I think about this awful experience often. My parents stuff took over 40 days to arrive. It was from CA to WA. It was obvious our stuff was looked through and jewelry was stolen. Jewelry that’s been in the family my entire life. Yes, my mom shouldn’t have packed that away but they shouldn’t have even did what they did. AND TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, they finally show up with ONE guy to unload. Now tell me how that works. We were told we didn’t have to lift a finger but my husband and dad had to help unload. The man said he could find help and “come back tomorrow.” Would you wait another day to get your stuff after waiting over a month? Obviously not. They’re sneaky. So make sure to look through EVERYTHING before you sign because once you sign you received your stuff, you’re screwed. Avoid it altogether, and AVOID this company. If I could go back, I’d rent a uhaul and move it all myself.

I moved from CA to TN I hired Alliance Van Lines and they hired this company. I had precious air looms stolen every piece of furniture I had was either broken or scratched, This is not a exaggeration. All the inside parts from my Grandfather Clock were missing, a very sentimental statue from a passed family member wasn’t even on the truck when it arrived in TN, neither was a large metal garden arch way (both of these items I paid extra for white glove service) I believe they were stolen by someone at this company. My stuff was literally THROWN in the truck with 2 other households, the truck driver that delivered the load said he has never seen anything like it. It didn’t matter that these items were listed on the paperwork when they picked up they just say “file a claim”. I’ve cried for 2 days. Please don’t make my mistake. I have filed a police report in TN and I’m going to file a police report in Las Vegas for the stolen items. I’m in contact with a attorney. $12,000 to ship at a minimum $25,000 in damages, and heartache. I’d love to see them respond to this review.

Do not, under any circumstances, use J&D Moving for your move. They care absolutely nothing about their clients or their client’s belongings. They held our belongings for 62 days, all the while telling me they would be delivered in “5 to 7 days” or “7 to 10 days”. They told me that 4 or 5 times. They rarely answered my calls and never called back after I left messages. When the truck finally showed up and backed in the driveway, there was a mattress strapped to the back of the truck. The plastic was torn and the mattress was soaked. Fortunately, it wasn’t ours. When they opened up the truck, there were 2 beds, mattresses and all, and a dresser and some other cabinet, all of which wasn’t even ours. When we got to our things, it was obvious that things were thrown into the truck with no regard for protecting them from damage. Our beautiful antique school desk was destroyed, along with many other miscellaneous things damaged. But the worst part was all the things that were missing. A full bed with a twin trundle bed pullout underneath—all missing! A 6 ft stepladder, industrial handtruck, miter saw, and (2) 40 qt coolers, all missing. I don’t know that I’ve ever had dealings with a more unprofessional, uncaring, dishonest company in my life.

Our move cost us just under $20,000 - we also paid for their platinum package. The movers were terrible! Our couch was ripped apart to fit, our entertainment system had wires cut, TVs were not boxed or protected, the list can go on. They even moved our date up so they could save money which led to us having to move into a storage unit and hire another company to move into the home.

I collect board games that many cannot be replaced due to limited production runs. They did not box them up, instead I found them haphazardly placed all over our storage units, upside down with parts falling out. Most of them are not damaged and with pieces missing.

When trying to get a small refund on services not delivered, I consistently got brushed off, lied to and ultimately told to make a claim for a useless $0.60 per pound. For each item, you have to submit tons of information which is deliberately impossible.

This company is a scam. Do not trust them at all!

Do not, under any circumstances let this company come anywhere near your furniture or any of your belongings that you treasure even a little. This is a demolition company, not a moving company. With purposeful intent, they destroyed every piece of furniture they moved. In fact, when the team came to unload, the first thing he said was "you better get your camera ready, this stuff is trash." We went through the very tedious process of filing a claim through CSIpros and after waiting four months for some financial compensation, their agent notified us that the case is closed, J&D Moving Company is no longer active, they pulled the contract. The whole consortium is run not unlike a criminal organization. They do not care about your belongings, nor will they answer the phones and try to assist in any way. All they want is more business to continue the cycle. By not patronizing this company, you will save yourself a great deal of grief and frustration as well as having your belongings intact when you get to your final destination. Repeat, save yourself money and your furniture, look elsewhere. You have been warned.

There are three phases to a move

There are three phases to a move. Pickup, waiting, and delivery. I hired Priceline Logistics to move my sister. Pickup went well. They were on time and the guys did a good job packing and loading. They are a broker, and they hired J&D Moving.

We are in phase two: waiting. This has been terrible. Pickup was February 25th. We were told the furniture would be consolidated and moved, and we would be contacted with a window for delivery. We expected 2 weeks more or less. It has been more than 6 weeks, and we still don't have a delivery date. We have been told three times that the furniture is loaded and "on the way".

When calling J&D Moving, they read a script basically. The carrier is having issues, but "you should get delivery by the end of this week". We've heard that for three weeks now.

If you use this company, be sure to ask specifically about delivery. Communication is terrible.

The stuff is either in a warehouse, or on a truck. There is no excuse not to know how long it will take to deliver, within a day or two. Giving inaccurate estimates just ruins their credibility. I got to the point where I wondered if they were scammers, and if we would ever see the furniture again.

Update: The mover first told me on March 12th that the furniture was loaded and would ship the next day. He later told me it actually shipped on March 26th. They have told me for three weeks now that it would deliver "this week". Their "delivery dates" have come and gone with no communication from them.

Very nervous as J&D was booked through third party so wasn’t sure what we were getting. Luis and Michael showed up professionally and positive; very communicative and told us to sit back. They wrapped everything to protect it. They loaded everything quickly and the move went smoothly. The actual move was great. Grateful to those two!

Wish: J&D would have called ahead of time to let us know about their invoice and insurance requirements, as well as instructions on cubic feet/billing of truck as well as what we were responsible for wrapping, etc.

Next time I won’t use third party logistics company and won’t hesitate to call J&D directly for the move. Just make sure to ask plenty of questions and understand the process.

They speak Russian in my house as I ask them to speak English in my home please but no. They gave us the run around as well, then 5 weeks later they hold our stuff for random, I find out they dont have employees, they hire people from craigslist. The owner is a Fruad and commits Fraud based on the contract. They asked for another 3300$ or we do t get our belongings. This are stolen tools and some other expensive items. The items that did show up most broken or at least destroyed. The Owner Jeff would scream, lie and talk like he is Priceline Logistics to my wife, while screaming and swearing at here I took the phone and Jeff with J and D movers continued to throw a fit like a 3 year old would. We are in the process of filing claims under their insurance provider along with Our Attorneys will go to litigation to get our money and belongings back as they destroyed about 100k in belongings. I said I would pay after we see our stuff now I understand Jeff's scam and why he held our stuff random. If you use them to move you anywhere you must be as stupid as I was. Learn from me they must go out of business so nobody has to go through what we did. Help our fellow Americans get rid of J and D Movers.

We are very happy with our recent move in Manhattan, thanks to Greg, Max, Tim and Dominic. On the day of move, they showed up precisely on time and were very professional from start to finish. All four movers were courteous and efficient, and they took good care of all the items in our apartment including my children’s telescope and my plants. We have a piano, and they managed to move it in a very gentle way. Nothing was chipped or scratched! With this moving company the whole process of relocation has been a pleasant experience. Highly recommend them!

I do not typically take the time to write reviews unless something is really bad or really great. This experience was one of the worst of my life and I still haven't received a courtesy call from the owner (requested multiple times). Moved from Arizona to Colorado (3000 sq ft house) and they sent two guys to pack the entire house and load the truck. Needless to say, we ended up packing the house and ended up paying for a service we never received. I discussed this with their customer service department the same day and told them to make it right on the drop off. Provide more movers and unpack my stuff and we will be good. Guess who showed up with our stuff and two guys to unload the truck? Guess who was their third worker for twelve hours so they could finish in a timely manner??? They should have paid me. I have left multiple messages to discuss this with their owner who refuses to call me back and discuss it. Complete coward. I don't know how you sleep at night with the way you treat people.

DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT use this company to move you. I had several antique and vintage items that I had them move, every piece except one was damaged, the mirror of an antique vanity was broken off and I told them to remove the mirror, they did not and he said ”I thought it would be okay.” A Vintage coffee table had two legs broken off, two shelves are missing from an antique secretary, our dining room table legs are missing and EVERy piece of furniture except one has nicks, scratches, dings, gouges, cracks and scrapes including my antique piano and an antique tall chest of drawers. They lost some of the hardware on two chests and I’m still not sure if I got all my boxes, not done unpacking yet. Also two fragile glass items they packed were broken, packed underneath heavier glass items!!! No knowledge of how to pack for a move!!! It will cost Tens of thousands to replace, repair and restore my damaged furniture and the company has only answered one phone call! I have called many many times! Never received a return call. I am still waiting to hear from their insurance company it has been about 60 days since I finished filing the claim! And to top it all off they gave me two boxes of someone else’s belongings!!!! They won’t answer or return my calls regarding this or any other reason I call! You would think they would like to help someone they moved restore their belongings! Also they loaded boxes of items we had packed that we were going to take ourselves rather than packing things I had contracted for them to pack and take!!! Lazy!!! They just didn’t care!!!!! Also they have no knowledge of how to move a piano!!!! We had to help them on both ends and they very nearly destroyed it in the process. Very, very unhappy with this company!!!!!! In addition they tried to leave an hour after they arrived saying they had to deliver what was already in their truck, to a place that was 5 hours away one way and said they would come back later! I said No! TheY said the company would send another truck in 4 hours!!!! I called and complained and the first truck came back, but very unprofessional!!!!! Nothing good about this company!!!Run away from them as fast as you can!!!!!!

If only I could give them no stars. This company damaged our belongings because they don't take the care to properly prepare items to be moved on a truck, taken off, driven over 1,000 miles and then taken off a truck. They sent ONE guy to deliver the furniture which meant WE HAD TO HELP UNLOAD THE TRUCK THAT WE WERE PAYING FOR SOMEBODY ELSE TO DO!! They damaged our desk, stand up desk, head board, foot board, dresser, and treadmill. We took up less room then estimated. We were told no refund because we reserved that much space on the truck. BUT OUR STUFF WAS NOT TRANSPORTED BY THE SAME TRUCK THAT WAS LOADED SO THIS LAME REASON MAKES NO SENSE. Their website is a lie. They do not take the care to properly pack your belongings. Terrible experience. Save your money. Rent your own truck.

This company was hired through a broker in FL. They showed up on the date promised and did a great job of packing and loading my household goods. I was told at the time that my goods would be delivered in 5 days. HOWEVER, they have now had my goods for nearly six (6) weeks. I am almost 80 years old with a heart condition that does not tolerate stress well. Let me tell you, I am now stressed to the max. I'm afraid I will have a heart attack over this. We are sleeping on the floor. Our clothes are in the load being held by J&D. We have no furniture, no dishes, no kitchen utensils, no tools. We have basically nothing. We are great grandparents. All our family photos and momentos are being held. Our lives are being held captive by J&D moving. I have called MANY, MANY times to inquire about delivery. I have now been promised 6 different delivery dates. NOTHING! I have literally BEGGED AND PLEADED with these people to bring me my stuff. I offered to pay extra if they would just deliver my goods. All for NOTHING.

I guess our lives are being held hostage, but no demands have been made. ALL I WANT IS MY STUFF. Surely there is some government agency that investigates this kind of thing. My wife believes that our belongings have been stolen and wants to file a police theft report. I (for some unknown reason) keep clinging to hope, but I am running out of it. This is the first time I have ever reviewed a company. I'm not a complainer. I'm just an old, retired guy who is being screwed over by J&D. However, I am also a fair and reasonable person who would write a better review if J&D were to deliver my goods in the condition they were loaded in Tehachapi, and provide a plausible explanation for the delay. At this point I would give zero stars, but the system does not permit that. That could change for the better if I experience a good final outcome.

I would do zero stars if i could. Worst company, no communication. They hold your stuff hostage in a warehouse and take weeks upon weeks to get your stuff. I have waited over a month and every week they say it will be this week. Each week comes and go with no communication from them. I have had to call every week sometimes multiple times just to find out my stuff is not being delivered. They loaded onto a trailer then unloaded into a warehouse. Worst Logistics ever. DO NOT USE THEM or a brokerage firm that uses them. They picked up our stuff July 5th and it is now August 2nd with no end in sight. You will end up paying way more just for food, dishes, etc to live without your stuff then if you higher a better company! I feel bad for the drivers that contract with this company as well because they don't offer then any support, make 2 guys who just drove long hours load the truck and then they show up at houses to livid people because the company has had their personal belongings for so long. Based on the reviews that I am just now seeing, i will likely have broken items and boxes that have been opened. I wish i would have seen these previously.

Literally everything about this place is a nightmare. Want to talk to someone? You will have to call between 10-30 times before someone picks up. A massive change happens to your delivery? They won't tell you. You have to call when they just don't show up and ask for updates, which will take hours to get someone on the line.

We were originally told delivery on the 1st. Great.

Never heard anything, so a day or two before I call. After half a day of calls they tell me it is now the 2nd or 3rd. Ok fine.

The third comes, never hear back, so spend half a day calling them. Now it's the 5th or 6th... This repeats over and over, never hearing anything, always having to call a dozen times to hear back from someone, always bumping my date back.

Finally on the 11th they tell me that a driver is driving to the warehouse right now to pick it up, and will deliver on the 13th or 14th.

I called 27 times over 8 hours on the 12th, and left a voicemail, and never heard back.

I called multiple times on the 13th and was told he didn't take it after all, but someone is coming on the 14th to take it. I think we all know how this is going to go tomorrow. I will call 10-20 times to see if it was picked up, it won't have been, and we will keep repeating this cycle until the end of time.

They have had my belongings for 5 weeks now, and just can't seem to do their ONE job.

THEY ARE A COMPLETE SCAM. THEY PICKED OUR HOME CONTENTS UP WITHOUT ISSUE, THEN WHEN DROPPING OFF, THEIR TRUCK BROKE DOWN (THEY USE ONLY RENTALS, THEY DO NOT HAVE THEIR OWN FLEET) THEY THEN MOVED OUR BELONGINGS FROM ONE TRUCK TO ANOTHER REPLACEMENT, WHEN THEY WERE UNLOADING, OUR CONTENTS WERE SHOVED ON TOP OF EACH OTHER. TOTAL DAMAGE AT LEAST $6000.00, THEY USE MOVING APT TO HANDLE THEIR CLAIMSWHICH IS A JOKE, THE"CLAIMS. DEPT." TOOK 3 MONTHS TO OFFER US $75.00 FOR TOTAL DAMAGE. YOU CAN NEVER REACH ANYONE AT THEIR OFFICE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO MOVE YOUR BELONGINGS.
