Avoid.

DO NOT ever use Christian Brothers Moving and Storage. Everything that could go wrong with a move went wrong with this company. For starters, I moved 3 blocks, less than 1/2 of a mile, and yet it took 2 days for the truck to deliver my possessions. The 2 movers stopped for lunch between the two locations and for some unknown reason decided to check the load. Yes - just 2 blocks from the original destination they decided to open the truck in a Safeway lot. When lowering the lift, the hydraulic broke and the lift fell to the ground so the truck was essentially stuck. There are only 2 reasons the movers would check the load after 2 blocks - either they heard something fall or they were planning on taking something. So, they had to move the furniture to a new truck and deliver my items the next day. No apologies from the company. Once the items came off the new truck the next day, nearly every piece of furniture was damaged. The mattresses were not covered as they promised, resulting in the delivery of dirty and torn corners on every mattress. Boxes were damaged with holes, plastic containers were scratched. Furniture was scratched and/or broken. Kitchen goods were shattered. They clearly did not load the truck in a professional manner.
Further, I had received a coupon for $500 off boxes after I booked the appointment. Despite this, and having an email to prove it, the movers continued to try and charge me for each box and told me there was no way I would get $500 off as that would be enough boxes to move an entire neighborhood. They eventually gave up after reading the email and discussing with management. This is the type of attitude I dealt with all day both days. A 3rd mover showed up the morning of the second day who gave me even more attitude when I requested that he not walk on the new carpet with his shoes. He left immediately and took off running through the neighborhood which was quite strange. I have no clue where he ran off to without a car. As I had to monitor what was going on inside my new place, I had friends and family come over to watch the truck outside to ensure he did not come back to steal anything.
I discussed the many issues with the office manager, Sabrina, the following Monday and she offered me a lousy 2 hours off the move. Again, no apologies. Not wanting to deal with the headache of litigation, I suggested 4 hours despite the fact that this did not come anywhere near the additional cost I incurred from the delayed delivery and negligence of the movers. I never heard back regarding this generous settlement which means I now have to pursue with litigation.
Lastly, I was never given a claim form for all the damage after requesting on numerous occasions. All claims must be submitted within 10 days and they likely were hoping I would fail to submit within the proper time frame without the form. I could go on, but I'm sure the point is made by now. This is the absolute WORST moving company I have ever dealt with and I highly recommend avoiding them at ALL COSTS.

Moving from Summit County to Pueblo County.

I first got a quote from the front office. They were very friendly and professional. Their prices were very fair.
They sent 3 young men , Jason, Devon and Angelo. These guys are like watching Ninjas. They don't do anything twice. Very friendly and courteous.
I would recommend them to my best friend. I've worked all my life. I can spot a good worker. Doesn't get any better than Jason, Devon and Angelo. My two cents.

Great Experience.

We sold our home in July and used Christian Brothers at that time and they were great at moving us into our rental. We bought a home and just used them again in February. Jason, Devon, Mario, and Rodrigo all did a fantastic job again for us. They were quick and everything arrived in tact and they were happy to help us organize the furniture placement if needed before they left. Plus free boxes!
I would certainly use them again.

Damaged Items, Unprofessional, Late, Lazy, Rude.

DON'T TRUST YOUR BELONGINGS OR WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I hired CB Moving to move my home into a storage unit while I was displaced for about a year and having my new home constructed. There's a list of issues.
1. The day of the move NO ONE SHOWED UP. I called in a panic, it was a Saturday, and the possession date on my home that I was selling was Monday. This got resolved and a team was sent out for Sunday. It was some miscommunication on both sides myself included.

2. Sunday, I was told to expect my movers by 8:00..they weren't there at 8, they weren't there at 9..I called in a panic, obviously given the experience the day before. They showed up at 9:30. (BTW they charged me at the end of the day since 8:00 am citing drive and prep time even though my move out location was no more than a 10 min drive from their location).

3. During the move at my property and the loading the the truck, two of the three guys started fighting at each other, swearing and and getting heated. In front of my then 3 and 5 year old daughters.

4. During the transfer of the move the movers all stopped for lunch. Fine..eat, take a break, but they tried to charge me this time as well. At $190 an hour, I am not paying for that..that pay rate falls to the company in ANY move.

5. During the move into the storage unit and emptying the truck, I caught their guys doing a "lookout" while loading my items into storage. I originally left while they were putting my belongings because I don't believe I should have to look over their shoulder. When I returned through a different entrance into the facility, 2 of the men were sitting in the truck, while the third was standing at the end of the aisle peaking his head around looking for my truck to return. Once they saw me, he came running back to warn them.

6. THIS IS THE WORST PART. My items were moved to storage as many people do when they relocate, or are in transition. As I stated I was having a home built. I recently just emptied my storage, not using CB understandibly because of items 1-5 with my move out process. The movers I used pointed out things as they were pulling them out of my storage before moving them, to show the damage to verify they hadn't done it. Custom furniture ruined, cracked door on my washer, ruined dressers, this list goes on and on.

Of course these items being damaged weren't caught until recently. They've been sitting in storage untouched the last year. When I contacted the company the only thing they said was, "You have 10 days in your contract to file a claim" and basically had zero intention of looking into it, or doing anything about it or trying to even talk about it. Their answer was simply "You Signed a Contract, and the Contract said 10 days"

So, therefore my options are to file a claim in civil court for these items. Something I fully intend to do. But be warned all. THE DO NOT UPHOLD ANY CHRISTIAN VALUES THAT THEY CLAIM BASED ON THEIR NAME.

If you value your belongings DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Christian Brothers Moving & Storage.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We had our goods stored with Christian Brothers for over a year, May 2011 to June 2012, while our new home was constructed.  I was fine with the situation for the first several months.  I was fine until I went into their climate controlled vault to get something out of the storage.  That was when I found that our belongings where separated from others by a couple strips of packing tape.  A couple strips of packing tape, for heaven's sake!  I remember thinking inwardly that that was a true recipe for loss or theft. Now,, Come June 2012 and finally our new home is complete.  I was so excited to call and schedule the delivery of my goods.  The delivery arrived later than I anticipated and we all were anxious to get the truck unloaded and our stuff into the house or the garage.  The truck left and all seemed fine.  Then we started up truly look at our goods and to unpack the boxes.  We found that the arms of the sofa were crushed by weight that had rested on the arms for those many months.  We found abrasions on several pieces.  And worst of all, at least one box is MISSING!!  That box contained our part of our wedding china and other special dishes and plates.  These were gifts from people, most of whom are long gone, as we have been married for 39 years. When talking to Christian Brothers I was told that we could file a claim and receive $0.60/pound for our loss.  That would equate to less than the cost of one of the lost plates.  I share some of the responsibility for our loss, in that I did not purchase the extra insurance.  However, there was a severe break-down in communications.  Christian Brothers in no way indicated that my "Renter's Insurance" would only cover theft and not loss.  Even in the event that I filed a claim, after filing a police report, my deductible would be more than the loss. I am going to file a police report for theft.  My wedding china went into their vault in May 2011 and was not found in June 2012.  My only conclusion is that the box/boxes were lost, theft due to lack of protection, or actually stolen.  Either way, I do not have my wedding china. You ask, would I recommend Christian Brothers?  Not on a bet!  Not a single person from Christian Brothers has called, or visited us, to express regret or to say that they were sorry for our loss.  Their attitude has been, "TO BAD, SO SAD!  GET OVER IT AND GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE!" LOOK FOR ANOTHER COMPANY, THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER COMPANIES IN THE MARKET PLACE. Jack Plummer                .

Excellent Movers.

Christian Brothers Moving & Storage did an excellent job moving us from Spring, TX to The Woodlands, TX.  It wasn't a far move but everything was handled very professionally and the movers were very careful with our belongings.  They are contract employees but we found them to be very good and they were prompt in getting to our house early and getting us moved all in one day.  We found all items in good shape and nothing broken.  Also, they were very conscientious when unloading at our new home.  There was not one scratch or bump on any of our walls and we were expecting to do quite a bit of touch up work after the move, but none was necessary.
Thanks to Tyrone, Johnny and Jose.

Overall Experience.

I don't normally share my reviews, but this was the best moving experience I've ever had.  The overall process was great.  It was great to have Shawn involved in the entire process.  The hit their estimated hours exactly.  I enjoyed having nice people in our home.  Shawn and Justin were very careful packers, nothing was broken during the move, not even a scratch.  Shawn, Justin and Benny were very efficient loaders and just nice people to have in the house during the loading process.  And then Shawn and Thomas did a wonderful job on the move and unloading.  I've done five or six interstate moves and this was the best for sure.  As I mentioned nothing broke and I havent' even found any scratches to mention.  I'd recommend Christian Brothers and this crew in particular, to anyone looking to move!  Thanks for the wonderful experience.  - Ryan .

Moving With Christian Brothers.

Overcharge by 40% and refused to respond to concerns about tickets signed on moving and delivery days.

Significant damage to goods. Used only 16 moving pads for two large trucks. movers said there should be 80 pads per truck.

They offered 2 hours of in home repair then withdrew it because I complained to the Better Business Bureau.

They had their attorney contact me for pictures and information. Six weeks later when I called to ask for the response, the attorney told me he had been replaced as their attorney but never officially notified.

When I contacted the insurance company rgistered with the Colorado PUC, the insurance company declared that they were only in an application state.

I wrote directly to the CEO but he refused to respond to me.

A very sad and disappointing move with a company that by the Better Business Bureau recommendation, we had high hopes.

Terrible.

Christian Brothers Moving and Storage recently did a move for us. They did an absolute TERRIBLE job. They were late showing up the day of the move, they damaged furniture, broke pictures in their frames, and broke several dishes. They were stacking boxes that I had marked fragile. They clearly did not care about what they were doing and were very inexperienced. I took pictures of everything that was damaged and when I contacted the manager to talk to him about everything, he was VERY rude and would not listen to what I had to say. I called the main office where the owner of the company is located and once again dealt with VERY rude people who would not listen to what I had to say. I would not recommend these movers to anyone for any reason. They are not responsible for their damages and have horrible customer service.

Very poor customer service.

Rates were competitive to other companies, I chose Christian Brothers because sales person was nice and made extra effort to earn our business. Unfortunately, when things didn't go smooth and we called to express our dissatisfaction he turned and was rude loud and refused to compromise. We called the corporate office and received the same attitude. Each individual we spoke to, locally and at Corporate, claimed to be the highest level of management and we would not change their decision. it is what it is was their response.
The packing was rushed, furniture was not covered, had scratches, walls were scratched and dented and floor scratched. The overall attitudes was "it's not that bad".
I understand minor things happen during a move but the no care attitude and being yelled at by Mangers is not good business.

Move to Texas.

The owner gave us the initial quote & called it firm for our move to Texas. We stored our furniture with them for a year. The price changed when we called about it - doubled. We were willing to pay the extra gas fees but, we felt like hostages & the owner wanted nothing to do with us. The office manager said none of their quotes were binding, even if signed by them and us.
When we received our furniture they used trailers with no suspension. A $4,000 Travertine coffee table was shattered, treadmill cover in pieces, weight machne rods missing along with many, many other broken and missing items. It was truly a terrible experience which went on until 9 at night. We had 2 movers plus one man picked off Craig's list down here who could not read the boxes. Do not use them for anything. Everything we packed ourselves came thru fine.

Christian Brothers.

"All 4 guys kicked [EDIT] and worked hard. Got everything moved really quickly and were careful

while moving. I highly recommend these 4 guys if you go with Christian Brothers make sure to

ask for this crew (Thomas, Jesse, Albert and Jason)."

This what exactly what I wrote the day of the move and I stand by that. ALL the movers themselves were hard workers and were very nice. The only issue I had with them was when it came time to billing. It only took them 1.5 hours to unload both trucks at my hosue during the move which is awesome. However, they said that it took them 6 hours to load the trucks that morning saying they started at 7am. I find that a little hard to believe that it took 4 times longer to load the trucks then to unload especially since our storage spot was very close to their loading zone. I also found it weird given they didn't call me until around 9:30am so I was assuming that was when they started loading. When I questioned them about it after the fact they said that they indeed start at 7am. If you use Christian Brothers I would recommend going to their facility the morning of the load just to make sure you know exactly when they start loading.

I didn't find it odd that we had to pay for drive time but I did find it hard that we had to pay for their lunch time. The movers told me they were done loading the truck at noon and it took them 30 minutes to drive to my house so that would mean I paid for an hour lunch.

The overall cost included of $4,200 included moving out of our first house, storing our stuff for 4 months, and then moving it back into our new house.

Overall I would recommend these guys but just make sure you monitor them closely so you do not get charged for hours they do not work. They only broke a few items (ping pong table, desk chair wheel, and 1 vase) which I think is pretty good given we had 2 truck loads full of stuff.

Buyer Beware.

Would not come out and give an estimate prior to the move, did not provide a written tabulation of how many boxes or packing material used,  no inventory sheet of boxes and furniture. We were forced to decrease the move by one day late in the day. Over $2,000.00 in documented furniture damage (some permanent), only 4 pieces of furniture moved were without some damage. To my knowledge used no pads on furniture only wrapped in plastic. Broke stair banister moving furniture into new house, damaged walls and wood floor, did not pack or move all of the belongings at old house, broke glass table top, damaged upholstery on chairs and an antique sofa and numerous friction mars and chips on furniture due to poor protection and how it was packed in the trucks. At 1 AM, end of move, she gave me a written invoice and received payment in full.
Did not pay the damage claim in full, even though estimate and pictures of damage was submitted by a professional furniture repairperson. I discussed this with her, she said the claim I originally filed was a lesser amount. I resent original email documents and pictures.   She then deducted for "extra boxes" a total of almost $400.00 from the damage claim. The first mention of this was when I was  of trying to collect the damage claim.
I was not at the old house during the packing and move. I would have definitely stopped the moved, if I had been there to see how everything went on the truck. They are the worst moving company I have every used or heard of.  Even though they appear to be nice people, they do not possess the ability to move any furniture or belongings of value. They definitely do not know the value of what they are moving based on how the boxes were packed and the furniture prepared. In some cases different items were just placed all together in an open boxes without any packing material.  I have moved many times using all types of companies. I have never experienced as much damage and lack of care or concern, as was demonstrated by this company in this move. Buyer beware.  .

Furniture, floor, walls, and staircase damages.

Christian brothers actual working movers were very courteous except for a person named Chief.  He asked me if I wanted to protect my floors and I said "yes".  However, they damages my wood floors and refused to fix it.  They also damaged my furniture and refused to fix it and their owner called my home phone to harass me not to contact the company regarding fixing my floors and furniture.  I contacted and filed a complaint with BBB.  Christian Brothers is very dishonest and will not hold up to their accountability to fix my floors that they damaged, my dry wall, my staircase, and my furniture.  My house is brand new construction and they have caused damages to my house and furniture and will not hold accountability for it.  I would highly recommend that you review all comments and background on Chritian Movers before using them.

Avoid!!

I have never left a review like this, but felt compelled to do so in this instance given the lack of competence of Christian Brother’s Moving and Storage. The company packed and moved my house and given my experience, I would STRONGLY urge you to find another of the many movers in Denver. In their haste, the packing team failed to pack two entire bathrooms and two closets, which I made them aware of the day of the move. They nearly left without packing these rooms and it required multiple requests for them to get the remaining items. Unfortunately, because my kitchen was completely full of boxes, I didn’t realize they also failed to pack everything in my island, as well as all my china. I didn’t realize this until they had come and gone and it required me to spend three hours and make two trips to and from the house at midnight that night, barely beating our deadline to get out of the house. The movers also broke a chandelier while moving a mattress. With plenty of clearance, this was simply them not paying attention. I was told by the company that glass is not covered under their policy. After pressing them, they finally gave me the number of their 3rd party insurance vendor. I have currently sent them multiple emails and left multiple messages, but have not heard back from them. Next, the movers failed to plug in my garage refrigerator/freezer. Two days after the move, we realized this as thawed meat was running down the sides. Needless to say, we had to throw out a couple hundred dollars of ruined product. Lastly, I was charged for 11.5 hours for the move. The movers showed up at my house at 8:45 and were gone from the new house at 4:45. They claimed they started the day at 7 to get the truck ready. My house in 25 minutes from their office so apparently it takes over an hour for six guys to throw a few blankets on the truck and 2 hours to make the 25 minute drive back to the office at the end of the day. Realizing a clear padding of hours and in an acknowledgment of their grievous mistake, the company credited me with one hour, though this still leaves two hours unaccounted for.

The movers worked hard, at least while I was there, but neither the packers nor the movers took their time to make sure things were done right and complete. My biggest complaint is the office staff. While trying to rectify the situation, I was talked to in a condescending manner. I was basically called a liar when I told the office staff their packers had failed to pack my island and china. I was eventually provided a solution that was completely unacceptable and then was hung up on when I pushed back on their proposal. I spent over $5,000 on the move and expected far superior service. As noted, I would strongly advise against using Christian Brother’s. From misspellings (both my wife’s name and our street address were spelled incorrectly, a precursor of the company’s shoddy work) and bad math that I had to correct on their original quote, to multiple concerns with the actual pack and move, and terrible customer services from both the company and its insurance provider after the fact, I am sure you will be able to find plenty of other movers that operate with far more integrity and provide far superior performance. I should have heeded the warnings of all the other negative reviews out there on this company, hopefully you will learn from my mistake.

Unsatisfactory.

Before contracting with Christian Brothers Moving I would check with other moving businesses for  price and customer service. Just contracted with them for storage and already a substantial price increase and received no notification of increase. Read your contract before you do any business with this company. First I had to call the company when I notice a price increase. Before that time I always would receive an e-mail or written letter when I first contracted with them. I never received any communication that the company was looking to increase storgae price and give me the option to make other arrangements. After doing some research there are other moving companies that are more reasonable and do business the right way.

Horrible Experience.

Move day started with the movers hitting up my wife for tips. Credit where credit is due they worked very hard and efficiently. They did damage the walls and a door in the home we we're moving out of. My wife suggested we tip them so I bought the team breakfast and gave each mover $20. Behind my back one of the movers went to my wife and said the $20 was an insult. He failed to confront me. Upon delivery to the new home lamps broken, vases broken, disassembled furniture not assembled (as was promised), and they broke our treadmill. They actually had the nerve to hit my wife up for tips again..
If you want to make an already stressful activity worse, hire these morons!

Great Guys.

We had a positive experience with our movers and our move was not an easy or simple one. Cisco, David G, Justin S, Daniel C were fun and easy to work with. They did lose the screws to the treadmill, but partially our fault too since we don't remember where the mover told us he was taping them. Hopefully, they will appear as we unpack! The guys worked their butts off and we will use them again and ask for the same guys. They even responded with "see you next year"! :).

Not a very “Christian” way of dealing with customers. AVOID!

Not a very “Christian” way of dealing with customers. AVOID!
They over-billed us more than $900 in falsified services. After a very painful, five-week process, I finally agreed to a $777 refund. I had to put a $1,000 dispute with my credit card company. This might have helped my negotiation. I have subsequently filed a complaint with the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC).

Christian Brothers Moving and Storage eventually acknowledged that they over-billed us but has deliberately failed to follow through on the requested refund. They are apparently dragging this process out to avoid or delay repayment. According to our contract, we must go through arbitration if they failed to respond.
Sabrina was my main contact, post move, regarding the poor service and fraudulent billing practices. The painful process of getting Christian Brothers Moving & Storage to refund the over-billing was further exacerbated, by Sabrina’s dragging this out by failing to respond and failing to provide complete information to reconcile. She would frequently take a week to reply to an email and she never returned a phone call.

Problem details:
1. Damage to basement door in new house. I pointed this out to Mariano, the supervisor. One of his workers suggested taking to door off the hinges earlier in the day but Mariano decided it was not necessary.
2. The movers disassembled a recliner couch from the upstairs Bonus room, in the old house, to make it easier to carry. They reassembled half of the recliner couch in the new home and left the other half and the bolts on the floor next to it.
3. The movers took the feet off a club chair to make it easier to carry. They brought the chair into the basement, as directed, but they did not reassemble. They left one of the feet in the garage. We have been unable to locate the second foot.
4. A file cabinet was damaged / dented in the move and DR hutch ws damaged
5. So far, we have found over forty boxes that were delivered to the wrong rooms. Most of these were placed in the basement storage area of the new house when they were clearly marked for upstairs rooms. This meant that we must now carry them up two flights of stairs. NOT HAPPY!
6. At times, your team was laid-back, unmotivated, and unenthusiastic. There were frequent and extended breaks during each of the three truck changes. I had to look around to see that no one was working on multiple occasions.
7. I was very disappointed when Mariano reviewed the final bill with me that showed 14 hours of labor on a 10-hour estimate. At the beginning of the move the supervisor pointed out that we were exceptionally well prepared for the move with virtually everything boxed, guest bedroom bed disassembled, wall unit disassembled, and all boxed clearly labelled. Why was your estimator off by more than 40%? (Well, he wasn’t because they over-charged us by 3 ½ hours)
8. Mariano (working supervisor) expressed his annoyance with the $120 cash tip that I gave him and his team during the final bill signing. He stated that this was way too little, and I could add more to the bill, by credit card, if I did not have any more cash. I chose to stay with $120. We also provided your team a $150 Chick-fil-A lunch, at our expense. They thanked us for lunch.

Time/Hours Reconciliation: 3 ½ hours overcharged out of the 14 hours billed on a 10-hour quote. So, after the refund, I paid for 11 hours on a 10-hour quote.

On a positive note: Their furniture repair guy was great. He fixed a ding on our dining room hutch and fixed the hole in the door.

Terrible Mover.

This is the worse moving company I have ever had. My experience was several years ago. Seems as if some things never change. They have been charging more than quoted, damaged furniture, improperly packed boxes and wrap furniture for years. Do no be misled by their name. Their practices are not congruent with name. Great service - Smooth move!

We recently used Christian Brothers Moving and Storage for our move from Colorado to Kansas. The employees in the office were very helpful getting us started.
