Long-distance move from Cheyenne, WY to Cleveland, OH

Houshold Move.

FIRSTLY, I AM A REAL CUSTOMER!! Read and TAKE Heed of our experience!! Midwestern Van Lines is a cheaper moving option, however you get what you pay for. When you are given a 7-21 business day window (weekends do NOT count) for household delivery, plan for 25 business days for delivery. The customer service will then tell you they have 30 business days to deliver but it is not written in the contract. While awaiting your delivery date please don't call the 1-800-519-1130 option 1, 2, 3, or 4 and expect a answer. The phone goes to straight voicemail and NO ONE returns your call!! We called everyday, 2-3 times per days for 10 days until a live customer service person answered the phone. BEWARE: There is an alleged driver shortage that will extend your delivery date. MOST IMPORTANT** Have cash or post office money order ONLY for final payment or the driver WILL NOT unload your furniture. Lastly, they DO NOT assemble beds even though the company tell you will. If you can handle this nonsense they Midwestern Van Lines will for you, good luck and be strong!

Long-distance move from Minneapolis, MN to Washington, DC

BEWARE of Midwestern Van Lines!

If I could rate this company negative stars, I would. Only consider hiring this moving company if you 1) Don’t care how much money you spend, 2) don’t care when you receive your belongings, or 3) are OK with being manipulated and lied to.

Randy, the senior moving consultant who initially sold me on using the company, gave a great seller’s schpiel about how reliable and reputable Midwestern is. I felt at ease and was even informed that if I had my belongings picked up one week before the first available delivery date, that they would absolutely be able to deliver my belongings on that first available delivery date. After paying the deposit, Randy was impossible to get a hold of..a.k.a. I never spoke to or received an email response from him ever again. His voicemail even has some BS about how he is usually at his desk but is helping other valued customers just like you, but he will call you back as soon as possible (or never..eye roll).

Fast forward to the date of pickup. (Of course) My initial $2,400 quote more than doubled to over $5,200 after the movers did a visual estimate of all of my belongings. And like other customers, felt trapped because I was days away from moving and had already put down the deposit..so I reluctantly paid, but thought, “Whatever, as long as the job gets done” (not knowing then that the job would get done not when I was promised, but up to 6 weeks thereafter). I have no egregious complaints about the movers, although they were a bit rude and condescending.

Two weeks later (which is far better than the other reviews I’ve read in which customers are still without their things one month later..I anticipate that I will be one of these customers in just a few weeks), they are still awaiting a driver to be assigned to my truck and they have no way of knowing when that will be. Except that it will be within 30 BUSINESS days. I’m counting down the days until this nightmare is over. I’m sleeping on pillows and with blankets on the wood floor of my new apartment and have spent hundreds of dollars on basic necessities that are in my moving truck, but that I will likely not receive for another month.

I initially chose this company because they offered the lowest price. I soon learned that this was an obvious scam and that some people will say and do anything to make a sale. I feel sad and disappointed, as well as angry, that I put my trust in this company. Please do not make the same mistake. For those that have had positive experiences with Midwestern, those individuals are extremely lucky. So unless you’re feeling particularly lucky, stay away from Midwestern Van Lines. In addition, do NOT leave a message because you will not receive a response. Every day I call and continue to hang up and redial (about 10-15 times per day) until a representative actually picks up so I can find out the status of my delivery. It has been the same every single day, which is that a driver has not yet been assigned to my truck, but I will continue to call daily until my belongings arrive..wish me luck!

Long-distance move from Loveland, CO to Newport News, VA

Do Not Use Them.

I am in Loveland CO and hired them to move my daughter to Virginia. I spent over two hours on the phone with Simon Victorino going over the details of the move, and was crystal clear that our move date had to be within 7/26-7/28th as my daughter is closing on her new house on 7/30 and its a 3 day drive to Virginia. He assured me that by 7/23 we would have our exact move date. I paid him $972 deposit of the $2300 contract. Well, at 4:30pm on the 23rd, I still had not heard from anyone at Midwestern so I called Simon. He had the "quality assurance" rep call me and started going over what we were moving and wanted to go over the packing list again. I told Chris, the quality assurance guy, that we had already done this, and we were very detailed so we just need to know when the moving date is. Chris said "listen, you don't have to be an a**hole, there's more people than just your daughter involved here!!" I said to Chris, excuse me? Don't you dare call me that! I reiterated that we were supposed to have our moving date solidified by end of business the 23rd, and that's now. So when is our move date? Chris then told me that dispatch would be in touch with me in 24-48 hrs to schedule the move. I told Chris, once again, that the date of the move was supposed to be given to me no later than this very day we were speaking. Chris then said, and I quote, "Listen you F*G*OTT, you will get a call from dispatch when they call!" I told him I am done and hung up. I called Simon and told him what happened and that I want to speak to a manager, and he kept repeating that he will make a note and someone will be in touch and hung up. I immediately emailed Simon that I will not be discriminated against and I am terminating the contract and I want my money back. He called me back only to smugly tell me it is not refundable and hung up. I have since filed a BBB complaint, and filing complaints with DORA, ACLU and am filing a small claims lawsuit. If there are others that have been screwed by this company email me anytime and lets join forces to get our money back and stop them from defrauding others. precision80537@gmail.com.

Long-distance move from Longmont, CO to Dayton, OH

Immeasurably, Horrifyingly Stressful, Life-Changingly Terrible.

My original quote indicated that the cost for the shipment, including all fees, would be $5,967.21. This included packing, pickup, temporary storage, and delivery. This cost was determined by the carrier's estimation software, where I went through my house and which items were to be packed/shipped

After my belongings were packed in the truck, the courier rushed me through the paperwork before I could provide informed consent. I was shocked that the amount I was to be charged was $11,146. Furthermore, I noticed that the courier had filled out certain parts of the form that it was designated that I (the customer) would provide. On the Valuation Addendum on the paperwork, I was presented with two options for "the carrier's liability for loss or damage to your household goods." The first option was Full (Replacement) Value Protection, and the courier indicated that it would cost $20,000 just for the insurance coverage, so I declined. The second option was for Minimal Protection at 60 Cents Per Pound, which I chose. This section indicates that I should have been provided a copy of "Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move" brochure as well as the "Dispute Settlement & Arbitration" brochure providing information, and I did not. Lacking this vital information, I was at a disadvantage in appropriately documenting my lost/damaged/destroyed belongings in precisely the way that was required in order to file a claim for damage.

I paid for the courier to pack the items, and under the General Agreement Clause it indicates that the courier is responsible for the condition of the contents of cartons packed by the company. However, on the "Bill of Lading Contract," it says that "All damages and missing items must be noted on the inventory logs," meaning that I would have had to evaluate every single item. As soon as the items were off the truck (many items left in driveway), the courier indicated that per the contract, I was to sign the paperwork IMMEDIATELY, and that I could go back and add items that were lost/damaged in shipment and storage when I filed my claim AFTER I signed. Despite my objections and inability to find the clause in the contract which showed this, they went from urging me to complete the paperwork to relentlessly berating me to sign the form. They pressured me into signing the contract before I could make any reasonable assessment of the condition of my belongings (or even which items were missing), therefore relinquishing any claims for items which were not listed as damaged as the courier was bringing the items in. As an additional note, nowhere in any agreement is there a provision for the courier forgetting to list an item on the inventory log and subsequently becomes lost, which happened in my case.

I meticulously evaluated and cataloged all of the lost/damage/destroyed items. This detailed list included repair quotes, a multitude of pictures, original receipts, replacement receipts, and weights. Precisely 5,232 pounds of my items were lost/damaged/destroyed. Per the contract, the compensation for this should have been $3,139.20 at 60 cents per pound. After submitting my claim, the settlement offer that I received was $78, based on only 130 pounds.

I feel as though MidWestern Van Lines took advantage of me, and pressured me to make decisions without informed consent which unilaterally worked in their favor. Most of the phone numbers which they originally provided me were disconnected, and I have found it precisely impossible to reach anybody which could even provide me information. The representatives which I have spoken to, both at Midwestern Van Lines as well as MovingClaims.net, have provided me with conflicting or even incorrect information, leading to confusion and uncertainty which, once again, tilts the scales in their favor. This entire ordeal has left me emotionally drained, brought me to the brink of bankruptcy, and a severe diminishment of faith in humanity as a whole.

Long-distance move from Missouri to California

Scam - Lost Half Of My Items, Zero Reimbursement.

Original quote increased by $2000 after my things were loaded onto truck. Their reason was that I had more things than an average 2BR house. My belongings were 1 couch, 1 mattress/box, 1 table, 1 rug, 2 dressers, 1 TV, the rest cardboard boxes (~20 small/medium). I find it hard to believe this is less than the average 2 BR House - certainly does not warrant $2000 additional cost.

Workers were unprofessional, inappropriate, fighting/yelling with each other, & strangely were on the phone with their families on speaker phone the ENTIRE time. Their record keeping was basically nonexistent so throughout this madness I was double checking the box count and items loaded. They were 4 hours late on arrival and took 4-5 hours to pack everything up. On their way out they harassed me/demanded a tip - I felt obliged given they had all of my belongings hostage for the next 30 days.

Orchestrating delivery was unpleasant to say the least. Move in was scheduled for 6/1 (as that is when my new lease began). I received multiple calls and confirmations that my things would be delivered 5/28 or 5/29 and I MUST be there or I would incur a *delivery fee*. It was impossible for me to be there as I was not currently in the state I was moving to, nor did my lease start then - this was extremely stressfully as again I was told my things must be unloaded then. After speaking with ~10 people, exchanging 50+ calls/texts with "managers", the move-in was eventually changed to 6/2 (still incorrect and inconvenient but doable considering).

Upon delivery, the workers (different this time and much friendlier and professional) acknowledged the poor record keeping and that that was common. They unloaded what they had and there were 9 boxes entirely missing and several boxes were completely destroyed/falling apart leading to multiple plates, dishes, glasses being broken. I have never received my 9 missing boxes (nor have I heard from anyone from the company directly). Filing a claim is an absurd process that uses a 3rd party and contains hundreds of forms/steps. I completed all of these steps and after 9 months, my claim was determined to be settled for $100 - which to this day I have not received.

Avoid this company at all costs. For the amount of money I ended up paying I could have purchased new items. If you must use a moving company, avoid avoid avoid. Scam company from start to end. There's a reason their quote is appealing - SCAM.

Don't use this company, spread the word!

This company gives an underestimate for an initial quote then charged you much more. The movers who don't speak English then hurry you to sign more papers which state you have $15000 of insurance, but they pay at a rate of $1 for every pound the damaged items weigh. The move took over 30 business days as they said the stuff was being stored at some sure which was neither the move origin or destination. When it arrived, my $1500 tv was smashed, a leg of my entertainment center was ripped off, and every corner of the bedroom set was nicked or dinged to some degree. Filling for insurance was a hassle, and then reading the fine print showed that if they pay or an insurance policy and you move within 12 months, your stuff becomes theirs and they can come check your home whenever. This company already has multiple complaints work the BBB. Do not use this company, and spread the word! Worst experience I've ever had with any type of company.

Avoid Midwest Van Lines at ALL costs.

This company should not be in business. Many of our items, most of which are antiques have been badly damaged. It has taken just short of 7 weeks to receive our entire load. For some reason, it came in 2 shipments. We have been sleeping on a mattress on the floor for the entire 7 weeks. Today the second and final shipment came, and now we are missing some items, including part of an antique marble top dresser. Unbelievable! Oh, and this company won't return phone calls, and their customer service is beyond bad. Avoid this company! Avoid this company! PERIOD.

Terrible Experience - would never use again or recommend.

I had a terrible experience with this company. They were extremely unresponsive, only responding to every 3rd or 4th email - if at all. I feel taken advantage of and disrespected. Worst experience with a business in years. I also felt the quote given to me originally was lower than the cost they knew I would have to pay - 75 dollars per flight of stairs, 125 for an elevator, etc.

Over 30 days and still our items/furniture still not received.

Read your contract with them - they tell you "yes we can do that in time" and they don't - don't believe them. They take your items/furniture and keep it hostage for over 30 days. We have tried calling customers service and nothing changes they tell us our items/furniture will be picked up then three days later it was not and still nothing. They picked up our items/furniture in March then dropped it off in a storage unit somewhere we don't know..and still nothing from them on when we will get our items/furniture. We have received NOTHING from customers service on when we are going to receive our items/furniture. Don't use them Don't trust them - they will over charge you once they get there to pick up your items - famous words - "you have more than what you told us" then it is more money. This has been the WORST experience we have ever gone thru.

Really good deal.

I purchased some office equipment online and had to get it brought into our new office. Midwestern Van Lines was one of the companies that reached out to me to give me a quote. My sales rep Mitch gave me a really good deal on the move with a piggy back that he had in the same area. They picked up everything from the warehouse and brought it out to our new office space. Set up everything perfectly. I would definitely use them in the future.

Rip off liars.

Do not and I repeat do not go with Midwestern van line Movers. As you read and other reviews they do under estimate your move. Tried calling a representative Sean call do not and I repeat do not go with Midwestern van lying movers. As you read and all the reviews they do under estimate your move. They came to pick up my furniture that I had listed on a contract with them and when the movers came they wanted to charge me $1500 more. Tried calling a representative Sean Cohen and I was told by him to always call he will always answer his phone etc. etc. When the movers were there trying to dispute this list he never called them back and when I tried he never called me back. It has been six hours and I’m still waiting for a callback. I did not go with Midwestern Van Lines I told them just to leave they are a rip off they do not respond back to you and I was told by authentic reputable movers that you should never put a down payment down. That’s illegal. Worst experience ever I had just made another move to go to Colorado and that went smoothly with pods. That move to Colorado though did not have as many furniture as I did with this recent move. Do not trust them do not sign anything and paid any down payment. It is worth going to a reputable mover. Long-distance move from Olathe, KS to Midland, TX

Worst Move Ever.

I have moved both local and long distance many times in my life and have never had such bad service or been so severely overcharged. The salesperson who called us kept talking over me. That should have been my first clue. The cost of the move has tripled from the estimate. The packers showed up a day late, did not bring the proper equipment, and even asked for a tip! I am still waiting for delivery of my household goods and can not reach anyone! The online “track your shipment” does not work. After writing a complaint on Midwestern Van Lines website, a manager did contact me, asked me my problem and then talked over me. I asked him to please listen, and stop talking over me. He then told me I was being rude and threatening, and any further communication must be in writing, after which he hung up on me. This is the only direct communication I have had since the packers loaded the truck. I have filed complaints with the FMCSA and the BBB.

Long-distance move from Nebraska to California

Do not and I repeat do not go with Midwestern van line Movers. As you.

It was in good faith that I chose to use Midwestern Van Lines to move my personal belongings from Omaha NE to Johnson Valley CA, after all they state they are "Voted #1 Professional Moving Service" (DOT: 1723440/MC: 631710)

I contacted Michael Gould phone: Ext (719)359-8275 to establish a Binding Moving Estimate JOB NO: MW3776926 and paid the required 864.43 to get things going.

Within a day or two I received a call informing me that movers would be there on Monday between the hours of 12-noon and 2:00. At 3:00 the mover's called and stated they would be there at 4:30 but didn't show up until 5:30 surprisingly in a large Ryder truck. Then I was asked if it was alright if they grabbed something to eat? One drove off in the Ryder truck while the other began removing my pre-boxed items, numbering each as he removed them to the parking lot of the apartment complex,

About half-hour (45 minutes) later the driver and Ryder truck comes back and they ate in the cab of the truck. Afterwards both movers proceeded to remove & load my pre-packed boxes. I was a bit upset that they didn't come dressed in something professional like a uniform and instead casual wear. After all, I was led to believe this was a "professional" mover. Other things about them peeved-me-off as well (when I found out days later from my daughter who had removed herself from the property because she felt uncomfortable) because I gave them "excellent" reviews on the form given me in along with a $25.00 repeatedly suggested gratuity while signing a boat-load of paperwork and paying half the amount of the balance due using my debit card with 3% .. upon delivery I was to pay the remaining balance in either cash/cashier's check only. After all this I was led to believe that this Ryder truck the movers came in was the truck and movers who would be delivering my items on my suggested day of delivery, when asked by the mover, of May 21st. Little did I know this was the date that their 7 to 10 days delivery would begin .. and this is when my nightmare of delivery and holding my belongings became hostage for $250.00 cash not to mention 30 boxes still missing and promised delivery within 3 days (which time is up) .. the two guys who delivered part of my boxes one wore sandals and no shirt and the other was in a big rush to get on with the next job
while I proceeded to write down the box numbers received and literally forced me into signing off that I received everything on the list. Too unprofessional and I regret the day I made my decision to use them.
Needless to say the story has gone on and on and on and come Monday June 4th I'm writing a letter about the whole incident to the Governor of Miami FL, the Better Business Bureau, and if necessary Miami FL local newspaper because 30 boxes/pieces are still missing and promised to be delivered within 2 to 3 days but haven't heard a thing - times up Midwestern Van Lines.

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Georgia

Out of State Move.

My husband and I went through this company to move out stuff from Minnesota to Georgia. We liked our quote we had at the beginning. The day of pick up they came in and said we needed to pay an extra $3,000 to take everything. We said Absolutely Not. So the move ended up taking 13 boxes, 2 chest dressers,3 twin size mattresses and 3 TVs ALL FOR $2,300. They were suppose to call us and tell us the day and time for pickup 2 days prior. We never received a phone call so we called to see what was going on. They have us a day and time window. The truck pulled up right at the time when the window was over. This was our first move out of state and Midwestern made this first time experience horrible for us. We will not recommend anyone to book with this company ever.

Avoid.

One of the previous reviews was spot-on. We were quoted a priced based on cubic feet, asked for a down payment only to have our quote adjusted up in price before the movers got to our house. When the furniture was being picked up, we were told that using a credit/debit card would result in a 3% convenience fee. No one in the home office told us of this at any point..we had to be told by the movers themselves. After having arrived in our new home, we’re being told that it could take up to a week before our furniture arrives..again, we were never advised it would take that long. We’ve been at our new home for 3 days and have at least 7 more days before our furniture arrives? This company isn’t very upfront about “real” costs moving cross country. They jack up the price, hold your furniture hostage, and take their sweet time delivering it. The movers themselves were friendly, but we’ll see how everything holds up once our stuff gets here. Avoid this company.

Nightmare.

Where to start? First, when the company is soliciting your service, they will tell you, "I will be with you during your move". Reality? Once they have your belongings, they DO NOT bother returning any phone calls.
I went room by room and gave an accurate inventory. The Midwestern rep, made note of everything, and figured my belongings to be 1100 cubic feet. The day the movers arrived, there were a few less items to be loaded to include: 8 large boxes, a bakers rack and a side-by-side refrigerator. They loaded my belongings into a Ryder 24ft truck, which holds 1400 cubic feet. After they had loaded my belongings, the truck was only 2/3 full. HOWEVER.. they charged me an additional $1500 and said I had 1500 cubic feet! The driver said to call the company to sort it out..which is when they NEVER returned my call!
On the day they were to deliver my belongings, they called and said they would arrive between 10am and 12pm the next day. They arrived at 7pm and weren't finished until after 11pm. My boxes were crushed, but luckily only 3 things were broken. They tracked my new home full of mud, but that's not the worst..one of the movers called my daughter outside and asked her for some marijuana!!
Now I write this review instead of calling the company, since they do not bother to return calls. Avoid this company. Stick with the reputable names of moving companies, you will be better off for it.

Local move within Florida

Move from Oregon to Florida.

I can only echo what others have written here. This company is the worst company I have ever done business with. I am a retired business owner and I cannot imagine how this company is still in business with the way they treat customers. Interesting that all the one star reviews are women and the 5 star reviews (if real) are men. So..my pick up was 3 days late on March 16th. My first available delivery date was March 21st. I knew not to expect my belongings on that date, and that the company has 4 weeks per DOT regulation to deliver my belongings. So far it has been 19 days from first available date, 24 from pick up date even though the sales rep, Paul Alleno promised he’d be my contact person and he’d be in touch “every step of the way” and it should be “no problem” to get my delivery within 2 weeks of pick up even though it couldn’t be guarrenteed. I also haven’t heard a word from Paul despite repeated voicemails, texts and emails. I even called Victor, the guy who picked up my belongings and he doesn’t even have voicemail set up on his phone. My move was started at 7pm on a Friday night (after being rescheduled from my “guarrenteed pick up date” of March 13th). they showed up after dark and packed the truck until 11pm. I was charged another 1500 and told I was under quoted. (I did have added boxes so I wasn’t too surprised). Even knowing I had extra they came with a Ryer truck and 3 guys (these guys were good, the only bright spot in this move). Victors told me he was taking my things to Seattle to store in his warehouse until it’s picked up by an 18 wheeler headed East. Paul had said my belongings would only be moved ONCE, from the smaller unmarked Ryder truck to the 18 wheeler. By law, they only have 9 more days to delivery my belongings per DOT rules. This company operates by its own rules and completely lacks integrity. Anyone reading these reviews should avoid this company like the plague.

Heart breaking delivery.

I moved from Colorado to New York. Very unfortunately, I chose Midwestern Van Lines as my movers. They picked up all of my furniture on 2/22/2018, and my first available delivery date was the 26th of that month. I understood that it was a long distance interstate move, and that it could take anywhere from 4-16 business days to arrive. Fast forward to yesterday, 4/10/2018, when I finally received my delivery. The company did discount my final total by $200 for being so late. However, that's not even the beginning of my issues with them. Not only were they extremely late delivering my furniture and belongings, but nearly every item that was delivered demonstrated severe physical damage! I'm not talking a minor scratch here and there either..there are legs ripped off of dressers, every piece of furniture has splintered corners/edges from physical force, holes in mattresses, and the TV screen was completely shattered. My furniture was in perfect condition and brand new prior to being in the hands of Midwestern vain lines, and now I am left with a mangled mess of belongings. To top all of that off, now I am unable to reach the company to start a claim, nor will they return my calls. Avoid this company as best you can!

Terrible moving company!

Worst company I’ve ever used. The price almost doubled from the original estimate. I had equivalent to a one bedroom apartment amount of things and I was charged over 6 thousand dollars. Original estimate was 3600. Then they told me my things would be there in 7 days and it took 3 weeks. They do not answer phones or emails once the contract is set. I highly recommend you find another company. Do your research! Also they showed up at my door two weeks after the move was over demanding money do to a “mistake” they supposedly made. I had to call the police. This company is terrible!

Long-distance move from Dayton, OH to Bradenton, FL

Worst experience ever.

24 hours after getting a quote we wanted to cancel the contract and get my deposit back. They wouldn't give us the deposit back so we had to go with them against our will. They promised us the load would get here to Florida in 3 to 7 days. After contacting the company, they told us we need to pay even more money. Now it's been 18 days and we are still waiting for our furniture. If 0 star was an option I would choose that.

Long-distance move from Nebraska to California

Worst Experience Ever and Missing 30 boxes!

I booked this company to move boxes from Omaha, NE to Yucca Valley, CA. Pick up driver showed up four hours later than stated. One guy was doing all the work and tried to get myself and daughter to do the labels and marking of the boxes. The other mover was having wife issues and was on his phone the whole time. They didn't leave my house till 9:30pm. Driver asked what date I wanted them to deliver my items and said Monday May 21 that was a Lie! I wasn't till one week later! I stated when booking house was on a dirt road for delivery.
Delivery driver showed up and said I'm farther than 75 ft to drop off in my contract and had to pay $250 extra. They brought my boxes in upside down and many of them smashed. Driver says ok, I'm done! I said this isn't all of them. He states my truck is empty go look! So my daughter and I had to get the paperwork out and start logging each number as they did when picked up.
Driver was getting upset that we where doing this. It was Memorial Day and no one in the offices answered. He wanted me just sign that I received all my boxes so he could go onto the next job. He states, "I don't need your boxes!" I'm missing 30 boxes from the shipment. I had 118 boxes total. I signed stating that I'm missing 30 and paid him the $250.Tuesday after the holiday I called the office and customer service stated hold on let me check dispatch. Was on hold for 20 mins and called from my landline only for another girl to say the girl will call me back. 12 hours later and many calls to only get a recording every time! Beware of this company. You can't get through to them. I even have called the Michael Gould hasn't returned any of my messages that took my order. Worst service ever and no one will return your calls.

Move from Ks to Fl.

TERRIBLE!! They overcharged us for the cubic feet we moved. We took photos to prove they had not filled the trucks to the capacity they claimed. We tried on numerous occasions to give them the chance to do the right thing. I.e. Honor the contract that stated we would only be charged for the cubic feet moved. They ignored us. We even took them to court and the judge agreed. We had no choice but to use them as we had already paid the deposit and needed to move that day to get to our new location. They are beyond reprehensible. They are extremely convincing in how professional they are and how much better they are. THEY LIE!! The will tell you they have all their own trucks and employees. THEY DON'T! Our trucks were rentals and our drivers admitted to being contractors. We have moved 8 times since we have been married and have NEVER had a worse experience.

Long-distance move from Colorado Springs, CO to San Antonio, TX

Midwestern Van Lines.

Do not use this company. Horrible experience. Started with a gross underestimate of cost of the move by 60%. Then failed to come on agreed pickup day. Moving agent would not answer phone or return emails. Movers showed up a day late (Saturday) and was undermanned. Worked for a half a day and took Sunday off. When asked when they would return they said they would have to check with dispatch. Came back mid afternoon Monday and halfway finished job. Again, did not know when they could come back and finish but asked for the 2nd installment. I had to refuse to pay them to get them to comeback and finish packing out on Tuesday. When it came time for delivery dispatch provided as little information as possible but insisted that final $10,000 payment be made by post office money order or CASH before delivery even though they had conflicting final payment information in their moving documentation. Bottom line is horrible communication after they took the first installment. STAY AWAY if you can.
