PODS stating that they were doing a website and system update/conversion and that no deliveries or pick ups could be scheduled or rescheduled! I of course panicked. I called their customer service line and was able to talk to someone and get the pods delivery rescheduled last minute!! I was so grateful!! The containers were scheduled for delivery 3 days later(1/11/16). With PODS you will receive a conformation email and phone call the night before, stating the window of delivery or pick up. I never received that. I knew something was wrong. I called immediately. At this point, their system conversion was complete and they told me they had no record of my containers needing delivery. The person I spoke to set up a new delivery(1/12/16). I was, again, very grateful. But, once again, I did not receive a confirmation email or call the night before for the new delivery. I called again. And once again, they didn't have a delivery scheduled. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager called the local facility and ensured me that the containers would be delivered on 1/12/16, like originally scheduled. So you can imagine how "thrilled" I was when 1/12/16 came around and my containers were NOT delivered!! Oh, at this point I was pretty livid. Not only had we spent $5500 on a cross country move with them, we also had been paying $450 a month in storage of the containers, September to January. That's a total of $7750. I would expect for that kind of money that there be more organization and reliability. I expected wrong. Period. I called the evening of 1/12/16 and lost it on the phone. Not one of my better moments, but everything about this company continued to go wrong! We were on a time crunch as well. We were flying back to Colorado on the evening of 1/13/16. We needed those containers delivered ASAP, as we were not going to leave them sitting on our driveway for 5 days with our ENTIRE home packed inside of them. The person I spoke to that evening stated they were going to try and get ahold of the local facility, again, and have a delivery for 1/13/16. She said she would call me back with more information. Guess what? She never called me back. So, I called again. This time, the associate I spoke with couldn't answer my questions and so they "transferred" me to a manager. That ended up with my call getting disconnected. Ironic.. I called again, that associate tried to get in contact with the local facility and assured me they would call me back and inform of my delivery for the following day. Again, I never received the call to confirm the container delivery. At this point, I just gave up. My husband and I decided that he would still fly back to Colorado and that I would cancel my flight so I could be in Florida when the containers were delivered. You can imagine my surprise when I received a call from PODS at 8am, on 1/13/16, stating that the first container was out for delivery and expected to arrive at my new home at 10am and the second container for noon!! I was happy and shocked at the same time. My husband and I were able to unload 2 large containers in 4 hours and still manage to make our 6pm flight!! I didn't end up having to cancel my flight like I originally thought!! I was so thrilled!! I called that day to have the empty containers picked up. The scheduled pick up of empty containers was for 1/18/16. Well, I bet you can guess what happened?!?! No confirmation call or email the night before.. I called, again they said they didn't have a pick up scheduled!! How can all these errors happen to one person on one order?? Baffles me!! So, I schedule another pick up for 1/21/16. The 2 empty containers were finally picked up on 1/21/16. If you think my horror story is over, think again!! With PODS, you must pay for your storage in advance. My payment was automatically withdrawn from my account on the 12th of every month. Even though my containers were delivered to my new home on 1/13/16 and picked up on 1/21/16, they still charged me the full amount for a month of storage! No credit given on the unused dates for the billing cycle. I just didn't care about the money anymore and just wanted to be done with this company. Well, I looked at my credit card statement on 2/3/16, I have another $450 charge from PODS. For what?? I don't have anything in storage and I do not have any of their containers sitting on my property. I have received 3 emails from them. First one said that I was overcharged and I would be receiving a credit, that was 1/22/16. So I assumed that was the credit towards the unused remainder of the month/billing cycle. I then received an email on 2/5/16 stating that they made an error and didn't charge me so they were now charging me, that explained the $450 charge on 2/3/16 that I saw. Then, once again, I get another email on 2/6/16 stating that they did over charge me and I will be receiving a credit. I have yet to receive this credit. This credit would be for storage for the month of February, even though I didn't have storage. This still doesn't rectify the fact that I only used their storage for a few days in January and was still charged for an entire month. This entire experience was a DISASTER!! I would NEVER in a million years recommend anyone using this company, EVER!! There are plenty of other companies whom provide the exact same service. Please tell your friends and families to use a different company.

Long-distance move from Jackson, MS to Atlanta, GA

Unhelpful, poorly trained people I have ever dealt with- canceled my delivery with out telling me PO.

I graduated school at the end of December was interviewing in a few different places. Using POD storage unit until I knew where I was going seemed like the perfect solution. And it was, until I tried to get my stuff back. Then they became the most unhelpful, poorly trained people I have ever dealt with.

After signing my lease for apartment, POD was the first call I made to set up a time delivery time. Over the first week, I talked to many different customer service agents who all gave me different instructions on what I need to set up a delivery (not the mention a quote to ‘drop-off/ pick-up month’s rent/ and delivery when I was clear they already had my stuff and I just needed a finale delivery quote). The calls went something like this:

That first weekend: Pull your customer # and call back (this one seemed pretty standard… I called back in a few mins). No now we need the last 4 digits of the credit card # (OK fine, but why couldn’t the first person tell me that?)

By The End of the week: Oh yes, we can see that this is your account, but we have it set for a local delivery not a long distance. You are going to need to start over with a different department. (WHAT?!! I’ve been telling everyone what I need done….No one said it was the wrong department….and at no point was this a local move)
New Department-Yes, we have you account and that delivery date available. But, I’m sorry; you’re not the contact name we have. Can you get [My Mom’s name] to set this up for you?  (Again, I identified myself by my name on every other phone call….where was that bit of instruction??)

My Mom calls the next day, and they can no longer deliver my POD on the requested date because it was a long distance move and it will take a another 2 weeks’ notice.  We schedule it as to not lose the opportunity, but are still looking for a quicker/cheaper way and are told that it can be cancelled up to a couple days before.

I start getting phone call, repeatedly, about an unsigned document on their website. But the ‘unsigned document’ has not been uploaded to my account. When I call to explain this, I am told the agreement is singed!! This is wrong for two very important reasons:1) I haven’t singed it. In fact, I am on the website as I call back. Still not even uploaded.  2) If it is singed, why are you robo-calling me?

Last night, I call to cancel the delivery because I have still a few days to do so, and I have plans to be in the original city (Jackson) in about 2 weeks anyway. It seems cheaper to just pick up my stuff while I’m there and driving back here (Atlanta). I have already paid to replace a lot of my belongings since I got my apartment about 2 weeks ago and need to live in it.
-  I call to cancel, and he ask when I want to delivery set to? I explain that I don’t because I will be visiting Jackson in two weeks and plan on getting my stuff myself. He confirms the cancellation and then again asks about rescheduling, and again I explain that I will pick it up myself. Then I ask him about accessing my POD when I get into Jackson. Turns out my stuff has been sitting at a POD storage unit in Atlanta for over a week!

The delivery issue wasn’t long distance because it was here before the first request delivery date. Just not here at my apartment. I might not have been able to move my furniture myself….but your telling me I just restocked my kitchen while all my old stuff was 30 miles away? Shouldn't I be getting some kind of tracking updates?

I guess I can’t cancel a few days before because I have already acquired part of the moving fee. Again, that would have been good info upfront.

Why in the world was I not told the POD had been moved BEFORE delivery was canceled? I told him I was picking my stuff up from Jackson. I clearly didn’t know that it wasn’t in Jackson, but he did and canceled my delivery before disclosing that.

I say never mind, if it is in Atlanta, go ahead and deliver it this weekend as scheduled. At which point they guy says ‘I’m sorry that delivery date is no long available, how about (insert date that is past my monthly rental deadline and will cause another month’s rent)I don’t mind paying another month’s instead of the delivery, but now I am being charge both? Even though I called and cancelled before the set delivery, like I was told I could do?
Now let’s talk about some training issues that would have made this all go better:
1- the first person should have been clear; what department I needed, what information I needed, and who should call.
2- I could have been given updates when my stuff was transferred so that I knew it was here, and at what point I was being charge for that.
3- The guy I talked to last night should have told me that my stuff has already been moved before cancelling! He knew I thought I could get if from the original location.

 - I could not agree more with the guy who said " they will hold your stuff hostage" that is what I feel like right now. The first part, general run-around I can deal with----- But to have my delivery canceled without being told it was already moved is inexcusable!!
