Long-distance move from Nevada to Florida

I will definitely be using National again in the future!

I love how my things are very well taken care of. The group is very courteous, professional, and yes, careful. Looks like they have moved my entire condo's worth of stuff out of a storage unit from Nevada to Florida. These people were very gentle with my stuff. Everything was just the same as it was before we moved, and they did everything is a breeze. I will surely recommend and use this mover again. Its worth every penny. Thanks.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Florida

My moving experinece.

Ladies and Gentlemen, If you see National Moving "Group" on your inquiries or paperwork; RUN RUN RUN as fast as you can.  They are "NOT" a moving company.  They are a broker who charges you $1600.00 to make a phone call to a second rate mover like "Best Price Movers" out of Chicago.  That is definitely another name to avoid.  They hired Best Price to move me without telling me.  Best Price did over $4500.00 worth of damage to my belongings.  They offered me $375.00 to settle.  That is not the worst thing. I am now retired after 31 years of serving in the US military to protect the Americans rights.  Best Price has the audacity to make an offer to settle and have me sign my rights away.  This is what they sent to me. If I agree to accept their piddly offer of $375.00 for all the damage they did ($4500.00) I must agree to "no further claims, complaints, statements or actions may be taken or reported to any state, city, governnment, insurance, consumer group, public, media organization, internet website or credit card agency.   ARE THEY KIDDING? I did not serve 31 years in the Military for them to try and strip me or any other American of their rights.   I hope you agree. Stay away from National Moving Group and Best Price on Kostner Rd in Chicago or you will be very sorry.  Attached is just 1 of over 50 pictures that I have that will show you what theee follks did. Stay tuned I will be posting all year long.  I wish I knew how attach photos, I woulkd but I don't.  If you want to see them email me at simplemeans@yahoo.com.  Now for an ending to this rant, After I confronted National about all the negative post they said well "You can't put a lot of stock in those posts because if someone has a bad experience they write about but if they have a pleasant experince you never hear from them".  I submit that they are lying.

National Moving Group Review.

For our first long distance move, to say I was cautious about using a moving company  was an understatement. After being flooded with calls and emails after requesting a few quotes online, I finally settled on National Moving Group. The quote was inline and the contact Jeff at NMG was very personable and made me feel confident we would be taken care of. Jeff and his team were in constant contact leading up to the move, providing tips to avoid any last minute fees or additions. I found the team thrived to be transparent and answered all questions very quickly. I was very pleased overall with the customer service. Jeff especially was very friendly and worked to go above and beyond to meet our needs.Although we did have some issues with the carrier such as some confusion with the pick up time, overall we were very pleased with our experience with NMG. Our shipment arrived on time with no issues. NMG's staff was very professional and worked to over communicate throughout the process.

My National Moving Group Review.

I was on Yellow Pages and searched "National Moving Companies" and came across National Moving Group this morning. I called in based on the 5 star reviews. I can easily see why this company is top rated! Double thumbs up on my moving coordinator Mitch. The other companies I called after getting my free quote just did not compare. Mitch was complete in details, gave me a complete buying experience. He even took me to U-hual and we side by side compared the prices from full service to me doing the work my self. I am still considering both, however, time is an issue so I believe I will be calling Mitch this Monday to finalize my booking. I also will be letting Yellow Pages know they had a great pick with National Moving Group.

Great move!!

This was the easiest move we ever had. So pleased with the company. Each person we spoke to during our booking etc were knowledgable and polite. After shopping around we feel we got an excellent price. Everything went according to plan and last but not least everything arrived as we hoped it would, damage free!!
Thank you to Jenna, Liz and Frank.
We will most definitely use this company again.

Long-distance move from California to Florida

Horrible company! Beware and think twice!

Please trust when I say that this place is a joke and go with a reputable mover like Mayflower or Unite. In the end, you will end up paying the same and your items will be delivered, picked up and shipped in one piece with an accurate price from the beginning.

I called back in April and received a quote of my stuff, I talked to Chris and even emailed him our conversation to make sure I understood correctly. I was originally quoted $2k and at the time thoroughly explained what was coming. Items in a 5x15 storage unit, plus additional items from a 2 bedroom apt. Instead of listening to me, the customer. He severely underestimated my belongings and quantity of items so when the final inventory list was given the number of items was double (as I tried to explain to him in the beginning) when he kept telling me I was "overestimating" the quantity of items and their cubic feet and weight.

I explained I would rather estimate high than be in a situation in 3 months where the price doubled (as I've heard of that happening then people are stuck) he was so nice and helpful at the time and said "that doesn't happen with our company".. Well low and behold, I've been calling for over two weeks to update the inventory and go over the final details and Jenna was supposed to call me back.. After two phone calls today I spoke with Todd who is a manager in the QA dept and guess what?!?

My 2k quote just came to over 8500k!! Surprise surprise. Todd knowing that I was upset told me how Chris, who I originally spoke with was incorrect in telling me the cubic feet was the issue and it goes by weight and supposedly my stuff went from 3000 pounds to now over 9000 so my price quadrupled. Apparently, some extra boxes, a few dressers, and an air compressor weigh over 6000 pounds! Who knew?

Meanwhile, they have never come out to look at or estimate my items, I've done ALL the legwork and they've got over $1k from me I will never see.

I called Mayflower and explained the situation and got ahold of a manager there that not only was extremely helpful and explained that these practices are common with "brokers" who basically steal your money and most of the time do not even deliver your goods on time or in one piece if you're lucky to receive them at all! After looking at reviews online I am NOT the only one this has happened to and seems to happen frequently with this company! The reality is I could've called the company transporting my items directly and not even dealt with National who did nothing but steal over $1000 from me basically.

It's a $1000 mistake on my part to learn, please don't make the same one as me and go with an honest and reputable company from the start, one like Mayflower who will come out from the start and give you an accurate estimate and not charge you a dime until your items are packed, shipped and unloaded safely at their destination. THAT is how aL and reputable moving company is supposed to work!

Now I have to fly across country at the last minute, take time off of work and haul my own items across country with U-Haul because of all this. Not to mention I wore real nights and have spent ALL day on the phone scrambling to make it come together at the last minute. Meanwhile, those who have stolen over $1000 from me can only say "I know you are upset over your price more than doubling but respectfully ma'am, you doubled your items." So moral of the story is explaining to their estimator what I had and him underestimating to give me a low ball price which caused my items to double. Quadrupled my final price.

Long-distance move from Ohio to California

Avoid this company.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with ANY company, not just movers. Here's a summary of what happened:

Among other hassles, National committed an administrative error that resulted in a two week delay in the delivery of my shipment of household goods and cost me several hundred dollars.

I emailed National to schedule my delivery, and then called the next day to confirm everything was all set. National confirmed that we were good to go and that my delivery was scheduled as requested.

I waited about two weeks and called back a few days before the scheduled delivery in order to re-confirm that we were on schedule. At this time, National realized they had failed to take any action on my request. They had simply sat on the information for the previous two weeks. The rep I was working with, Thomas McGarry, blamed the error on National's customer service department. The customer service department blamed it on Thomas.

Because of this delay, I was forced to spend several hundred dollars on temporary housing while I waited for my shipment of household goods to arrive.

Not only did National Moving Group deny my request to be reimbursed for my additional expense, they were incredibly difficult to work with. On six different occasions, their customer service department failed to follow up with me on the timeline they promised. As soon as they had my money, they basically stopped paying any attention to me.

Avoid this company at all costs!

Long-distance move from Texas to Virginia

Avoid this company at all costs.

This was the most miserable moving experience I could have imagined. The communication with this company is horrible. They don't answer calls, make empty promises on prices, and handle your items like they're indestructible. Also, just go ahead and disregard whatever day they claim they'll be there to deliver your stuff because I almost guarantee it won't be on that day. They tacked on a whole extra week and a half to our move and we wouldn't have ever even known if my wife hadn't called them first. When your boxes DO end up getting in, expect boxes to be wet and busted up, items to be missing, and God help you if you packed any glass, because it's a pretty safe bet that you'll be replacing it once you get wherever it is that you're going. The travel claim isn't a whole lot better, either. You'll get some girl on the other line who takes your contact information, says she'll call you back in 10 minutes once she has passed the word up to her "manager," and then when 30 minutes passes and she still hasn't called you back, you'll call her and she'll tell you how sorry she is and how upset you must be and she'll assure you that her manager is on the phone right now "screaming" at the responsible party. Seriously, my wife and I both called at different times and she said almost verbatim the same thing to both of us. This whole move was just a huge fiasco. I don't know who I'll be contracting for my next move, but I guarantee it won't be National Moving Group. If there were a way to give less than one star, I'd do it.

Long-distance move from South Carolina to Georgia

Exceptional Service from National Moving Group.

Whenever I need to move again, I will always first choose National Moving Group (NMG) because of their timeliness, reasonable prices and unparalleled customer service. My job required me to move from South Carolina to Georgia in a matter of two weeks and the only way I was only to make that successful transition happen was because of the representatives at NMG. I researched other moving companies in the area for quotes, but they took days to follow-up with me, weren't polite, and had extremely high prices. When I reached out to NMG via their website, a representative called back in less than 3 minutes to follow-up with my request. I spoke with Erick Schwartz from NMG, and after I told him where I was moving and my inventory list, he quoted me at half the price that other companies had. During that same call, Erick provided me with extensive details about the next steps in order to move forward: the three payments, who would be in charge of the different steps of my move and what I could expect on moving day. He also was consistently available to answer all of the questions that I had throughout the process. Four days before my move, Alyssa, another NMG rep called me to confirm my inventory list, give me my pick-up date and time information and answer my lingering questions. Two days before my move, I spoke with the driver in charge of my move, Jeff from Source 1. He called to confirm the time he would be coming for pick-up. On the day of move-in, Jeff called me an hour before he arrived at my apartment. His team of five movers came on time and had everything moved out of my place in less than an hour. Even though it was after their 7pm "business hours", they drove that same night to get my items to my new (3rd floor) apartment safely, with no scratches, no dents and no breaks. The gentlemen were polite, efficient and timely. After my move was complete, the next day, the rep from NMG called back to follow-up on how the process went. Knowing that there was someone to walk me through this entire transition helped to relieve some of the stressors that I anticipated and for that I am truly grateful. .

Awful!

Do NOT USE! Please read all 1 star reviews carefully. We had a terrible experience with this company. You can find my full detailed review of them on Yelp. But I strongly encourage you to not add any additional stress to your move by going with National! Once they have your money, they could care less what happens to you! If we had done our reserach properly, we would never, even have booked them. Scam artists who book horrible van lines that make you sign new contracts for nearly 3x the price National quotes! Nothing on the contracts match and though Frank makes promises to help- they are all empty and this company leaves you hanging in the end to deal with whatever awful movers they've outsourced you to.

Excellent Movers.

Source 1 Movers, headed by Anthony Brandon and his team of three very efficient young men, made our move from Pittsburgh, PA to Myrtle Beach SC a practically stress-free experience. After hearing some horror stories from friends who had moved state-to state I was very worried. It turns out I didn't need to worry at all. The men arrived at the pick-up site when they said they would be there. They were very professional, efficient and personable. They packed our furniture carefully and loaded the truck with all of our boxes and containers in just a few hours. Anthony told us they could be at our new home in two days with a late afternoon/early evening time. We chose to have them arrive early on the morning of the third day instead for our convenience. Again, they arrived on time and very efficiently unloaded our belongings and placed them in our new home exactly where I wanted them to be. We had no damaged items, no lost items and everything arrived in the condition it was packed. If you are looking for responsible, dependable movers this company will meet or exceed your expectations.

Amazing company.

I just moved from Florida to California and I couldn't have asked for a smoother move! The three movers that showed up to my house to pick up my items treated it as if it was their own. It arrived in a timely matter. My furniture ended up weighing less when they weighed the truck so my bill was less than what I thought I had to pay. If your debating on going with national moving group or another company, CHOOSE NATIONAL!! They were worth every dollar! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Avoid.

They were awesome and super helpful until we paid the deposit, They pulled the same low estimate scam everyone else is talking about, they still charged me 200 dollars for wrapping the couch when I told them to leave the "extra". The sub contractor they sent actually wanted to take the pillows off my couch put them in wardrobe boxes and charge me 25 dollars for the box, 35 to pack it and then add cubic feet to the move. I spoke to National and they said they would take care of it since my estimate was for pounds. I don't even think they called, I have called 4 times with a promise of a manger calling me back. Nothing. I was then given less than 24 hours notice for delivery, the window was 12-4 pm it is now 8 pm with no show yet. I am in the military and move often and I can say with absolute confidence that this is the either a scam or the worst moving company in existence. STAY AWAY FROM NATIONAL MOVING GROUP, USE A REPUTABLE COMPANY.

Note the cost of my move is only this low because I had them leave about half my boxes behind. Luckily I had another option.

Awful Company!!

WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD!!
This company took our money and treated our furniture horribly! Our coffee table, sofa table, nightstand, lingerie chest, and dining room table all came in with damage. In addition, our clothes, iComfort bed, pillows, blankets, and outdoor cushions were all water soaked and moldy. Any glass items we had (vases, picture frames, etc..) were either chipped or broken. After posting a previous review on their website, Frank called, (Now I hear from him) and he offered me $50 to remove my review. He promised to help resolve our issues with all the damages they did, but I never heard from Frank again. Maybe it's because I refused to remove my review. Very unprofessional company with employees that cannot be trusted.

Very pleased with my move!

I moved from New York to Boynton Beach, FL in December and I worked with National Moving Group. The experience was quite seamless and as stress free as long distance moving can be. Awesome Experience.

I started the moving experience with low expectations, having not moved before and hearing other peoples' moving company disasters. National Moving Group was awesome. They were straightforward right from the beginning and the customer service was excellent. They were honest, professional and inexpensive and really took pride in their work. We packed our own items but when the guys came to pick it up they added extra padding and worked hard to make the process super simple and easy! Same goes for the delivery! No hidden costs, very open and honest!!

Happy with my move.

When I contracted national moving group I was very worried about them servicing my move, due to seeing some other reviews online that were bad, and then the other companies trying to obtain my business it was so hard making a choice. State to State move.

This company tells you everything they want to you hear and believe. However, quite the different story when things go terribly wrong and they do not stand behind the client. The contractor used a third party that was as crooked as could be. All of my wood furniture was damaged to some degree and some things were broken even though they were packed solid. Then upon delivery, they would not bring the truck to the apt and did not offer to carry one piece of furniture, etc. up to my apt. What a disaster. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Deceptive Sales Practices.

National Moving Group did not refund my initial down payment after I cancelled the service but they should have because they agreed to extend the cancellation policy and I cancelled several days prior to the cancellation date.
After talking with David Brown who is a sales representative for National Moving Group for a couple of months, I agreed to go with their service for a long distance move. I explained in detail in advance that we would need an extension on the cancellation agreement prior to the contract and David said he received approval from the owner and put it in writing that we had until March 21, 2017 instead of the usual 72 hours. I agreed and paid a down payment based on this agreement, then on March 19th, and again on March 20th, and 21st I cancelled the agreement within the allotted time frame and requested a refund. David did not return any of the 5 emails or the phone call, but I did receive an email from the owner of the company denying my refund stating that I only had 72 hours instead of the agreed upon extension. I have now spent an exorbitant amount of time trying to receive the refund but we agreed upon it in advance.
I have had subsequent conversations with National Moving Group since and they have been rude and untruthful. David Brown lied to me during the initial contract negotiation and he then later came clean and admitted that he lied. Since he admitted the lie and agreed to extend the cancellation policy from 72 hours through March 21st I went ahead and decided to work with this company and the proceeded to provide a very competitive quote and gave me $500 off the price of the move. Subsequently, after numerous emails and phone calls I’ve received conflicting information and they have proven to be, in my opinion, a very deceptive company that practices deceptive business practices. Ultimately, on March 22, 2017 Frank Anthony (company owner) emailed me and said that Todd, the dispatch manager will handle my refund, then Todd called and said he won’t honor the refund. Todd said that Frank is not accountable to what he said because he is so busy he can't be responsible to know what every contract says, in fact, Todd said that National Moving Group handles 200 moves a week. With that kind of business, I don’t see how they have time to give me such a hard time with the refund of the deposit.
Conclusion: They offered me a service, said I could cancel and receive a refund within an allotted amount of time, then refused to process the refund even though I cancelled several days before the deadline. My opinion is that this company cannot be trusted at all, they are not truthful, and they practice deceptive sales practices.

Worthy of Recommendation.

I did not plan to call any moving company for my move but I realized that there were things I could not do alone so I had to look for a good moving firm. As I tried to get some quotes on moving companies, I came about this company which I particularly liked because of their price and profile. I told them the little stuff I needed their help in packing and loading and that I will take care of the rest but these guys insisted on doing everything. I have not seen a moving company as nice as this and that is why I give recommendation for this company. This moving company sent out young and energetic boys to my house and I was afraid that they will be inexperienced movers. Even though I did not know yet whether they were or not but I must recommend them for their competence and great work done.

National Moving Group.

This was the first time set up a move, moving half way across the country. I was reached out by Tom, he seemed very geuwine and had my best interest at heart, and that is why I stuck with him. When it came to receiving payment he could be reached any hour of the day. About 2 weeks later I needed to make a change/cancellation he could not be reached. The reason for the cancellation was because the company I started to work for was paying for the entire move and I was not aware, but you had to go through there moving services. When I needed Tom he never returned any of my text or calls. My travel counselor through the company stated that national moving group should of been aware that if you were moving due to work the company may cover the moving expenses. I felt very taken advantage of in the situation. I put down $542. It took 5 days to get a response back from customer service, when I could not reach Tom. When disputed the charge with my bank they quickly responded. Overall I'm going to say understand your contract and what you are getting into and do not be persuaded. That is there job. In the end I was giving 30% back but I really feel un easy about the situation and would never recommend this company. 30% is nothing when they will keep $382 of your money and still fill that space in the truck that you canceled. My move was 2/27. Tom told me if I ever needed to change my dates it would not be a problem, so if I can change my dates with ease there would still be a possibility you would have empty space on a truck whether I cancel or move dates. Again I'm easy about the situation.

Do NOT Use National Moving Group.

Drivers were not on time for the pickup of my belongs… lied to me multiple times and National Moving was zero help with the situation

I was told my move would be done with NMG trucks (it was
not), additionally the help line is a voicemail of some guy
who doesn't have any communication with your actual drivers

I did not receive my belongings until about 2 weeks after my delivery date… every time I called for an update they just kept saying "I don't know"

You are supposed to get an advance window of when your stuff will be dropped off… I got a call at 1:00 on a Saturday that they would arrive at 10:00am the following Sunday morning, they arrived at 6:00am and were mad at me when I
wasn't awake and ready for them to come in

When the driver showed up to drop off my stuff he said I had to pay him an extra $250 dollars if I wanted it… the number of flights included in the NMG contract and the one on his form (he was a brokered company) were different

The company broke one of my bookshelves and lost a nightstand

Moral of the story… it was a nightmare and I would suggest anyone but National Moving.

Job Well Done.

I went on the Internet Searçhing for the best way to move based on my budget. I received more calls then I wanted and after speaking with more companies then I wanted to it became overwhelming? Everyone I spoke to would berate their competition until they put the fear of hiring anyone into me. I took one last call and instead of asking me who else I spoke with my representative spoke about what she could offer me. After an extensive conversation about my needs and budget I was convinced National Moving Group was my best choice. Although the cost was slightly higher then all the others I felt I was paying more for piece of mind. I could not be  happier and would recommend this company to all my family and friends.

Incredibly Fast Service.

Right off the bat, the sales rep was funny and got me what I needed. I found out what I had to do for my move, like not buy groceries or perishables 2 weeks before the move. That I can save time with the movers by pre-disassembling anything that needs to be disassembled. Stuff like that. We agreed on a certain amount of boxes and estimated a weight and from there chose the truck size, how many movers I would need, and my estimate from there. We agreed at $2300 and my move was set for the 3rd of October with a two day pickup window. I got a call 5 days before asking if anything had changed and nothing had so we were good to go. The movers came on the second day of the pickup window which was slightly disappointing but the guys were so laid back and chill that I wasn't even bothered. They worked fast and were gentle with all my stuff. They loaded and drove and were at my new place in Boca Raton 6 days later. Great service. Finally unpacked. Time to give my thanks.

Please note that move prices can vary greatly based on factors like home size and distance between locations as well as supplemental services like packing and assembly.

The market averages are generated from reviews on our review sites from the last 3 years. To get more precise moving quotes, please consider using our moving estimator.
