They pay for good reviews. Beware.

Like many others, I don't know where to begin. Short story SAVE YOURSELF AND YOUR STUFF AND YOUR MONEY AND DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. I promise you, this is some of the best advice you will ever receive.

Summary of why not:

1. The quote they give you on the phone to lure you in and the price you get after they load your stuff is way different. Mine was almost four times as much as they said on the phone it would be, with no choice but to sign and agree as all my stuff was on their truck. They now had me hostage, by having everything I owned and they know it.

2. They arrived at my house 4 hours late, and were loading till almost midnight. Yelling, banging, laughing etc in the street on a work/school night.

3. When they did finally arrive, they had none of the promised protective padding or anything. They promised me when they got to the warehouse they would wrap my stuff. They didn't. There is virtually not one piece of furniture that I have which is not gouged, scratched, and otherwise nearly ruined visually. My leather couch has holes in it. Two TVs are broken. Printer is broken.

4. Boxes arrived mostly crushed. Not one was shaped like a box anymore or didn't have holes in them. Not to mention, they lost several boxes. I generally give my used moving boxes away for free so they get reused but only like maybe three out of around 150-200 boxes could be salvaged.

5. The communication was poor about when my stuff would arrive. It was about 2+ weeks to get my stuff a 6 hour drive from CO to SD. This was after promising 3-10 days I think and telling me its usually about 5.

6. With all my damaged and missing stuff, they offered me like $80. Hahaha! After some talking, the lady negotiated about $300 for me which took another month and a half to arrive.

These good reviews, I honestly think that of course, some got lucky and they had a good experience, but be aware they also offered me Visa gift cards to leave a good review.

I forgot to mention in my original review that LA Transfer & Storage basically is a middle man. They hire other local movers to pick up and potentially deliver your stuff. That leads to fun blame games at the end where they blame this company and that company blames the other company and so on. Basically, you're not even hiring LA Transfer & Storage, you're being saddled with whatever company they have worked out some rock bottom price with to move your stuff for them.

Long-distance move from Temecula, CA to San Antonio, TX

Beware

First contact told me it would be a fast turn around because from CA to SA was a straight easy process on one fwy.

The pick up was rushed and items we didn't want thrown on truck. Then charged 3k over original quote. They where told what not to put in truck.

Overcharged.

Experience was delay after delay.

They could not fulfill contract.

16 days maximum. Went to a month

Sleep on air mattress for a month.

Once arrived just over half our belongings arrived. Had to pay in full just to get what was on the truck.

After that what was left in the warehouse was 2 mattresses couches dinner table dressers . Antiques and many personal items. The company called leftovers.

LEFTOVERS ..NO!!! OUR BELONGINGS, WE PAID TO GET DELIVERED.

3 MONTHS LATER NOT DELIVERED.

WE PAID 12K FOR 1300 MILES.

WE HAD TO PICK UP OURSELVES.

What was left. (After all they had our money.) They don't care. It seems that they take more clients before fulfilling obligations. I felt it would be months before the remaining precious items arrived.

COST 4K TRAVEL,TRUCK, HOTELS ,ECT....

I WANT MY MONEY BACK! At least reimbursement for our having to pick up ourselves and the damages made.

THE DAMAGE TO OUR Furniture. just one item shown. Many damages made.

Actual storage when picked up. In photo

Beware

DO NOT USE!!!

La transfer and storage

Aaron, was my first interaction with this company. He was hard pressing and doing whatever he could to get the sale. He got the sale, which I deeply regret. So as far as Aaron is concerned, he did his job and got me to buy and like the typical salesman, once he made the sale I no longer existed and he avoided me like the plague.

Oliven, was my second interaction with the company. He was a talker, he did not want to listen to anything that i had to say and even started to leave since I did not believe that the load was as large as he said it was. It wasn't but I was not going to be able to have my stuff picked up if I wouldn't pay. He is not a good person, he lies and will treat you like you are less than human.

Nonell, was introduced to me through Ovliven, as the manager for the California area. She was going to be managing my shipment from California. She was very sweet and was willing to give me the time to speak and I felt like she was listening to me. However she was very slow to communicate about my move. I would ask questions and it would be days later that I might get a response. In the end she made me feel like I should have been a lawyer so I could actually use the correct words to get a response that was accurate and true.

Lastly there was Bob, he was the delivery driver. He was a smoother, he liked to talk a lot and just smooze. This schmoozing felt like he was trying to make me forget all the B.S. that I went through during the moving process.

So now the issues that I ran into. First was that all the communication that was done after the initial down payment was initiated by them, if i wanted answers, i had to wait for them to want something from me. This ran the entire time of the process, from after the initial deposit was made until well now, as many items where either broken or lost during the move, and i am trying to get this resolved. Next was the attitude and lack of respect that the pick up movers showed. They wanted to over charge on everything, and showed no proof on why they should. But as I needed to move I was in a bind. Then once they had my items i was told that the delivery would be between 2 and 14 days, I was told that this wouldn't actually be an issue as the company has a hub in Denver which is basically where i was going. Turns out that this 2 to 14 days is not what you would think of at 2 to 14 days but as i was told on day 16 that it was 2 to 14 business days. This was a giant slap in the face as they told me three different times that my items were scheduled for delivery but never gave me a date. Talk about ways to lie to the customer. Once my items were actually delivered it looked like they were stored outside, they were covered in direct and dead bugs, and many of the boxes had water damage on them. The last part is that since many of my items were damaged and/or completely broken they are refusing to talk to me about what they are going to do to replace or pay for these items. All I can hope for is that this will help other people avoid this con artist company.

Horrible service

By far the worst experience ever. My sales guy Aaron is surely in the running to be to next Joe Biden. The lies are uncandid and he definitely should be in politics. First lie started with us being quoted one price and having to pay double that putting us in the ballpark of almost $13k. Mind you I explained we moving out of a 3700sq ft 4 car garage house with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths. So on moving day three movers show up in a large truck equivalent to a large uhaul. They start a 12p work til 7p and have to come back a second day because obviously the truck was too small. The second day they put in another 7hrs. Now its time to have our stuff delivered. The driver tries to hustle us $400 to come a day early. We were given a 3 day window for delivery initially. Once the driver arrives he attempts to try to get more cash because we have stairs in our home again. Also showed up with 3 tweekers/ ccrackheads. These guys ruined my $1500 dining table

by shredded the screw after putting it on incorrectly.

None of my end tables or coffee tables were put back

together. I haven't gotten a response or an apology

from my sales guy Aaron at 3233326263 or Noelle who

arranged the delivery.

Worst Company in the History of Capitalism

I don’t believe there are enough adjectives in the English language to describe the level of unpleasant my experience with this organization has been. There is not any aspect of this company’s service that I would recommend to anyone – for any circumstance!

The movers arrived to my home around 6:30 in the morning for a job that was scheduled at 8am and were eager to begin packing. We compromised on a 7am start time, so I had enough time to wake my wife and kids and get them dressed. The movers rushed through the packing portion of the move, using 1/3 of the packing materials that the company charged us for. Instead of packing our items in boxes, they elected to tape the drawers to our dressers with the items still inside. Our televisions were taken off the wall, but they refused to take the mounts off the wall. Lastly, they were unable to pack all of our items on the truck (I’m sure this would not have been the case if they actually disassembled our items correctly in the first place).

Once the rush job from hell was complete, we were kindly informed that our move was actually $4,000 more expensive than the “great rate” we received during our quote. We were moving to the other side of the country and had to be out of our home, so there was no point in disputing the charges. We paid the increased deposit and haven’t seen our stuff since.

In the 45 days that have ensued, their customer service department has been mostly unresponsive. The few underwhelming exchanges we’ve had with their customer service department have been a series of excuses, and constant examples of incompetence. We’ve been told on several occasions that our household goods were “en route to our location” and the drivers would reach out to us. It’s been 45 days since our house was packed and there is no confirmation as to whether or not this company will actually deliver our belongings.

There isn’t a low enough of a rating for me to give this organization – 0/5 stars is still too kind. I’ve given them a 1 star rating, because it is the lowest this site will allow me to rate them. To say this is the worst experience has been the worst moving experience of my life is a major understatement. I highly recommend folks steer clear of this place at all possible cost. This is a horrible organization with an incompetent staff, and your hard earned money is better spent with another business.

Do Not Use Company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANYI am very disappointed with the quality of customer service and the lack of professionalism shown from this company. I chose this company based on the other reviews shown and from what I can tell they had to have been written by the company themselves. Long story short I moved across country and when I I receive my thing some items had been stolen out of my boxes and some boxes did not arrive at all. Currently the missing items are valued over $1500. I sent the company 3 emails over the last week and have not received any response. I also called and the customer service rep ignored my claims and told me to send an email. It looks like I will unfortunately have to resort to legal action. And the story doesn't end there. Not only are my items missing I had to deal with one of the movers coming back to my house later to ask me for my phone number. Craziness.Save yourself some headache and choose a different company.

Grand piano move.

What a great experience. Lisa gave me a quote not to exceed and let me tell you not a penny more. I had a grand piano that I paid an arm and a leg for. Not many companies can move a piano but they did it with ease they wrapped it and had all the corners wrapped and carried as if it was their own. After speaking with 3 moving companies not one of them could do that. I am very happy and my piano is working great. Thank you Lisa Sam and mike. You guys went above and beyond.

Moving.

David at Los Angeles Transfer and Storage made my move from LA to Honolulu so easy. He arranged for my car to be shipped with very little information or paperwork needed from me. He also accommodated my requests for pick up of household goods on Thanksgiving Day. Both car and boxes arrived safe and secure. They were in the same condition as when I left them in the hands of Los Angeles Transfer and Storage in L A. Car shipped for around $1200-1500. 30+boxes for around $2,000-$2,500. Car arrived in 3 weeks. Boxes arrived in 1 month which allowed me time to get settled. Thanks again.

Long-distance move from California to Arkansas

Vehicle Transport from Los Angeles to Lowell, Arkansas.

Originally, I was going to use another vehicle transportation company, but they ended up being super sketchy! I didn't realize this until 11:30 pm the night before I left LA. David was my contact for my apartment move so I texted him at 11:30 pm Monday night and asked him to help! David saved the day - literally! The next morning, I drove my car to David's personal storage place -- we had no other choice b/c I was leaving LA and since it was so last minute, there was no way to get my car picked up that fast. So David stored my car in his garage until he found a driver. David worked his tail off to find me a driver to get my car sent to Arkansas as fast as he could. My car arrived on Monday (6 days after I left it at David's garage). The driver, Paul, was excellent! He was super professional and very careful with my car. I watched him drive my car off the big semi & almost vomitted b/c it looked so scary!! I tip my hat to Paul b/c if I had to drive that car off the rig, I would have wrecked it for sure! He did a great job. My car arrived dirty (of course b/c it had been storming that day) but in perfect condition. No scratches, dints, and nothing was broken. I was also in contact with David throughout the entire process, which gave me great comfort that I was being taken care of as well as my car. I'm so grateful to them for everything!

Great Move!

David and his Team from Los Angeles Transfer and Storage did a great job with our move from Los Angeles to Denver.
From the first conversation David was 100% transparent with the process and options.

Already the day after our first talk he came by and sized up the move and gave a competitive offer on the spot. We agreed on a partial pack option and already a few days after the contract was signed one his guys dropped of the packing material that was included in the price.

On the day of the move the crew showed up on time and were extremely helpful and friendly. We had done our part but as an unexperienced customer I was concerned about if I had done all that was expected for a partial pack. To my relief there was haggling about what was included or not and the team just kicked in and did a great job packing our whole house down in a day.

On the day of delivery (lucky for us it was several days earlier than we had expected) the delivery crew parked the big 18-wheeler right in front of our house and started unpacking. Even though they arrived later in the afternoon the guys kept on going to the end with no complaining and a great attitude. They checked out 11PM with all boxes in the right place and the furniture assembled.

Great experience - Thanks to David and crew.

This is the second move I do with los angeles transfer.
I wanted to thank mike and david for helping coordinate my move from NY to los angeles.

Getting the quote and setting move was simple. Pick up and delivery was on time as promised.

Thanks again for all your help.

Long-distance move from California to Louisiana

Flawless, Painless & Ease, What A Relief.

Moving all the way from N. Hollywood to New Orleans, is not the simplest move, but thanks to L.A. Transfer & Storage, David whom I first spoke with to set everything up, to Jose & Al meeting me at my storage unit, in a timely manner exactly when they said they would, to the professionalism & knowledge plus care when packing my valuables, to the fun we had, yes I helped, it was the simplest and most worry free experience I have ever had and I have moved all over the country because of my career. The contact and communication during the process of transport was perfect to letting me know when I could expect delivery. I can't recall the delivery driver name at the moment, but he and his son, were beyond helpful and also fun guys as I was helping them to bring my belongings inside as well. I have never used a moving service before as I had always packed, loaded, transported and unloaded myself, but the price to hire L.A. Transfer was very good, the service was impeccable and extremely trustworthy and all pieces arrived in perfect condition as when first packed. I will certainly use L.A. Transfer again for other upcoming moves in addition I highly recommend them to anyone that's moving. Thank you guys, you are the best.

Long-distance move from Florida to California

Halfway there, so far fantastic!

LA Transfer and Storage definitely have a secret weapon, and his name is David. From my very first inquiry I've had amazing response times and have felt very comfortable with the process. It is clear that this company wants to provide customers with a good moving experience, which is rare.
I am moving cross-country from Florida to California, and I was very worried after reading so many moving horror stories online, so I did my homework and kept reading reviews until I found LA Transfer. So glad I did. David is great at explaining the process, never left a question unanswered, always got back to me very quickly. Today was moving day. The team that showed up here at the Florida end was efficient, polite, helpful. I asked for a full service move, and they had my entire apartment wrapped up, packed and ready to go in 4 hours.
I don't have a place in California yet, so my things will be in their storage facility till I find a home - I'll update the review on unpacking day :).

Long-distance move from Burbank, CA to Plano, TX

LA to Dallas move.

Recently we moved from LA to Dallas, and used Los Angeles Transfer and Storage for moving household goods & car with really short notice of couple of days. Our experience with LATS was pleasant one, David quickly got into act, provided the estimate, scheduled the move, gave us updates, worked with us on the date of move, responded back to all my texts & ensured we got our stuff delivered. I was concerned a bit in between to track my car, but David followed up & ensured everything was on track. We were really impressed with packaging/pickup crew, and their work. Since there were different carrier involved for car move, tracking probably was not smooth but David will follow-up. Both household goods & car delivery drivers were really awesome & nice.

We couldn't have done our LA to Dallas move with in couple of days, without Los Angeles Transfer and Storage, especially without David! He might have had quite a lot of things going on at his end, but he ensured to responded back to all our texts & concerns at various stages of our move. We really appreciate David and his crew effort with this move!

Local move within Los Angeles, CA

Long overdue review..first part of move (great), second part (NOT OK.

This review is long overdue. Initially I was meant to move from LA to Dallas. The initial quote for the move was $1,900. Which I was told included packing, boxes, etc.. However, be warned, if you attempt to move any additional items, or would like to store any additional items (even an additional box), be ready to pay through the NOSE for it. By the end of the initial move (stuff placed in storage for a couple months), the quote had jumped up roughly $450.00, which was the additional cost for an extra box of clothes and a futon I decided to keep. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up canceling my move to Dallas, and decided that I would stay local due to employment changes/commitments, and wanting to stay closer to my family as my brother passed away.

Given this, I was expecting a significant refund, as my belongings were no longer being shipped across country to Dallas. However, this was not the case. This is where I became extremely disappointed. Dave consistently argued that the price difference from a local move to a move to Dallas, was "not that different" and that the majority of the cost came from packing, storing, and making an inventory of the items. So essentially, I was looking at $2,400 for a LOCAL move in Los Angeles. I have moved several times locally in Los Angeles, and utilized other moving companies, that cost me $600 (including storage for a month) that did a BETTER job.

Upon my return to Los Angeles, the movers were FOUR hours late. So not only was I sitting around for 1/2 a day, but this also cost me wages for 1/2 a day, which as a Dr. is fairly significant. As the last "move" of the day, I felt the movers were very rushed. The kitchen table wasn't assembled properly, TV stand (very heavy) left upright with packing on it, only for me to try and move it myself the following day and injure my back, and NUMEROUS pieces of my property were damages. They destroyed the lights on the bottom of my bed, and offered me a whopping $18.00. They destroyed a $300.00 office chair, and offered $30.00 as this was calculated by "pound." An office lamp ($125.00), was broken and unable to be fixed, for which I was offered $9.00 for. They amended the initial offer, although very little.

David consistently tried to encourage me to leave favorable reviews, and did offer me a slight refund as the move was local, however, this was extremely minimal and didn't cover a fraction of what the TRUE difference would be had I sourced out a different company for a local move. I was aware that this company was a bit more in terms of pricing, however do feel that you pay for what you get. With these guys, it is simply not the case. They attempt to make you feel like they are going out of the way to be nice and help you out, but it's all just a farce, because their quality of work is sub-standard and overpriced. I am now planning a move to NYC, and am just realizing how much I was ripped off and was inclined to write this post and warn others.

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Las Vegas, NV

Los Angeles to Las Vegas.

Overall very good and fairly painless experience for my move from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, with one exception during delivery detailed below. Throughout the whole process, my contact at the company was very responsive, pickup/delivery was on-time, and no items were missing or damaged.

Within a few minutes after submitting my info through their website and request to be contacted, I got a call to discuss my move and set up an in-home estimate. A few days later, on a Thursday afternoon, a representative met with me at my residence and I was given a flat-rate quote for door-to-door pick-up, transfer, and delivery of my belongings, including any remaining boxes and packaging that I may need. An additional fee ($250.00) for a potentially necessary delivery shuttle was also discussed and quoted in the event that the 18-wheeler used for the long haul would be unable to park at my new residence. In the end, though, this did not happen and the fee was not charged.

Three days later on Sunday morning, pick-up, packaging, and inventory of my items and furniture took about 2.5 hours for a large 1-bedroom apartment between three personnel who worked quickly, and were friendly and courteous.

Delivery was scheduled for and took place the following Tuesday morning. Somewhere in the move between L.A. and L.V. my belongings were transferred to a local subcontractor, New Planet Moving & Storage (NPM&S), who were then responsible for the delivery to my new residence. Upon meeting with the two workers handling my delivery, I was informed that I was being charged an additional $250.00 due to the distance from the truck loading ramp to the elevator at my new building being longer than 75 feet. I told them flat-out that I would not be paying this as my original quote was a flat rate for door-to-door service and did not include provisions for any additional fees besides the one listed above (quite the coincidence that what they wanted to charge me was the same as the unnecessary shuttle fee above, huh?). They (NPM&S) then tried to negotiate the fee down to $175.00 and, again, I told them no. Eventually, I had to call L.A. Transfer & Storage who then had to contact the local company (NPM&S) and work something out between themselves. All of this took an hour on top of the 3 hours for delivery.

Although it may have been NPM&S’s policy to charge for a “long-distance carry,” it’s not the customer’s responsibility to inform them (read: argue) about the terms set in the original quote with the customer’s contracted company -- this is something that needs to be handled beforehand and agreed upon by the two companies. An unnecessary, avoidable headache in an otherwise smooth experience.
