Local move within Michigan

Fraudulent Company.

They took our deposit and then ghosted. We called repeatedly and they committed to showing up. They did not.

We filed a fraud claim with our credit card company, which reimbursed us immediately.

Seeing the fraud claim, and losing their money, they called. They asked us to withdraw the fraud claim and instead take a check refund from us. LMAO!

Long-distance move from Virginia to California

They delivered 89 of 161 items 6 days after the promised date, 46 a m.

They delivered 89 of 161 items 6 days after the promised date, 46 a month later and they did not deliver the remaining 26 Items. They always tried to get more money from you by giving stupid excuses, (my truck can’t get to your door, the furniture are too big? etc.).  They did the packing (charge me $900.00), the quality of the boxes they used was really bad, I have pictures that they show boxes are crumbled and falling apart. I would not recommend this company I have reported them to Department of Transportation and Better Business Bureau. This is a summary of the event:

Specifically, on March 26, 2012, Mr. xxx signed a contract with you to pack and deliver his personal belongings from McLean, Virginia to Folsom, California. The pickup date was April 19, 2012. The delivery date was to be May 6, 2012. You delivered just 89 of the 161 items that you picked up. After two weeks of daily telephone calls, you delivered 46 of the missing items on or about June 6, 2012. Since that time, Mr xxx has made several attempts to contact you by phone and e-mail to find out the status of the remaining 26 items.

You have not responded to any of his e-mails nor returned any of his phone calls.
The items that is still missing include the following:

1. Camera and photographs taken of my children while they were young and of my father and mother (who are now deceased). These photographs are priceless. They cannot be replaced.

2. Four - five pairs of summer “Zegna” pants. Estimated value = $1,440.00 to $1,800.00 ($360.00 each).

3. Five to ten “Zegna” shirts. Estimated value = $1,750.00 to $3,500.00 ($350.00 each)

4. Four “Zegna” pullovers. Estimated value = $1,500.00 ($375.00 each).

5. Five to seven “Polo” shirts. Estimated value = $450.00 to $630.00 ($90.00 each)

Long-distance move from Virginia to Tennessee

Global Express Vanlines.

I recently did a relocation with global express vanlines. My relocation was from Alexandria VA to Nashville TN.They called me after I entered my info online. The representive's name was John. Such a great guy very personable person.Further more the price for the total move was $3237 based on my weight of 7500lbs. He told me if I weight less I pay less if I weigh more I pay more very simple. It was all based on my cents per lb. He also told me up front of any additional charge which I really liked, he didn't beat around the bush he told me everything I needed to know. He asked if I had anything glass that would be going. I replied yes 3 Tvs and glass table. He told me that when I get my order that I will be able to see where he added anything additional. He also stated that the contract im looking at now will be the same exact contract, when im required to give my signiture. He was absolutley right. Everything with this company is in black and white and very easy to see. I like that there are no hidden charges and the move happens just like the person said. John told me before my move was going to be a total of 7238 but lets round up at 7500lbs to be safe. He said if you don't weight in you don't pay for it. He said the price was a binding price at .45 cents per lb. I liked that I knew even if I go over I know how much I owe. Long story short the movers arived at my house at 10:30 AM they said they would be there 9-12am. That was fine with me cause I needed a little extra time to pack anways so it all worked out. When the guys came to our house they reviewed the inventoery to make sure had all the items on the list, after everything was counted they went ahead and started to disemble the items I listed. They then wraped up everything. Put the items in the truck and set them up for delivery. The gentlment were very polite and curtious to my needs. They said the items will be there in 3-10 days just like John told me on the phone. They picked up on monday and deliverd on tuesday. The same movers arived and the same truck, just a bit fuller this time because they had to pick up another load. When the movers got there they greeted me and then started to unload the items. The driver then told me my total would be $2987. I had a huge smile on my face I ended up paying almost 300 dollars less then what we were estimated at. After everything was deliverd I gave each person $40 dollar tip for there exellent service. The guys looked very tired afterwards though. So I ended up buying a few pizzas for there hard work. Looks like they enjoyed that food more then the money lol. All in all I was very pleased with the company. I would use them again in a heart beat. I would highly recomend this company! When you call in be sure to ask for John. A great guy and will tell you excatly how it is!. When you call in ask for John,he will provide great service and he's quite the comedian. If your to chose a mover make sure its Global Express Vanlines. Thanks again to John and Global Express for giving me a great move.

Long-distance move from California to Colorado

A Family History Lost Forever.

After my dad received news that he had about six months to live due to cancer, he and my mom moved to Denver for health-releated treatments. They asked me to move with them so that I could take care of him at the end of his life. This company kept the boxes that included our family's Christmas decorations, many which were my grandparents' when my dad was a child. The rest we had collected through the years, most of them homemade by me when I was a child and by my kids. My dad spent his last Christmas without these happy memories and I can't tell you how sad he was. Sad? No, he was heartbroken. No matter how many times I called Global, or how I tried to appeal to them, they were rude, dismissive, and eventually abusive. NEVER USE GLOBAL!!

Long-distance move from Maryland to New York

Poor service.

The movers were scheduled for a weekday morning.  However, they never showed up and I had trouble getting a response on where they were.  I was finally told that the truck had broken down, they did not have another truck, and they would come the next day.  This information wasn't given until after my whole time window had passed.  No one had gotten in touch with me, I had to call to find this out. This was an out-of-state move, and waiting until the next day was not an option.  I was forced to pay someone to be at my apartment for the movers to pick up my things that weekend. The salesperson had promised to be available to me through the whole process.  When I had this problem, he basically told me that he had yelled at the dispatch staff, but didn't actually apologize for the inconvenience.  Someone else helped me reschedule the pickup, and he was the one polite and helpful person I talked to through the whole process. For for the re-scheduled pickup, they did show up and my things were loaded and driven up to me that same day.  My move price was based on weight, and they were supposed to provide me with the total weight so I would know the remaining balance due.  However, when the driver called with a delivery time estimate, he would not give me that information even when I asked.  I could not reach anyone in the office or dispatch, despite all the recorded messages saying they had Saturday office hours.  I did finally reach the sales person, who promised to check on things and get back to me as soon as possible.  I never heard back from him. When the movers arrived with my things, the weight made the charge $700 more than my original quote.  As the quote was based on weight, I understand it being higher, but that seemed excessive. I called on that Monday to talk to someone about all the problems I had and filed a complaint with them.  That was 2 weeks ago, and I haven't heard anything back.  However, the company dispatch did call me two days ago to ask if they could deliver my things on May 1.  My items were picked up--and delivered--on April 14. The bottom line is that my things were delivered, and were not damaged.  But I felt the company was unorganized and really unresponsive.  I would not recommend them to anyone.

Long-distance move from Florida to North Carolina

Global Express is not truthful.

Pick-up was late. When they finally arrived, the movers attempted to charge me more than the agreed price for packing materials.  I tried calling my contact, Josh, who promised to be "my personal representative through the entire process."  Never heard from him again after I paid the deposit. I did not pay more, so then the head mover ask that I tip his team of men. When the truck was finally loaded, they told me I had more "stuff" than the agreement and I owed $550.
When items were delivered, they were very fast and left everything asking me to sign here, here and here and were gone.  They broke a nightstand, badly scratched a table and badly scratched the side boards of my bed.  I placed a claim within 15 days and was told too bad.  All of these complaints should have been pointed out prior to the movers leaving.  As if I had time to inspect everything before they left.  I should have made time, I now know.
If at all possible, do not use Global Express - - - EVER!

Do Not Use This Company.

What a bad experience.  Piclup was late.  Josh gave us a "NOT TO EXCEED QUOTE"  We explained that we did not want to haggle after our items were loaded.  The Russians that came told us it mean not to exceed weight.  This is not what we were told by Josh, who I might add did not bother to return calls after they got the order.  So, after loading the truck, they tried to shake us down for $2,000 being told that any over weight would be 40 cents per pound.  It ended up costing us $1,000 extra at that point.  Then they put the items in their warehouse for 30 days free of charge to be delivered at two places an hour apart.  It was a struggle and many calls to arrange deliver.  Driver was late.  Items were broken, furniture scratched shrink wrapped ripped off of my $800.00 mattress which was filthy. The bill of lading was a complete joke.  Nothing was numbered at all on it. So there is no way to tell what is missing although we do know there is an $800.00 classic collector surf board and a cooler missing!  Funny they told us twice those items were there because the mover had to come back because they forgot them! Then there were the additional deliver charges of $500.00.  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.  We are in the process of filing a complaint with the state of Florida DOT.  This company is not on the up and up.  They take the job and farm it out to Russians!! Who ulitimately shake you down for more money.  There are too many moving companies out there..go to an honest one and it's certainly not Global!    .

Long-distance move from Florida to Illinois

Full circle of stress.

Moved from FL to IL. Global made it very stressful for me. Where do I start? The salesman was hard to reach. That should have been my first clue to run.  I requested may 15th move day with 16th as the backup. They called a day before saying it would be the 16th, which was fine. Then I get a call the eve of the 15th saying they will be there that night Btwn 7 & 8 pm. Despite my pleas for them not to come until the next day, the truck showed up at 8:45pm & stayed until midnight.  It was a small truck, so they explained that my stuff would be repacked onto the big truck later.  Oh great! More chances for it to get dropped and damaged.  The contract does state they charge for packing materials, but since all my stuff was packed, I didn't think it would apply to me.  I was told they would wrap furniture, but it wasn't explained that I would be charged for tape and also a labor fee for the time it takes them to tape and wraps items. They also found an excuse to crack out a few boxes and charge me for those too.  It ended up being $250 additional!  Now the real fun starts. I get a call the day before delivery saying global lost my check because somebody's purse was stolen.  Global wanted the entire amount in cash on delivery.  They agreed to pay the stop payment fee but when I logged into my account, my check had already cleared!   I tried calling them back and also tried to reach my salesman and couldn't get anyone on the line.  They finally called me and agreed that my check wasn't included in the ones "Stolen". I asked him to please make sure the driver knew my check wasn't lost so I wouldn't have any problems with delivery and he said he already informed the driver.  About an hour later the driver called and said my amount due had gone up.  Nobody told him!  It was finally worked out and my stuff was delivered. A day late. Because the job ahead of mine had 5x more furniture than they listed and it took more time. (that's what they told me).  In the end, my furniture was picked up and delivered.  There were a few scraps and dings on some items, but I guess that's to be expected.  I didn't like how stressful global made this for me, changing the pickup time twice and coming so late in the evening telling me I didn't have a choice because they had other jobs.  I expected to be charged for actual weight, but the additional labor charges I wasn't expecting but felt what could I do now, I needed to get moved & they know it. They know at that point you are stuck.  The whole story about losing my check brought this experience full circle & seemed made up and then delivery was also a day late.  Never again!

Long-distance move from Maryland to North Carolina

Never Showed up.

We chose (unwisely) to use global express moving.  We paid the deposit via our credit card.  We were promised our own truck (moving a 5 bedroom house, seems it would be obvious to have our own truck) and were promised next day delivery.  About 1 week after scheduling our  move we received an email from an employee of global telling us to cnacel our move and get our deposit back because the company is a huge scam and is going to take us for all of our money.  We called Global Express to cancel and they said it was a disgrunteled employee and was just trying to ruin their business.  So, we trusted (bad move) the company and stayed on course.  Come moving day they NEVER showed up.  We called and called and called.  THe sales person pretended he had no signal when he picked up the phone and kept hanging up on us.  We finally got in touch with his manager who looked at their computer system and apparently we didn't have our own truck and our delivery date was never scheduled like we were told.  They were going to hold our stuff in their warehouse until they had another trip to NC come up.  So the manager offered us a refund on our deposit and we accepted and found another mover.  We got an email from the manager stating we would receive the refund.  Just to be safe we submitted a dispute to our credit card company.  It is now almost 12 weeks later and I am still disputing the charge.  Luckily, my credit card company is going to handle it from here on out.  THEY ARE A SCAM!  DO NOT USE THEM. PLEASE STAY FAR FAR AWAY from this company. .

Long-distance move from Maryland to California

Ripp-off movers.

I have read all these bad reviews about Global Express Van Lines before deciding a mover and still decided to go with this unprofessional moving company and here I am adding one more bad review. They will sound unbelievably cheaper (the trap I fell for), but the truth is that they will cost you about 2.5 times than their original quotes. And the "free one month storage" is a tricky false promise. Here are the highlights of my interstate move experience with them:

1) They quoted $2200 for the entire move. But after my items are moved from my residence, the delivery agent called me and told me it is going to cost me $4300 because my items are exceeded the allowed weight. I doubted this strategy in advance before booking them and checked with the sales agent whether they are going to charge me for overweight if any; and his exact comment was "it’s never going to happen unless you are moving an elephant".

2) Their movers came to my home at 9pm in the night in a budget truck and left my home at 2am in the morning. The original scheduled time was between 3pm and 5pm. The sales manager was telling me they have their own truck and the crew will come wearing their uniform, another lie.

3) They don't have their own crew or trucks (at least that is what I have observed). They picked the items in a budget truck, and delivered in the destination in another rented truck. I did check with the delivery driver and he said he is not an employee of global. No one takes responsibility and simply points finger at each other.

4)  Their professional packing service is a jock (after charring $600). The crew ran out of packing materials and made temporary packing boxes and packed my expensive kitchen items with these unsafe boxes. I have even given them few spare boxes I had from my previous move.

5) They packed my electronic items along with heavy furniture accessories. Is that called professional packing ? They packed my dining table and computer table as is (without dismantling) obviously the truck space quickly got filled and they complained I have too much furniture and they left my expensive sofa and expensive book shelf in my apartment. The only furniture they transported was a dining table and 6 chairs, a small sofa, a king size bed (with flat frame) and a computer table.

6) They promised 1 month free storage and reached my destination on 19th day and said they won't provide free storage any more. I have to rent a public storage and rent a local mover to move my items from the local storage to my place.

7) Every staff (Including the owner) was non-cooperative.

8) The sales representative who trapped me into this deal disappeared in thin air and was never accessible to me since the order was placed.(well I could contact him 2 times totally after about 20-30 attempts)

9) The crew even opened my fridge and ate chocolates from the fridge. Seeing this I have ordered pizza and gave it to them. Well, this did not bother me, but worth mentioning here to show their professionalism.

Bottom line: Your moving experience = 2.5 times (or more) than their original Quote lots of stress high risk of damaging your expensive items. I would recommend to go with other well reviewed moving companies even if they cost you 2 times more than Global Express Van Lines original quote. At the minimum you will have piece of mind.

I am not new to interstate moving. I have used different movers, just that these guys quoted cheap and I fell in that trap. Hope this review helps someone from all the troubles I had gone through.

Long-distance move from Florida to Missouri

They never came!

In April 2012 I decided to book with this company given that they had an A rating with the BBB and the reviews I found about them online were typically positive.  I don't know what has happened since, but they apparently have gone downhill.  This past Sunday (the 29th of July), they were scheduled to pick up my items for my 1 bedroom apt and deliver them to Kansas City, MO.  At 12:30 pm on the 29th, I received an email from Brian (who is the VP for customer service) saying that a problem occurred with one of the trucks and because they couldn't fulfill their obligation, they cancelled my move.  This happened the DAY OF THE MOVE and I was notified by this via an EMAIL that was poorly written. In the email, I was told that I would get my deposit back, however when I contacted my credit card company, they said they had not heard anything from GEVL.  I called up Brian on the 29th as well as Darren (who was my customer service rep) and left them messages.  It is now the 31st and I have not heard anything from the company.  I have already filed my complaint with the BBB and my credit card company is issuing me a conditional credit and they will follow-up with GEVL.  I strongly urge anyone considering going with this company to think again..For those of you who have already booked with them, BEWARE and consider getting a new company even if it means losing out on your deposit!

Global Express Van Lines: Beware.

The company kept raising the price in increments, and threatened to impound our furniture unless we agreed to their terms. I was first quoted $1,400 -- and expected some increase, but they charged $350 for boxes and tape, etc. Additional tranfer fees, originiation fees, etc drove the bill up to $3,600 -- and they wound up dumping our furnituere on the street about two blocks from our house. I would strongly advise against getting involved with this outift.  .

I hope you like carrying boxes!

Global express van lines was prompt to call me to give me a quote and spend almost an hour talking to my wife and trying to convince her to pay the deposit as soon as possible. After a little while, we paid the deposit and I was told that they would pick everything up on march 26 and that they would take no more than 14 days to deliver the items, but that normally they would take 10 days.
On march 26th they said that they would come at 2 pm so I left work early and waited for them. Of course, they ended up arriving at 6:30 pm and by almost 9:30 pm they were done. Again, they told me that they would deliver on April 7th and of course, they did not deliver on time. They didn't even call me to tell me that they were planning to deliver on the 12th of april until I called them to ask. At that point I had to stick to them, so I waited until the 12th. On the 12th the truck arrived early, but by the time I talked to the driver I realized that there was only one guy from the company (the driver). I asked the driver for the rest of the team and he told me that they were on their way. The driver also told me that they never told him that the apartment was located on the 3rd floor and that I had to pay an extra $75. I talked to the guy and told him that I gave all the information to global express and that they should have told him that it was on the third floor. After talking to the guy, he told me that if I helped him unload the truck he would not charge me the extra $75. I just couldn't believe it! Wasn't I offered a full door to door moving service? After about an hour, I realized that nobody else was coming and that in order to avoid another fee, I had to help the driver, plus I had to go to work and there were big things like beds and mattresses that needed at least two persons to be able to do the job.
At the same time, my wife was trying to contact the company and after talking to them they said that the owner would call us personally to apologize for the "Logistics disaster", but of course. It never happened.
Another thing that I forgot to say is that they wouldn't start unloading the truck until you paid the full balance in the form of cash or money order only.
Good luck with these guys! Don't believe anything that they say. Also, don't believe in their BBB score, is just a big lie!

Long-distance move from Maryland to Texas

Beware They Are Thieves!!

The overall experience of the move was HORRIBLE! I had initial contact with Darren the sales person who called me several times and assured me that is company was outstanding and always put the customer first. I had checked their BBB rating and all seemed well and could only find 1 review that happened to be 5 stars, so I decided to give them a try. I was told that my pick up date would be April 2-3 but the movers didn't come until April 4. When they arrived it was 3 guys who, might I add smelled horrible, nonetheless they came and started to repackage some of my items and places items into  a wardrobe box. They charged me for 4 rolls of tape stating that they used at least one roll  on each of my televisions..one 19' and the other 42' in which they didn't, They charged me for 2 people to cover the televisions when in all actuality only one person wrapped both televisions. As the movers were leaving, one guy Nik asked me for a tip and apparently the money I was going to give him wasn't enough so he told me no that's ok he doesn't want it. How rude and unprofessional, who asks for a tip??  Fast forward to the day of delivery..There was only 1 guy that showed up to move all of my items to a 3rd floor apt. It took him 6 hours!! Upon delivery, I noticed that among things missing was my WII game system that was in excellent condition, my motion sensor remotes and nun-chucks. Of course, I called the office to complain but they were closed but I made sure to document the missing items on the receipts. I also filed a police report that same day. On Monday morning, I called the company to complain and was put in contact with Max. Max informed me that my items were miraculously found in their warehouse and would be shipped to me soon. I found this to be quite strange. Out of everything that was package in a bag that was taped around the top, the Wii game system was the only thing that jumped out of the bag.  But this is the big kicker! They stole my game system and then tried to go on eBay and buy me another Wii game system in horrible condition and tried to give it to me. Now if you found MY game system in your warehouse why would they need to go on eBay and purchase another one Bottom line: This company is extremely dishonest. I have called Darren several times and have left recorded voice mails and all to no avail. They claim to have their own trucks and to not broker out your move; however the guy who delivered my items said he did not work for the company and had a different boss Their BBB rating is not believable and I have filed complaints with the BBB and am thinking about suing them At this point I really don't believe any of the favorable reviews this company has received, they probably wrote them themselves On their website they claim to give you free boxes yet when they arrive at your home they charge you for them and threaten to not move any of your items if you don't pay Darren promised to reimburse me for the overages and to refund me monies because they arrived late and now he wont return my phone calls EVERYONE PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU VALUE YOUR ITEMS!

Move the things yourself.

There are plenty of long reviews on here stating why you should not use them. Mine is just the same but I'll make it short. The movers this company uses are completely shady. They  will construct their own weight and volume charges once your stuff is in the truck. They will charge you whatever they want and then coerce you for a tip after they load your stuff.
Once my stuff got here, I was missing a chair and boxes with glassware. I imagind they were crushed and they just threw it out.
Avoid this and ANY moving company, do it yourself. .

Delivery.

After a terrible experience with these bottom dwellers and compliants filed with the d.o.t. and my us congressman that asked for an investigation of this company they are now hiding any way possible.  They answer their phones with a recording for the sales office.  the D.O.T. has fined them a significant amount for their practices with me.  If you are doing business with them be prepared.  Get the registration number on the truck when your goods are delivered along with the license plate numnber.  You will probably need this to trace the actual company that delivered you goods.  Take pictures of you goods as their are unloaded.  You have nine months to submit your claim. Their location in Miami does not answere their phones and I couldn't find them thru directory information.  I guess Alex, the owner, and Max, his chief swindler, will continue to jump from rock to rock so they can lie and cheat everyone they can.  Report all of you complaints to the U.S. D.O.T. and all better business bureaus in your area and don't be afraid to call your congressman to ask for their help with an investigation.  My congressman was fantastic.  An invesgtigator with the D.O.T. told me last year they did a sting on movers like this and they closed about 75 of them down.  The more complaints filed the better chance we all have to drive this kind of parasiter out of business.  be ware of one of their salesman called Darin.  he will say anything to get your business and talking to Brian is a huge waster of time. good luck!

Beware.

Pick-up was OK except they left cigarette butts in the street in front of my house along with bubble gum and, from start to finish, the packing took 12 hours. The drop-off did not go well with the un-packers claiming that they based their estimate on cubic feet instead of 24,571 pounds which resulted in them earning less then $10 per hour instead of the $15 per hour they normally collect. I felt bad for the un-packers and, when I gave them an extra $200, the driver and his son were upset that the un-packers didn't share the money with them.  A number of items such as shelves were left unassembled. Although I asked the driver several times for the actual weight as the truck was moving accross country, he said that information wasn't handy and at drop-off he said that I had paid for a full truck which was not the case because I paid for an estimated 24,571 pounds and the final dollar amount was to be adjusted plus or minus. After numerous calls to global over the past 2 months, the actual wait of the load has not been provided. I would say that the company is in a state chaos and would look else ware for your moving needs. .

Long-distance move from Florida to Maryland

Do NOT move with Global Express.

I contacted Global Express because I had to do a last minute move. Throughout the entire process, they were difficult to get a hold of when needed, and did not provide accurate information regarding the move and subsequent prices. When the movers came to my home (3 hours late) to move my things, they tacked an extra 250 dollars onto the cost of the move, then told me they would remove 100 dollars if we "took care of them" before we left (because we didnt' have much recourse at that point, we tipped them the difference and hoped for the best). When my things were finally brought to Baltimore, (my move destination), another 75 dollars was tacked on in last minute fees. But, I haven't even gotten to the worst part of Global Express. They LOST several boxes as well as my office desk chair. After calling repeatedly every day for a week, the woman on the phone told me she would contact the warehouse manager, who would give me a call. Of course this did not happen, and after hounding them for a few more days, I was finally able to get in touch with the warehouse who told me simply "the stuff is gone" and to file a claim. I was given ZERO help, and LESS THAN ZERO hope that I would ever see my things (or money for my things) again. I am currently in the claims filing process with them. If you have to do a last minute move like I did, you may be tempted to go with GEV because they are available-DO NOT MOVE WITH THEM. You will have nothing but aggravation. .

Long-distance move from Maryland to South Carolina

Global Express Van Lines.

BBB rating was A. Slipped to B . Was discussed with Allan and assured problems were corrected. Went to C. At the time of this review, an F.
Estimate price was less than $2200. End cost was over $4900. We expected price to increase due to packaging and weight difference. Price would have been acceptable had we received the service we were promised.
Did good job packing and loading initial truck in MD.
Off loaded and loaded at least once.
Used 2 people found on the Internet (per driver) to unload truck. Appearance/dress disheveled and dirty. The larger of the 2 did not show any incentive and let the others do most of the work.
Damaged curio cabinet, inlaid table, dining table, stained glass lamp shades. Broken collectibles.
Many items missing/stolen including kitchenware, lamp top, top half of antique dresser including mirror, and other boxes.
"Movers" refused to take items up one flight of stairs until co-ereced. We paid to have desk taken upstairs.
Never received final weight from Global. We refused to sign receipt due to the damage, etc. Driver left without leaving a copy of bill of laden.
Claims process is laughable. We called the claims center and found they were 3rd party and wanted info off the receipt the driver was supposed to leave.
Filed complaint with Better Business Bureau. 0n August 6th. No response from Global (Aug. 22, 2012).

Long-distance move from Florida to Oregon

Global Express.

Total moving estimate: $10,350.  Actual cost: $16,709.  Numerous items were damaged during the move.  We requested delivery for July 21; they made delivery on July 28.  Granted, the move was across the USA, but one week later than requested.  This cost me extra expenses for lodging, etc.  The salesman could not help us much once the sale was made.  All the movers, about nine different people, insisted we pay them all large tips. We paid over $400 in tips.

Long-distance move from Virginia to Tennessee

Lying, unproffesional, exstortionist.

I needed a moving company to move my parents and myself from Virginia to Tennessee. Easy right? Wrong! The salesman was so nice to my father, low-balled the bid and then did not explain that it was an estimate. The movers came the right day but were late. They were ill prepared for the packing, moving and their inventory list came nowhere near what the agreed contract stated. A Penske truck showed up in my driveway with one driver and two movers. One mover brought beer to work with him. They did not finish the first day so they had to return the next. Late again! Ill prepared and sloppy. They left so much stuff throughout my house that I had to run behind them, pack items or throw the stuff in my car or else it would have been left behind. The movers were contracted out by global express van lines and the company was called simplicity moving and storage, worst customer service, worst follow up and voice mails always full. I am in Tennessee still waiting for my stuff (9-11-12). The truck left my home in Virginia 8-30-12. My mother blood pressure medicine accidentally got packed so I have begged, pleaded, threatened and asked for the truck to be delivered to us for her medicine. Nothing from them. Don't answer their e-mails, don't answer the phone and when the phone goes to voice mail, it is too full to take any more messages! Really! My mother still does not have her meds, the doctor visits aren't cheap and still no idea of simplicity moving and storage (contracted by global express van lines) when any delivery will take place. Will be seeking legal assistance for this one! They are rude, greedy, will not communicate with me at all, poor quality work and more than likely all our stuff will be broken or stolen! Do not use this company for any reason! They lie and rip you off, but they are soo nice in the beginning!

Long-distance move from Virginia to Washington

Cost, damages, price changes date changes.

My son is in the military and needed to move his and his wives small/one room belongings from VA to WA where he was to be for his first PCS. Movers arriveda day late and came near midnight for pickup. One $50 item stolen and damage to a sofa. Claims were made. The company deducted the $50 but they refused to pay for sofa damage of $72 that the Claims company said they owed them.To this day they never paid! The price went up by the time the delivery was made plus the driver refused to deliver to their door because "of location and difficulty getting his truck out so he was going to charge them extra $350 so he could rent a smaller truck to deliver their things "down the street". They did not have the money so my son found some men in his new unit and they used his pickup to unload their items, drive down the street and then they had to unload the items themselves! The driver did not assist. When they put in the claim for the damaged sofa they were informed that "their belongings were to sveral trucks before delivery so they did not know how/when damage was done"! We spent months trying to work it out with the company, spoke with several people and eventually they stopped answering their phone when our phone number came up on caller ID! We know this because we would call right back from a new number they did not recognize. Please do not use this company for any services! Plus the claim company that you go through when filing a claim does not stand behind their services either. Their response was "we can't make them pay"!

Global vanlines scam!

Global van-lines are absolutely horrible. Do not believe anything they say. I was quoted one estimate and a day before my date they changed it over a thousand dollars knowingly that I wouldn't receive my deposit back. Waited two days and no show. They will charge you for cubic feet for space you don't use. I would rather load my [EDIT] on a camel and ride it before hiring this company! I promise you will regret it.

Long-distance move from Florida to Texas

Moving company.

Global express van lines moved my house hold goods from florida to texas, what a disaster.  I suggest no one use this com[pany.  they hide after the fact and ignore your clains, any you will have them.  I took pictures of my goods when they arrived.  my 52 inch samsung sreeen looked like a bowling ball had been thrown at it.  I have a 140 gallon aquarium that wasn't wrapped or protected in any way and it got chipped on the edge and can no lomger be used.  almost evert piece of furniture has been scratched along with 4 pictures broken that were not wrapped or protected.  the custom aquarium stand has so many scratches it will have to be refinished and there were two of the three hinges on the top that wew sprung.  six of eight plates were broken.  I bought boxes from u haul to pack by belongings and when they cane some of the sides were busted from being thrown or stacked incorrectly.  when the van arrived for delivery it was a full size moving van and my goods were the items in the truck.  they were scattered through out the truck not tied or secured to anything.  my mattress was to be put in a carton as is required by law but it was standing on it's side in the side door.  my rep was darren and boy you better watch out for him.  I asked him if global owned it's own trucks and he assured me they did and my goods would arrine in one of them.  LIE!  my price went from $1,899 to $4,414.  he said my weight went from 4269 lbs to 9600 lbs.  I was charged for 40 rolls of tape.  if each roll was only 100 feet that's 4000 feet,  I moved a one beedrom home. I was to get the weight ticket to show the difference but of course I never got it.  the company that delivered my goods told me I either could pay the difference or  they would take my belongs back.  that was R&l moving out of houston, tx.  I have reported global express  to the better business bureaus in both maryland and florida along with D.O.T. in both states.  I will be suing them after the claims come back from the mediators and that will only add to their final cost.  I spoke with alex, the owner, and all he could say was he would have alex, in mami, call me.  thta's right.  no call as of today.  take pictures of every thing you can if you deal with these people.  I post again when the law suit gets going.  it seems that is the olny thinbg are going to understand.  my suit may go into trebble damanges so it is going to get intresting.  thwy recently with the name A&h holdings dba global express.  I guess they want to hide as much as possible.          .
