STOP CALLING ME

This company has called me 7 times today. SEVEN. All I wanted was a quote, got the quote, decided to go with a different company and now I'm being stalked.

I've already told multiple people to please stop harassing me, I will not be using their services. So... I am not a customer- never have been and never will be. I am not sure what I need to do to be left the fuck alone. I've blocked every single number that has come through but you can see that that hasn't made a difference.

If you are a legitimate business with great services and great prices, then you don't need to continuously hound people that have already told you no. Red flags all around with these guys- save yourselves and do NOT even reach out for a quote!!

No complaints!

New Horizon Moving were terrific to us during our move. They were very efficient and helpful to us during the entire process. They made sure our items were safe and protected and, at the same time, did it as fast and efficiently as possible to make sure our costs remained low. I would recommend them for any future moves or anyone reading this. Be sure to have them help with your move, and you'll be in safe hands. Thanks, guys!

Worst company I've done business with in my entire life

Absolute disaster. Not a single box arrived without damage (except for bed sheets, which I'm guessing they couldn't find a way to break). TV's, expensive audio equipment, furniture, kitchenware, all now garbage thanks to this joke of a company. They outsourced to a company called "Handle With Care" (name is a total joke vs service). They do exactly the opposite. Now I paid a ton of money to have what they turned into garbage transported. Attached is just some of the damage. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE.

THE WORST

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they are the absolute worst company we have encountered. First off if you get a call from Chris Hill, he is a manipulative sales guy and so is Jonathan Padin the supervisor. This company is a BROKER not a moving company. THEY DO NOT HAVE TRUCKS or Vehicles, they procure poor quality movers that will destroy your stuff and then are completely hands off. Every box we received was damaged. The Movers smashed our $3000 TV and ripped our leather couch and are nowhere to be found. You will save yourself alot of grief by going elsewhere do not use them. We are going to pursue further legal services against them. Stay away from this one and thier apparent fake reviews.

Move from Idaho to Tennessee

I contracted with New Horizon Moving for my move from Idaho to Tennessee. I gave them an estimate of my belongings and was given a guesstimate of 1021 cf. for $6895.84. A few days before the pickup they called and I gave them a better estimate (after several days of packing) this time they guesstimated at 1538 cf. for $13016.52. I really don’t understand how 1.5X the original cf. equates to more than double the original price.

I was also told that I would be able to pay for both the pickup and delivery with a credit card - Not True!

The contract clearly states: “This estimate includes the following: Professional Door to Doir service. Expert advice and guidance throughout the course of your move. Disassembly of all standard furniture as required for safe movement st the origin. (Excluding certain specialty items). Reassembly for all items disassembled by the movers on the day of pick-up at destination location. Wrapping of all furniture with quilted moving blankets. Itemized inventory indicating condition at origin of items. All transportation, taxes, tolls, mileage, and fuel surcharges Standard cargo protection up to $10,000 based on 0.60 cents per lb. Per article; if selected at the time the estimate is prepared, estimated cost of the full value protection option at varying deductible levels (these are only estimates and the actual cost is determined by your selection on the carrier’s bill if landing per carrier’s tariff). No charge for packing tape and/or moving pads.

I realize that New Horizon is not the carrier, but they did indeed contract with carrier - All Season Van Lines LLC (also DBA Bro Lines Express Inc). This carrier did NONE of the things listed above! I’m a senior citizen, as are my two sisters and the male friend I had helping me. We moved everything out to the truck, with the exception of a TV, the couch, and the washer and dryer (which they had no tools to unhook) My helpers disassembled my beds. They had NO moving blankets and only wrapped my couch with Saran Wrap type stuff. Which in itself was fine but they wouldn’t wrap the cushions on the couch “we can stuff them in and fill holes”. That was also their attitude for any and all dresser/cabinet drawers.

And don’t even get me started on their behavior or the fact that they were 36 hours late for the pick-up!! And it took 3 weeks to attempt delivery (I got word of the delivery the night before) but I was not told what the final delivery charge would be until it was too late to get a wire transfer completed so they charged me a re-delivery fee and then didn’t deliver for another week. And ALL of my furniture looks as though it has been slid around dirty warehouse floors, horribly scratched, knobs broken and missing, and a missing wing back chair (I have the cushion, but no chair). Remarkably only a few dishes were broken.

I would recommend that if you were to choose New Horizon, that you find out who the carrier would be and then research them well. This has truly been the most distressing, upsetting and over priced experience of my entire life!

Pervasive scam

Check the BBB reviews for this company. On sites like this the true reviews are purged regularly and replaced with fake ones. My elderly mother ended up paying triple her expected cost, with significant amounts of items damaged, lost or stolen. The moving "company" that was hired does not have a working phone number, valid address, or valid DOT license.

Professional!

The team was incredibly professional and courteous, saying excuse I, thank you, and you're welcome about 100x more than I've ever heard from a mover. They were careful with our stuff, didn't grumble when I asked them to take something back downstairs or rearrange something, and never made me feel rushed or stressed out. They actually were the least stressful part of the whole move. I'm glad I decided to go for a more premium experience, and I'd definitely use them again in the future.

Run Away -DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

We moved from AZ to IL and have NEVER experienced more stress with a company, or uncertainty that we would ever see our belongings again. There was ZERO communication once your payment was made, they farm out your move to any truck company that will take it- and the one we ended up was a nightmare. We got calls at 11:00pm (2 calls and a text) that they will be there the next day, then they called right before the scheduled move and said they couldn’t make it, leaving us in a panic as we were leaving the area the next day. They did find someone else and the nightmare continued. We were lied to by both companies, WE had to keep calling them, never returned calls, and left us in a panic for a week. After waiting 2 days for a promised delivery, and lie after lie, excuse after excuse, we did finally get our stuff at 10:15 pm. I really can’t believe any positive reviews, there is another New Horizon Moving Company and feel they had to confuse the two. PLEASE do yourself a favor, RUN AWAY!! Moving is hard enough and the stress this clown company caused was unbelievable. Never, ever had so much stress and lies from a company in my life. And….payment is all cash form- even though I was promised I could use my CC, that was a lie too. Feeling lots of PTSD after this move- seriously RUN AWAY.

Good job!

If you're planning about moving to this area, I highly recommend New Horizon Moving. They are disciplined, efficient, conscientious, and good-natured. Moving can be stressful, but they alleviate a lot of it. Looking at the reviews, it seems like they generally come in under their estimate, and there are a lot of happy customers. They are well worth the money.

TERRIBLE

Long distance move from Texas to Florida. Would NOT recommend these movers. An additional $1400 added to bill, moving was brokered out to another company without my knowledge and then items sent to a holding warehouse for at least 20 days after being told they would arrive within 3-5 days. Everything I was told was a lie except that a mover would show up. Looking at the other reviews, I paid more for 50 boxes than people moving 2 bedroom homes,

Completely criminal

I booked my move a month in advance with an estimate on the furniture and boxes which I was assured could be changed within the allowed cubic footage. I called to cancel my move and emailed as a backup which they never cancelled. A week to move time They called to confirm items and I changed items removing a tv, fridge, freezer and 2 upright dressers. I then added 1/2 a china cabinet and full dresser. I had a king size bed to move and they want to charge me extra for the box spring. They want to charge me another $600 even though the cubic footage had decreased. The customer service is the rudest I've ever had to deal with as well. They will lie to you to sign you up on a non-refundable move and then treat you like crap.

Scammers

They use the name of a legal moving company in CA, but they are group of scammers in Florida. They lied at every step of the way. They took 9000$ as a line item to create the estimate and then the movers that arrived said they were brokers and not movers. The estimate was also off by and order of magnitude, so we lost most of our possessions and still paid more than the estimate to move our essentials. I will be pressing legal action, but please please avoid using these criminals.

Horrible experience!

Be prepared to pay above and beyond your estimate when the movers show up. 78yo elderly mother with dementia was charges an additional 1200$ upon pick up, then another 500 CASH for "long haul" charges because the door to her apartment was more than 75 feet from the truck. None of this was ever discussed or brought up during my many calls and emails with my broker. Customer service simply hid behind " it was on the paperwork". Had I known there were going to be all these up charges and price changes on moving day, I could have at least been prepared since you can only pay CASH upon delivery. 300$ for bulky items... what were they? they cant even tell me, but isn't all furniture "bulky?" Do not use. If I could give a zero rating I would. Extremely dissatisfied and disgusted.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, DISHONEST, & MANIPULATIVE

We were lied to from the very first phone we received from the so called senior sales advisor Andrew Hill. We were told they had an empty truck coming from Phoenix that would pick up my belongs from my one bedroom apartment, but we had to pay the $1200 deposit immediately in order to get the $2800 quote we were given. Long story short, we were given 36 cubic square on the truck, which is ridiculous and we’re told if we needed more space it would be $6000! Couldn’t get Andrew Hill to EVER our phone calls and when we asked to speak with a manager we were told they were on break! Lost our $1200 deposit to these people! They are CROOKS, DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Terrible moneysucking BROKER.

I'm first to admit that I was the fool. I should never, ever have gone with this company. From the first moment, they were pushy and manipulative. The salesperson, Crystal (or Christine) gave "discounts" which weren't really discounts - just manipulation. She insisted that the discounts were only good if I stayed on the phone and paid (with a WIRE TRANSFER - god, was I stupid.) Then, during a "quality assurance" phone call, "Jordan" attempted to add hundreds of dollars to the initial amount, saying my list of items had changed (it had gotten slightly SMALLER (I had moved a number of things myself), and they were already misrepresenting the sizes of what I had listed. Thent, the "carrier" called me a few days later, needing $200 MORE (by VENMO, right then) that was supposed to come off the final amount (it did not). A day before my "date range" for moving (May 10 or 11 was when it was supposed to happen), I called Johnathan at New Horizon, having been unable to reach the "carrier". He had never heard of the "carrier" (Out of State movers based in New Jersey - my move was from Massachusetts to Rhode Island). Finally someone called me back from the carrier, saying they would be there the following day for the move - which gave me about a 12-hour notice to be completely ready. Johnathan called back at just the moment the truck got to my house, admitting that this was the carrier, but still sounding like he was completely confused as to what was going on. The guys who came were nice enough, and didn't harm anything, but the leader of that crew put a lot of pressure on to "take care of his guys" with more money.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Use an established company that does respectable business where you can pay with a credit card, as is considered normal - and now that I know better, I realize is certainly done by REPUTABLE businesses. I feel lucky that a mover showed up AT ALL, as this whole deal felt like a scam from the beginning. Don't be a fool like I was.

Hidden Costs, Overcharging, Dishonest Practices

I'm a disabled military combat veteran and all I wanted was a move that would not be expensive. They initially charge me $977 deposit and $2124 total. Their representative falsified my inventory and failed to capture all of my moving items. After telling New Horizons moving and storage representative that I reduced the number of plastic containers by 4, they raised the price to $3938 and wanted a second deposit of $850, with $1005 at pickup and $1005 at delivery. They didn't even ask for photographs of my inventory list. Most of my items are light-weight and are not heavy. They use this computer system that's outdated and flawed. Never use this moving company as they are in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and I'm in Charlotte, NC. Use a local moving company that's honest and reliable. My official rating for this company is a negative (1 star) because they don't deserve a 1 star rating. A negative 1 star would encompass that they need to be put out of business.

I was also scammed by these people

Similar story as other reviewers. I put my contact info into a moving estimator site and was called by a guy named Travis from this company. He seemed nice and trustworthy. I had him talk to my wife and we both agreed we should hire them. We were asked to give a detailed inventory of the items we were moving and were given a quote based on that inventory. We later decided to move a couple more pieces of furniture and got a newer (higher) quote. We paid a deposit of ~$1,300 and they said they'd we'd have to pay them an additional ~$700 on the day of the move. We would also have to give the movers ~$1,000 and the company an additional $2,000 after the move. It seemed high to us, but we had already started the process with them and decided to see it through. They gave us a range of dates (May 27-29) and said they would call closer to date with an exact time. By May 26th, we still hadn't received an exact time. My wife called and a woman (who was unnecessarily rude) said it was still the same range of dates and they'd let us know, but she couldn't tell us when we would know for sure. They called a few hours later and said the movers would be there the next morning at 8am! The movers did show up at 8, explained they were contractors and that we would have to pay them $4,000 in a cashiers check! The movers said the price had gone up because our items weren't "stackable," even though they were the exact items we had inventoried and they would still all fit on the truck they'd brought. My wife asked them to wait while she called the company. The movers were understandably pissed off while they waited for two hours in their truck while my wife got the runaround from New Horizons. The rude woman at the moving company said we should stick to the original plan of paying the movers $1,000, even though they were demanding more. We asked them to work that out with the movers, but they wouldn't. The woman said, "You guys have a choice", i.e. cancel the move and the company keeps our $2,000 that we already paid, pay the movers way below what they were asking for (and hope they don't damage our stuff in retaliation), or pay them what they were asking for. And they made it clear they would not be refunding our $2,000. I don't know if the contracted movers were in on the scam. They seemed less than honest themselves, but I also got the sense they had been misled by New Horizons as well. I'm still fuming and trying to figure out what to do about this move. But please, do not hire this company. Do not fall for the nice sales guy (everyone else we got on the phone was callous and rude). Do not trust the 5-star reviews. And if anyone has good ideas for exacting revenge, at this moment, i am wide open to creative ideas.

New Horizons as broker company

I have had a terrible time with this company and would tell you to definitely not use them. They have quoted my prices and times that are WAY BELOW what I have been asked to pay. Now, they have someone who is bringing my stuff on a semi truck and telling me that I owe more money due to that. He also cannot tell me when he is going to arrive. Not a moving company. This is a brokerage.

After misleading me to believe I was receiving a moving truck to move out 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 2 story, 2200sqft home, they got a deposit from me of $1900. The quote was only estimated for 737cuft, that will never be enough space for this size of home. There salesman assured me it would be fine and our quote would not change. Jump to a week before we are set to move, the QA specialist calls to itemize our move & then doubling the cost. At this point the deposit is non refundable. After reading more terrible reviews & dealing with the outright lies, we chose to cancel. Their Customer service supervisor, Jonathan was awful. He rude & unprofessional. When I told him I didn't like the way he was speaking to me, he told me that was my problem not his. After he claimed to have listened to my recorded sales call to determine whether or not their salesman mislead me, his demeanor changed. He admitted that the salesman may have insinuated things, but since he never said the words "free of charge" I wasn't eligible for a refund because they are not responsible for how I understand things. Jonathan also stated that if I decide to dispute the charge with my bank it would be fraud. However, my bank said this is untrue. So he used that as a scare tactic. This company is not a moving company. They are a scam, a useless middle man. They outsource the movers. They do not own moving trucks or employ movers. They should be shut down.

I will not sugarcoat, fabricate or exaggerate my true feelings about this company. THEY ARE HANDS DOWN WONDERFUL! I thought maybe the first I hired them for a fast move was an incredible fluke, and just out of convenience, I gave them another try two years later, and wouldn't you know it? Perfectly executed once again!! I was/am impressed and a fan. I read a few bad reviews. Perhaps it was that particular crew. Horrible Company, Find Better!

This is by far the worst moving company I have ever used. I have been through three companies for three different cross-country relocations and this was a horrible experience. First, the QA customer service refused to work with me to add additional items and became upset that I didn't want to pay an extra $1000 to move two box springs. I tried escalating to the manager, emailed twice, called three times, all to be ignored. The movers were 24 hours late, which made me have to take additional days off of work as I was driving my own car after the movers. Dispatch (this is the title he used) said there was nothing they could do for being late except deduct for one hotel stay. The movers finally arrived and the driver had no help, I ended up loading the truck! The people who they hired locally to help finally showed up and they ruined one wall and the one helper couldn't lift anything heavy. I carried my couch by myself, boxes, desks, chairs so this job could be completed. The driver of course said everything would not fit so I was charged extra and had to throw out furniture. The driver arrived at the new location and they only accept money order or cash. I deducted the one hotel stay as directed and "dispatch" said, no, not enough they only pay up to $90. I asked him why he wouldn't have said that in the prior three phone calls, especially when they know I have to get a money order for the exact amount. He said the driver won't work until I go get an additional $78 in cash. He didn't realize I was on speaker and said, "If she is going to be mad about the money don't give her any discount at all." How unprofessional and rude. They dropped everything off in one room and did not put back together any furniture. Desk was ruined, missing parts, and holes in my couch. They tried to say my treadmill wouldn't fit inside just because they didn't want to lift it. They also left things in the garage, including my box spring, which is obvious it belongs in a bedroom. I would NOT recommend this company, go to BBB and read their reviews, it is a total scam.

Liar's thieves and swindlers

This is not a moving company. It is a brokerage company that finds a moving company for you and you never know who has possession of your belongings. After they collect your deposit, you never hear from them again. Afterward, you are getting calls from some moving company or someone pretending to be your movers, that do NOT honor the contract you sign with this company and nothing in your original contract is valid from that point forward. Your original price means nothing and they constantly add charges to your contract. They try collecting as much of your money as they can before they deliver by having someone constantly calling and harassing you so that when they do show up with a truck full of junk that doesn't belong to you they can offer you 60 cents per pound for the belongings they have stolen and auctioned off.

There is no 30-day free storage & redelivery from the moving company and they charge you an additional $ 1500.00 for that service, this is not included in their contract.

There is no $10,000 insurance with the movers, if your property is lost, stolen, or damaged you get $.60 (60 cents) per pound for your belongings, basically NOTHING for your belongings. I lost $3500 cash and well over $15,000 worth of belongings. PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE THIEVES !!!!

Terrible service, unresponsive, missed timelines.

It has been a month since our stuff was picked up. The move was only 800 miles. We have called multiple times and every time we are told someone will call us back but they never do. The contract stated 10-14 days for delivery of our items but we are well beyond that now. The are completely unresponsive, and I have no idea if or when we will get our stuff. I would strongly advise anyone from using this service. I understand problems happen but their lack of communication shows a problem with the company not a one off issue.
