Long-distance move from Phoenix, AZ to South Bend, IN

From Phoenix to South Bend relocation terrible experience

BUYER BEWARE! Would not want to hurt anyone's livelihood, but this business and its associates should not be operating in any community. Gross misrepresentation, inconsiderate handling of goods, with many broken, missing/stolen items. No followup, insurance reimbursement offer less than 200.00 and no efforts made to retreive missing/stolen goods. Also, do not respect women....note any good references are from males (that should tell you something).

Long-distance move from Salem, OR to Elgin, TX

Rude, over priced, and not helpful

En-Route: DOT # 3584839 MC # 1212195. All State Moving: DOT # 3657340 MC # 1262987. TL:DR at bottom.

When you first get them on the phone they are so helpful, but the day you move and from then on it is like pulling teeth to get anyone on the phone. Dec 28th they were to come and get my one bedroom apartment. I was told they would be there from 9am-12pm. 12:20 and no movers... I call around and finally my dad and I are able to get a guy. Now it is 4-6pm due to ice. Ok, no problem I get it. 6pm no movers... I finally get a call after calling around again and now it is 9pm. 8:50pm I get told it will be 10pm. They got there at 10:15pm. They were people they hired online... and the price went from $1,020 at pick up and delivery to $1,482! AND the guy there wanted 70% upfront. I was told and signed for 50-50!

When I explained how this was unprofessional he looked at me and said "I don't need this sh*t, I don't even want to be here! You are calling my boss bothering him and he gets mad at me! I should be home!" I told him I wanted to talk to his boss again, he said no. My dad was able to get someone on the phone who told him and me that I pay or they leave. I needed to be on the road the next morning for my new job and they knew they had me. So I paid and asked for a copy of the NEW documents they made me sign, I saw this was All State Moving. (That I then had to fight again to get a copy emailed to me because they didn't have a copy to give me then).

When I got my stuff I saw broken boxes, items, and that they shoved my stuff up against other peoples stuff. All that was keeping items apart was a tie-down and color stickers to show what house the items belonged to. The guys who dropped it off told them they were from online as well and they thought the company was shady. It was hard for them to get copied of documents and not just an email of "this goes to this house". Inside the truck was broken china someone didn't want back and these moves had to have me come into the truck and help point out what was mine. I did not blame them. I feel like I am still missing a box but the labeling was so bad on the paperwork I am not sure.

TL:DR - They will take your money, toss your stuff around, let it touch other peoples stuff, no helpful once they have you, and they will wait until the last minute to come and get your stuff so they have you against a wall.

These guys don't mess around

I’m glad that I picked En-route relocation, I recently just had my first state-to-state move and the service I received was amazing and I just couldn't sit by and not give them the 5 star review they deserved! their sales rep was very helpful and the company was ready to cater toward any questions or concerns I had, They also arrived early and ready to work the moment they arrived! This was my first time working with a moving company, and they made me feel like I was in really good hands. You most likely wont find a company with as great of prices, as well as customer support!

Long-distance move from Loves Park, IL to Orlando, FL

Ran off with my STUFF!!!!!

I went through this moving company with expectations of satisfaction and promises of my belongings being handled and returned with care and the way I sent them. All I have received was unfulfilled promises of my things being returned and they have not. I get no answers. I have no idea where my belongings are. They won’t tell me. I mean I had my whole life in there from BCs, SSc to furniture clothes shoes etc; it’s just missing. Nothing this company has promised me has happened. Instead I’m left without anything and having to start all over. Thanks for making my first relocation experience and my first months in my new home and new state so welcoming En-Route. You guys should really do the right thing and explain the fact that you broker out the jobs cause then the proper research could have been done because you are the ones responsible for who you hire. Your customers trust you. I ad a paying customer trusted you with my life. Now you ignore the issue and give me the run around. There’s nothing positive coming your way if this is the way you conduct business. This is all of MY ITEMS I WORKED HARD FOR! MY THINGS!!! RETURN MY BELONGINGS!!!!! ITS BEEN OVER 30 days!!!

Long-distance move from Two Harbors, MN to Caribou, ME

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

This company is horrible. At first they were as lovely as can be. They stated their credentials, how they were the best in the business. We told them we had to move our townhouse and my dad's home. We got rid of a lot of stuff, so we figured it was about a 1 large 3 bedroom home move, spread across two places. They gave us a quote of $11,000. We paid the initial deposit, then they called back closer to the time, demanded another $2,000, and bumping up the price to $16,000. We weren't happy, but time was of the essence because we had booked my father on a flight to arrive in Maine the following Saturday, and my family would drive out. The company said the truck would most likely arrive the morning after we got there. As the week of the move approached, we received no update phone calls or emails. We had to chase them. Expecting them Saturday morning, we called them and were told the truck broke down states away and couldn't get fixed. Maybe tomorrow they'd be there. We explained we HAD to stick to the schedule, since my dad was arriving in Maine, and in addition, he is a dialysis patient and needs to be treated every other day. After all, this move was now quoted as over $15,000. Sunday came. No truck. My husband was literally begging the dispatcher for a truck. We had to get going. We were told there was nothing they could do. My husband said that wasn't good enough. Finally they promised us they'd get a truck to us on Monday (remember we were to leave Saturday). But, they said by getting a truck up there at that time, we would have to wait up to 30 days for our truck to be delivered to our destination. What? They NEVER told us that previously. Now they were saying they'd have to pick up additional orders, and wouldn't know when our things would be delivered. We packed for the week of traveling to Maine by our vehicles, not for a month's wait for our stuff! Monday afternoon comes, and 3 unprofessional looking young men shuffled into the house from a Budget rental truck, taking photos. Making my husband wait, they sent the photos to their boss in Florida, who called a half hour later and stated we would have to pay an ADDITIONAL almost $5,000 to the already $16,000 quote! My husband said: "Absolutely not, no way," where the guy on the phone said: "You'll never find anyone cheaper." They knew we were in a bind with the time constraints, but we refused to be taken advantage of, which we totally feel we were. But their strong arm tactics didn't work. They then said they were keeping our over $5,000 deposit, which we immediately went to the bank and put a dispute on it. They breached their contract by not showing up on time and demanding more money on the spot! Meanwhile, we had to rearrange my father's care, his dialysis, his flight, and we ended up renting our own 26' truck and 2 professional laborers to help us move. For the life of me, l cannot give any good qualities to this company. They have caused us so much stress, anxiety, and unnecessary problems because they were so greedy and unprofessional. Whatever price they quote you will end up being nowhere near what you're expecting to pay, and they are banking on you being in a precarious and desperate situation so you'll cave in and agree to it. In the end, our alternative plans cost us almost 4x LESS!!! If l could have left no stars, l would have!

Spend a little more and get a verified company

This company will hire a random company to come and move your personal belongings. Once they get your deposit it will be impossible to speak with a representative. Bianca (this is probably not her real name) was terrible at communicating the course of events often citing personal issues and problems as a reason for never returning phone calls.

They don’t verify who’s coming to move your things, nor will they confirm and verify the inventory. Because of this you will inevitably be charged more money.

The communication is absolutely terrible. This is a complete SCAM SERVICE I truly wish I would have followed my instincts and went with someone else. I’m not sure if they pay for the 5 star reviews but this is not a five star service. I will definitely be reporting this service to the BBB.

BEWARE, WORST EVER EXPERIENCE - DON'T EVER MAKE THE MISTAKE OF OPTING

Quick Points/ WARNING -

1. Unprofessional Service – Rude, unfriendly, unreachable, non-communicative staff. They'll talk sweetly during the first call and after you pay you'll be eventually left on the street to further fall into a deep pit!

2.They just work with ANY other 3rd Party service that they find at the time of order and assign the same to customers. NO due diligence is done, and NO responsibility is taken later.

3. All parties involved (including the 3rd parties) will loot the customer since they don't communicate with each other. This is nothing but a money looting service and customers will not have ANY option but to just pay or lose their valuables. Be ready to pay $1000 additional at least to the Quote that this company provides to you initially.

4.On-site personnel (who pick-up OR drop-off) - Be ready to get blackmailed by them "TO PAY MORE OR LEAVE IT" to simply put it in their own words!

5. There was ONLY one personnel to drop-off our items (including a 3-seater sofa). So, this means we customers have to pick up our own heavy loads too!

6. Delivery time – Be ready to wait for your items to get shipped to your new home for at least 3-4 weeks once you have sent them off.

7. Items were damaged and missing - contrary to what they sweetly claimed earlier. You won't even get any response after complaining, so BE PREPARED!

8.Misleading and Falsifying information - If you are being told by this company that everything will be smooth, nice, and rosy, then you are living in a dream world. Leave even re-assembly these guys left our items on the street, and you’ll be doomed!

9. Not Done here but Last one to end my review - Company didn't REPLY back to me after sending a long-detailed email with issues address - such is their service!

Broken Promises and Broken Furniture

We hired En Route and paid $7500 to move from Florida to Michigan. They assured us it would go well. This was the absolute worst company. Liars and scammers. Took our money and showed up with one mover dragging and dropping our belongings. Missing valuable items in two crates. So to sum it up… Scammers, Liars and Thieves!

Avoid at all costs!

I am highly disappointed in this company. They badly handled my move from Austin TX to Nashville TN. They subcontracted out with 2 other moving companies, so my things went from storage, into a moving truck, Triple Crown movers, then into another company's moving truck, My American Movers. Triple crown has a 1-star review on Yelp. Some of my boxes are missing and 5 things are broken. No-one returning calls or texts. I also did not receive my moving papers. I've asked for them to be emailed to me but no response. So, I can't file a claim without them. Total rip-off.

Good Work

I have had many a horrible experience with moving, but all my apprehension was for zero with En-Route Relocation. Professional, savvy, careful, and easy. The move was made far faster than anticipated. The guys loaded up the truck swiftly and efficiently. Upon unloading, they helped us put our items away and hauled away the boxes. I would use En-Route Relocation in a blink again without question.

Long-distance move from Southfield, MI to New Orleans, LA

Worst & Costliest Moving Company (-5 stars)

To begin, my original contact, [NAME EDIT], is exempt from my comments below. Indeed, EnRoute and S & M Relocation LLC. is lucky to have him as he is the only person with whom I spoke that has any integrity.

The two organizations made hollow assurances regarding pricing and service. The movers provided were substandard and unprepared, and their employee, [NAME EDIT] is apparently empowered to cheat you under the guise of, "there's more to your move than I thought...". This is a bait and switch moving enterprise with brokers working together to increase the cost of your move while you wait for the moving to begin.

None of the movers either in Michigan or Louisiana professionally introduced themselves via email or phone call. The first leg of my move was delayed 3 hours while [NAME EDIT] and the mover found ways to increase the cost of my move $4500.00 (if the new buyers were flexible, I would have sent them away demanding a refund of my $2400.00 deposit.). Before the move ended at 10:10pm (arrival time, 11:00am), another $2100.00 was added due to the need for packing materials for the extra items the mover kept discovering. Unbelievable.

The final leg of the move was to take place today. I left classes to be here to await the delivery which, according to [NAME EDIT], had to take place today because the driver had been in town since Friday...okay. Why didn't the driver contact me until Sunday? Oh, I know. He tried, right? Garbage.

Save yourself time, money, and aggravation and hire a large, national and reputable mover such as Allied or Van Lines who will honor your business, respect your property, and quote you a fair and reasonable price, upfront.

I Don't Recommend Them

I normally only leave reviews if they are good, as I hate being "that guy" who is a downer. If you are not normally into reading bad reviews, please feel free to skip our this one. I mainly wanted to pass the information along so you have the correct expectations if you do decide to go with this company. I will start by saying I have never done a cross country move, and was definitely way too gullible when dealing with this company. That being said, I felt they acted in bad faith and played on our lack of experience in dealing with cross country movers to pull a fast one on us.

First, they called us and got us on the phone, and without directly lying but using some subtle language, they made it seem like they were going to be handling our move directly, not brokering to another company. Specifically Stephen, one of the owners, said "Our guys will be in your area that week handling another move, so your stuff will get moved quickly."

When the actual movers showed up, they jacked up our quote by almost $3000. Granted, there were a couple of items we mistakenly omitted from our inventory list, but it was definitely not $3000 worth of stuff. They also said the sofa would cost way more than Enroute quoted us, as the space above the sofa in the truck would be "dead space." We had definitely included the sofa on our Enroute quote, so I'm not sure why they quoted us so much lower than the actual moving company, when they knew the sofa would be "dead space". Looking back on it it seemed like they mainly wanted to give us a lower quote so we would be compelled to go with their company and give them their down payment. (Again, I am not experienced with moving and should have done more diligence - I accept that. My point is that it felt like Enroute was acting in bad faith.)

Next, it took us over a month to get our stuff. Stephen, the main guy we spoke with (who is apparently one of the owners) specifically told us it would take 1 1/2 to 2 weeks to get our stuff. Again, I should have done more research on cross country moves and the expectations, but I felt it was pretty dishonest for Stephen to say that it would be that short when it took over a month. When we called Enroute to get their help with getting our stuff faster, Stephen answered the phone, but would transfer us to Brian when he found out it was either me or my wife calling them.

Again, I really just want to emphasize that I am not normally a picky customer, I normally don't leave bad reviews and am only providing this information so you have the correct expectations when using this company.

We tried calling them several times to get their help with our stuff arriving sooner, and we would either get put on hold for long periods of time, transferred around and no one would help us with our problem.

Finally, when our stuff was arriving we were told by the actual moving company that we were going to get charged an extra $1300 for a shuttle service as the 18 wheeler can't easily come into our apartment complex parking lot.

Our contract that we signed from Enroute specifically said for 30 days of free storage in a secured climate control storage facility with free re-delivery to destination. It was specifically listed as a service, and we were not told anything about this service expiring. However, when we tried to take advantage of this service that was specifically listed in our contract that we paid for, we were told we had told them too late and they weren't going to do it. I tried asking them where or if it said there was a deadline on when we needed to request it, and they couldn't give an answer but that it just said it was too late.

Specifically, when I was speaking with Brian, he kept saying rude comments and saying I was wrong, there was nothing I could do about it, etc. I tried asking for at least a partial refund and was left on hold again. Finally at some I ended up hanging up.

Anyways, long story short, I really felt Enroute was acting in bad faith from the very beginning, not honoring their word, and when we tried to get help from them they were continually rude, hung up the phone on us or would just transfer us around without actually helping us.

If you do decide to go with this company, you can probably expect to A) end up paying much more than your quote, and B) Get poor customer service if you try to get help at any point. I hope this helps.

Long-distance move from Portland, OR to Phoenix, AZ

Thieves. Deceased baby’s and whole household is missing.

Like every other low rated review- they’re super nice over the phone when they’re grooming you into choosing them as your mover. They quoted us about $2200 for equivalent to a 2-3 bedroom apartment (which is what we had). They asked for 1/3 of the payment as a deposit over the phone, and that the next payment would be due at pick-up. Essentially, by the time pick-up day arrived, it would have been a 50% deposit completed. We confirmed 3 different times, just to make sure that we had the cash ready for them and they reassured us that this was correct.

Move day comes around, and a truck that says “All State Moving Services” pulls up… This was confusing, because we were expecting En Route? Turns out En Route is just a broker, and they contract random movers to do their dirty work. The All State mover loaded all of our stuff up without talking to my husband. After they’re done loading, they demand 70% of the price up front with an additional $1500 on top of that, and at drop off, we’d still owe them $900. We asked what the additional $1500 was for, and they claimed we took up more space than agreed on. This is not true, because we had to load these same items a few days before in a 12’ uhaul, and didn’t even take up HALF of the space in there. My husband went inside the All State truck to look at what was happening here, and saw that our furniture was stacked on top of other people’s furniture (Which was a shock because they made it seem like it was our own truck over the phone), and that there was just no way you could really tell how much space was actually taken up by OUR items. My husband asked how they even measured, and the mover said “I eyeballed it”. My husband was pissed at this point and said he’s not paying them extra. We demanded they take our items off of the truck, and that we were okay with letting go of our first deposit. The mover refused to take our items off the truck and said to just write the check because “he had to go and doesn’t have time to just stand in our driveway”. He was being very rude and pushy- my husband called their office and a “supervisor” had absolutely nothing to say about this. They told my husband to write the check, and that we’d sort the payment once the items get to our house. My husband gave in, wrote them a check for $2500, and the truck took off. Mind you, this was Dec 20th.

It is now almost February, and we have called BOTH All State AND En Route everyday since they’ve taken off with our belongings. Both companies have blocked mine and my husband’s phone numbers, haven’t returned phone calls, and now we don’t know where our items are. We managed to speak to someone a hand full of times and they either gave us the runaround, or simply hung up on us. Now they’ve just straight up blocked us. It goes straight to voicemail without ringing and nobody calls us back.

We are currently living in an empty house, with no basic living essentials. They stole our money, they stole our items, they stole everything.

Most importantly- I stupidly put my deceased baby’s items on this moving truck, because I could not fit the baby’s boxes or old nursery items into my car while moving across the country. These boxes of items are the last thing I have left of my baby boy, and now they are GONE. I don’t have any of my baby’s items here with me and it’s killing my heart.

I’ve called them, and yelled and screamed and they just hung up on me, then blocked me.

En Route, if you’re reading this… Please. From a broken hearted bereaved mom. Give me at least my baby’s stuff back. My whole life is in that truck and my heart cannot handle not having these items with me anymore.

I have reported them to the BBB, because I am desperate to get these items back.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPNAY!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPNAY OR SERVICE!!! My items have not been delivered to me and they were picked up on 1/7/2022. This company was QUICK to take my company's money, but not to deliver my items. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY FURNITURE OR BELONGINGS. This is hindering my life and my business. I requested special packing material for my mirrors, TVs, and furniture; none of those requests were adhere too. The moving company showed up to my house in a U-Haul, I could have done that and hired movers and it would have been cheaper than this company.

The moving company said they would be at my apartment between 11am to 2pm and they never showed up. They arrived to pick up my items at 7pm. This late arrival caused my apartment to charge me $900 for a moving out late fee since I was not out of my apartment and fully moved by 6pm.

En-Route is NOT professional at all and lack basic communication skills. They stated my items were going to arrive on a day and no truck showed up. Also, No one called either. And en-route is closed on Sundays so no one was there to give me an answer. They have lied to me about arrival dates and continue to push back my arrival date when I was originally quoted 5 to 10 days.

I am filing a police report for my stolen items, and I am reaching out to my attorney to discuss legal actions. YOU ARE HOLDING MY ITEMS HOSTAGE. You are causing me buy unnecessary items because I already own, but they are in a moving truck.

This company lacks any sense of urgency! I have family heirlooms in my move that are priceless. I am very concerned about how my items are handle if I am not around, because they movers already broke a dresser of mine and did not tell or say anything. I looked in the truck and saw the leg broken off.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPNAY AT ALL!

***If you are using their services and have the same issues; make sure you document all calls and communicate with them. I have taken detailed notes on them.***

En-Route Relocation (ERR) Worst company in the moving industry.

ERR promises you all this help and the only thing they do is take your money. Forget the promises they make ERR only does exactly what is in the contract, and you don't get a copy the contract. Steve promised a reputable moving company, no "Enterprise/Ryder" truck. A third party mover showed up with an enterprise truck, no problem for ERR that point is not mentioned in the contract. This third party independent contractor shows up with no paper work (the ERR estimate) no ID's, and no idea they were suppose to be packing my house. Also, they advised me the cost of my move wo

uld (basically) double. No problem for ERR, they did provide an estimate, not close to accurate but it was an estimate. Hind sight, the only moving "estimate" that counts is the one when all is packed into the truck and the cubic feet can be figured. No other "estimate" matters. ERR scammed me for over $3,000 and the credit company will not reverse the charges because ERR did what was in the contract. The contract you didn't get a copy of. So much more I could go into but I think you get the picture.

I must admit, I was a little hesitant hiring a company for my move over the phone. The level of customer service and information I received asuaged all my fears. Rarely am I impressed by promises and swayed by an initial stranger. by the end of my call I felt I had not only hired a great company but also found a friend who would not let me down. Moving day went better than promised and not only were the movers on time, but handled my furniture better than I could have ever imagined. Please do yourself a favor and hire these guys to coordinate your next move. Definetly the cream of the crop!!

Long-distance move from Bellows Falls, VT to McLean, VA

Well Done!

Thank you, En-Route Relocation team, for making our recent move so smooth. They were professional, on time with response/communication, and friendly. They were efficient. We moved from a two-bedroom apartment into a new home. We were concerned about our hardwood floors being scratched or walls accidentally dented. Hence, we decided to hand it over to the professionals. No dents and no scratches. I hope I never move again, but I will never stop recommending these guys for their professionalism.

Use Them Again

Eugene and his crew were very helpful and great. I only knew I was moving out a few days before I moved and didn't have time to pack. When Eugene came, all my stuff was everywhere, and they helped box it and were very careful. They made sure I didn't forget anything and also put some stuff out to throw out. He did an excellent job. Highly recommend it!

Scammers!! Terrible People

We just experienced the worst move ever!!

Enroute gave us a quote 13,000 and said that this price will go up if we have more stuff so I was very careful in giving my exact list of inventory. I ended up giving them a deposit of 5,000. They called a couple days before the truck arrived to go over the list to make any changes needed and we did and somehow our price went up by 2,000 so they made me put another 800 down! He then told me what I would owe when the truck arrived and depending on how much space we actually used will depend on what we would pay when the truck was delivered.

When the movers arrived the guy said that what Enroute told us is not true and that we basically just paid them to find the truck and that the deposit I gave them doesn’t even go towards the move at all!!

The movers then quoted us 17,000 to do our move!! Yes, on top of the “deposit we had just made”!!!!

Enroute and the truck are all in on this together and are just going around scamming people. The truck drivers company was called Cheetah Movers and have very poor ratings and they said when my husband writes the check to put it in the guys name not the company name…. Yeah ok that’s not strange!!

I spoke to Lee who seems to be very nice and said they pride on their reviews…. Yeah I believe they are all FAKE!! Bianca said wow this has never happened before and put me on hold several times and when I was disconnected I called back only to be sent to voicemail and I had requested a call back and never received one. They are not going to help you go somewhere else!!

I will be updating when I actually receive our truck which will most likely be in 30 days! Very disappointing. Shame on the company.
