HAVEN'T SEEN MY BELONGINGS IN 17 MONTHS

Used them in 2023 along with their scam partners NORTH AMERICAN MOVING EXPERTS, AND NEVER SAW MY BELONGING AGAIN!!!!! I'm wiring this October 2024. They stole my stuff AND GHOSTED ME WHEN I TRIED TO FIND THEM. When the police, the detectives, my insurance company or bank tried them, they answered and said that they were waiting on my final payment to deliver all my belongings. When I try them (over 100 times) they don't answer or return my calls. Ghosted

I then started getting EXTORTION texts messages from them telling me that, because of new "storage fees" (for something that was never supposed to be in storage in the first place) I owed them over 6,000 in CASH ONLY. They'd deliver my thing but wouldn't give them to me until I gave the the cash. These text messages came from random numbers and the price increased with each cryptic text.

Everything was handed over to the police and my insurance company (USAA , who never paid out my renter's insurance based on them being able to get them on the phone, just like the police), neither would pursued it once they got someone on the line. THESE THIEVES STOLE EVERY POSSESSION I OWNED AND I WILL NEVER SEE ANY OF IT AGAIN.USE ANYONE ELSE BUT THESE AMORAL CROOKS

Any online sleuths on private detectives willing to help me pursue this almost 2 year battle, please contact lynnbweiner@gmail.com.

Long-distance move from Des Moines, IA to Phoenix, AZ

I was happy with my service.

So I booked my move with a broker. Never moving Cross country before I was not aware that another mover would show up to my move. Carefree called me to confirm the pick up time. I added some things to my move from going to an estate auction with my mom. (Big mistake I knew I would buy something) Carefree did a walk through video of the items I was taking and my move price never adjusted. I had to sign a new contract with them and they explained to me I would have a delivery spread. They had up to 30 business days to get my stuff to me and it only took them 13. They wrapped my furniture in blankets and shrink-wrap and even taped the boxes for me that I didn't have any tape for. The movers were patient with my children getting in the way and worked around my big dogs barking all day long. The delivery driver called me to let me know he was going to be in my area 3 days before he delivered. He answered all my silly questions and my phone when I called him back with more. I was happy with my services. I seen the bad reviews for carefree but I am so glad that my move was not stressful and the company took care of my belongings.

Long-distance move from Michigan to California

Don’t use Relocation Nation or Carefree Movers Inc.

I received horrible moving service from Carefree Movers. They are hacks at best. Relocation Nation out of Florida used them to perform my moving service from Michigan to California. These moving brokerage companies have a list of moving companies that they use but they will not provide the names or reviews of them to you unless you pay a deposit and even still you may not get their list. Carefree had poor ratings and I was not made aware until after my horrific move.

When I tried to serve notice to Carefree that I was taking them to small claims court, the address was undeliverable. Their address is not even real. I talked to a property management company in Iowa about their address and they even said that Carefree are crooks and the address was a virtual property? This is how fraudulent Carefree Movers are and the fact that Relocation Nation have them under list of services makes them just as responsible.

Bottom line, do not use a Brokerage Service for moving because they are not transparent with who they use. By law, they are suppose to reveal their services. Use a company with container like storage services( Pack Rat, PODS. Etc.) and get some help in packing. It’s more work but you will have the peace of mind knowing your items are all there and accounted for.

Care free movers

I don’t even want to give them one star! Delivery was made yesterday - 19 days after requested date. So far, I have found 25 items broken - including a tv (packed by them) and a cast iron skillet (that takes some effort) and the legs are broken off a bookshelf that belonged to my grandparents. Two items weren’t even delivered. And I’m not even done packing. The lack of effort to take care of people is beyond frustrating and beyond belief. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY - RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

Long-distance move from Tucson, AZ to Kimberling City, MO

No customer service, bad

I setup move in Dec to have in June.

By Best movers. They contracted Carefree movers to pickup my furniture. A company called Affordable Movers was contracted by Carefree to do pickup. It took 2 days for them to pick up furniture. Stated 5 to 10 days for delivery. 3 weeks tried to call 6 times Carefree movers to ensure they could deliver at my house due to roads and make payment. Only a lady would answer and would not let me talk to anyone or have someone in their company call me back. Would only say driver will call 24 hrs before delivery and would not give any date of delivery. 3

1/2 weeks Driver with SM Reno LLC called on Sunday night stating I had to pay an additional $2300.00to shuttle or have 2 Uhaul trucks at 9 AM next morning or would drive throw to next delivery.

Had to meet them in a Walmart parking lot. All furniture was saran wrapped in Az. Drivers removed most the wrapping on their truck and basically threw it on my Uhaul trucks (I did not know this until I started myself to unload the trucks). They stated the were not responsible for any damages. Lots if broken glass, wooden furniture scratched very badly. Thousands of dollars in damages.

These people need to have their licenses revolked.

DO NOT USE THES PEOPLE!!!

Criminals. Broke everything and lost TV

This is the absolute worst moving company on the market. They broke peloton bike, TV is smashed to pieces (after they lost it and told us it is "normal" to lose stuff) and their moving guys tried to jack up the price to 9grand when it was just my fiancee by herself dealing with them because of #steps they had to take. These are criminal low-life dishonest people. Do not do business with them.

Horrible Company

I moved from Georgia back to California in March of 2022. I booked with Elite Moving Partners, LLC in February to handle my move. The service I received from Elite Moving Partners, LLC was great before the date of my move. I was confident that I had booked with the right company to manage all aspects of my move – I was incredibly wrong. Elite Moving Partners, LLC is the brokerage company and used Carefree Movers Inc to manage my pick-up and delivery. Carefree Movers Inc has a 1-star rating online and I am not at all sure why any brokerage would work with such a badly reviewed company. My items were picked up from Georgia on March 19, 2022. The driver was 4 hours late to pick-up my items and incredibly rude. I found him sitting on my furniture instead of doing his job. When it came time to do inventory, his handwriting was so horrible that I asked him to read each inventory line item to me before I did my final sign-off. He then proceeded to tell me that I could read it myself. The men that the driver hired to help with the move were negligent and did not properly package my items. My $400 mirror was completely shattered, my $2,000+ couch has damage to the upholstery, and so so much more. I contacted Elite Moving Partners, LLC on a weekly basis to get an update on when my items would arrive in California. They always brushed me off and told me that my items were “in-route.” It was not until my items were over 30 business days delayed that they really decided to look into where everything was. It turns out, my items were in a warehouse in Georgia the entire time. My items did not finally make it to me in California until May 29, 2022 – over two months later. Before my items were delivered, I spoke with Elite Moving Partners, LLC and Carefree Movers Inc multiple times. Elite Moving Partners, LLC would try to tell me everything I wanted to hear. They would tell me that I did not have to pay the final $1,200 due upon delivery and that the amount would be prorated based on the $30/day owed to me for every day my items were late. They told me that once I file a delay claim, it would be managed immediately and I would be compensated at an expedited rate. None of this was true. They put me in touch with the president and vice president of Carefree Movers Inc who have the absolute worst customer service. They threatened me over-the-phone and told me that if I did not pay the $1,200 that I would not get my items back but instead would be responsible for paying to store the items for as long as it took for them to get their money. They yelled at my partner and I over-the-phone about getting their money when we just wanted answers on what compensation they would be providing for the delay (we were unaware of all of the damages at this time). Being that the shipment was over two months delayed, we agreed to pay the $1,200 delivery fee as we were promised that our claim would be expedited. 12 of my furniture items came damaged. I filed my damage and delayed claim on 6/7/2022 and did not hear back from the settlement company until 8/6/2022 – my claim was not at all expedited like I was told. Carefree Movers Inc wants to settle for $91 – which does not take into account their negligence in the way they packaged or handled my items, nor does it account for the $30/day delay fee owed to me as outlined in the Bill of Lading. I would urge you not to book with Elite Moving Partners, LCC nor Carefree Movers Inc – and if you do, be prepared to go to small claims court.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Missouri

Worst company ever. They deserve zero stars.

1) My move was sold to them by Empire Movers Broker and i could not do anything about it. Empire quoted me $4500 for the move but Carefree jacked up the price to over $6000 when they showed up to move me so i was stuck with them.

2) they told me they would deliver three days later and never showed up. When i called the customer service person was rude and condescending and said the fine print on the 30 page document they bring when they show up the day of the move says they have thirty days. It is all a scam run by liars.

3) they broke numerous items and completely ignored boxes labeled as fragile.

4) they are downright reckless with anything related to children/infants. they put my infants crib together wrong and left out a large bolt, making the crib dangerous, didn’t tell me they left a bolt off, and i found a week later when my child smashed him finger between the sides of the crib.

5) they lost my queen sized box spring. Yes, a queen sized box spring. When i called that same snarky customer service woman answered, told me i was wrong and when i could prove that i was right told me how to claim my item.

6) they said they found the box spring and they themselves said they had 30 days to find and deliver it. It is now almost two months later and they are ignoring my claims and emails and phone calls. I’m going to BBB now and will file a legal claim if i need to. They are awful. Absolutely awful. Not one thing is halfway decent about them and they will rob you blind.

For the love of God, do NOT hire this company.

Thieves! DON’T Use This Company!!

I was unknowingly transferred from Empire Moving to this sham of a company, laughably called “Carefree Movers”. This entire nightmare cost me $15,000. Besides destroying my treadmill and breaking the legs on other furniture, a lot of my small kitchen appliances and serving dishes are “missing” and never made it to my new home. They can’t “find” my stuff. They put a hole in my wall, scraped the finish from the stair railing and gouged my hardwood floors, with their “professional” movers. Their “professional” movers consisted of a little girl and skinny guy, neither of which knew what they were doing. Now this sham of a company wants me to prove my losses by providing them with receipts for everything. I’ve given their claims department everything I had for paperwork, but no matter what I’ve provided, all I get is an anonymous email saying it’s not enough. I ask them to call me but all they do is ghost me. I’m filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, where they have an F rating. I’m also going to be contacting the Insurance Commissioner to see what action can be taken against this sham of a company.

Sell Everything, Buy New - Or Rent a Uhaul and pay loaders/unloaders

Company was contracted by my original logistics moving company called Eagle Moving out of Boca Rotan, FL. Worst experience in moving I've ever had, most costly due to extortion tactics. They pile all of your items into huge semi-truck loads with others, but never plan ahead for residential neighborhood deliveries, never researching their client's final delivery locations as if it that giant truck is going to fit. If it won't, they add on an extra $2,700 or more to rent a 26' Uhaul to transfer (moving your items again) to the smaller truck, and then bring it to you, or they will tell you that contractually they can put your stuff in storage, charging you for the added unload/loading and storage fees, on top of the $2,700+.

After all the transfers, items end up missing, damaged, and or you end up with pieces from someone else's loads. By the time my move from Yuma, AZ got to Southern West Virginia the entire proceeds from my last home sale was eaten up by their added fees and charges, costing me a whopping $21,000+. And to add insult to injury, the movers kept hinting around for tips, and when we told them we had already over paid the company, they literally started mishandling furniture, damaging or destroying it.

It is cheaper to sell everything but your personal items, even donating it all, and buying new, than to have this crew handling your valuables treating them like trash.

My first quote through Eagle was $8,700, that jumped up when Carefree showed up at the last moment before we had to be out of the sold house, and they did a walk through phone facetime with their boss, and he told them to add extra which brought it up to $18,000+! Add the extra $2,700 in order to even have it delivered in poor condition, it was the $21,000 that was the final kill.

Save yourself any heartache and intense stress. Stay away from anything that resembles the names Eagle Moving Inc, and Carefree Movers. They only want your money and do not honor their contract. Not one piece of furniture they took apart was reassembled! We had to buy new hardware in order to put the beds and dining table back together as they had lost most of the original hardware.

Tool chest full of tools disappeared, as well as a Lion Lawn ornament that was over $400, and the intense damage to brand new furnishings just wasn't worth keeping our things.

SLOPPY BUSINESS

So I never booked with this company but the company I DID book with, Southern Guarantee, farmed my items out to this company.

HORRIBLE communication from the company. It's hard to get them on the phone ever. I also had to call them weekly to ask about the status of my items. The week it was delivered, I was told two days before I got back to back calls from a Puerto Rico number that my items had not been picked up my a driver yet. Turns out they farmed my drop off to an independent driver that called me hours before he was arriving at the storage unit and I wasn't even in the same state!

The person that dropped off my broken bags and boxes was not an employee of a moving company but just a person with a truck that agreed to deliver my items. My boyfriend and his friend had to help them because they were not professionals. On top of everything, my carefully packed items were all delivered in shambles. I'm so upset with this experience and I hope this helps someone before they made the mistake I did.

So many broken items- mouse poop everywhere.

I don't even know where to start.. Carefree movers just delivered our items we had them move and then put into storage until our house was ready and the majority of our items are ruined, destroyed, broken or have mouse poop in the boxes with them. To name a few of the items that they ruined in their move of our belongings: mattress, dresser, end table, patio table, TV, air compressor, couch, garbage can, fridge, and many, many more items. I don't even know where to start with this HUGE complaint because the company themselves do not care and I doubt we will see a penny from them to replace the items that they destroyed. Not to mention we paid well over $10,000 to have our items moved and stored. I am beyond livid and will go to whomever I need to go to get this company exposed and to get some sort of compensation for the time and damage they have caused us. They cannot do this to people's items and lives.

BAIT AND SWITCH EXPERTS!!!

If I could give this company zero stars, that’s what I’d do. From start to almost finish, it’s been a nightmare dealing with them.

They gave me a quote of 6000 dollars for 1100 cubic ft of space after going over our inventory in detail. On the day of the quality assurance follow up, we had more boxes so they charged 808 dollars more. On the day of pickup, the driver took video and sent it to the carrier who then called and told me it would be another 3500 dollars because the broker (not us but somehow we’re still paying for it), underestimated the cubic Feet. They would not load the truck until I signed the new bill of lading and agreed to the additional charges. (BAIT AND SWITCH! I had no choice because my deposit with the broker was non refundable. BAIT AND SWITCH AT ITS FINEST!!!

I tried calling the broker Jordan repeatedly but of course he didn’t answer or even bother to call us back to this day!! He got his money so clearly has no concerns.

It took 10 days to get our belongings, I was told it would take 2-6 days.

They are unloading now. Every item they are taking out is damaged, broken, scratched, chipped or destroyed. That’s because they have our supposed 1900 cubic ft of belongings jammed into 1100 cubic feet of space (as indicated on the inside) in the moving truck.

They better have good insurance because I’m taking pictures and videos of everything that’s broken and filing a claim.

I wouldn’t recommend this company if my life depended on it.

SCAM

Everything we had was either stolen/broken/smashed to pieces or badly damaged. They told us to file a complaint via Movingclaims.com, but……. Guess what Carefree movers aren’t even in their data base!. Charged us 2x the volume in cf that we actually had. STAY AWAY FROM THEM AND ANY OF THEIR BROKERS, SUCH AS ALLEGIANCE MOVING AND STORAGE! Total cost est. was not low $12,000 plus, for a 4 bedroom house from IN to NC. Allegiance claim they very carefully vet their subcontractors, but…… Carefree wasn’t even licensed to operate in IN or NC-the start and end of our move! Have no refund even tho’ we were told we’d only pay for the cf we had delivered. Were delivered 2150cf, and charged for 3900cf. CF don’t answer phone/the State AG/BBB(rating F)/registered mail returned as ‘undeliverable’.

Long-distance move from Columbus, OH to San Francisco, CA

Pretty terrible, but cheap

I was unfortunately paired with this company through Safeway Relocation (a moving brokerage). I immediately read the reviews and was terrified for my move with them. Everything everyone says is true; they're a total scam. However, the initial quote was super cheap, which is the only reason I went with this brokerage service. I had to move 3 days before Christmas from Ohio to California. I was quoted a little less than 2k (I'm a single 25 y/o who was moving a studio apt, basically no furniture, just boxes). My stuff basically isn't worth anything, so I figured I'd go with the cheapest price.

Carefree did come on my requested date, December 22nd, and my mover was extremely friendly and wrapped my stuff pretty well. The actual movers are the only good thing about this company. Once it was picked up, I never heard from them again until January 15th. They called and tried to deliver it to me that day, but told me they were in an 18-wheeler and needed me to pay them an extra $500 to get a "shuttle" to deliver my stuff. My delivery address from the day they picked up my stuff was to San Francisco, so my question is why was my stuff put in an 18-wheeler for delivery in the first place? There is no place in this city that can accommodate an 18-wheeler for drop off. I had to pay them $1,300 upon delivery, after I had already paid this company $1,100 in the deposit and pick-up fees. The worst part was they delivered on MLK weekend, so I had no way of getting "acceptable" forms of payment for them. They only take cash or USPS money order upon delivery, and they change the price on you the day of, so there's no way to even prepare for payment in advance. There is no ATM in this city that allows you to take out more than a couple hundred dollars, and the post office is CLOSED on weekends and holidays. I had to run around the city (and I don't have a car, so had to spend $40 in Ubers alone) the morning of my delivery trying to find an acceptable form of payment for them. I'm sure they're doing some shady-under-the-table tax-evasion type of deal, but at least deliver on a date when the client can get you all the extra money you spring on them at the last second.

SHOCKINGLY, AGAINST ALL ODDS all 42 of my boxes delivered, most of them were crushed (if you go on the cheap, invest in the heavy duty boxes). The only thing that was broken was a cheap cube storage unit I was going to donate anyway. My movers were nice: again, it's not the movers, but the company's business practices, that makes this a nightmare service to work with.

SOME TIPS:

-don't book your move with them

-if you must move with them, BUBBLE WRAP THE SH*T out of everything fragile

-get the heavy duty boxes

-INVEST in the TV/picture boxes, they will save your items during transit

-Be prepared to pay $600+ above your quoted price, get your money order beforehand and take out lots of extra cash to pay the extra fees they'll charge you

-If you have anything valuable, expensive, things you care about, etc. spend the extra money and go with a reputable service. You'll end up spending $500-$1000+ extra with Carefree anyway, so you might as well get someone good instead

Carefree Movers

This is my second review. Worst company, please never use them. I signed on with Southern Guarantee not knowing they would give the job to Carefree Movers. They increased the price on moving day by 40%. I was very upset but they said we can leave your stuff. I had a flight out the next day so I had no choice. My things arrived 10 days later. Movers called before to ask me if I got cash, first thing they wanted the money. Dumped my furniture in my house three broken cabinets, legs, doors broken, scratches on almost all wood furnitures, lots of broken glass. Contract said that furnitures would be assembled, they left without assembling.

I filled out a report with them never heard back. Will file a report with BBB

They are criminals, paid $10,500 for 32boxes, I guest bedroom, I master bedroom and dining room.

Worst experience of my life.

Three days before moving we received our “final count call” we counted absolutely everything and we were told that what we had put us over it would be $1500 more. We advised we did not have that and asked if we could get our $ back. We were told it was “too late in the game” So we asked what we could do to keep it the same price. We were told to take all the Totes off and it would be fine. We did that and moved them to another room so there was no confusion. At noon on 5/20 the “Movers” showed up. They took video of everything we had and then sat in their truck for THREE hours. I called Cross Nation, I called Carefree and finally I was told that we had 715 feet instead of the 535 we booked with Cross Nation. We did not understand how that could be since we gave an EXACT count of everything in our house that was to be moved and we had subsequently taken several items off the “original” quote. After back and forth with them I told them to take the 535 as we originally agreed as we have NO more $. So they took TWO mattresses and maybe 12 boxes. I have 2/3rds of my house which in their opinion was 180 sq feet over. There is no way. We were asked by BOTH cross nation and carefree when we wanted our stuff delivered. We told BOTH companies Saturday 5/21. Saturday came and went, Sunday came I called and called finally about 1:30pm I got ahold of Anthony a “Supervisor at Carefree” He told me he would reach out to dispatch and call me hopefully in the next 30 min. 1hr 15 min went by I called Anthony back he said for me to Hold he was calling dispatch I was on hold for 23 minutes. He came back on the phone with NO update. He gave me an email address to file a claim and told me to “give it a few days” Today is Monday. I am home with two autistic children and one developmentally delayed. They have No beds, no comfort items, no clothes. But I am supposed to email a complaint and give it a few more days.

Scam, Bait & Switch and Destroyed Belongings

After researching & quoting out multiple companies based on a past horrific experience, I was matched up with this company via a broker. My experience with the broker is another long story. I was love bombed about this moving company. The moving dispatch called and said they were going to load up a day early which I accommodated, only for the movers to show up 4 hours outside the window. The men were nice, but after I received my belongings, it was all fake. They faked wrapped my very expensive & new furniture, stating they would tape up downstairs. Lie #1. I treated them well, buying them lunch and coffee and was already going to give them a nice tip only to be pressured into giving them more $. In addition, the broker & moving inventory specialist miscalculated my cubic sq ft & charged me another $2,500 on the spot. Red Flag #3. I was diligent with my inventory list even providing them measurements of the furniture I was taking. Because of this, I had to sell off quite a number of pieces as to not have more charges. Red Flag #4. Also, they forgot a number of larger items & I had to purchase a cargo hitch to load in my own vehicle.

The customer service support specialist was rude, unhelpful and showed no real care for a customer.

Next, it was Memorial weekend and I was staying with family as I was driving from point A to point B. I overcommunicated not only in email but also phone that I would not have keys until the 1st of the month. That did not stop them from having the driver call me saying that they would be delivering my belongings on the 26th. I then had to scramble and call multiple people (the broker at this point had ghosted me, ignoring all emails & calls even though he said he would be there to support me the whole way - Lie #3). Eventually, I worked out something with the driver to have my items delivered over a week past the date so that he could go home to see his family. Of course the moving company has been MIA during this whole time.

Now the driver shows up, very nice and immediately alerts me and his boss/dispatch that NONE of my expensive furniture was wrapped. Yes, that's correct! The loaders had FAKED wrapped my furniture in front of me.... only 2 pieces had furniture pads but only covering the top. However, that didn't stop from the damage/scrapes/gashes on those pieces. Office furniture & etageres - destroyed, wine cabinet - not sure what they did to the bottom portion as it's now wobbly & scratched, I can go on & on. In addition, all of my boxes were crushed, luckily I was smart and extra wrapped a lot of my fragile items.

The driver took video and sent to his boss, I took tons of pictures to be able to prove the lack of care my belongings received. It clearly states in the contract that all furniture will be wrapped.

I then followed up with the customer care supervisor at the beginning of the week & it's the same women I spoke with in the past. She clearly is in the wrong profession as she was nasty to me and I was extremely calm, didn't use profanity and informed her that I needed to speak to someone in management. She refused to provide any of that information and said to only go through the claims process, that's what it's for. I stated that I would think that management would like to know who they hired and how customers are being treated. She DID NOT CARE one bit.

The value of my belongings damaged due to their negligence exceeds the cost of my overpriced move. And I will not give up on claiming the max replacement value, reporting to the DOT and state agencies as this company should not be in business. Similar to the broker, they should not be in business.

I will be taking this up with my bank, agencies and any other institution to recoup my losses.

Long-distance move from Phoenix, AZ to Chesterland, OH

Scammed by Carefree Movers

They charged me approximately $4000.00 more then the quote given to me by Atlantic Movers in FL. They work together. Be aware! I was called the day I had to move and was told I had to pay more if I wanted to move on that day, which I had to. The guy that quoted me seemed so nice, and then I got screwed.

Do Not Ever Use Carefree Movers! They were also on channel 19 news investigates. No response!

Stop! Do not use this company

A Moving broker Empire Moving Group used Carefee Moving for our move from Memphis to Pittsburgh. 26ft straight truck rented from Penske rental trucks. The broker and moving company are all in it together. Still waiting on furniture. Pick up May 17. Husband is handicap veteran and we are staying with family that has stairs. Can hardly climb them. Paying rent on apartment we can’t move into. A complete nightmare. We are senior citizens and they saw us coming. Started at $4000 + to $9000 +. How much more? They all need to investigated.

Long-distance move from Harris, MN to Moultrie, GA

Rip off

All of the above reviews are dead on accurate! Scott at Atlantic Movers quoted me 8K and then 12K after I had to add items. After me paying a deposit they must have contracted Care Free Movers for the job. The day of the move Carefree shows up with a 26' Penske rental truck with a husband and wife team to load knowing full well the truck was to small. So the couple went around my home and property video taping everything. They informed that the cost to move would go up and boy did it! To the tune of $43K. They knew I had to be out of our old house and did not have time to find someone. Their head packer and her "professional crew" took two days to pack our items. When they were done I discovered they forgot to pack several expensive items. After being on the road several days we get to our new home only to find out the "professionals" put our stuff in storage even though they were told not to. The issue was resolved and the stuff was delivered......

Our stuff was crammed into the truck with many crushed boxes. Immediately after they started unloading the truck we started to see the real damage. It look like a bomb went off in the truck ruining almost all our furniture. Being a disabled veteran it completely broke my heart watching my wife just completely give up and cry. I would like to get together with other dissatisfied customers and sue this company out of business. My next step will be with the better business bureau and then my lawyer. Their solution is to file a damage claim where I know they will pay pennies to the dollar.

Carefree decided to hire two guys to unload the fully loaded truck. The driver who loaded the truck sat on his sorry rear end while these poor guys worked their rear ends off. After this day long nightmare the driver calls his boss to try and stiff the workers. They started screaming and hollering at each other ending with the driver flashing a handgun to try and scare them. I am tired now and can no longer keep my focus.

Long-distance move from West Des Moines, IA to Riverview, FL

AVOID THIS MOVING COMPANY

I am writing this review in every blog, so that someone can read the review and avoid this moving company. I was first approached by a broker company called All Coast Movers and they framed them self as moving company, but later on the day of pick up, they have assigned me to Carefree Movers in Des Moines, which I am not sure if it legit company and I was not able to cancel it because I have already paid $650.00 to All Coast Mover and they said I would not be getting refund. So, with out any choice, I went with Carefree Movers and then they charged me $950.00 on the pickup day instead of $650.00, on what we have agreed. So before making the payment to Carefree Movers, they have asked me to sign the contract in which it says the delivery date is between May 4th 2022 to June 16th 2022. So, I spoke to one of the Carefree Mover guy and asked him about the timeline mentioned in the contract, so he promised me that they would delivery my goods by May 6th or May 7th 2022 and asked me to make the payment which I did and the guy also confirm that he received the payment, (All these conversations are recorded) and when I called the company on May 4th and enquired about the shipping, they said they will do it by end of the month and they were telling me that as per contract, but I told them that guy named Mr. Drew spoke to me from carefree movers initially in which he said he can deliver it by May 6th or 7th (Conversation was recorded). But now they are saying they don't know or have anyone with that name.

So, in order for them to deliver in next 10 business days as promised they are charging me $3000.00 for it.

Which is technically a rip-off.

So beware of these movers.

If anyone is looking for peaceful moving, try and avoid this scammers.

I am pretty sure, they wont be delivering my stuff on time, they will cause more trouble to me since I am writing this review. Also if you look up information about Carefree Movers in "Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration", you will see that they have 11 complaints against this company in 2022 alone.

My items have not arrived

This company is horrible. Do not use them. I have waited for weeks. I was given an estimated date and now they say by law they have up to 30 days. My items have never left Ohio and I have been in Florida for weeks.Upon pick up the cost of delivery changed. They were so disorganized and had me sign the contract 3 times stated it was lost. I realized they did not place that I wanted insurance later. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
