Long-distance move from Grand Rapids, OH to Summerville, SC

Awful Experience.

We had heard of moving companies that quote you an unusually low fee, work with multiple local companies to handle your belongings, and your belongings will sit in a warehouse until they have enough families to justify a "moving load" in that direction. This is them! And once you pay the deposit, you will not get a refund- they swindled us for $1450. We ended up calling our own Uhaul to move ourselves on our moving day. The service representative (Collin) guaranteed our move from Ohio to S.C. would not be delayed- the local movers that showed up 2 days late to our residence admitted our belongings would not be received in SC for at least 25-30 business days and will sit in a warehouse in between that timeframe. While I was speaking to the main driver that day, his other two movers were stealing from us. They helped themselves to approximately $500 of electronics and money. The service representatives with National Moving were unprofessional and argumentative upon reaching out to them with this matter. Finally, I emailed our experience to the "Dispatch manager" who responds "I'm sorry to hear you decided not to use our services to help you move, we will gladly give you 1/3 of your deposit back, but you signed a contract and after 72 hours we are unable to refund your full amount"- not at all taking accountability for anything that happened in our situation. Now, the Federal Bureau of Competition is reviewing our case. I hope this review is helpful for future consumers.

Long-distance move from Maryland to Illinois

Buyer Beware!! Not-to-exceed cost clause is a joke.

Bottom line: I am most disappointed with National Moving Group (NMG). I moved this past summer and now I’m out over $2,000 than what I was originally quoted to pay despite a “Not-to-Exceed Cost” in the contract, my job was subcontracted out to an incompetent company though NMG advertised as a full service moving company. Further, my items arrived late and I suffered property damage. While pleasant on the phone, for the most part, they will talk a good game and even side with you but place all blame all on the subcontracted company and will take absolutely no actions to rectify the situation they created.
Details:
1.Signed a contract with a binding “Not-to-Exceed Cost” clause in the contract
2.NMG clearly identified themselves as a full service moving company in their “About Us” emailed to me in May.
3.Unbeknownst to me, they subcontracted with another moving company who was to honor original contract
4.Three price increases
5.Charged for shuttle bus
6.Property damage. Even purchased a protective plastic covering for couch to prevent such damage.
7.Moved from a 1-bed to a 550ft studio with no unusually heavy furniture yet, weight of truck doubled. My inventory list was exact when they called me two days before the pick up and actually less than pick up day
8.Late delivery despite wiring subcontracted company over half of what I was required for a speedy delivery
9.I was left dealing with two companies, several contracts and no clear point of contact person.
10.Tried to settle with NMG but they claimed they have nothing to do with it. Tried going through the subcontracted company’s claims process but nothing – not even a phone call.
11.I was left financially drained while both companies profited from breached terms

Long-distance move from California to New Mexico

Very Content Customer.

I was moving from southern california back to Conneticut and it was very stressful finding a mover, I decided to go with national moving group to move me. I made a great choice the movers showed up on the dates they said they would. As soons as I opened the door to great the movers they were ready to go to work. In about 3 hours my whole house was wrapped and all the boxes packed, it took them about another 3 hours to load the truck by 4 pm they were driven out of my drive way and I was in an empty house. Everything went awesome I am so glad I went with national moving and the best part everything was done for only 3000.00 which was so fair. National Moving group is the best.

Long-distance move from Ohio to Arizona

Consumer Beware.

This is a broker company landing sales from customers. Their partnership with Unique Van Lines is unprofessional and does not put customers first. I signed with them expecting a fast, smooth long distance move and got a nightmare. I was handed off between too many people in both companies who did not resolve my delivery issues nor did they care. I was moving with a handicap family member who needed their bed. The sales man stated 4-10 days for delivery. Then, when pick up occurs the driver for the moving company states by federal law a 15 business day completion date has to be added but would not interfere with original terms. This is misleading and beware it gives the trucking company a loophole to add delivery time to unexpecting customers. Unique Van Lines who was the trucking company had as many excuses as National Moving Group of why delivery could not be done as stated. There was missing and damaged items as well as delivery taking 31 days. Also items were not reassembled as stated ing contract. Delivery drivery cursed in front of my family. I remained calm and professional when contacting both companies by phone, email, and texts throughout this situation. Our family had to accomodate for this lack of effort toward a resolution. .

Official company response

Kristie, national moving group was under the impression we worked everything out, as we were in constant contact with you through out your whole move from email, text, to phone calls.

Delivery was within 21 business days, as in the summer months moving is very busy and delivery dates are sometimes a little longer. Even tho you were not happy with your moving experience please call National Moving Group During our normal business ours 9:30-5:30 MON - FRI (EST) and we will see if we can assist you with anything.

Do not use this company.

Beware do not hire this company! After 12 days we still have not received all our worldly possessions. Pick up was after contracted time and delivery has not happened as the budget truck they contracted( as they do not have their own trucks) is broken down somewhere in north Carolina. Mechanics are not available on weekends so they say and they won't transfer our things onto another truck because "They won't make money on the move if they do that."My family consists of a 90-year-old Alzheimer patient, a man with recent spinal fusion surgery and I who has ms and Crohn's disease. All of our diseases have been severely exacerbated because of this experience. We are sleeping on one sofa and have depleted our savings on hotel rooms and food. Please don't" Let this happen to you!

Official company response

Richard Parker, National Moving Group has the moving company we assigned to you pick you up on the date you requested. we send our apologizes if you were confused on the pick up times. As for delivery you knew when it was getting delivered since you requested those dates.

National Moving group has assigned one of our agents to your complain and are in the works with you to settle a claim with you to your liking.

Do not use this company!

Most if not all of these positive reviews are probably fake.Do not use this company. The quotes may sound great but you will probably end up paying much more in the log run or loose your deposit. If you have issues(multiple issues in my case) they will not issue you a refund on your deposit even if nothing is moved and they will fight you tooth and nail to hang on to your hard earned money. Use a reputable company like Mayflower or United Van Lines. We had issues with them more than once(for the same move) and ended up going with mayflower. The customer service is much better. They will send out an agent to your home to get a detailed quote and inventory list. There drivers are much more friendly and professional.Do your research and think when was last time you seen a National Moving Group truck out on the highway? You didn't and probably never will. They are broker and will send a company like Moving Express(In my Case) to your house. Ever heard of them? Probably not. The drivers I got from Moving Express continually talked to each other in a foreign language in front of us, showed up in a rental truck and demanded an obscene amount of extra money($3300 on top of our initial estimate of ~$2750), and/or charge you fixed rate when it is supposed to be charged on weight(second time they came out).Still fighting to get refunded from this place and will continue to fight. In the meantime I will continue to share our terrible experience with this company where ever we can.

Service cost: $4070

Official company response

Kevin P, National Moving Group is trying to find out which customer you are so we can assist you. However based on your review and searching our data base, we came up with you were a customer who reserved a move with his finance / wife shauna.

Unfortunately your fiance/wife under quoted the amount of furniture and boxes she needed moved. When the movers showed up the first time he explained you had a lot more goods than initially stated which your finance/wife also agreed that she left off telling the estimator.

we did a re-quote for your finance/wife at no additional fees and had the movers come back a second time. When they showed up you turned them away knowing you would forfeit your deposit. If you ever need another move in the future please feel free to contact us we can and will apply your credit of the full deposit you paid to any move you may need. For any other information please feel free to call the office MON - FRI 9:30am to 5:00 pm (EST).

Long-distance move from Michigan to South Carolina

National Movers Group and Most Valuable Movers, Inc.

Company contacted us and insisted they do not "bait and switch" moving companies. Truth is, this is exactly what they did. Our contract was purchased by another moving company. Most Valuable Movers Inc. came to pick up our boxes. They immediately called their office stating that there were two crates that were too big to take for the quoted moving price. Their office demanded $1200 additional funds to make the pickup. This was renegotiated to $750, after 3 hours of back and forth phone calls.  When the move actually began, the movers managed to miss our driveway and get themselves stuck in mud. After another hour of unsuccesful maneuvering, we paid $80 to have a tow truck put them back on the road. From there, the move went without incident. Our original contract with National Movers cleary indicates the size of the two crates and the number of large boxes (36x36x40). National knew we were moving taxidermied mounts. They insisted their quoted price was accurate and made no mention of "oversized" crates. Since we had to move on the stated date, we paid the additional costs demanded by Most Valuable Movers, Inc. We believe that this is unfair because our original contract clearly indicated the sizes of the two crates. It is not our problem that Most Valuable Movers had incomplete communications with National Movers regarding what was being picked up. To date, we have contacted The Better Business Bureau regarding the tactics of National Movers. They have agreed to pay only the $80 towing costs.

Long-distance move from New York to Georgia

National Moving Group.

DO NOT USE National Moving Group, they are only a broker but position themselves on the phone like the actual movers who will be handling your belongings. Richard from sales outright iied in everything he said about the company and the overall process including timing on how long it takes from pickup to delivery.  The moving company they outsourced was over 6 hours late on the day of pickup and NMG was not useful at all in tracking down the driver. I was told by the actual mover that NMG was only a middleman that takes a fee and does not offer any real service.  He actually said that NMG is known to give low quotes to get the consumer to sign and then the number actually goes way up after the movers take the stuff.  The moving company NMG hired has only been in business for 4 months, why would I want a company that is unproven? Not suprisingly, the move took longer than expected, communication was poor on all fronts as we were told on three different occasions that the truck had left only to find out after that it was still stuck in storage.  NMG gave the movers the wrong address so they ended up 4 hours outside of where they were supposed to be and at our apartment after 11pm. I repeat, DO NOT USE NMG, they are terrible, liars, thieves.  All of our furniture was damaged and the moving company now is screening my calls and won't answer even after numerous voicemails.  .

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Delaware

Really Good Movers.

I was looking for a good mover to move my moms furniture from Minnesota to my house in Delaware. We had some in home estimates from North American and allied which seemed great. The only thing was their price was so high, so I decided to shop around. I went where I guess everyone goes - to the internet and found National Moving Group. After speaking to them for a day or 2, I pulled the trigger. Everything went good. They were 600 dollars cheaper than Allied Van Lines and the movers that showed up to my house were good guys. They wrapped and packed all my moms furniture in a jiffy withing 4 hours. The truck was completely packed and I was signing paperwork and they were off. Great moving experience. If you are looking for a good mover - National Moving group is the way to go.

Last Minute Cancel.

My initial call with Nationwide Moving Group was great. The sales rep promised me that they would be the best choice and to check the online reviews. I was flexible and even pushed my pickup date a day behind to accomodate. On the day of my expected pick up, I called to check on the status and to confirm a delivery date. I couldn't get in touch with the friendly sales rep. It seems she disappeared after she got my deposit. After multiple attempts, I was able to get in touch with someone. He advised me that they were just about to call me (of course) to tell me that they didn't have a truck to pick me up. He would find one and call me back in 2 hours. 3 hours later I have to call back and finally got a hold of him. I was informed that they didn't know how far my city was and that they couldn't get a mover out to me. I will admit that the gentleman apologized and said he would refund my money. What upsets me is their lack of communication to inform me of this. At this point, I cancelled my backup plans because I had already paid my quote and deposit. The rep who was working with me all of a sudden couldn't be reached and would not return my calls.

Long-distance move from Arizona to North Carolina

Wonderful moving from tucson.

I was getting so many different quotes from so many different moving companies and the prices were all over the map, very cut throat industry it looks like. I decided to call North American and have them come to my house and give me a price. They were very nice and professional. However, the price they gave me was not very nice. It was extremely high and was going to hurt my bank big time. I remember getting a call from Tod. He said he offered great service at a good price. He matched their quote identically and beat their price by almost 800 dollars! After I heard that I said lets go. The service was great and the movers were fantastic. My move was affordable and high quality. If you're looking for a mover this company is the one.

Louisiana Moving Company Great.

First time hiring National Moving group and they did a great job.  We moved from a 3rd floor to a 2nd floor . The movers took control and didn't need any assistance. All of the movers were respectful of our things and of the apartment. When I first hired them I was a little nervous since it was over the phone but it turned out to be great the price they quoted me was the price I paid and they do everything by email which is awesome.  Would most definitely recommend. Awesome company .

Amazing New Mexico Moving Company.

After filling a form out online looking for a mover, I received so many phone calls from different moving companies after getting about 4 over the phone prices I have to say Todd from National Moving really impressed me, the price he gave me was higher than the other quotes but he explained to me that cheaper isn't always the answer and you get what you pay for I agreed so I decided to move forward with him. I scheduled a date of April 3 for pick up Todd said that would not be a problem the mover and packers showed up right on time and did a great job. The price I was told was the price they collected they wrapped all my furniture and took such good care of my breakables. I am so happy I went with National Moving Group, if you are looking for a high quality moving company these guys rock!!

Illinois movers fantastic.

I was looking for a moving company to move me from Illinois to Oregon for weeks. I searched online and found national moving group. When their movers showed up the main guy Bob took full control of the whole move and did such a great job. They literally had my house packed and loaded in less than 6 hours. I'm so happy I went with them when they got to Oregon. They unpacked and put all my furniture in all the right rooms. That took longer tho. They were at my new home for 10 hours. Maybe they were tired from the drive.

Long-distance move from Colorado to Wyoming

Very honest Colorado Moving company.

When I booked National Moving Group to do my move from Colorado to Wyoming, I told my rep if everything went well I would leave a good review, well here is my promise. Alex was a very informative person on the phone after going through my whole house. I was telling him what furniture we were taking he gave me a price I was a little shocked since it seemed to be a little high. However, he did tell me that he was not going to be the cheapest and that his quote should be in the middle of all my estimates. After getting a few more quotes, Alex called me back and he was dead right I received quotes all over from extremely high to sounding way too good to be true prices. I ended up booking with National Moving and the move went great hard working movers let me tell ya.

Pay attention.

They are just the booking agency. WHEN something goes wrong with the the movers YOU have to deal with the movers. Again they are just the bookies, the go between..you're paying them for making a phone call to ingrates who will be late and when they do decide to deliver will "misplace" your stuff. Do your research. Needless to say no one has called to do a follow up on the service cause the service they booked was horrible.

The Best Review.

I was speaking to Thomas for a week regarding my move and we were going back and forth since I didn't know if I was going to take all my furniture with me and was trying have enough money for this move. I finally decided to take most of my furniture so I went ahead a placed a move with national moving group they were alot more expesnive then other estimates I was getting however he assured me the other companies were just pricing their jobs real low and then when they picked me up the price would change. It made sense. I am so grateful I listened to tom and went with National Moving Group they did a fantastic job, when the movers arrived they just knew what they were doing, all my furniture was wrapped and my glass was packed carefully in blankets and boxes, within 8 hours all of my belongings was on their truck and my house was empty. I was so in shocked I haven't seen my house like that in years. Anyway national moving is a great company tom asked me to leave this review for him so I am. Great Movers.

When the movers showed up at my house they explained everything they were going to do from start to finish before even touching any furniture in my house. The list I initally made with Jenna the driver had a copy and I had a copy we went through my whole house and did a second inventory to make sure everything was there which I loved!! showed honesty! after about 20 minutes of explaining what they were going to do I said lets go Joe,. I was so impressed of how they worked and took care of all my furniture everything was just amazing. I never really leave reviews but Jenna asked me to this favor for her, I was more than happy she is such a nice lady and the way she reserved my move and took care of me I was very happy  to do so.  If you are looking for the BEST MOVERS National moving is your company. .

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Arizona

Very Helpful during a stressful time.

I have moved several times in my life and always find it a stressful and difficult task. I must say, Jenna was very professional and courteous and made this move as smooth as possible. She went through my house thoroughly so we could do an accurate inventory listing. Once the inventory was done the price was very reasonable. I paid $1585 for my move from Minnesota to Arizona for 3425 lbs. I opted to do my own packing so I could save money.  I had some questions I wanted addressed and I called and the customer service department and they were just as friendly and helpful. I spoke to Brian and he was very helpful. When the truck arrived on the day of my pickup (ontime!) the driver and his helper were very professional and loaded the truck within a couple of hours with no delays. My furniture was delivered the following week as promised even though the weather was terrible for a few days (snow!). Thank you Jenna and National Moving Group for a job well done. I will recommend you guys to my friends and family!

National Moving Group wonderful company.

I had to move last minute to South Carolina and was freaking out! I had some family issues and needed to get down there as soon as possible. I did what every person most likely does and went right on the internet looking for a mover. After recieving a million calls I finally spoke to Brad at National Moving Group, I explained my whole story and was so skeptical about picking a mover over the phone to someone I had never MET! After going over all the information Brad gave me a fair price which I thought was a little high but he assured me that everything was going to go as planned and I was getting a great deal. Well this is why I am writing this review not only did it go great, but I was able to get all my furniture down to south carolina without a problem the movers who showed up at my house in indiana were just so nice and did a great job packing, I promised Brad that if everything went well I would leave this great review. If you need a great company call national moving group and speak to Brad he is the BEST I wish I can just give him a hug. Thank you so much National Moving and Brad I will defintley be refering your name to any one I hear is moving. .

Terrible Company.

Avoid National Moving Group - These guys are Brokers! They will low bid your move and broker your move out without telling you the real details of how things are going to work. Then they will try to up the bid any way they can after the fact once moving company is on the scene or has your stuff. Even worse once your stuff is in the hands of the mover you will not be able to find out where your items are or when it will arrive even though you have been given other information.  One of the more stressful experiences of my life was dealing with these guys. It didn't have to be this way.

Long-distance move from Missouri to Washington

Worst Moving Company !!

I would give minus 5 rating to them if I could !!

Both the NATIONAL MOVING GROUP and the LIBERTY RELOCATIONS are CHEATERS, LIARS, FRAUD, THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANIES ON THE PLANET!

PLEASE NEVER FALL PREY TO THEM! NEVER EVER DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM!!  I swear to the God, if you do business with them, you’ll have the worst nightmare and most horrifying time of your lifetime!!

Please read further if you want to hear my story.

I recently moved from STL, MO to Redmond, WA. I signed up a contract with Brad from National Moving Group and they in turn hired "Liberty Relocation" (US DOT:2205690  MC:765351) to deliver my household stuff.

After 3 weeks of misery, innumerable calls, follow ups and horrifying experience, finally they delivered my stuff (5 Big items were missing and 1 Big item got damaged).  I am not counting the small items which got distorted.

Immediately after, I gave my credit card details and the deal got signed, I could see that I was trapped. Every single day and at every single step, I and my family were treated like a “HELD HOSTAGE”.  They keep on bringing HIDDEN COSTs to your surprise and for everything they point to some hidden clause on the paper which you would have never cared for.

As per the deal, I had to pay $1875 for household stuff and an additional $1200 for the car. They forced me to pay over $2300 for household stuff instead of $1875. Car transfer was not that horrifying experience, so not including that part of the story. After dozens of calls, I was asked to deliver the car 5 miles away from my home and yes, initially they demanded an additional $100 for a Saturday delivery but later on after a few calls/request, they agreed to deliver it for $1200.

On the day of household item Delivery, the truck driver (Rame Masarwe) started illogical altercations and demanded $1000 instead of the due amount $650. When I agreed to give $1000 (ALL CASH), he said "Give me money in hand, then only I'll open the truck". He was the most unprofessional guy I have ever met. He held me a hostage and took undue advantage of my situation. He was very shrewd and cunning guy and his face and his smile were vividly telling about that.

The community manager had to call 911 to handle him.

So, instead of $1875, I paid over $2300 and wasted so much of my time and energy calling National Moving Group and Liberty Relocation for my own stuff and got the worst and the most unprofessional service possible!

Also, just wanted to mention that the driver (Name was ARI) who came to pick up my stuff in STL was a JERK too and he also got $110 extra from me. The total amount $770 was given to him all in CASH. That time, I had no idea what I’d be going through over next 3 weeks.
