Great job. Fast, efficient, and friendly

Long distance move from VA to NC. Jose and the team was great to work with. With reservations about using movers, from past experiences with other companies, Moving Express and Storage showed what a good moving company looks like, and what great friendly services are possible.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Illinois

Stay Away From Them.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU LOVE YOUR FURNITURE AND DONT WANT TO LOOSE IT. I hired a company called as World Van lines and they subcontracted it to Moving Express and Storage INC. They are a bunch of irresponsible people including their management who doesn't know how to talk. I moved from NJ to IL in August 2012 and when they arrived in IL (1 week late), they didn't have my 46 inch LCD TV (can you imagine that) which was worth $1700. When I inquired about it, I came to know that Moving Express had subcontracted their work to another moving company and I was just being tossed around to get my TV. They asked to file a claim with Anthem (their claim company) and apparantly they took 6 months to get back to me. I got a letter stating that I would be getting back $196 ONLY and not a single penny more. I am like, OK give me that atleast and as of yet, I am still waiting for my check to me received. I am sure some one (from this company who stole my TV) is sitting at home, enjoying watching my TV on his couch.  I want to make sure that what I have gone through, no one else does that. Also I was quoted a price of $1500 for the move but eventually they charged me $3000. It was the worst experience of my life every dealing with this company SO PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I don't want to give them a single star, hopefully there were negative stars to rate.

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

What wasn't destroyed is missing.

I was researching moving companies on line for my February move from Upstate New York to Florida, received a call from Nurizon Van Lines representative, very nice pleasant lady, I honestly believed that they were the actual moving company so I paid my $900.00 fee then had to make sure that I paid half of the balance via certified funds, cashiers check. which I did, I get a call from the Drivers telling me they will be at my house within an hour, this was at 2pm drivers didn't get to my house until 9pm and finished loading at 1AM. They had 3 movers to complete the job, they started wrapping my furniture in padding created crates then hit me with an additional $1,080.00 for packing fees on top of the $1,268.00 on top of the $900.00, the company that showed up was not Nurizon Van Lines But Moving Express & Storage, Now I’m Stuck because I have to leave and have no time to find another company. Moving Express & Storage Inc. were so unprofessional they were throwing the F Bomb and the N word like there was no tomorrow, argued with each other the whole time, complaining that they were hungry, so I went to McDonalds and bought $30.00 in food to shut them up so that the truck would get loaded and I could get on the road, as I was driving straight thru to Florida. after all this one of the guys walked off the job said he was done and sat in the truck.

Truck is finally loaded and they realize that the Truck is stuck in the Ice, they tried for over an Hour to get the truck unstuck in the meantime I am freaking out because the truck is pitching back and forth and side to side, I said to my brother in law dear lord everything is going to be ruined broke destroyed. The driver finally came to the car and said that they were going to call a tow truck and it would be 3 hours before they got there. this is already 2 am and have a 24 hour drive, we left I called Nurizon spoke to the manager Sam P I was told to contact Express moving and storage which I did, spoke with Francine explained what had happened that I was not happy with the service or the attitude or professionalism of the movers, they were very apologetic and wanted to help in any way to make this better. they deducted $200.00 off of the packing and gave me an extra 30 day storage.

Now here it is April I called to have my furniture and belongings delivered they said it would be 5 days, and to please have the additional $2,133.33 in cashier’s check or I could pay via credit card for a fee of $43.00.
Furniture shows up and sure enough everything is destroyed, what wasn't destroyed is now missing, over $9,000.00 between damaged and missing goods, I called both companies and was told to file a claim, which I did here goes another run around, yesterday I receive a offer letter of $198.00. between the cost of the move and my destroyed and missing items I’m out over $13,000 and they offer $198.00 absolutely disgraceful.

Please note that the Livingroom furniture was all New less than 3 months old which consist of couch satee set destroyed, overstuffed chair ottoman, 2 end tables beat up dented and scratched, coffee table, broken leg and cross section destroyed, fire place entertainment center for 60 TV, beat up scratched dented, my bedroom suite was less than 3 years old, both dressers long with Mirror and Tall are scratched wood, Mirror missing wood and scratched up. all Four Posts 7ft tall are scratched beat up pitted and one of the posts is separated from the base, head board and foot board scratched and beat up, side rails chucks of wood missing, scratched the 2nd bedroom suite is an antique set that I purchased in New York, dresser has chunks of wood missing box springs and mattresses were brand new queen box spring broken queen mattress ripped, 55 inch LG TV Dented broken base, missing power cored. There are over 30 totes that are missing as well as a 10 X 15 Shag area Rug, brand new.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Florida

Moving experience.

I hired Moving Express and Storage from Passaic NJ for my Florida move.I was a little concerned because I was on a strict budget and heard a lot of stories about moving companies.I was very pleasantly surprised though they packed the majority of my closets and kitchen cabinets I only payed $500 more than I was quoted and that's because of my packing requirements. The staff was pleasant and professional.I would highly recommend them!

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Virginia

Please do Not Use.

TO ALL THOSE BEFORE YOU USE THIS FIRM- DO NOT!! I don’t often blog on issues but when it is bad it is bad, and I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through! I contracted out a move with Voyager Van Lines in July of 2012 who then sold my move to Moving Express & Storage- (did not know about this at all). Moving Express then sold my move to 3 other firms who all ending up losing my items and combining them with other moves. In essence there are many of us with the same move period who lost thousands of dollars’ worth of items!! Per the numerous communications with the various moving companies- Original was Voyager Van Lines whom subcontracted the work out to Moving Express & Storage, I was advised to put in a claim for several missing items.  In addition to the ongoing issues with missing and damaged items, there were many other issues that arose such as items resulting from delayed pickups where I suffered additional rental days of $76.66 per day (1 in total) at pick up as well as a hotel night’s stay for 1 night in VA ($139.00) due to the moving companies inability to come as scheduled due to once again another issue with a truck. Pick Up was schedule on June 17th but did not occur until June 18th.  Drop off was to occur on July 2nd but did not occur until July 3rd. Several items have been damaged including a $500 cabinet from Pottery Barn that is a rolling drink cabinet- (entire bottom was cracked), an entire table is missing a leg which renders it useless  as well as a three drawer white dresser- bottom was broken off. I was told that I had to pay additional costs to wrap my mattress for the move, even after I had already purchased a mattress bag, as they “would rewrap it differently and you would notice this upon arrival)- this was not the case, it simply arrived in the plastic I had put it in and that is all. While the concerns above are extensive, it is minimal to the missing items and countless calls and emails I have placed to both companies which remained unanswered. This was the worst move I have ever had in my life and the stress put on to me during this time was extensive and unbearable. What was my Total Claim? - : $3700 and did not include the various small items missing nor does it take in any damaged items as my main concern is the missing items.  It also did not include the hotel and additional nights in the apartment I did not claim. After sending this in to Anthem, I received a letter about 2 months later stating it was denied and nothing was going to occur. Remember movers- their insurance companies work for THEM, not You!  I then went back to both moving companies on this and after they changed numbers, left vmails the end result was nothing. Finally a month later I received a random text from the one person in the office that felt guilty telling me that the company knew where my items were but to not say anything as she would get fired. She even gave out the phone number and name of this person so I could contact. This is not only illegal but I was grateful for her bleak moment of guilt. I have since been in contact with this other person who also lost her items and we are working together to mail to me. Did the moving company pay for this or call me back at all? NOPE – this is another $300 I have to incur and it’s only a few items. The moral of this story is to not use either company or firm- I thought I did my homework but they both put undue stress, loss and overall major financial issues on me. If you are still reading this it should be know that my initial quote of $1K turned into $2500 with additional door fees, elevator fees, 35feet extra charges and much more- including one mover who yelled at me, showed up without a shirt and then asked me for one when I explained he needed to wear a shirt while at the property. Please be wary and never ever use these firms. Best of luck-  VA Mover.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Pennsylvania

Do your homework. Use somebody else.

Lets start by saying we got quote for 2000 lbs with 5% discount came to $1064.00 and move date was to be 12/23/2011. The quote was based on questions asked my the moving company. What size house, how many boxes, dressers, etc. Our house was flooded in August so we had minimal furniture. And we didn't move any of our appliances. We felt we had a decent amount of boxes so we called moving company and changed the estimate to 3336 lbs which they quoted 1681.34 w/10% discount. We didn't want any surprises or bait-n-switch problems on moving day. The drivers were supposed to arrive at 8:30am Wednesday, they called and said they forgot to get an empty weight at the weigh scale and will be running late. They showed up around 12:30-1pm. The 2 guys seemed nice but not the fastest crew. We had most of the boxes stacked ready to go in living room. After a long confusing day they finally finshed around 6:30pm. It was supposed to be a direct move 6 hour drive from Nj to Pa. The foreman said we wont be arriving till 2am do you care if we get a hotel and meet you at 7am or so. We figured ok no problem probably good idea since everyone would be tired. Around 8pm the foreman called to say the truck scaled out loaded 23680 lbs, which was 8000 more lbs than Nicole quoted us. So we argued with the driver over phone calls back and forth. He first offered to reduce the weight to 7000 lbs over then we still complained and he offered to drop the weight to 5000 lbs over at $0.56 per lb. we eventually gave up arguing and just wanted to arrive safely and phones kept dropping calls on rt 80. We drove our personal cars and arrived at new home 2am set the alarm for 6am. Around 8 or 9 am my wife calls them to find out where they are.
They said stuck in the mud probably 110 miles away at a hotel. Finally around 12:40 pm the truck shows up and had mud on the tires. They start unloading and starts off ok. Then my brother shows up and argues the weight issue. My brother has more experience than both movers together when it comes to trucking, weight,or moving. Half way through unloading the foreman brings up the weight issue, scale, and more money than agreed upon. So
my brother calls local cop and attorney. We agreed to possibly 4000 lbs no more. So they get their boss on phone who is the most unprofessional boss I had ever talked to and I argue with him then my brother argues with him and it goes back and forth. Then the foreman refuses to accept the 2 postal money orders. He wants wife to cancel them to get cash or payable to the driver to which I refused to do either. The drivers boss refuses money orders, and I explain the contract clearly states cash or postal money orders. So after the company did nothing right from start to finish I gave up and told their boss either take the money orders or get nothing. They took the money orders, and I still tipped each guy since they did do the manual labor. But I don't trust any employee at this company. Misleading from beginning to end.

Long-distance move from New York to Colorado

Stay far away!

If you want professionals, do not use this company.  They will rob you, of items and money. Also, if you want to spend money on packing materials but have your hardware packed in old burger king wrappers, this comapny is the way to go.  If you want to get what you pay for, this is the last company I would ever use. We were charged an additional $240 by the driver via personal chack written to him, because our townhouse had stairs on the inside.. A TOWNHOUSE!! Also a $250 suede and rabbit fur coat came up missing during the move and the company has nothing to say about it.  We were supposed to receive a check reimbursing the $240 charged by the driver, but somehow it must have slipped their minds.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Texas

Run away, far away from this moving company.

Horrible, Horrible experience. I could have tolerated the rude, disinterested uninformed women who answered the phones. I might even have tolerated the lies told by salesman; completely false information and lies given to me when I phoned with point blank questions; the lack of follow up confirmation via email as promised; but I cannot stomach the nearly $600 in extra fees and charges after paying $195 for a binding estimate and getting a verbal promise twice that the estimate was binding. $200 for two pieces of cardboard. And the salesman who bragged about being in the moving business for years and could estimate so well- well not only did I have exactly the items I said I would have but I had even less boxes. And he still cost me several hundred dollars in overage charges. I got no notice for pickup (and I was trying to arrange this from another state.)They just showed up and demanded the warehouse owner (just a friend storing my furniture) give them cash and sign some paperwork. When he refused without my consent, they left without my furniture. A week later noone even knew where my furniture was.   I got no notice for delivery even though I firmly requested an email follow to a verbal conversation wherein I was promised 24 hotice for delivery. THe driver spent two days calling the wrong number then five minutes before 5 at night calls and says I owe him $1440 cash ($600 more than I had anticipated.) and that he'd be there at 9 the next morning, a work day with no prior notice! He wanted to get out of town before bad weather was due and if I wasn't home he'd put my furniture in storage. I spent hours and hours on the phone with Home Team Movers, the original company that contacted me, and hours on the phone with Moving Express and Storage who apparently actually did the move. Both companies should be ashamed of their business practices. THey lied to my face, made unauthorized charges to my credit card and held my furniture hostage til I paid and signed paperwork before I could even see my furniture. As for the "great claims department" the Moving Express rep told me they had (but wouldn't give me the number or anything before delivery)well, it's a third-party claims management company which doesn't even have a phone number or online processing. STAY AWAY FROM THESE COMPANIES!
