Do Not Book With Diamond Relocation

Let me start by saying that I have moved across provinces (ON to BC and BC to AB) twice before and in both cases, the other moving companies gave me a specific pick up and delivery dates and kept their word.

This time we were moving from AB to ON. While they have prices on the lower end and fairly good reviews, my experience with Diamond Relocation was bad. They were 4 weeks delayed to deliver, which made us spend extra money on essential items (very tempted to send them a bill to cover those costs).

Not only were they unresponsive when I called for updates (it almost seemed like they were screening my number, otherwise how would you explain picking the phone when I used my partner’s number), but they also kept over promising and under delivering. I had to change the elevator booking over half a dozen times to accommodate their “it’s probably coming on x day”.

There was even an instance where I received a phone call to confirm the delivery time in the morning, only to have someone else call me in the afternoon and say they would send half my stuff in one day and the other half another day. Since I did not want to fully pay and only receive half of my belongings, they pushed the delivery another 4 days, from Saturday to Wednesday (not sure why it would have been so hard to send it next day). And even on the day of delivery, they were 45 min delayed.

Long story short, DO NOT MOVE WITH THEM!

Stress free move

I had a local move in Ontario and decided to hire Diamond Relocation to do the job. Let me just say— Wow! I was impressed. The movers are so fast and efficient. Moving is never fun, but I am so grateful they made it so easy. I’ve moved 3 times within the span of 2 years and had hired 3 different moving companies, and Diamond Relocation by far is my favorite. I will definitely be hiring them again for my future moves!

DOO DOO RELOCATION

Mark is incompetent, gets scared and will block your number or threaten to sue you (? I know) if you message him too much to find out where your belongings are. Moved from ON to AB, probably could have walked my stuff cross country faster. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION, was 7+ days late on delivering our items, boxes were wrecked and mouldy (great warehouse apparently), and more hidden fees than Marks hide and seek skills on his message replies.

Worst Moving Company!!!

Terrible is not even enough to describe our experience with this horrible moving company. Picked up our items from Fredericton, NB on July 27 moving to Edmonton, AB. And until now, our items have not been delivered. And they have the audacity to mock you when you call to follow-up. Do not believe the 5-star reviews, they pop-up whenever a set of negative reviews come in. Stay away from this company!

Good Job

They were prompt, and the scheduling was very accommodating and more reasonable than other quotes by far. We have had to move a lot over the last few years and this is the first time it was stress free. They were extremely careful of both our furniture and the houses we moved out of and into. They wrapped all our furniture and mirrors in heavy plastic and moving blankets for protection. These guys were great and well worth the expense. I couldn’t recommend them more!

Superb!

These guys were very professional, showed up promptly, and did an outstanding job. I had a big mirror and mattress and they wrapped it up fast and carefully so that there weren’t any scuffs. They were also very enthusiastic and had a great attitude which I always appreciate. I couldn’t ask for a better moving service or a better team. They knew exactly what they were doing and I will definitely be hiring them for future moving jobs.

Highly recommended!

Diamond Relocation movers was amazing. When I called to get a quote, the person on the phone was much nicer than other moving companies I called and more helpful as well. The movers were also very nice and professional, showed up on time, and were able to move all of my things in very quickly with no issues or accidents. Well done

I recently hired Diamond Relocation to pack up the house I was selling and move everything to my new house. They came the first day with a full crew and had the house packed and prepped to move in 4 hours! The second day they showed up with a full crew again, and had me completely moved in 4 hours. Each employee was super courteous, respectful and careful with my belongings. I would definitely recommend using this company to help you move.

Shadiest movers out there

Shady group that calls and confirms everything the day before and doesn't even show up to the move. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THEM. They are rude, inconsiderate and completely useless. For your best benefit use anyone else. Any review saying they are good, clearly did not actually use their services. The moving industry is already shady and these guys top the chart for sure. Go elsewhere.

Worst moving experience ever

TLDR:

-The salesperson lied to me on numerous occasions.

-They only send movers in pairs which turns s a 3 hour job into a 7 hour one

-I can't recommend.

I was quoted $3500 for a 3 bedroom house at 5000lbs. My 3 bedroom house ended up being 10 200lbs without appliances so if the weight is accurate they quoted me down to get my business which is far from honest. The other shady thing my rep Mark did is to say that my shipment would be shipped from Montreal to Edmonton in 7 days. The dispatcher later told me that it was impossible to meet that deadline. That's not the only lie Mark told me. He said my shipping would leave Toronto on A specific day but I had a tracker in one of the boxes so that was a lie. Another thing about Mark, he was really nice and responsive until my payment went through, after which he couldn't get me off of the phone fast enough and that's when he didn't screen my calls outright. So my shipment was 10 days late. They offered no compensation. Some of my furniture was damaged too. Some of my walls were scuffed. I didn't claim anything as I never want to deal with them again. When the movers arrived, they were only 2, to unload 10200 lbs. So instead of taking things to the rooms where they belonged, they took big pieces and dumped all the boxes in the basement. So when Mark told me I wouldn't have to do anything, that was another lie. Guess who had to bring all of those boxes to their respective rooms. My main takeaways are: Mark just told me what I wanted to hear to get my business, there wasn't enough man power for the jobs needed, you get what you pay for I guess. The only positive thing is the dispatcher Grace. She never lied to me. There's another salesman Steven, the rudest person I've had the displeasure to speak with. So steer clear. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Worst moving Experience Ever

It took them over 23 days to deliver my move, and the sales manager Mark Russo lied to every call and just made excuses. That's because I was told only 7 days to ship my stuff. When they finally arrived they forgot my daughter's mattress in the Ontario warehouse. I asked for a refund for this item but the answer was that the item is not eligible for a refund as it is a "light weight" item and has not reached the limit for deduction. Also, to avoid any more damages and further hassle I decided to ask the movers to leave my stuff in the garage, so my husband and I moved everything into the house. There was only 2 movers to unload everything. During that time, we had to buy several items to survive without our stuff for almost a month and a 10 pounds mattress could not be refunded. Unbelievable! Do not trust this company, it's not worth it!

What is a very stressful process was much more manageable with the staff and service we received from Diamond. The paperwork, contracts, and pricing are straightforward and easy to understand; no hidden fees or charges. The movers are professional, and careful, none of my belongings nor my home were damage during the move. The process was very easy and we were updated every step of the way during our out-of-state move.

Do not use these guys

We used this company to move from Ontario to British Columbia. They had promised that all of our belongings would be at our new home on the day we took possession. 2/3 of our household belongings arrived 3 weeks late and the other 1/3 never showed at all. Their quoted price was doubled due to “weight” but as we are not at the scales to see what our belongings weigh they can say whatever they want and therefore charge any amount. 50 attempts to contact by phone and email go unanswered by these guys. Beware! Do not use these guys!

What a great experience! From the day I called for pricing (Mark is wonderful) to the day of the move. Scam Moving Business: Do NOT Trust

Save yourself the panic and stress. Do NOT book with Diamond Relocation and do not trust one word of what they say. If you have already booked with these clowns, some words to the wise.

- Get an AirTag or tacking device and place it in one of your boxes. Seriously. It’s nice to at least have peace of mind as to where your stuff is and can be used as evidence if you decide to pursue legal action against Diamond.

- Get as much documentation as you can. Have Mark or whoever you spoke with on the phone put in writing when the anticipated arrival date is. Have documentation of how much the quote should be given the estimated weight.

- Contact other reviewers on here. They can provide some guidance as to how they dealt with this company.

-Be prepared for hidden fees. Mark Russo advised that the movers would pack and secure all of our belongings. We already had it packed but the movers packed it with more tape costing $200. There was also a ‘long distance’ fee for the length of the elevator to their truck. Seriously, this company will nickel and dime you at every chance.

My experience with Diamond: Spoke with Mark Russo in early September 2022 about moving from Calgary, AB to Toronto, ON. Mark advised that the movers would arrive on Sept. 19 in Calgary and would take 7-10 days from pickup to arrive in Toronto. This would be roughly Sept. 26-29. That wasn’t even close to the anticipated date.

Mark said they would reach out to me to coordinate a time in September. They never reached out and after many calls, I was finally able to get through to Mark who told me the movers would come ‘some time’ on the 19th. That doesn’t work for condo buildings when you need to book an elevator for specific time slots. Luckily, I had the afternoon slot and the movers from Diamond came late that afternoon. I will commend the movers who did the packing, they seemed like good people and not as sleezy as Mark and the rest of the Diamond office.

After they picked up my belongings in Calgary, the company went silent. Mark ignored numerous emails and dodged multiple calls. We saw on our AirTag that our stuff was just outside of Edmonton, AB for a large duration. I never mentioned this to Mark as you can read in the reviews he has a short temper and unfortunately we are at their mercy.

At one point in October, we called them asking what the ETA is and was placed on a ‘hold’ only for them to hang up. Oh they also make sure their inbox is full so you can’t leave voicemails. I called from my girlfriend’s phone and got an immediate pick-up, but after recognizing my voice, they hung up again.

Once they arrived, luckily most was in tact compared to several other true reviews on here: 1 shelf was slightly damaged, lamp was missing a shade – all in all, not a big deal. When it came time to pay, our quote was more than double the original price. It wasn’t terrible, about $2500, but we were quoted at $1200 – being double over is unacceptable.

After reading so many poor experiences of other customers, I count myself lucky. Some people waited for months, had tons of items damaged, were talked to in demeaning language - I just had to deal with 3 weeks late, but was able to track where my items were. Hopefully the people who run this ‘business’ will be brought down.

Avoid them and go with another business and pay more - at least you know your with a half decent company.

Excellent service

Excellent moving service! They were communicative and on time, and they did my whole move in an hour less than they quoted me, including some large items that came up at the last minute. This is the first time I've hired movers and I was nervous, but they put me at ease. They were very careful with my items and my walls and floors. Excellent value. Highly recommend!

Great moving company

This review is actually long overdue. I am a repeat customer with Diamond Relocation. In the past 2 years, they helped me move twice and they always deliver top notch service. Moving is stressful, so do yourself a favor, and trust the professionals like Diamond Relocation. Nick is the wizard and his estimates give you a good idea . The moving team works hard, and they work fast. These guys keep going, rarely take breaks! I never had damages with my furniture or fragile items. With Diamond Relocation, you're in good hands. I don't know when my next move is, but when it happens, Diamond will be the team I lean on.

Smooth Movers!

Great movers, I'd recommend them to anyone! They arrived on time and moved quickly through the whole process. From loading to unloading, they were quick and handled everything with care. They wrapped and protected whatever I hadn't gotten to as well as being mindful enough to lay down blankets to protect the entrances and flooring. They were also as friendly as they were professional. Smooth process from beginning to end.
