Liars abound, DO NOT USE!!

Very bad experience all around, came on time but overcharged us by at least $1200. Said that we didn't understand what they we're saying when they said something different. Very rude on the phone when trying to get updates on our stuff, actually yelled and demanded we stop contacting them. Many items were broken including an antique, one of a kind table bought by my late grandfather, which was split almost in half, then they blamed the movers, which they outsourced themselves.

Long-distance move from Princeton, NJ to San Diego, CA

Moving from NJ to CA.

I and my family had to relocate for work from NJ to CA. Many companies called me and offered quotes over the phone prices were as low as 2400 and as high as 7000 dollar. Prices were different which scared me after reading many reviews that states companies were charging more on the day of the move, however, luxury's salesman (Al) asked me if I would feel comfortable to have them send someone to look at my house and give me a price which was the only company to do that, he explained that companies are known for giving un-accurate quotes over the phone, no one knows how big my furniture is unless they see it. Al came on a sunday, he was polite and honest. Explained everything to me with cubic foot and how companies give low estimates and raise the price on the day of the move. His price was reasonable and the services were great. Two weeks after Al's visit, a crew of 4 men showed up ready to work . They didn't discuss anything with us b/c Al did that and we signed the paper with him weeks before. I would strongly recommend them due to their effort to send someone to my house, and honestly and their services was great on pick up and delivery there were zero problems.

Very rude and unprofessional

They do not answer the phone. Lied and told me my stuff was on the way and 2 weeks later still do not have my stuff. Vanessa is very unprofessional called me a liar and started screaming at me over the phone. Al and Mike the drivers and loaders told me that they would be back to get my stuff the next day and never showed up and blocked me when I tried to call. After serving in the Army for over 20 years and moving over 10 times this is by far the WORST movers ever. They could not tell me where my stuff was and refuse to answer any of my phone calls or emails. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY SHOULD BE OUT OF BUSINESS.

Wose experience very poor service

Do not use this company. They charged a lot more then what they give you the estimated. The customer service is very ruth’s and not professional. They don’t want to help or listen to you at all If you need their help after you pay them.( They gave an estimated with only $2150, but I have to pay them almost $3,287. When they delivered my stuff I received a damaged flat TV 55 inches and also missing two large boxes. Once I tried to claim my case. They returned back to me only $30 for the TV about my two missing boxes they don’t do anything. They said that they could not find any boxes left in their Warehouse. That all I get the answer from them. I tried to contact the customer service but they talked Very rude and unprofessional also they keep hang up on me. Do not use this service.

The WORST of the WORST

I would leave -5 stars if I could. My experience is far to long to tell. Sort version is. They jacked up the estimate 10 min after they got there. Damaged the front and back doors during the move. Came a day late. Left a bunch of my stuff in another state. I called, left VM's, sent emails. With NO response at all. I filed claims with their "ins" only to offered $108 .I appealed charges with my CC to only to have it denied 4 times so don't think using a CC will help you.TheCC said they provided the service even after I said they had breached the contract. I have requested an arbitration hearing from the LVL with no response. I am currently filing suit against them as of 08/17/2021. This has been going on for over 1 year now. So save yourself, and spend a little extra on a reputable company. Just Google Luxury Van Lines DOT#

Worst ever!! please read it will save you mega $$.

So what happened was (and I am positive they do this to everyone!!) they under estimated our quoat and gave us a reasonable price to begin with so they were suppose to pick up on a Friday a time when I would have been there to over see my thing being taken they came three days late and on the day they actually came they were 3 hours late!! it was upsetting to say the least and my husband and I had to leave that sat the day after the original day they were suppose to be there and we couldn't stay to the Monday so my uncle and little brothers 13 and 10 were the only ones to that could be there I also asked them multiple times if the price would change if I had a few more things the woman assured me the prise on the quote would stay the same she even said I had room for more thing so it wouldn't effect the price at all so they take my things and I don't here from them for days they say they need half before delivering so im on these ppl trying to pay the half of what they said it was going to be and then I talk to the owner and hes telling me that all of a sudden I gotta pay 1200 dollars more than the original price just imagine I horror I felt hearing that it was awful I was very upset they wanted 1200 more because I had a few extra things a small beaurau and a light metal rack and a small toddler bed plastic mind you that it raised it 1200 dollars how in the world is that worth another 1200 dollars worth of work or space?!! plus the woman told be it wouldn't raise the price so yeah basically if I wanted my stuff back I had to pay all the money up front to them before they took my things off also the owner doesn't care if you have concerns or complaints hes more concerned about the next person he can SCAM so please be warned about this horrific company do the research that's a huge mistake I made in the first place I had thought I looked it up but if I had based on the others reviews I would never had considered them! Also the sales rep woman lied to me and told me it went by weight but in fact it goes by cubic feet!! they under estimate the cubit feet to make it look like a good price! I know this is super long  but its good to know the truth before putting your priceless things in the hands of untrustworthy movers such as these! .

Moving company.

I was given an estimate based on inventory to be moved, but on moving day the cost was doubled.  The movers were late.  Was told to give date I wanted belongings, was told that there was a seven day delivery window, when I called after the seven days, I was told there was a 14 day delivery window, Then I was told there was a 21 day window.  Nothing in the contract about 21 days.  Delivery was made on Saturday, not a business day, which is how delivery time was counted. One piece of kitchen bowl was broken, did not get slats to bed, listed on inventory, but not with belongings. Totes were bent and dirty, not the way they were picked up.nobody could give me a straight answer, I would advise everyone to check before hiring them. They requested my business.

Dishonest business: 40% markup over estimate!

This business is dishonest. They gave us an estimate of $1400 and then charged us $2100 even though we didn't bring extra stuff. We DIDN'T take a desk and a book shelf and instead took a few extra boxes. Taking another look at their estimates, they way underestimated the volumes of simple, standard furniture pieces. They must deal with angry customers all the time if they estimate this poorly.

After arguing for hours and talking down the price a bit, they conveniently threw in a "long carry" charge. They claimed that they had to carry the boxes a long way to the truck, which is true, because they wouldn't pull all the way up the driveway! The driveway goes right up to the front door. Conveniently, the long carry fee brought the price back to $2100.

Next time I'll use a different service.. one run honestly and fairly. Expect a 40% markup over your estimate.

Class Act.

Luxury Van Lines provided a stress free moving experience. They have remained professional and thoughtful throughout this move. I have had several moving experiences that were below average prior to this one. Luxury Van Lines took their roles very seriously and performed above and beyond in areas that they weren’t required to. Seeing them exhibit this amount of effort in a move was comforting. Our belongings were transported carefully and intact. These movers are as classy as it gets! I recommend them wholeheartedly!

Let me use another reviewer’s words: “This company is unreliable, unprofessional, dishonest and a fraud.” I will add to that that they are often unreachable by phone, won’t return phone calls or emails, and are very impolite on the phone. I suspect the 72 Google reviews giving a rating of 4.1 stars was fraudulent, also. Angie’s List rated them at .6, My Moving a 2.3, and , although not accredited by the BBB, they received a 1.8 from their reviewers. My daughter was given a quote of $2400 and ended up paying over $6,000. There are more than a few scam artists in this business, this being one. Save yourself money, aggravation, and heartache and use one of the big guys (Mayflower, Allied, etc)

SCAM

Seems like good pricing in the beginning, it's a SCAM. They will charge you a TON more upon arrival, men who picked up items also brought up getting tipped before they even enter your property and make it seem like your stuff may not be in the best hands if you don't tip (they then complained about the amount I did give them). Overcharged me for a "long carry" fee as well. Asked for an additional $1800 at arrival on top of my quote - if you don't agree then you lose your entire deposit!! Supervisor Vanessa is not helpful either, she does not treat you well nor care about your complaint.

Unprofessional

I have never booked a moving company and did the unthinkable. I didn't read the reviews before booking. Yes, the prices were changed three times, by three different people. They don't write your list correctly and once you sign the documents disappear. Yes, the movers were late and let's just say, I know how to count money as well as my Sister.

They never gave me a list of my belongings and I had to ask for the receipt of payment and charges.

The reason I'm giving them 2-stars is because the crew that came to deliver my things were very professional and polite. I give them 5-Stars. The pickup and delivery was like night and day. Mike's crew should be the model for this company if they want to negate these negative reviews.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE FAKE REVIEWS! YOU WILL BE SCAMMED!

All the reviews are true. LUXURY VAN LINES is ONE LARGE SCAM. I was contacted by a company called Mission Moving regarding my move from SC to WA State. I was given a bid on the move, but informed them that I had two other bids that came in lower. The salesman at Mission Moving proceeded to ask me for the other company’s DOT numbers. He would then send me their BBB link showing that these were poorly rated companies compared to Mission. After a bit, this seemed like the best option and the move was going to ring in at just around $1,700. I provided a deposit of around $500 and was told that the remaining balance would be broken up on the day of my move out of SC and the day my stuff arrived in WA State.

I was informed that I would be told my moving date a week in advance so that I could plan around it. 24 hours before the move, no one had contacted me. I followed up and was given a date and time. Thursday at 9:00am it was. SOMETHING told me to contact the movers on the morning of. I reached out at 8:45 in the morning to make sure that we were still on track for 9:00 as I was getting ready to head out. I was told, only after I messaged them, that they had to stop for breakfast and would be there at 10:00 instead. Sure glad I thought to contact them or else I would have been waiting around at my storage unit. I get there at 10:00, waiting, waiting, and waiting. 10:45 rolls around so I reach out again. Took them 15 minutes to respond telling me that the truck broke down and that they weren’t sure when they’d be arriving. I drove home and waited. 11:50 I get a text stating that they were 10 minutes away.

Everything was great until the main mover asks me to come talk to him. I am then told, that AFTER providing my inventory space to Mission Moving, that I am going over the allotted space and that I will now be charged $1,000 extra dollars to move my stuff. Mind you, I am moving out of state in 24 hours so now I am stuck with no choice but to pay this money that I didn’t really have.

The main guy was literally texting on his phone and taking personal phone calls the entire time. Obviously, not paying attention to anything that was going on except for the charge me more money. After they had loaded everything in to the truck I was RUSHED through paperwork to sign as they had to get on the road. I barely had time to see what I was signing. I asked for copies and was told that the company would be sending me an email with the copies.

Fast forward to the day of the delivery, which was performed by a different company. My boxes were just mangled to high heaven. I asked about my queen size mattress that had not been brought in yet. I was told that they did not have this on the truck and nothing was listed on the inventory sheet. Mind you, THE ONLY inventory sheet I got was a half-page that said I only moved 7 boxes. Interesting, to pay $2,700 for 7 boxes. I was told that I could not have my stuff until I signed for what was delivered. I was told to then call the company and file a claim about my mattress. One small problem….the guy who did my original inventory, the one who rushed me through all the paperwork, DID NOT PUT IT ON MY INVENTORY. So now, I have PAID EXTRA MONEY on the day of the move to move a large item and this large item isn’t even delivered to me!

I called Luxury Van Lines. They don’t even answer the phone with the company name. “Moving Company” is how they answer and in the background you just hear kids and dogs running around. The main person that answers the phones will answer on speaker phone so you can barely hear her and sounds extremely annoyed that she has to talk to you. I was told that if the mattress wasn’t on the inventory sheet that there is nothing they can do about it. I made 7 separate calls and sent multiple emails trying to get this resolved. FINALLY I was able to speak to a manager who claims that his hands are tied and there is nothing they can do. MY MATTRESS DIDN’T GROW LEGS AND WALK AWAY!!!

I then ask the manger if I can speak to his boss. He informs me that his boss is the owner and that he can’t guarantee that the owner will even call me back with this issue. I comment on how much of a scam this is to which I am told in no way is it a scam. I proceed to ask how he would feel is he was charged a surprise extra $1,000 on the day of the move due to being “over the allotted space” and then to have one of the largest items, which sells for $2,000, not even arrive? I was told 3 weeks ago that I would I would receive a call from him within a week. Not surprised I never heard a peep.

This company has proceeded for 2 months to make me sound like a liar. I am not sure who would pursue this for TWO MONTHS if they were lying. Would be a waste of time.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE LITERALLY THE WORST PEOPLE ON THE PLANET.

Worst experience EVER!!!!!

DO NOT USE THEM.... this is a Scam! we were quoted a low ball price to get our business. They only take your checking info for the deposit so no credit cards which would allow you to appeal the charge. They arrived and before even looking at the stuff the rep stated this was way under quoted and they increased the price by 3xs. We called the person who set it up and she basically stated too bad pay or we'll leave. At this point we were stuck all the plans were in place to move that day. I'm assuming they know this and they take advantage of this fact. We had to pay and again cash or check... no cards. During the move they were extremely rude. The move was set up to be in SC from CT and in 5 days at the earliest. So we had plans to arrive prior. We get a call two days later saying they'd arrive the next day, we hadn't planned to be there yet. We were rudely told "do you want your stuff or not?" So we drove through the night 13 hrs to meet them only to have them arrive 24 hrs later. When they arrived they again demanded cash before we got our belongings. Then told us it would be a couple hundred dollars more to go up our steps, which was disclosed prior. They refused to unload the truck so myself and my 100 lb wife had to unload it as they stood and watched. After unpacking we found there were many items broke and our couch had a cigarette burn, we don't smoke. The entire thing was a nightmare!!! I get that its hard to find movers right now and everyone is looking for the best price. DO NOT hire this company!!!!! It was clear all this was premeditated and they do this to get over on people. Its their business model. There's a ton of bad reviews on them we made the mistake of not checking before. If your reading this... RUN!!! Do not hire them.

Worst movers ever

Wish I could give negative stars. The movers came at 10 pm after delaying by 1.5 days and finished at 3 am! They then called the next day to increase the move cost by 50% and threatened to throw our stuff out after taking it to a warehouse 5 hours away. Finally things got delivered (by an absolutely awesome driver) but broken lamps, missing bed parts and scratched legs on furniture. Customer service was rude and does not care! This company is a FRAUD!!! DO NOT USE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SCAMMED!

They overcharged my move regarding the space used by ~400 Cubic Feet. The estimated amount on the BOL was 2300 Cu. Ft. When the truck was loaded, the mover wrote down the wrong number on the top of the Semi, counting from the back of the truck instead of the front (used to show how much cubic feet was used). It was close to 1900 Cubic feet used when the truck arrived, which makes more sense since original estimate was 1300 Cu. Ft.

I unfortunately didn't have proof of this claim, other than my eyes and the movers who offloaded the truck, along with the guy who took a picture after the truck was loaded. The company didn't even attempt to rectify this with him or compensate me in any way.

I only heard stories about bad moving companies, but now I know they exist. Take your business elsewhere and pay a little extra for a quality company like Allied Van Lines.

Moving from NJ to CA - Horrible Experience.

we moved from nj to san diego in december’13. these people already had my inventory list, since my goods were in a storage unit. when the movers came to pick my goods, refused to take it until and unless I pay them $400 more, even though I didn’t have a box more than the inventory list. unfortunately we did not have time, as we were leaving nj in two days, so we had no option other than to make a deal. in spite of all these, when my goods got delivered, many of my belongings like 10 gallon aquarium, coffee table, side table, TV cabinet, etc were broken. They are worst with whom we had done the business in USA. Now we are asking for the final bill and have called then at least 10 times and they are not even providing that to us. Eventhough we are rating it Poor they are worse than that.
