Gold Standard Moving and Storage LLC

Had a horrible experience with this move. This company is just a broker. They don’t actually move your things. They set you up with a local company, one that you would never use on your own. Once they got there the price was about $1500 higher. This seems to happen a lot in the reviews I’ve read.

We were told our times would take week to get there by Gold Standard like all the other customers, but it took a month. Nothing like getting to your destination and finding out that your belongings are not going by to be there for a while. Then they lost about 3k of our things. We filed a claim with them and now can’t get anyone to answer us back. Gold Standard will say this is not their responsibility, but I wouldn’t have picked that company on my own.

Move size: 4 Bedroom Home Service cost: $7500

You may be sorry if you use this co. They give a 3 day window to come pick up your stuff. At the end of the time, literally at the last hour, we called to see if they were close. We were told the one truck thru have broke dn n had to wait till the next day to get it fixed. Ok we are on a time crunch here we have to be in another state for a job at a certain day. No one bothered to notify us that the truck was broke down. The next morning still we have not heard anything from anyone we called the company many times asking just to let us know if the truck was going to make it on the 4th day, so we could find out if we needed to get another company to do the move. We repeatedly are getting the runaround for being told by the call center that there's no supervisor on duty that there's no other phone number we can call, and that the driver will call us when they're on their way. Like I tried to explain we didn't need the ETA. We just needed someone to tell us if the truck was going to be fixed and on the road this day. We have now called multiple times. Have not still heard from anyone from the company and every time we call we get a run around. They tell us there's no other numbers and no supervisor and blah blah blah, just keep saying that the driver will call us so far we have not heard from anybody from the moving company or the movers ( infinity movers LLC )that they subcontracted, so now it's the afternoon of the fourth day we still have not heard from anybody and we don't know if we should get a different truck or keep waiting. This is very unprofessional, very rude of them and very frustrating for us. Just a little communication would be appreciated we just want to know if the truck is actually going to make it or not. Besides the money we're out we don't know now at this point if we can even get another truck. We are so very aggravated.

SCAM!!!! If I could give them ZERO starts I would. My mom moved September 26 from AZ back to MI and for some weird reason, she still has no furniture no clothes nothing. The date has been changed several times it is now October 15th. It is almost a month in the making and the date is nowhere in sight. She has medications that are needed more than anything. They have a "21-day window" which I believe is absurd. Every time we call they say it's still in our policy protected by the 21 days it's horrible. She is in the house just waiting, she paid half upfront. This company is horrible they act so nice them they scam you out of money by pretending they care and pretending that they will have your stuff in good timing. Never use them its definitely a scam. All they are concerned about is taking your money.!

Horrible customer service! DO NOT book with this “moving company”. Agreed upon pick up date was sept 28th no one called or contacted us, we had to call multiple numbers and leave messages before we were able to get ahold of anyone. Our contact persons (Anthony, Sean Donovan and JJ) were of little to no help and did NOT reach out to us after multiple attempts of contact; when I finally got JJ on the phone he rudely told me to contact the main number (even though he was my point of contact) and hung up on me. Our stuff still hasn’t been picked up as of 10/29, but will update. This whole company feels like a HUGE SCAM save yourself the headache and book with a reliable moving company, Gold Standard is NOT it.

This company should have their license revoked. I contracted with them for a move from CA to NY in July. They didn't show up in the 3 day pick-up window, so I called and was told THEY were cancelling me because they didn't have trucks available. They didn't even bother to call to tell me!!! It gets worse. They agreed to refund my $1,252.00 deposit within 9-12 business days. Almost THREE MONTHS later and I'm still waiting. I have phoned numerous times (treated rudely by Michael, JJ, Damiyn, Ashton, and Travis) and filed a complaint with BBB, and all I get from Gold Standard is that it's been approved and there's NO TIMELINE for them to return MY MONEY to me. My next step is to file charges in FL for Misappropriation of Funds and Theft by Deception.

Move size: Studio Service cost: $3226

A 100% scammer. Here is what they did to us:

1. Contract quote changed one day prior to move more than doubling the price when we had to options left.

2. Claimed computer made a 44% error in the cubic feet despite pictures and measurement of each item.

3. Switched us from the national van line to small independent called DEPENDABLE who showed up in a rented truck from BUDGET.

4. Balance of the move an ongoing nightmare. The movers delivered 3 days earlier vs the contract when were not there and had to drive like crazy to get to our home.

Net, GOLD STANDARD should be called "Lead Standard". They are in business to scam you so RUN, RUN, RUN!

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. They are a moving sub contracting company and not the actual mover. They underbid you even when you review your items and confirm..They than at the very day of the move, sub the job out to a different mover. They pack and set all your items in the street, and refuse to load it until you sign a new contract with them. My move was supposed to be $10,850 it cost me over $17,000 and i still do not even have my possessions delivered yet. DANGER STAY AWAY PLEASE.

When I called to review all this with a manager at Gold Standard, I was told they did not take calls and that I could only speak with the customer service rep. They completely denied me any ability to discuss what had happened and why. No closure from them at all. I am now working with the BBB.

This 4 star rating is false. I can't be a long list of glowing accomplishments as they do not even MOVE YOU

I found Gold Standard Moving & Storage online. I was told up front by the representative that they were a broker and would take my information, provide a quote based on information I provided, and pair me with a moving company for my move from Oregon to California. I called a month in advance of my projected moving date.

After I contracted my move with Gold Standard Moving & Storage I talked to a friend who warned me about moving company scams. I became concerned and checked reviews, and became concerned that I had not chosen wisely. I called Gold Standard back and they reassured me that their services (and the company I would be assigned to’s services) were legitimate and there was nothing to worry about. I continued to worry myself sick for the entire month.

But, I was happily proven wrong! Gold Standard Moving & Storage did EXACTLY as they promised: contacted me 7 days before my scheduled move to confirm ALL DETAILS about my move, and discussed every concern. They also contacted me the day before my scheduled pick up to confirm the pick up time and give me contact info. The cost WAS adjusted because I realized I had more boxes and additional furniture items than I originally was quoted for, but the adjustment was not exorbitant, and there were no surprises or false promises. They explained the cubic foot calculations and weight calculations. Every single person I spoke with (and I called A LOT because of my worries) was professional, kind, and absolutely helpful and understanding. Bravo, Gold Standard Moving & Storage. I mean it.

The moving company I was assigned to (D United Logistics) had bad reviews as well, but their service to me was EXCEPTIONAL. They were on time, carefully wrapped every piece of furniture, and since I boxed my own “boxable items”, they payed close attention to the ones I marked “FRAGILE” (which were many). The guys were organized, professional, and yet friendly and fun to work with.

I was originally quoted a 3-10 day turnaround for delivering my stuff to me in California from Oregon. They brought my home to me in TWO DAYS. They picked up and wrapped up everything from my Oregon apartment (three flights of stairs by the way) on a Saturday, and were unwrapping my furniture and placing it in my California home by the following Monday afternoon. I was truly amazed and am so grateful. I was the one who had to rush to California to meet the moving van.

Nothing was broken! And my boxes included China, crystal, and decorative mirrors and glass front cabinets. One box was dropped by accident in my garage in California, but nothing broke except the box itself. There were a couple (just two!) small nicks in just two furniture items but nothing major and I’m not even going to worry about it. I already repaired one nick and will be fine with the other one.

I have to say that I was absolutely blown away with relief that this stressful move went so well. I am actually proud to admit I was wrong in assuming this would be a nightmare; instead, it was an excellent experience. I WILL recommend both Gold Standard Moving & Storage AND D United Logistics to anyone and everyone.
