I went on the Internet Searçhing for the best way to move based on my budget. I received more calls then I wanted and after speaking with more companies then I wanted to it became overwhelming? Everyone I spoke to would berate their competition until they put the fear of hiring anyone into me. I took one last call and instead of asking me who else I spoke with my representative spoke about what she could offer me. After an extensive conversation about my needs and budget I was convinced National Moving Group was my best choice. Although the cost was slightly higher then all the others I felt I was paying more for piece of mind. I could not be happier and would recommend this company to all my family and friends.
Right off the bat, the sales rep was funny and got me what I needed. I found out what I had to do for my move, like not buy groceries or perishables 2 weeks before the move. That I can save time with the movers by pre-disassembling anything that needs to be disassembled. Stuff like that. We agreed on a certain amount of boxes and estimated a weight and from there chose the truck size, how many movers I would need, and my estimate from there. We agreed at $2300 and my move was set for the 3rd of October with a two day pickup window. I got a call 5 days before asking if anything had changed and nothing had so we were good to go. The movers came on the second day of the pickup window which was slightly disappointing but the guys were so laid back and chill that I wasn't even bothered. They worked fast and were gentle with all my stuff. They loaded and drove and were at my new place in Boca Raton 6 days later. Great service. Finally unpacked. Time to give my thanks.
Great Experience and Service for a Cross Country Move.
National Moving Group, Inc. Made my unexpected Cross-Country move much less stressful. They were very helpful and professional every step of the way. It was a pleausre working with Frank, Frankie, Richard, and Liz. They have prompt customer service and are very easy to get a hold of. They answered any questions I had and I would definitely use them again and recommend them to any friends or family that is doing a long distance move. .
I recently acquired a new position at a firm in northern California and I was somewhat nervous with regards to both the availability and the cost of the moving services available. National Moving Group was able to alleviate my woes with straightforward salesmen, reasonable pricing, and splendid expediency. After conference with a kind and capable salesman who guided me through the process, a very reasonable rate was presented to me which surpassed the other companies I had previously researched. The salesperson gave me a three day window for the pickup and the movers arrived on the first day. The movers were extremely cautious with my furniture and clearly cared for their clientele and procuring their satisfaction. None of the items I was moving were damaged or marred in anyway and the move was completed in very short time indeed. I would highly recommend National Moving Group to any person who is looking for interstate moving services. .
I was only moving two bedrooms and a living room full of furniture from portland to west virginia and needed a mover fast I just left my ex wife and needed to get back to normality. I ended up calling a few moving companies than finally landed national moving group after about 1 hour I recieved my quote on email, I called richie back and said lets move forward. The day the moving company showed up everything started moving pretty fast. The head guy told me I hope your ready to move because in 3 hours ill have this house packed up and ready to go they were with some relocation company out of seattle that National hired to complete my moving job. everything went great I am very pleased I went with national. had me back home in the matter of 12 days. .
My experience with this company was very good. Before the pick up, the agent on the phone, Richard A, asked many important questions that I had not even thought about and this made the move so much easier. We went over in detail about every item, size and dimention. Packaging,if we were boxing or if we wanted them to do it. Their movers were professionals at wrapping and boxing. The truck was loaded in the order in which I intended to unload most important items first. The agent was very helpful in explaining the costs, including taxes or any aditional charge. They arrived to my house in NY right on time and had their shoes covered in order to not dirty the floor ( I thought that was a nice touch, especially when they got to my new house in Florida). They were able to unload the entire truck in 3 and a half hours. They brought all furniture to its place. Everything was unwrapped so that I could inspect all the items. They took all the boxes and wrapping materials away when they left. I am happy to report, nothing was damaged and everything arrived in one piece. Thank you so much for doing a great job. I never knew there were so many details involved with moving and thanks to your experienced agent, we covered all the details and I am now Floridian that is all moved in. I would highly recommend this company. Very experienced in their field and made the transition very smooth. Not that I intend to move again, but if that were the case, I would use them again. Thank you again!!
I contracted with national moving group, over the phone and spoke with todd he assured me my move would go well and it sure did. He told me everything was going to go by weight when the movers showed up they had an empty weight ticket they loaded all my furniture on the truck and in about 3 hours later we were done. I have to say national moving group was a great company to deal with from start to finish they were with me. upon on delivery national moving group called and asked me how everything went I was so happy if you are looking for a mover national moving group is the company to go with. .
The truck driver had to go from our home town of Ogden, Utah to sunny San Marcos, California. The drive is normally at least a day or so depending on whether or not you stop to eat and sleep. But the driver got there in just a day. The movers were really quick but they didn't break or damage a thing. Those guys are professionals. We had all the boxes packed really well and weighed so we knew we weren't passing our estimate and end up with a more expensive move. They also sent someone at a separate time to make sure before the move we were within our quote. Everything was loaded safely and delivered so quickly. I was almost worried he stuff would get there before us! They told us it could take up to a week. I didn't expect it to arrive on the first day they gave us in that window. I am forever grateful.
This is most worst Service I have received so far in my life..Please don't get trap in this moving service..Recently, I moved from Ohio to TN and they cheated me like anything..First they gave my movement to third party which showed that National Mover is nothing but broker and third party showed up at my door after 2 days of promised date which messed up everything and moreover, they charged lots of extra money as I was helpless.
When I choose national moving group I was so extremely nervous however Todd spoke to me and explained everything to me how it all works which put me at ease. The day the movers showed up they were extremely professional wrapped all my furniture and had the truck loaded in 4 hours. The only little problem I had delivery was 1 day late that is why I gave them 4 stars, but overall the move went great.
I had my house goods picked up near Phoeniix on Sept.17,2015.I was told that I should have it picked up 14 to 16 days early so it would be in Florida by the time I wanted it.Which I stated would be Oct.1.On Oct.1, I was told my truck would be arriving in 7-9 days.Today is the 7th day and I called to make sure it was coming this weekend.I have been told now that it hasn't even left Phoenix and they probably won't be here for another 7-14 days. This company is the absolute WORST! A warning to all---go with someone else. maybe after they read this,I won't see my stuff till Christmas.
I don't normally write reviews. However after my move with national, Thomas my coordinator asked politely if I could leave a review. My experience was better than I expected. The move was on time and had a couple hiccups, but nmg's customer service handled everything to perfection. The driver had alil bit of a potty mouth, but after all they are "truck drivers". Overall, I would use them again! Thank you guys!
BUYER BEWARE!! In July 2015, I contracted with National Moving Group for a move from Nashville to Colorado. After doing some research into moving companies, it was in my opinion, that I would have been charged a much higher rate at the end of the move due to some vague items (didn't list the carrier moving our stuff or the storage facility, price could be based on weight or cubic feet) in the contract. I tried to cancel two weeks later and was told it was past the 72 hour cancellation time and I would lose my deposit. I was not aware of this ridiculous short term cancellation policy. It was in the contract, but in normal type in the middle of a long contract! None of the employees I talked to warned me of their ridiculous and unfair policy. In my opinion, they take advantage of consumers by not verbally mentioning the policy and probably get to keep a lot of deposits for very little work!! I did try to dispute the charge with my credit card company, but with no luck. The rep that I contracted with also used high pressure tactics to get me to sign a contract (said the price was heavily discounted and only good if I signed that day).
If you want to be on edge then go with this company.
They are nice on the phone to get your business. Once you pay, the rate will change and no telling who will show up to move your things. They are brokers and work with movers all over the states. It is about the dollar. I had to wait days for all my items and they had someone else's things on the truck, so all of mine would not fit. Thus, I had to wait until another truck came this way. We were left without bed frames and mattresses; thus, we had to sleep on the floor of our new place. It was terrible! The movers damaged items and could care less! I lost a $375.00 lamp. It may not be a lot to you but I work hard for my money and choose to not throw it away. I lost big time going with this company and will never choose someone who cannot come and survey my items for an accurate moving cost. The amount went up four thousand! A total rip off!! I will never forget this moving experience-ever!
National Moving Group (broker) and Unique Moving and Storage (carrier / pick-up)
Problems in pick-up and delivery; unannounced change of carrier; promised return calls do not happen; no delivery schedule provided
We moved several times (within Europe, trans-Atlantic and in-State). This move was from Michigan to Utah - large house to large house. National Moving Group (NMG) offers moving broker services to ensure a smooth moving experience. NMG’s representative creates a very positive and trustworthy picture. Unfortunately that was about as positive as it gets. Once the contracts were signed and we paid NMG we had to deal with other people and NMG in general did a huge step backwards – directing us to communicate with the subcontracted carrier directly. As soon as we signed the papers with the carrier, NMG was legally out of the picture and we didn’t receive any service in terms of “a smooth moving experience”: When signing the contract with National Moving Group (NMG) we were told: - the move would take around 2 weeks (around June 26th) - executing carrier company to be Olympia Relocation (A BBB) - representative would review item list shortly before pickup - packing/loading on 2 days due to size of move A representative called a few days before the set moving date to confirm final packing list. Many very large furniture items were sold and taken off the list. The moving price dropped only marginally - explained as the quote being based on a certain volume/weight tier and the item reduction not being substantial enough (a 7 seat patio wicker furniture combo plus a full 8 seat metal patio table/chair set ??).
The carrier called on Wednesday, 1 day before originally planned start date for packing/pick-up (Thursday), to "confirm" they would pick-up on June 12 (Friday). One day only for packing and loading. Carrier did not follow the discussed 2 days (packing and loading). Our explanation about the size of the move was ignored - no attempt made to have packers coming on Thursday as confirmed by NMG. Calling NMG did not result in any resolution of the situation - "this is a carrier matter" we were told. The carrier that showed up on Friday was not the announced Olympia Relocation, IL (A rating with BBB) but Unique Moving and Storage, OH (UMS). UMS is listed with only 1 motor unit and 1 driver (D rating with BBB). No information on carrier change was provided by NMG. No chance to review carrier and react on bad ratings. This feels a lot like a Bait and Switch tactic! UMS turned up with one small rental truck explaining that another truck would follow. Now we learned that the goods would go to a warehouse to be reloaded to a bigger truck. Again – at this point we were out of options since we had to get everything packed and going on that day. NMG did not state that the moving goods would be brought to the carriers warehouse to be unloaded, stored and reloaded to a different container/truck. Due to increased possibility of damages and lost items this is something we’d have never agreed to. A few items were added at walk-through. Definitely not more than what the original quote volume was. Price increased significantly (no saying of the prior described volume/weight tier) over original quoted value. We called NMG - answer: "this is reasonable" and we should pay. Driving price up when we were at point of no return did not leave us without options. 3 people from UMS struggled to pack and load in one day - requiring a significant amount of help from our side until about 1.30am on Saturday morning. Wife fetched food and drinks to keep crew motivated.
Upon unpacking we had to realize that the packers did not use any care with our items:
- Drawers were simply turned over and emptied in boxes (e.g. silverware)
- Wardrobe boxes (we paid high price for specific boxes) did not have hangers and all clothes were just dumped in
- Heavy items were thrown into boxes with glass items already packed
- Motorcycles not protected
Upon finishing packing UMS asked me to fill in the earliest date for delivery. I stated 6/16 when I would arrive in Utah. UMS did not explain that this date would set the day 1 for their delivery window.
Multiple calls (sometimes 3 or 4 a day) to NMG and Carrier between 6/16 and 6/30 in order to receive delivery date/window. NMG pretty much returned no call - even though they always promised to investigate and call back in a few minutes or by the end of the day – it did not happen ! We contacted the carrier UMS directly - very nasty attitude towards us and at some point they plainly stated that they would have 17-21 business days (that is 3.5 to 4.5 calendar weeks) after the set date for earliest delivery. Originally stated by NMG: 2 weeks ! Pressuring NMG dispatch they finally confirm that this indeed is according to their contract with UMS. It appears that NMG purposely provided wrong information. A delivery window was finally provided on June 30 - stating July 9 through 13 (4 to 4.5 calendar weeks after pick-up). Reason provided was overwhelmed trucks due to peak season and that UMS at that point was trying to find a driver ! No resolution when we requested expediting of shipment.
The contact to the driver of the delivering truck was provided on 7/6 – delivery happened on 7/9. The actual carrier executing the transport was LV Moving – another carrier. Neither NMG nor UMS ever stated that UMS would outsource to another company – however – since UMS apparently does not own trucks and drivers this was to be expected. Experience with LV Moving see below.
We had many broken and damaged items. Luckily most higher value items made it OK or we could repair them. As for our precious motorcycles, they were loaded without care. Handlebar ends were used to anchor the bikes in the truck – chrome all scratched. A seat had a nice hole in it – the bikes were not at all crated or protected with padding. Someone just put a piece of cardboard over them. One kickstand was bent backwards. To protect the bikes in case they would fall someone put one of our bed-mattresses under it (mattress not wrapped in plastics or so – all dirty upon arrival (luckily it was a spare one). An air-hockey table was disassembled but only protected with a little cardboard. Most plastic parts (goals, corners, etc.) were broken. The feet of the table were broken and I needed to build metal braces to reassemble the table. A broken fish tank (brilliant idea to put it in a box with no indication of “glass / handle with care”, many broken smaller items and the need to get all suits and shirts (they were just dumped into boxes) cleaned and ironed are just some of the other issues. Many boxes seemed to have gotten wet and some metal items showed rust on them – apparently our stuff had been sitting outside or in a very humid environment for quite some time.
Services provided from NMG and UMS were lousy – no help to solve issues. Contracting NMG as a broker to “help organizing a smooth move” was actually the first step to creating the worst moving experience ever.
LV Moving (actual carrier executing the transport)
Tim from LV Moving actually turned out to be a very good guy and he provided the positive service we expected. Tim turned up exactly at the time he had told us before. In addition to the 2 drivers 3 other local guys showed up for unloading. Tim was concerned since when he was loading he saw a lot of damaged boxes. The guys unpacked and tested electronics (TV, etc) to make sure they were undamaged and we opened several boxes to check on damages. These guys were extremely friendly and worked great. They got everything in the house – no damages to walls, floors, etc. – re-assembled furniture (as far as they could because several hardware items were missing), and even took away a lot of the empty boxes. This crew was just great – unfortunately the damage was already done by Unique Moving and Storage’ lousy group – nothing Tim and his guys could change.
My whole family decided to move from Rockville, MD because our family business was no longer doing well. Denver, Colorado was our destination, with a promise for a larger profit margin. We lived in a two family setting and needed a mover who could handle all our things. I was tasked to search for a really good mover and after a number of enquiries here and there as well as a careful search online, National Moving Group seemed to be the best option for us, and thankfully I was not wrong. Our collaboration with their moving crew including the foreman was excellent. I loved how they treated my parents and I think that with such quality service, these guys will always stand out as the movers of choice for many people in Maryland and the country as a whole.
Initially, I though the act of relocation was one boring and tedious one. Two of my close neighbours had moved out and I saw how they were stressed during the whole thing. I was not willing to go through the same experience but it seemed there was no way out. Having been given a transfer to move to Alabama, all I could do was to follow the orders. Having no option left, I went in search of the ideal relocation company. I came across National Moving Group and they were willing enough to offer me assistance. I hired them out and they did a commendable job. I wouldn’t mind giving them yet another chance of working for me.
LESS THAN 1 STAR! DON'T - DO NOT - hire these people! (First, don't you find it strange that there's a positive review almost every day..PLANTED!) They are NOT the actual movers! This company hires sub-contractors and they don't care what kind of companies they hire to handle your stuff. I hired National Moving Group to move my elderly mom and dad across 4 states, 1600 miles. They assured me that mom and dad would have NO STRESS but that was just the start of the empty promises! They quoted a price per pound for the household things but then many more things were added to this bill which ended up being astronomical. Then they hired JT Express Movers out of Missouri and THEN is when the real nightmare began! This guy happens to own a truck, that's about the only positive thing I can say. The SECOND he arrived at my mom's house he asked them for $500 and she said no, he negotiated $300! When she called me, I called National Moving who got JT's boss on the line and he outright denied it! After the phone call, he gave mom her money back! He and his son did not wrap things, combined several rooms into one box, broke countless items and damaged even more! I have dozens of photos to prove it. When my mom called me with concerns about the packing/attitude/truck/promptness etc. we decided to keep our mouths shut till the truck arrived at its destination, since these guys are just the type to hold your stuff hostage! I stopped payment on the credit card payment to both but they weaseled out of it. A $3500 estimated move became $10,500 in total when it was all said and done! National Moving Group is a HUGE rip off! Cut out the middle man! Hire some REPUTABLE movers yourself!
During my last move, I was not really on a budget but I was delighted that National Moving Group allowed me to save some bucks! They handled everything that came their way in a professional and prompt manner. The crew did absolutely everything without any complains and gave me a peace of mind that is so rare during such a time. These guys are very dependable professional movers! They handled everything that came their way in a professional and prompt manner. I like them and would recommend them anytime!
I am just but a casual labourer. I cannot say that I have so much to offer to service providers. That is why I always opt for the cost effective options. When I wanted a relocation service provider, I went to National Moving Group. Given their quotes, I did not expect anything much more than average services. I was all wrong because it turned out to something different. They were so good and effective in their relocation. In terms of service delivery, they were timely and that thrilled me. There is no doubt that I am going for them next time when in need of relocation services.
I won't go through all the details of our experience because I see the same comments in many of the one star reviews: low ball to lure you in, take your money, then disappear. In the initial phone call, they misrepresent themselves and do not disclose significant information. Then, the people really moving your house show up and increase the price A LOT (due to nondisclosure of significant issues and clerical errors on their part: booking the incorrect truck/space for your move) and then tell you, sorry, no refunds. I can't even believe that this company is still in business. How is this not fraud? All you one star reviewers - let's band together and see what we can do about this! My understanding (from legal counsel) is that there is a case for people who have experienced this so, class action lawsuit?
National Moving Group is nothing more than a "load broker". ALL the actual moving is done by sub-contractor's that they hire from various locations around the country. In my case, the movers could barely speak english. They pull you in by telling you they are the only mover that prices their work according to actual weight. Nothing could be further from the truth. Once they get your initial deposit (33%), they got you. No refunds. The movers that showed up were courteous enough but they moved so slow. I had 226 pieces to move which consisted mainly of boxes. 95% of which my wife and I had packed. It took our movers 8 1/2 hours to load their small (straight job) truck. They informed us when they were done that they would bring the load to Brooklyn to sit in a warehouse to be combined with similar loads for the trip south. They stated it would take 3-7 days for the load to arrive in Florida. They presented a CAT scale receipt showing they had weighed the truck before loading and another scale reading would be taken to get the actual weight of our goods before the truck was unloaded at their warehouse. The second scale event never took place. In getting their initial "rough estimate" of the weight value of my "load" the phone people at National had "guessed" at the weights of every item. ie. They guessed my sleep number bed weighed 350lbs. Actual weight is 160. HELLO! It's mostly air and plastic panels. They grouped the boxes into 3 sizes, small, medium and large, and gave an imaginary weight to each. Before they were done, they "guessed" our load to be 8800+lbs. Our cost went from an initial "guess-timate" of $2900 to $3500. During the loading at the shipping point (our old home) I had to call National because of the flim flam the movers were doing with their 7 contracts and various forms they were wanting signed. National told them we were shipping by weight. End of story? No way. The 3-7 days shipping period turned out to be closer to 3 weeks. It took 3 calls, days apart, to finally get our goods delivered. When they arrived (at 4:30PM on a Friday evening) a knock came on the door and all we found was a foreign language speaking guy with no truck in sight and an excuse that they could not get the truck (an oversized 53 ft trailer and 30ft tractor) any closer to the house than a block away. If we wanted our stuff we would have to pay them (in cash) another $500 to hike it to the house on 2 wheel hand trucks. Another frantic call to National where I encountered a rather rude individual who had no inclination to help the situation. 2-3 calls back and forth and the best we could do is for the National rep to agree with the very rude truck driver (broken English speaking) and offer to unload for an additional $250, like she was getting us a deal. When we asked for the second scale ticket she almost laughed when she said there would be none. We were being billed at a total of $3500 PLUS the $250 to unload. This has been the biggest scam we ever fell for. Had I used Mayflower or another reputable mover it would have been far less cost with far less aggravation. Finally at !!pm these clowns put the last of our goods in our car port. They did assemble a couple of our tables, replacing the legs with tools I gave them to use as my wife and I reassembled other pieces. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for HONEST movers. We got the shaft. I hope you won't.
When my father observed that our family business would fetch more profits in Montgomery than we ever achieved in Virginia, it was time to move. My job was to search for a good mover and I landed on National Moving Group from my searches online. We contacted them and they promised to do all the work for us. We were living in a two family fully furnished apartment and we worried we may not be able to move everything expediently. The manager at National Moving Group gave us a reassurance and a friendly quote. After smooth preliminary planning, the crew arrived with all the right tools and embarked on the task straight away. There was a lot to be done, but there were no complaints from the crew. They treated all members of my family with respect and by the end of the move - we all expressed gratitude for their professionalism and affordability.
I had to move a small amount of boxes and furniture from FL to Maine. Jeff at National started out helpful, terrific and attentive until the contract was signed. Then he disappeared. National contracted out the move to another company and when there were issues with that mover on the day of the move, National was no where to be found. Very disappointing. I was unhappy with Ocean Moving, the subcontractor, as well.
Wow. Let me preface this by saying I submitted a bid request online, which then lead to at least 20 independent moving companies bidding it out within 24 hours. National Moving Group was one such group, and as all the companies did, Thomas McGarry (Ext. 255) emailed and followed up by phone. When we got the bids back, National Moving Group quoted over $2,000 higher than any company before them. When my SO received a second follow up call from Tommy, he asked why it was so high considering this move was for less than 300 cubic feet. Rather than explaining the price points, Tommy went off on a tirade about how we are going to get ripped off and to call him once we get ripped off and immediately hung up. He followed that by texting our phone with "call me when you get ripped off". We've never encountered anyone so unprofessional. The silly thing was we were actually considering them for the move but didn't understand why their prices were so off from nearly 2 dozen other companies. Needless to say we will not be going forward simply because of how unprofessional their representative Thomas McGarry is.
National Moving Group has registered their account, so they will be able to see and respond to your reviews publicly.
Their address is 4731 W. Atlantic Ave Suite 16, Delray Beach, FL, 33445, but movers usually cover a much larger area.
