We have been extremely disappointed and will never recommend this company for a cross country (our situation) or even local move to anyone. We have yet to receive our items and we currently are without an estimated departure OR arrival date for our items 17 days after pickup in CA.

I would absolutely give a 0 star review if at all possible. This company is not at all what it's website claims to be. They are in no way a moving company, but they sure know how to continue to store your items and leave them there in coordination with whichever random second-rate moving company they decide to do business with.

Move size: 1 Bedroom Home Service cost: $6000

We hired this company for our move. It wasn’t until the movers arrived did we find out these guys were just a broker. So we paid a lot of money for nothing. They promised 5-7 day delivery. We are at almost two months now and nothing has been delivered. The company they hired is Virgin Movers and Storage. THEY HAVE A ONE STAR RATING. When Virgin arrived they measured everything again and immediately upped the contract price drastically. They know at moving day you’re screwed and can’t do anything else so they take full advantage. Every Virgin review is the same story. Increases price, No contact, no delivery date, nothing but silence. Every review also says very late delivery if it ever shows up (according to one). When the stuff does arrive it’s missing items and the stuff is damaged.

We are now just about at two months. The company they contracted is nothing short of criminal. No contact. No one answers calls. No one returns calls. We have no estimates on delivery. When we call gold standard we get a complete run around. ‘We’ll contact the mover and call you back’. We have never received a call back. We’ve called them at least 10 times. Everyone at Gold Standard is condescending. Their view is none of this is our fault, basically screw off. Even though they picked the movers it’s still not their fault. We ask for a refund which they refused. Short of reporting the items stolen I’m not sure what other action we can take.

We’ve reached the end of the delivery time frame, which was set up a month after pick up and still nothing. We called again and someone offered 15-20$ a day until it’s delivered. Now they’re using excuses, sick driver and no available truck so there is still no delivery date. We again ask for a refund. Gold Standard refuses to accept any responsibility and refuses to refund. Even though they hired this company and made promises they knew no one would be able to or even attempt to keep. This entire move has been a stressful disaster. I would never recommend this company. And we certainly would not recommend the movers they contracted, Virgin Moving and Storage. So here we sit a house with no furniture and no time table to get our stuff.

This was the best call I ever made when moving. Normally I just ask a few friends to come over and help but this time I decided to look on Google and find the best movers for the best price. I believe that I hit the jackpot because not only did they have better prices than all of the large moving companies, but they were very personal and extremely quick in everything they did. I cannot find the words to express how thankful I was for their help but they made it seem like it was no big deal at all. If they go out of their way this much for everyone then I don’t know if any other company could compete.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $725

1. Do NOT sign the contract on the 1st phone call. They will smoothe talk you to do so, and from what I've read here, hang up rudely if you don't. The fine print indemnifies Gold Standard from being able to deliver the binding estimate.

2. Do NOT give them your bank info over the phone.

3. The 10-day cancellation refund policy may be part of the scam, since the only way to do so is to call a phone number, which I suspect will be difficult to reach a person.

4. Research the company online, and you will see that their address is not correct, and that their claim to be a family business since 2011 is false: US DOT files and these reviews only back 2 years.

I am kicking myself for actually doing #1 & #2 before proper research. Even their emails to me claim they have a fleet of new vans, when they are a broker.

My bank is currently disputing the deposit charge based on a potential fraud claim, as I do not trust that I will receive the refund without a fight (see #3). I will post an update when this is resolved.

After booking my move I was given a three day window for when they would show up and told I would get a call when the movers were 1 hour away. After waiting till 4p.m. on the final day (also our final day in Seattle before flying to Vermont) I was concerned and upon reaching out to them myself was simply told the route was dissolved and they would have to reschedule. After a large amount of legwork I was able to extend my lease and get a friend to let the movers in when they were supposed to arrive one week later. I gave specific dates as my friend works long hours most days and it would need to be on one of his days off. Then 2 days before the rescheduled moveI get a call late at night from the movers saying they need to pick it up tomorrow morning (a day early ) or they wouldn't pick it up at all. Again we scrambled late at night in order to find someone available to get the keys from our friend and then go to the apartment early the next day. After one extra week and several hundred extra dollars our things are finally in transit although I have not yet received my belongings. All attempts to get an E.T.A. for delivery have been met with condescending comments and rudeness. Perhaps the worst customer service experience of my life and made the move so much more stressful than it already was. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR MOVES OF ANY KIND.

SKAM SKAM Worst experience ever. Do not use this company!! They got deposit and then the lies started. Suppose to pick up between 8/12 on Saturday 6/5/21 no show no call then after us trying to contact them many times got “Lydia” to call back very sorry then truck had problems then garantee pick up Tuesday June 8 between 9/12. I said need to fly out of here Wednesday morning so must have pickup. She garranteed Tuesday. Contacted Monday afternoon to double check and said all good. Guess what. Tuesday no call no truck! I waited 25 minutes on service line and “JJ” said truck running 3 hours late but would be there. All lies!! Must be really crappy to work for a company and your job is to feed BS and lies to your customers. I will be contacting Florida state attorney general’s office. Do not use this SKAM company
