PODS Moving and Storage

PODS picked up on 1/22, scheduled delivery 2/02. They contacted us 1/31 to move it up to 2/01 to avoid weather. They didn’t show up in the delivery window and never contacted us. When we called them, they said it wouldn’t be in the area until 2/02, but there were no available drivers until 2/03. They were using weather as an excuse even though weather had not hit until after their original delivery window. They called to verify they were coming the evening before, then as they were arriving they told us they were expecting to pick up a POD, not deliver. At this point, they said they thought the POD might be in NJ. They couldn’t reschedule until the 6th. We still haven’t received our property and apparently it isn’t even in MA, where we moved. Never use this company. They have even figured out a way to not be accountable through federal interstate regulation by having a third party cross the state lines for them, so you have little recourse if you never see your stuff again. By the way, customer service will allow you no contact with their logistics team to find out where your POD is or has been. Customer service claims they will contact them for you, but you have to call them back if you want to find out any info they obtained.

I am very dissatisfied with my experience with PODS, what could have been a good experience turned out to be just the opposite. My incident occurred in Nov 2020 I had an inexperienced driver who got stuck in my yard ( after being informed that you can’t go off the driveway due to a lot of rain causing grassy area to be mucky) instead of calling for a tow truck right away he decided to get out of it himself, needless to say he tore up the lawn even worse, but the worst part was while he was attempting to get unstuck going forward and back several times my belongings were strewn all over the place I had some damage but it also cost me time and energy. I filed a claim was issued a claim number and to date no one has reached out either via phone or email I have made several attempts to contact them, it is now Jan 2021. I think it is sad that irresponsible or non caring people work for this company in the claims Dept. I have to wonder if it had happened to them would they care than? The important thing to take away from this is we all make mistakes but it is how they are handled afterwards that speaks for the greatness of a company.

I had an issue with PODS delivery back on 9/9/2020. I had ordered 2 PODS to be delivered on 9/9 and only one was dropped off. Lyle Wood, a customer service specialist, immediately followed up with my complaint I submitted on 9/10. He asked for more information and I provided this in detail. I have asked for my 1 POD to be reimbursed as well as the moving expense I incurred because of their mistake.

Since then, Lyle Wood & PODS have failed to provide me with anything close to quality customer service. For the past 6 months, I have tried communicating through Lyle via email and phone calls a few times per month. After serval consecutive failed attempts to reach him, I was forced to call the generic customer service number and ask them to reach out to him directly and have him return my calls. It was only then would I receive any kind of communication from Lyle. This again happened multiple times per month.

At this point, I've spoken with 5 different customer service representatives other than Lyle Wood and have asked them all to be transferred to a different customer service specialist. Some have said this is not possible while others have submitted a formal request. I've yet to be transferred or helped.

The last customer service representative I spoke with submitted a formal complaint on Lyle Wood on my behalf but nothing has come of it.

The amount of time I've wasted trying to get in touch with Lyle Wood over these past 6 months is unbelievable. The lack of accountability PODS takes in their customer service specialist's poor performance is disheartening.

I'm not one to formally complain. However, I have wasted too much energy at this point for PODS & specifically Lyle Wood's actions or lack thereof not to be exposed.

Pods overcharged & double charged us due to several mistakes they made by going to the wrong address for final state to state transport causing weeks of delay while continually charging our account. Our invoicing was such a mess that accounting kept "passing the buck" to other Pod accountants. I spoke to numerous Pod "account specialists" who start the resolution but then never call back! Two & a half months later; it is stiĺl not resolved & they owe me over $1500! A Nightmare of a move with them! I want this resolved! PODS?... or Lawyer?!

Horrible customer service and misrepresentation.

PODS is a horrible company with unresponsive customer service. They appear to be unable to respond to customer needs and misled me every step of the way including costs, delivery date. All the headache started when the delivery was to take place. I waited an hour past the window time to get a call from Summer in the escalation dept there was an IT ERROR and our POD was still in CA that was supposed to be in AZ.

Each and every call I made the representatives couldn’t provide a location of where the POD was. Countless times I asked for a supervisor, I was told they don’t make outbound calls. What the heck!? I physically heard a conversation where a representative reached out to a supervisor and they flat out refused to take my call and was to to handle it! I moved with my family to our new home sitting with absolutely nothing. Blatant lies and misrepresentation. I can't tolerate someone giving me false information. I made several YELP reviews and reported to BBB. Couldn’t get any info over the phone but someone sure replied to my Yelp review! Now I have a claim filed and I asked for them to refund all costs for compensation. They gave me a new delivery date, I don’t have the faith that the POD will even arrive, not to mention how long it will take for

The claim to be resolved! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! BEWARE!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3200

I contracted with PODS for an interstate move. On arrival at my new home I called to schedule delivery to find they would not deliver to my area (I was never told there are significant distance restrictions). My container was delivered to a facility 3.5 hours drive away from my home.

I asked to speak to a supervisor and the representative refused to provide any contact information. Another representative took the complaint, and advised it would be reviewed and a supervisor would be in contact in three business days. Over a week later, no contact.

I found a closer PODS location(45minutes) and asked them to deliver the container there. They agreed, at an additional cost of over 1,200 dollars.

Be very careful when working with PODS, they WILL NOT give you accurate information up front, and then add additional charges, or cause you to hire another moving truck to move the things you believed they were going to deliver.

We are receiving phone calls and emails from PODS about trying to collect an outstanding balance for service rendered. We have paid up-to-date the monthly fees we agreed to when we started their services. We were told there is only a monthly fee for the PODS and that would include pick-up and delivery. PODS charge out bank almost $800 extra than what was quoted. We were told the charges would be reversed and we would owe nothing since we were unaware of the additional service charges to get our stuff back their storage location. A few days later PODS charged 3 different amount that totaled more than the first charges we disputed. We disputed those charges with our bank and about 12 days later our bank reimbursed the charges. Now, about a month later, we are getting phone calls and emails demanding payment with threat to send to collections if not paid immediately. We were told the last time we talked to PODS customer service that we would not be charged and the fees would be reverse, but we are being harassed by them for fees they should have not charged to begin with. Stay clear of these lying scammers.

I reserved my pod TWO months ago. Date of delivery was September 15, 2023.

Then they changed it to the 20th! Never called me I just happened to see it on line. I had to make ten phone calls to move it to the 16thbut they won’t even tell me the time of day! I have three people I flew from Boston to Florida that are leaving on Monday September 18th. This potentially gives me ONE DAY with my family to unpack. I am 67 years old. I’ve now had to rent an airbnb for four people for one night, now maybe two. They should be ashamed of themselves and their poor customer service that puts me on home and disconnects me. I posting everywhere I can to avoid this company at all costs.

Please, please, do your research BEFORE using PODS.

We were moving from Oregon to Virginia and did not know the exact address of the new home in Virginia. When I spoke with an associate for a quote, they said they needed a zip code of where I could be contacted while they had my POD.

I made it clear that the zip code I provided WAS NOT our new location. The agent said 'No worries. We just need it to provide a quote.'

We ended up buying a home in Virginia and contacted PODS to get ours delivered. I was then informed that since our POD was in Maryland they cannot deliver it to Virginia. Instead, I would have to pay $1700 to get it delivered from Baltimore, MD to Richmond, VA, and then to our home. The agent said "It's implied when you use the company." It's implied? What does that even mean? Uhhhh WHAT?

There was never any communication that since the COMPANY moved our POD...we would have to pay additional fees to transfer to another PODS Storage company? On our invoices it said it was in Oregon the entire time when that was not true. I opened up an IR to get some answers and get the POD moved to the correct storage facility WITHOUT charging me. I did this on mid-April. It took over a week for it to be "assigned" and the associate reached out to me April 27th. I emailed my 'answers' to her questions right away. I still have not heard back from her. I have called twice and emailed twice.

Because I will not pay this company any additional money in storage fees while they try to figure shit out, I had to take matters into my own hands. We ended up renting a UHaul, hiring movers to pack from POD to UHaul truck, and then drove the UHaul ourselves to our new house. A waste of money using PODs. Seriously, such a joke!

Seriously. Do not use this joke of a company.
