My sister is elderly and on chemotherapy and wanted to move from her apartment building to a smaller apartment within Sykesville. I called Jake's a month ahead of schedule and they gave me a very fair price. The day before the move Jake's called me to confirm time and place.
On the day of the move Jake's arrived on time, asked me what they were moving and if we needed to discard any furniture because that would cost extra but they would take it away. They promised me the move would take 3 hours with 3 men. They were correct, courteous and very careful with my sister's furniture. They set it up in the new apartment and took away all the trash. Anytime I wanted to ask a question the leader was there to politely answer the question.
When the move was over my sister was very happy and not stressed out because of Jake's movers. This company is better than other companies I have used in the past. It is family owned and local. I recommend them because of their price, how courteous they are and how professional they pack and move your furniture. They did not stop until the move was completed.

5 guys, 2 trucks, one day in state move. Guys were fast and hardworking. Price was not cheap but it was competitive. We checked with 5 different companies; but, Jake’s price included ALL the requirements we were looking to get for the price. It was well worth it. They finished ahead of schedule. It was not an easy move but they were careful and everything made it without any catastrophes. Highly recommend. Talk to Tracy, she will work it all out for you. Very responsive company.

We found ourselves in a situation that required a last minute, emergency move in Washington DC. Jake's Moving and Storage manager, John's patience and professionalism in helping us sort out our options and accommodating our complicated needs was fantastic. The moving team was assembled and arrived in a few hours, and were also incredibly accommodating and efficient and undaunted by the mess. They were organized and managed to get everything packed, loaded ,and moved into storage in under 6 hours.

We used Jake's to move furniture, on fairly short notice, and they were exceptional. I worked with John on all the pre-planning and he answered all of my questions in a thorough and professional manner. He made me feel very confident that we made the right decision to choose them for our move, and John met our compressed timeline to complete the move. When the three (3) men arrived, on time, on the day of the move, they assessed the contents and then got right to work, wrapping our furniture in an efficient and safe manner, so that our contents were well-protected and for their safety when moving the furniture. The men were very pleasant and proficient throughout the few hours we spent with them. There were no surprises or issues during the move and I would definitely use Jake's Moving in the future and would recommend them for their moving services.

The company we had scheduled to do our move did not show up. I called Jake's Moving and Storage and they had a team there in 3hours. The movers were amazing. I had never hired a moving company before and now I will never move without one. They were well worth the money. They had boxes and helped pack things I had missed. They wrapped all the furniture and TV's, were careful not to break or damage anything. They even moved items from the attic and garage. I would highly recommend Jake's Moving and Storage to anyone that's planning a move.

We had a great experience with Jake's Moving and Storage with the "all inclusive price". We hired them to move approx 10,000 pounds of self packed boxes, furniture, and odds and ends that they packed for us in a 27ft truck. I can't describe how hard the three movers worked all day and got the job done. They were efficient, kind, professional and had a great work ethic.
When we contacted Jake's, John helped us with estimating what we needed. We thought we might need two trucks. John had us send him pictures and assured us we only needed one truck. It was perfect and saved us money.

I was in a full on panic when I was two weeks from my xState move and still had not finalized my moving plans. As someone who has moved at least 20 times in 45 years, I should be equipped to handle moves. It really does not get easier. The stress invariably creeps in.
Choosing Jake's for my local move, that included a period of storage, was a good decision. They worked well with and for me through a number of date changes. When I ended up relocating to a smaller home than initially anticipated, Jake's was able to help me dispose of items that I could not move-in with.
