I do Not Recommend Using This Company at All!!

I will never use this company or the company who linked me to them, Best Movers of America. The estimate that they gave is solidly JUST an estimate, especially when the people who do the loading don't let you know you have reached the estimated amount as they are loading. They are hard to get in touch with, they don't answer when you call. When they do it's always the run around and it's bad business all together. I did get to talk to a lady, she was nice at first but later she was not. They have poor communication within the company too, and everything was more complicated than it should have been. I looked up Brooklyn Movers on line as I was having issues with them and they have an F rating and are not registered or recognized by the BBB. Not a good idea to use this company. It's a scam and bad business.

Very upsetting move

Take my advice and do not use this company if you want your items to be returned to you. I was missing 3 large boxes and a large amplifier. After they received all my money, $509 more than quoted, the customer service was unavailable in helping to locate my items. Some of which had sentimental value. My items were transferred 3 times and was over a month past my initial timeframe. This is no joke. This is just part of my frustration.

Long-distance move from Florida City, FL to Boston, MA

Lesson learnt and lost $300 deposit.

Recently I have scheduled move from Florida to Massachusetts through Beacon. My sales rep was Alex. Rep was with pleasing words and clearly indicating the space required for what items are moving.

All these changes once you play the $300 deposit, no one really cares.

Week before moving date: Called them to confirm – Alex said the dispatch team will call me

2 days before moving date: Called them to confirm- they said dispatch will call me before 24 hours

~noon day before moving date Called them to confirm - no response from Alex after this, found dispatch team number and called them several times, that said will call before 6:00 PM.

6:30 PM day before moving date called dispatch several times and caught them through different number, they said they will call back and called me at 7:00 pm saying that the driver will come between 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM on the pickup date.

On pickup date: Called them at 5:00 PM that there was no delivery driver didn’t show up, after several follow up later they said the driver is struck may or may not come on the date,

On pickup date at 8:00 PM: Driver calls and says he is on the way to pickup and finally driver and other guy shows up at 9:00 PM.

Gets more interesting, driver shows up the space allotted to me and looks at the items at my home and says we would need double the space allotted and $5 extra for each CuFeet. Means my total charge doubles.

At this movement I had only 3 days to move out of home and I was totally frustrated and betrayed. I said to driver that I will not pay anything extra; he says he will pick items only fits the space. So I had to decide not to move with Beacon. Driver called someone and leaves.

I followed up with Dispatch and Alex, no one will pick my call or even care to call me back. And nonrefundable deposit of $300 lost. Finally had to uses throw smore items and use Ubox. Funny part is over the course my sales rep Alex had different voice/accent spoke to me.

Highly recommend it!

This is my second time hiring Beacon Moving and Storage for a move. They were fantastic. This company is great, no hidden charges or attitude about extra stairs, steps from the apartment, etc. They helped with my HOA rules and were communicative via email and phone prior to and during the move, trustworthy and efficient. They were great about finding a good place to park near my apartment.

Didnt Call or Show, and took the money

We had scheduled a move and we were suppose to get the details of what time to meet up with the moving company the day before. Since we had a drive to get to the storage locker, we tried calling a few days in advance to get this information. The woman said we would get contacted by the drivers in 24 hours. We heard nothing. The day before the move, we got 1 phone call. We got a phone call from a person in customer service saying "Hey, the driver is gonna call you as soon as we hang up, pick up the phone." No call. I called the woman back and said they didnt call. She transfers me and I go to voicemail. We had called this location over 5 times and sent emails and received nothing.

Of course we did not get our stuff moved and the company has yet to refund my money. I paid 750 for a service I didnt get and by people who refuse to answer the phone. I didnt want to go public but no one is answering my calls and I have no other option. Ive heard good things about things about this company but they took our money and now I had to push my start date at my job back because of them, costing me even more. Horrible.

Our family would like to thank you for your kindness and support as we moved from IA to GA. You all performed a great job simplifying our move. His beginning and ending staff, as well as driver Max and his wife, were all top-notch. Since nothing was missing or broken, the crew kept their enthusiasm up all day, even though they had to climb four stories to get here. What an outstanding group of people!

Beacon is nothing but HUSTLERS tried to con me out of $500 extra while I was on my way to my new location.. Had a contract they did not live up to.. Now they refuse my calls and won't reimburse me for damages or extra money I paid them for my move.

Highly recommended.

I moved from New York to Florida my sales rep was Peter and overall the customer service along with the move was by far the best experience I've had with a mover. I had used a mover 2 years prior to this move and the experience was a nightmare.. My satisfaction with beacon moving was 5 stars and highly recommended to friends and family.

Scammers.

I had the worst experince you can ever have with this company.the charged double the amount I was quoted for.they didn't even havre there own trucks like they said. some company called amiran came to pick up my stuff.no trucks with beacon at all.liars,about everything, 4000 quote cost 8000, instead, some of my things were broken, stolen, smashed crushed, dirty.workers were unprofessional. couldn't speak english. threatned to hold my goods for ransome.then I did some more reseach and by then I found out to late that "BEACON MOVING IS REALLY BECKENS MOVING AND AMIRAN ARE ALL IN THE SCAM TOGETHER."ALL RAN BY THE SAME GUY SOME GUY NAME VICTOR SABACH.he is known inn the industry to be a liar thief,co artist.DO NOT EVER BELIVE ANYTHING ANY SALESMAN TELLS YOU FROM ANY OF THESE COMPANIES .run and do not book with them.

Long-distance move from Virginia to California

Worst moving experience of my life.

This company outright lied to me, broke contract, were very rude to me (even the owner) when I escalated my situation, and overall horrible. I also filed against them with the BBB of New York and they didn't even respond with a resolution to my situation. I kept a log of my horrible experience and am happy to share the Google doc of so everyone can see how bad it was:

Honest quotes that are affordable.

Beacon Moving and Storage was recommended by a co-worker who had just moved to New York from Florida. I was skeptical on all moving companies at first but Beacon was affordable and took extra special care packing and moving my Steinway baby grand piano and paintings.

Great Movers !

So good we used them twice! Hard working, reasonably priced, customer service oriented! I was concerned that the drive across town and the location difficulty of my new apartment would cause me to go over the allotted amount of time and exceed my limited budget for this move. However my two movers, Micheal and Max, were AMAZING! Recommended.
