AVOID this company at all cost. This company took a shipment from AZ and was supposed to deliver it to ME. Its been over a month and no one will tell us where the shipment is. We have tried to call over 50 times in a week span and just get hung up on, told that no one was here today that could help and they just hang up on us when we ask where the house hold goods shipment is. This is clearly a broker and they are holding customers shipments hostage. We have put in a complaint to the FMCSA & BBB to try and locate all the furniture. I hope this company gets shut down. They are thief's and the most unprofessional company I have ever come across. If you want to see your personal possessions again I strongly recommend that you go with a local, independent or valines. NOT A BROKER!!!

This company has no respect for anything you own, they never once answer the phone or email after waiting a month for my items to arrive, finally came at midnight on night, opened the truck and half my things fell out and broke. They gave my the wrong mattress, broke my bed frame, all of my dishes, and destroyed about half of my other items. Not only that but they will uncharge you an INSANE amount, they wont tell you before hand and then put you in financial hardship. They are only trying to get money from you and nothing else. Do not use this company for the love of god

There was a huge delay in receiving my stuff.

When my things finally arrived, my boxes were completely destroyed and all of my major furniture pieces were broken including my couch, nightstand, TV, bar cart, and the legs ripped of my dining table. Everything was dirty and scratched up and the paint was ruined on my barstools. I was charged several hundred dollars more than I was quoted just for them to break all of my belongings.

My move was scheduled such that my things could be delivered the first week of July. They took my stuff on June 21 and upon pickup was the first time I saw the true delivery window: 7/1-8/15. My things did not arrive to my new home until 7/15. I was living with none of my belongings with no idea where they were and no update on them for over three weeks.

This company is running a total scam. I got my stuff after 42 days and everything is broken and lost few items as well. I Have end up paying $9000 where my

initial estimate was $3500. The customer service is rude once you signed up their contract and in their contract there are hundreds of loopholes by which

they will skim the money out of you. We have been in tremendous stressful situation and also in financial burden because of these scammers. Their license should be revoked

They definitely lied when I was getting quote and when they showed up, they said I'd need to pay like $2000 more, we were able to leave things behind to fit in there and then they said their storage service is $1/sq.ft even though they told me it was 0.45/sq.ft during quoting, had to miss my work just to be on the phone and escalate with them, finally agreed at $0.5/sq.ft, thought the worst was over. But nope, we're now trying to get our stuffs delivered and it's been a month and half and still nothing. No one knows when it will get there until like 24 hours before a driver arrive, am I supposed to never go anywhere and do anything for the next year to wait for the drivers? Horrible, do not use them

My wife and I moved from the Iowa City area to Gulf Shores, Alabama. We actually hired a mover in Florida, but they subcontracted to these "movers". First off, they kept saying they needed more money. THREE times they called and said it was going to cost more money. You have to pay it, or you get NONE of your items back. Our stuff sat in a warehouse in Iowa for a week and a half before they even started moving anything. Either during the move TO the warehouse or while IN the warehouse, half of our items were destroyed, including all of my wife's crystal glassware, which was very carefully packed. Boxes were crushed (including wardrobe boxes). It seriously looked like the tines of a forklift went through them. Boxes were opened. Totes were rifled through, including one that held dirty clothes. Two collectible stuffed dogs that belonged to our young daughter were STOLEN from a completely sealed tote. Stealing toys from children! Tools were stolen. Brand new car mats from two cars were stolen. And to top it off, Carefree Mover's insurance company requires documentation that WE NEVER RECEIVED, so now they won't pay damages. STAY AWAY! Pay more if you have to upfront, but STAY AWAY from these jerks. ZERO STARS!

Worst company ever! The driver's assistant stood in my yard calling me a liar because I said he did not call me 24 hours in advance and tell me what time they were going to arrive (as per the contract) and remind me about payment. He says he did, I know he did not. He just kept calling me a liar and was screaming at me.

Then I supposedly talked to the vice president of the company who told me that he would talk to his employee (yeah, right. Like he would talk to him and I doubt he was the vp). I asked to speak to someone higher than him and he claimed that the owner/president did not talk to customers.

To pay this company I either had to give them over 1600.00 in cash or a postal money order. No other form of payment was accepted. They did not let me write out their name on the MO - they said that the company will do it. I did not get a receipt. I took pics of every single piece of paper that they handed me and that I signed.

On to my items - every single tub was broken and looked like it had been through a war! All the cardboard boxes were broken. I had a trunk that was made by some students of mine about 20 years ago that was completely broken (made of wood) and some of the things inside were broken. This trunk was packed and a blanket was taped around it by the movers. I am missing a huge canvas painting that was made for me by another student a few years ago and is irreplaceable. That was something I was waiting for more than anything else.

It is a good thing I did not have any of my furniture moved here. I imagine it would have been in pieces.

This company should not be called Carefree because they caused a ton of stress for me. There is no reason that it should have been this way. I carefully packed and had all new storage totes and boxes that should not have looked like they were thrown around.

Please do not use them if you possible. They are the worst. They only get a star so that I can post this review.

Oh and I never did get a receipt.

I hired CareFree Movers through a broker to move my furniture from Ohio To Michigan. They first quoted me $1700 after reviewing all items over the phone. On the day of the pick-up, They said they under estimated and now it cost $6400 for pick-up, storage and delivery. I had to choice but to accept since I had to be out of the apartment on the same day. several weeks later, they called me to schedule a delivery. When the driver arrived, I asked him for a final bill showing all the charges, which he refused to do!!! He demanded the money in cash and told me company policy doesn't allow them to give a final bill. When I refused to pay unless I get a bill, the driver started shouting and screaming at me and making raciest comments then he took off and left. I called the company and the broker to solve the issue, they kept insisting that I am the one to blame for refusing delivery and they will charge me a redelivery fee. I explained to them that I have no issue paying the full amount but I need a final bill, which is my right, they sent the driver back after 45 minutes He opened his truck and told me he will start unloading the furniture. He then asked me to sign the form that I am about to receive the items, which I told him I will sign it but I will not pay until I receive a final bill!!! After signing the form, he said he was told by his supervisor to leave and he took off. No furniture was delivered!!!

This is the worst experience in my life. I've tried to call them multiple times with no answer. I've reported the incident to the police, and I still don't have my furniture.

People be aware. Don't use this company and the broker "US Moving and Storage"....

Stay far away from this company. I was originally quoted 2600.00 for my move from Arizona to Iowa. After they came and did a video of what I was moving the price went up to over 5000.00. Day of loading they said there wasn’t anymore room on the truck for the remainder of my belongings and they shut the door to their truck and acted like they were going to take off with my belongings….I informed if they tried that I would call the police and have them charged for stealing my belongings. They eventually agreed to put the remainder of my things on their truck. I have been given 2 delivery dates which went past. When I was finally lucky enough to reach someone they told me my stuff was still in a warehouse in Tempe Arizona….I arrived in Iowa on the 19th of August and each time I call they say they don’t have a driver assigned to my shipment (they’re based in Iowa)…I lost the job that was waiting on me due to the fact my clothes except for the few I brought with me are still in Arizona. I’m 68 years old with a heart condition and this added stress is taking a toll on me. I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I have also spoke with an attorney about filing a class action lawsuit….reading these reviews and others I’ve found about this company shows they are ripping people off and needs to be dealt with. The sad part is I’ve already paid them almost 4000.00 and still owe almost another 2000.00 if and when my belongings finally make it here. I have read reviews on other sites where these people had opened sealed boxes and stole things. I WILL NEVER PAY A MOVING COMPANY AGAIN AND I HIGHLY RECIMMEND THAT PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!!

I don't even what to give one star. I agree with all of the reviews I have read here. When Carefree movers came to pick up my items, the load now is bigger than the estimate I was given by the broker. ALOT HIGHER!!! I have so many complaints. COMMUNICTION. My move was scheduled to be picked up on the 15th. No one showed up, when I called they told me it was scheduled for the 16th. I have to take ANOTHER day off work now. On the 16th another no show. This was a Friday so the man actually driving the truck contacted me and told me he could not pick my items up until Monday. Guess what happened on Monday. NO SHOW. So when they finally showed up, that is when they hit you with the extra charges. I had no choice but to pay. The deposit had already been put down. I was told I would have my items as soon as possible because of the delay. Well the day came and passed. I called a week later because I wanted to see just how long it would take them to get in touch with me. Now I am told another week. I was also told by Kristian to email my complaint and they would work on some type of compensation. You see I moved this exact same load last year. It has not been touched. It went straight into storage. I used Mission Moving. The cost was half the same distance. Many of my boxes were crushed. Items broken. Just a bad experience all the way around. Please do not waste your money.

To start off they tried doubling the original quote so I had them take half of the items and am paying for storage on the other half. Delivery was almost a full month from original scheduled date. They destroyed our new dresser, entertainment center, a high end floor lamp, dishes, and failed to deliver 3 items. One of the missing items had about $3500 in electrical components packed inside. I have already sent the contract to an attorney and am considering all options. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

I can't rate this company on our move yet because we don't have our household goods. However, I can tell you they don't answer the phone, return calls or update you on where your belongings are. It has been 2.5 weeks and we don't have any idea what has happened to our load. I can also tell you they use day laborers to load your belongings and not professional movers. They were delightful young men, but had never loaded a truck, ran out of moving blankets and took forever to load. When a box marked fragile/dishes fell in the truck, they would not allow me to open it to make sure it was all right.

USA Preferred brokered our load to this company after they promised us lots of things, one was they were not brokers! The whole moving industry seems to be a sham. They all seem to be deceitful, liars and cheats. I would recommend you go with one of the top 10 rated and one that is nationally known. Perhaps that will get you a stress-free experience, or at least allow you to get your belongings in one piece.

Why can't these review sites have a negative rating symbol? These clowns at Carefree Movers would rate a -10 stars based upon my experience with them. The only thing missing is an Elephant Act otherwise this would be a 3-ring circus!

They showed up at my move site 2.5 hours late. Then proceeded to inventory my furnishings. The next surprise came when "representative" stated that I owed them an additional $4,500 for an extra 1,000 cubic feet. My options were to leave furnishings in a home that was closing escrow in 1.5 days or pay the extra shipping fees. August 1 was the load date in Arizona with a first delivery date of August 7, 2022. Actual delivery date was September 5, 2022 with only 1/2 my furnishings.

I can tell you they don't answer the phone, return calls or update you on where your belongings are. It has been 4 weeks since my delivery date and I have no idea what has happened to 1/2 my load. The large master bedroom set was missing a top mattress, headboard and nightstand. My son's bedrooom was missing a large chest of dreawers and headboard. The kitchen table was missing a massive leg setup so it is currently unusable. The list goes on and on. They even "stole" my Callaway Driver, 3W, 5W and Spider putter from my golf bag (I didn't have extra room in my car).

The whole moving industry seems to be a sham. They all seem to be deceitful, liars and cheats. I would recommend you go with one of the top 10 rated and one that is nationally known. Perhaps that will get you a stress-free experience, or at least allow you to get your belongings in one piece. These people at Carefree Movers are liars every step of the way.

I booked my move thru a broker called Southern Guarantee Movers who then contracted with Carefree to move 1300 cubic feet of stuff from MN to a storage unit for 7-8 Months until my new house is completed in CO. The move to the storage unit cost me 3x what was quoted and everything ended up in Iowa instead of Colorado. I was quoted $250/month for storage and now, 4 months later, Carefree tells me it will be $1,300/month for storage fees, not $250. And I still don’t have my stuff. There has been almost zero communications with either Southern Guarantee or Carefree and I’m pretty I’ll let them keep all of my stuff before I pay them anymore money.

Went through a brokerage that seemed to be well known and liked from the reviews they had. When we were contacted by the company was supposed be picking up our stuff the office people called us 20 minutes before our pickup they tell us that we were quoted too little of space and it will cost extra which they didn’t even get everything that was supposed to be picked up. Then after pickup they have zero communication although they will lie through their teeth and say that they did everything. Never use them unless you want your boxes destroyed and you want a second full time job trying to do everything for the moving company and the broker making phone calls every single week to make sure they do what they say they’re doing which most of the time they still didn’t do.

There has been considerable damage to some of my items (ie they broke ALL 9 book cases, my mirror and many scuffs on furniture) but the biggest thing of all is that they somehow "lost" my TV, my WEDDING DRESS (which was in a clear bag so they could identify it), my printer and whole host of other items. But my wedding dress!!

Then, the group of movers who arrived in our new state and were unloading the truck- one of them asked me repeatedly about something being in my safe. Then used my bathroom, left urine on the toilet seat and rummaged through my things until he found my gold necklace and stole it. I had to file a police report. Turns out this dude was just found on craigslist- his boss didn't even have his last name! So they're not vetting any of their employees/hired smaller companies in each city.

This is in addition to the issue of quoting a certain amount and that amount being raised on us. They almost tripled our quote. By far, the worst company I have ever worked with. SO not only will they steal your money, but they will steal your things either during the move or from right under your roof. I hope this company gets shut down/gets smacked with a massive lawsuit so they can stop stealing($/sentimental items) from innocent people.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPAMY! 11 days late after “promise date” from HQ. Multiple items broken. All “sit on” furniture has to be professionally cleaned (boot marks; nothing was covered). Had to pay them in either money orders or cash - they don’t want a record. Required over $27,000 while I’m in route to my retirement home 1,000 miles away. They refused to work unless I agreed; original quote was $6,300. Then, found out the night before delivery they needed an additional $9,750 (to get to the $27,000) in cash or money. I took videos at the bank and at my home with witnesses. The first time they showed up to pack, they didn’t know they had to pack! After 3 calls to confirm they had to pack. Icing on the cake: I had to step in a break up a fist fight between two of the delivery guys because their language and actions brought several neighbors outside to see what was going on! I could go on and on but my last comment is that the woman who posted the one positive review is either a mistress of an owner; a relative and/or was paid to post. This was my 14th move (most on biz). I’ve had houses over 6,000 sq ft. I, nor my company EVER paid more than $16k. I’ve retained an attorney. I’m still in my fifties and my goal is to put them out of biz so this doesn’t happen to someone else! SCAMMERS AND CROOKS! Use at your own peril!

Long distance move from NE to CO. Our items were taken to AZ. They were supposed to deliver on 7/27. We were told on 8/13 that our items were being loaded. It's now 9/2/2022 and we STILL don't have our delivery or a date. I've had customer service people hang up on me. There was one guy answering the phone. He kept telling me he's getting my stuff reassigned to a new driver and would call back. He never called and now the number just goes to voicemail. I'm filing every report I can to get my stuff and compensation. Horrid.

If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. I read the reviews prior to starting this service and gave this company the benefit of doubt only to find disappointment. Although the delivery spread per our contract ranges from August 27th to October 12th, we have been waiting over 60 days now with no idea when to expect delivery. Keep being told that they are working on getting them dispatched and to wait for updates and nothing has happened. No idea what to do at this point since customer service isn’t giving us any estimate or updates despite being told that they will reach out to us. For this move I contacted a moving broker, Southern Guarantee, who sold my quote to Carefree Movers, because I thought I would save a lot of money this way. That might still be the case, but the reality is I have been living at my apartment for over two months now with none of my belongings. I do not recommend this service if you expect your items to actually get delivered on time.
