Along with the moving company they contracted out, I would give a Negative 5 stars if I could.

This was just the most bungled, botched, and ridiculous experience of my life. Initial quote was for 820 Cubic feet and about $5,200. Ocean Moving and Storage shows up the day of the move and tells me that they are estimating 1480 Cubic Feet. Now. I went through every item BY HAND with Nationwide's QA team. We are talking HAND MEASURED CUBIC FOOTAGE and yet Ocean Moving and Storage tells me that we were off by OVER 600 CUBIC FEET!?!?!??! This subsequently cost me an additional $3,000 just to get them to put the stuff on the truck. I have a wife in my destination city who just gave birth to our 3 week old son with my 2 year old daughter and no furniture. What am I to do? They had me over a barrel and simply did not care.

Customer service is a joke. My rep, John Valeo, who swore to me that he would be available with any issues was a complete non-starter for helping any of the issues. I spoke with Stephen in Customer Service about 6 times and all he attributed it to was a colossal screw up on the estimate. He did nothing to resolve the issue. He offered nothing other than a "it is what it is" kinda thing.

How are you SO BAD at your job, that you misquoted me by over 80%????? Sad thing is, I was expecting at least an additional $500 to $1,000 because let's be honest, this is the moving company's MO. But $3,000??????? My guy, everyone in this process should be fired.

Run, and I MEAN RUN AWAY. These guys will sell you a poop sandwich disguised as a pot of gold. They are just as worthless as every other moving company out there.

I even discussed this with John before he provided me a quote. I told him the negative experiences I've had with moving companies in the past and he assured me that they had QA and other protocols in place to avoid this. Yet, here I stand: 5:15 p.m. on Friday when the movers showed up initially at 10:15 a.m. STILL waiting for them to get here to finish loading the truck and being forced to pay $3,000 more than my initial quote.

An absolute disgusting display of service and this company should be shut down by the DOT.

I shopped three different companies and went with Nationwide moving services. With their pricing and nationwide services. The rep that I dealt with was good. She was easy to answer questions and to talk to. The quote was exactly what I paid. The moving crew was fantastic. They broke two pieces, and they told us about it real quick. Other than that, we're really good. I've submitted the claim already. They have six months to reply to the claim. They try to do them within 90 days, so I decided if I don't hear something in about six months, then I'll start calling.

Move from CT to WA state:

First Binding estimate 4/12, $7929, then 2 days before move 5/6 after a virtual look, $13,945.00! After Cross Country Movers loads the truck, 5/8, the company Nationwide employed, $17, 403.00!!

Looks like this Senior Lady is being scammed for the move of a One bedroom and Den. I wrote a complaint to the DOT as it is illegal to change price once the truck is loaded.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $4125

I hired them to move me from Massachusetts to Michigan. The moving company they brokered to move me (Moving Solutions Van Lines) charged me $2000 more than the estimate. I was supposed to receive my belongings June 30 and here it is July 19 and STILL NO WORD! I would expect that Nationwide would at least advocate for me with their broker but no. Free storage for 30 days but now, conveniently, it is over 30 days and I have no clue how much storage they will charge. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are a rip off and they don't care about you at all. Use a company that does not broker with other movers but rather does it all themselves. TAKE WARNING THESE PEOPLE ARE AWFUL!!!!!

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8100

I’m currently in a special kind of hell living in an empty two bedroom apartment in a new city with only what I brought in a suitcase. Not fun coming home from your new job to a hardwood floor to sleep on, and also wearing the same shirts to your new job. I was told it may be 30 days before my belongings arrive. That’s all my furniture and all my clothes.

This is all because got screwed over by a badNationwide employee named Brett. I can say he was a bad employee because their customer service told me he was, and that he screwed a a lot of people, and was let go because of this. I was told this no less than twice, each time his name was given.

What Nationwide should be doing right now is either putting a rush on my delivery or offering a partial refund. But no, my consolation for getting screwed by this company: Brett, is just being assured that the person who did it no longer works there. Doesn’t really change my situation. Also, regarding the possibility of spending the rest of the summer with no furniture, I was advised to buy an air mattress.

Customer service pretty much never picks up the phone. It took about six tries, and this was before I even knew my stuff was being held hostage.

Brett or no Brett, don’t work with this company.
